What can i do:( It ruins the look of the home screen.

Hey MatT,
Try resetting the iPhone by holding the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button until you see an Apple appear on the screen.

If the number does not go away, try calling standard voicemail to see if everything appears normal there. Goto Phone> Keypad> hold #1 key.
You can also restore the iPhone.

  • Is it true that after updating to iOS7 I can no longer click the home button once from the home screen to lock the phone? I was in the habit of clicking the home button once to return to the home screen and then click it again to lock the phone.

This was a very convenient way of locking the phone to prevent inadvertantly opening an app or making a call when putting the phone in my pocket. Now it seems like I have to use my other hand to press the sleep/wake button on the top right.

No such function has ever existed.  Doing what you suggest used to take you to Spotlight search, which is not required now as that can be accessed on every home screen with a pull-down.

  • Hello, I'm trying to use Firefox for Android on Nook HD+. Can't find Home button to set up Home Screen.

I want to be able to start with and return to the Home Screen but I don't have one because I can't set one up using the Home Screen Button. Please help, thanks, Tony.

    Hello,
Could you please specify your problem? Are you trying to get to the "awesome screen" (firefox home on android) If so, you just close your current tab or open a new tab. To do this, tap the top left of your screen in Firefox. This is to the left of the back button. Now you either slide down a tab to close it, or tap the "+" sign at the top left while at your tab area. And also, there is no exact home button while in Firefox for android, only in desktop Firefox (at least there used to be). Hope this helps in some way!

  • Can I make the home button go to the home screen again?

The home button used to take you to the home screen, now it acts like a back button.  So, if I launch an app from a folder, then I press the home button, it will take me to the folder, not the homescreen.  Then, I have to either tap the button again (not to quickly or I'll go to the app killer screen), or tap the screen.
I just want to tap the home button and go to the home screen again.  It makes it easier.

No other way than the 2 you've already mentioned.

  • How to edit the buttons on iPod Touch home screen

How do you move around/delete icons on the iPod Touch home screen?

Hold one of the buttons until they all wiggle, drag around as desired (also to new home screens) and press home button to stop the madness.
This is all provided, however, that you have the 2.0 or the January Upgrade.
    Hope this helps.

  • Send Button Auto Jumps to Home Screen

I am having a problem replying to an email. For some reason, and this is happening with a specific email, when I try to reply to an email, I can type out the whole message, but as soon as I hit "send" the phone automatically jumps to the home screen with all the iphone apps. It doesn't do this if I try to reply to any other emails or compose an email initially.
Can anyone tell me why this is happening?
    Thanks.

You are describing an iPhone application "crash" I have had it happen to me NUMEROUS times, usually when the application you are using is processor intensive, it appears. I'm sure most people have experienced this as well, as it happens to me frequently. I read some people discussing that it only happens when you have a lot of music/video synced from iTunes. I can go with that, since it only happened to me after I filled up over half of the storage space, and it didn't happen when I had almost all space free. I'm sure it is fixable via a software update from Apple...it better be, we are all waiting.
The good thing about this is, unlike an application crashing on a computer, all of the data is saved and restored (web pages, map locations, and as you described, a composed email.)
Apple: Let's fix this one, please?

  • How do I get my commando to go to dial pad when I click on the phone on home screen..???

ohhhh how do I get back to being able to click on the phone icon main screen and go to dial pad???

    Hi Richard Miller:
Thanks for following up! Did it always do this? When you press the phone icon, it gives the phone functions, and one of them is the call log. Now the call log may appear by default if you have a missed call that hasn't been addressed. Other than that, you should be able to just press "Dial Pad" at the top to get to the dial pad manually. To exit, you can press the home key. Pressing the phone icon again should bring you back to where you left off (dial pad) as long as you've addressed any missed calls in the call log.
If that doesn't work, and you think there's a glitch, you can try pulling the battery and retesting. If that's unsuccessful, you can clear the cache of the dialer app. To do this, go to settings> applications> manage applications> all> dialer/dialer storage> clear cache/clear data/force stop.  Warning: This may erase your call history/log.
Please give those steps a try.  If that doesn't help, please give more details to your problem. We may not be on the same page yet.
    Thanks,

  • After installing 8.0.2, I have a number 1 on the settings button on the main home screen.  Even though my software is up to date, it still shows as if there is an update.  I tried reinstalling.  I still have the 1 showing.

Why does my phone show that I have an update (the #1 showing on settings button), but I have installed all updates?

Oops. You installed the beta Mountain Lion on your main hard disk? Usually most people install it on a secondary or external hard drive. Your situation should actually be posted on the Developer web site for Moutnain Lion and not here. All I can suggest here is to run repair permissions and restart. Sorry.

  • App is on phone but want it back on the home screen from which it disappeared.

I had an app on my phone's home screen but it disappeared.  I want it on my home screen.  When I do a search it shows that I already have that app and I do not know how to get it back on my home screen.  I did a reset. It's still not there.

It is for a tv station and when I type the tv station in the search box it shows up along with a lot of other information such as people in my contact list.  When I hold my finger on the actual app picture, it opens it up to the news, weather, etc. on the station.

  • Email accounts on home screen

    Hello,
First of all thanks for any assistance.
I am attempting to setup 2 email accounts on a Blackberry Tour. The emails are setup properly and sending / receiving is working with no issues at all.
My question is related to the home screen. The following link is a screenshot of the phone's home screen.
    http://imgur.com/zMyjn.jpg
The first icon (left to right) shows all of my messages from both of my email accounts, let's call them accounts A and B. The second mail icon shows messages from ONLY Email Account B. How can I make it so the first icon only shows messages from account A and the second icon behaves as it does now, showing only messages from account B?
    Thanks for any help

By default, BES email is put only into the Messages icon/app. BIS emails are placed into their own icons, but they remain contained in the main Messages app. This is how it works by default. It is not redundant -- rather, think of Messages as the catch-all place, with the independent BIS icons being a filter, pulling (from Messages) to them only the messages that pertain to them...but if you act on an email (read, delete, etc.) in one, the change will be reflected in the other.
Your BES Admin can push a BES-only email icon to your device. This solution is free, but must be conducted at the BES server, and will affect all users on that BES server.
KB15003 How to create a separate icon on the BlackBerry smartphone for only BlackBerry Enterprise Server messages
Or you can get the Empower BES Inbox application. This solution costs (per user), but does not require a change at the server, and only affects the one user.
    http://www.getempower.com/Empower_BES_MailBox.php
Or, if your device OS has the option, you can dictate what shows in Messages:
Homescreen > Messages > > Options > (Main Message List Settings) or (Inbox Settings) > uncheck what you want to suppress in Messages
Neither of the first two solutions will do anything about Messages -- it will continue to contain everything that it today contains. All they will do is activate an additional icon on your homescreen that is a filter for your BES-only emails. You can hide or move the Messages icon/app somewhere out of the way, but beware -- there are more than just emails that arrive in Messages...there will come a day when you have a new message flag and only by digging through Messages will you be able to find that message.
Hopefully that helps explain how it all works!
    Good luck!

  • Issue in usability of Microsoft lumia 535 - Behavior of Key '- ' , on bottom right corner of home screen, is ambiguous.

    Hi All,
I am new to this forum. And I may have incorrectly raised my concern here - over the usability aspect 'Microsoft lumia 535' mobile phone. Please help - to forward my concern to the correct forum in that case.
I faced issue in using the key '->' on bottom right corner of phone's home screen (scroll down on the home screen to use the key). Clicking the key '->' should ideally take to the screen to it's right where all the applications are listed. As per known
behavior of earlier phones of the lumia series like 630,525 etc.
However, the behavior is ambiguous, sometimes the click on '->' takes to its right screen, and sometimes it refreshes the home screen. And sometimes there is no impact of the click. The behavior is thus improper and provides bad experience in using it.
Earlier I thought this defect is specific to the phone I purchased, but further I analyzed other 'Microsoft lumia 535' - and the same issue was observed in all the other pieces of lumia 535.
Please let me know, if it is issue and is already known, or if the behavior is intentional then what is the reason for the same?
    Regards,
    Azmun

  • My iPhone 3G phone button no longer works. If I push it I get a black screen for a few seconds then back to the home screen. Everything else is ok. Any ideas how to fix this?

The phone button on my iPhone 3G no longer works. Everything else on the iPhone works fine. I can receive incoming calls. I can make calls directly from Contacts. But if I press the phone button I get a blank white screen for a few seconds then it goes back to the home screen. I've tried the hard reset and also restoring orignall settings via iTunes but keep getting the same problem. Does anyone know how to fix this?
    Thank you, Neil.

Thanks for the advice but I've tried resetting network settings and also the reset by pressing home and sleep buttons until getting the Apple logo. Still have the same problem. To be clear (because I mistakenly typed black instead of blank in the title to this thread): If I press the phone button I get a BLANK WHITE screen for a few seconds then it goes back to the home screen. I doubt it's the SIM card as I can receive calls and make them directly from contacts. What I can't do is view my favourite numbers or missed calls or access my voicemail, i.e. all the things you get to via pressing the phone button.

  • When I am on a phone call and I double click the button to go to my home screen, then open another application (usually my calendar program, Calengoo), my screen goes blank and I am not able to return to either the app, the phone, or the home screen.

When I am on a phone call and I double click the button to go to my home screen, then open another application (usually my calendar program, Calengoo), my screen goes blank and I am not able to return to either the app, the phone, or the home screen. If I am speaking to a person, if they hang up then I am back to the phone application. If I'm leaving a message, I am unable to return to the phone screen to end the call, and have to wait until the other phone hangs up. I'm also unable to switch back and forth to look at my calendar if I'm calling someone about scheduling. This has only started happening since the most recent iOs update. I run into situations similar to this about once per day during the work week, as I use my phone is this manner quite often. While not life altering it is quite frustrating. Can anyone here help me figure out a way to avoid this? If it helps, I have noticed a general downgrade in overall performance starting two system updates ago (apps opening more slowly, closing unexpectedly more often, etc.). I have an iPhone 3GS with the latest OS update.
Thank you for any help or suggestions,
    Chris

    I could be corrupted backup.
You can check the notification settings for message.
    Settings>Notification Center>Messages>Alert Style
It should be on Banners or Alerts.
Settings>Messages> Turn on Imessage and send as SMS and below that "Blocked" to check if you have any numbers block might be blocking the message.
You can also do a hard reset by holding power and home till it restarts and release after seeing the apple logo.
Still doesn't work? Settings>General>Reset>Reset all settings
