VoIP Callmanager Express newbie whos struggling

Hi,
I have been dropped into the mire as I have a basic Cisco knowledge.
I am attempting to configure a CISCO2811-V3PN/K9 with 12.3 (8), the voice line is an ISDN30 (using 10 lines)via a VWIC-1MFT-E1 and I have verified through the service provider that there is connectivity to layer 2. I have then tried following the admin guide for the Callmanager Express and have got as far as the automated Callmanager Setup to configure Dn's extra, however post this I was expecting to see some life in the 7940 phone connected up to the built in NM-ESW-16 PoE switch. I have nothing, no lights, no sign of life! Could someone please help and advise whats wrong in the config below. PLEASE!!

Hi, breakwaterit,
unfortunately i am behind you on the CME curve but i was hoping you could help me with a few quick start tips. i have a 2801 with 12.3(8r). i went through the admin guide (CME 3.3) my salesman sent me but i couldn't get any of the commands to work (dhcp, . i wonder if i really have the CME program on the router? i also can't figure out how to get the automated setup tool to work. i would think this would be easy but it isn't so far. maybe i don't have CME 3.3 and i have an older version. i hope i am just missing some file or the CME app isn't started on the router. if you want you can email me directly at [email protected]

Broadcast Hunt In CallManager Express and SRST

Anyone know if Broadcast Hunt is now supported in CallManager Express or SRST?

Chris is right on the fact that there is no true broadcast hunting in CME. You may achieve almost the same effect by doing what is said in this thread.

Problem with 7920 phone and callmanager express 4.1

Hello to all, I have callmanager express version 4,1, in I registered a telephone model 7920, this telephone it receives and it makes calls without no problem, but when it makes the forward by nonanswer or by occupied to the voice mail, after reading the voice mail leaves the line retained, is to say of the 2 ephone-dn that I form to him, 1 of them this retained by the forward to the voice mail and I cannot do called by that channel somebody it knows that I must do so that the telephones or the CUE releases the line and it does not leave it retained. Get MAC-address of IP Phone using CallManager Express

at the moment I am developing some XML-services for Cisco IP Phones. Now I want to personalize some pages and to make that reality I need the MAC-address of the IP Phone to verify the user.
After a lot of research I found out how to do it with CallManager (use #DEVICENAME# in the url), but I didn't found out how to do it with CallManager Express. I have tried the solution for CCM in CCME, but that didn't work out. So, my question is: How can I get the MAC-address of an IP Phone with CallManager Express?

you only have to use #DEVICENAME# when you are using a CallManager IP phone service. Under CME, simply set your services URL and the phone will automatically append the ?name=SEPXXXXXXXXXXXX parameter for you. If you configure your services URL on CME as http://10.1.1.1/MyApp the request will be http://10.1.1.1/MyApp?name=SEPXXXXXXXXXXXX
(where SEPXXXXXXXXXXXX is the device name of the phone making the request)

Airport Express newbie - struggling to get in onto our WIFI - help!

Having read a little about the Airport Express and ability to stream music from iPhone to music devices around the house over wifi I recently purchased one.
Have now spent 24 hours overcoming one problem after another with still no clear way forward.... heres what I've tried... please can someone help!
Ok so setup here is Windows Vista on the family laptop and Virgin Super Hub broadband - laptop and superhub in different rooms connected via wifi
Initially got the usual flashing amber, which I seem to have resolved by connecting the AE via an ethernet cable to the laptop and in the Utility app in Windows was able to muddle through the manual setup in order to point the AE at our wifi;
The good news is the AE now has steady green light ... bad news is that I have no evidence it is actually connected to the wifi... my iphone doesnt appear to recognise I have an AE, neither Music over ITunes or the Utility app on the Iphone... nothing seems to work
Where am I going wrong ... would love to make use of this AE but at present feel like throwing it out of the window!!

I temporarily used an ethernet cable in order to do the manual setup via AU on the PC. It would appear from having completed the wireless setup that the device "sees" the home WIFI and is connected. However the mobile AU app on my iphone does not "see" the AE at all; and when I go into itunes on either the PC or iPhone neither of them allow music to be streamed to the AE. In essence, I am missing something fundamental, but it isnt a simple setup for a simpleton like me
The green light is on but I have no idea if it really is connected to the WIFI and certainly itunes and AU dont "see" the AE?
Any further thoughts much appreciated...

I was a newbie like 4 months ago. i have some skills of OOP in C++ like 2 years back but since then i did'nt took any of programming language courses. I have experience in MSaccess and MYsql. i did my internship Last summer with Tennessee Education Lottery as a Database Analyst. At that time i realized what a Corporate Enviorment looks like. Trust me it was a formal interview and i passed it and they placed me in the IT department to write some scripts for the GUI terminal and at the same time create a Company Security Database. i did completed my project but i had to Learn Mysql. and then i realized Java was getting very popular. alot of people told me in the forums to go Java tutorial but i will not agree to start from the sun tutorial. you can do it only if you have a good or may be medium experience of OOP. it was really tough for me and then this magic guy came on the forum and told me to go on this website if you want to learn Java.

This site is a brilliant site specially the exercise problems and the quizes really attracted me to Java alot and now i came to realize how easy it is to program in Java rather than C++. Java forums have helped me alot in solving those exercise problems (not with the code but with a good explanation) which was very helpful for me. out of my 210 post i guess i have helped 30 people out and the rest of the questions are regarding those exercises. i came to know encapsulation, inheritance and all that stuff. though i am still not very perfect like i am still having trouble with ComparTo thing but it takes more practice. the more you practice the more you learn. so all the newbies if you really want to learn java even if you dont have any experience in OOp this is the site where you need to start. Hope this will definitely help you alot. thanks to all the Senior members navycoder, captain, paulcw, duffy, turingpest and others also who have helped me in the past. without you i would have not achieved the goal of learning java. now my next step is going to be learn GUI programming Swing. looks fun to me. but at the same time i have my final project for this semester to make on ONline Testing program which will have a database, php scripting and html and xml.

VOIP and Express

Can I do this ...?
VOIP Modem/router > switch > Airport Extreme (on first floor)
then Airport Express with an ethernet VOIP handset plugged into the ethernet ports on the airport express (on the second floor)?
does the ethernet port on AExpress supply an IP address from the router ? so that the VOIP phone will get its own IP address ??

Yes, the Airport express will provide an IP address, but if you already have a router, you don't want your AE to provide a seperate ip address. If properly configured, it will broadcast a wireless signal and pick up a IP address from your Voip Router.

Logic 8 Express newbie requires help

I am using Logic Express 8 and an Edirol 24bit 96kHz audio capture with an SM57 mic connect to it.
I am using Tapco Monitor speakers and I have select this device as my output and input source.
In LE8 I would like the most basic instruction in how to create a audio track that means I can record my guitar. So I can monitor it and record it.
Whenever I record anything it's blank.
When I blow into the mic I can hear it through my speakers, but in Logic it will not record.
Any help would be fantastic. =)

How do other people learn how to use these programs? I have no one who uses music recording software.. so I'm on my own.. I have no one else to ask and it's entirely frustrating!
You could check on You tube ..there are many channels on music production...for Logic you need to check SFLogicNinja. Although he uses Logic Pro most of his tutorials apply to both.
Also you could try Mac Pro Video's Trial ,you can try it for $1 for 3 days ,if you don't like it you just unsubscribe.

CallManager Express TCL Script issue

Hi, I'm having issues trying to get an AA script working on a CME 4.0 system. What I want to do is quite simple, i just want to play a message to callers and that's it.

In reference to this part of your config:
If you are using a hunt group, you need the following param:
param aa-hunt1
I would also try using a loopback addres in your voip dial peer, rather than the H.323 physical IP addres of your router.

Newbie here. struggling already

Hi All,
Connected my ipod for the first time (I'm a first time ipod user). I thought itunes would sync with the music held in the My Music folder on my pc. Well, my itunes became full of speed camera warnings and sat-nav instructions. I have absolutely no idea where these came from.
Also, agreat many tracks were repeated, some repeated four times. So I've just spent a while deleting more stuff than I've kept.
Why has this happened and how do I prevent it happening again?

I'm a newbie as well. This is what I discovered: If you purchased music from a website other then iTunes (such as Musicmatch or Realplayer), you will have to save all those songs to a CD and then upload them into iTunes. However, when iTunes reads the CD it will not populate the song name, artist and album name etc. When iTunes asks if you want to upload the CD, click "No." Then place your pointer on the first song on the CD and right click. Select "Get Info." A screen will appear. You will also notice 3 tabs at the top. Select the 2nd one and fill in all the information about the song. By clicking "Next," it will take you to the next track. When you are done, then download the CD into iTunes. If anyone else out there reading this comment knows a better way, please share.
Check your spelling because when I synched with my iPod I misspelled some songs. I'm waiting to see how to correct that.

A/P Express Newbie question

Hi. Considering getting an a/p express to stream music down to my family room. Question: it seems the speaker connections are pretty limited--
what sort of speakers do people use to stream wirelessly in a house. Is it a 1-speaker central speaker or two bookshelves or towers?
How do you get the cables to fit into the back of the AP Express if they're not standard jack style? Should I upgrade my router to AP Extreme?
Any other tips or a source for good information on AP Express w/be appreciated.

The AirPort Express uses a stereo mini jack. You'll need an adapter and stereo cable to hook to your stereo. The Express will also provide a digital optical output. Again, you'll need an optical cable with the correct connectors to connect to your stereo.
Check the Apple online store for accessories, cables, etc. Radio Shack will also have what you need.

Url error in 7960 on CallManager Express

I have 3 7960 phones configured for CME. One of them has correctly taken the url definitions and displays it on its screen but others give the following messages when the services button is pressed:
phone-1: To set up speed dials and other services for your phone, please go to (SEP_MAC address of the phone)
phone-2: An error occured and was logged. (SEP_MAC address of the phone)
I tried erasing the ephone configs and reconfiguring, resetting etc but any attempts have given result.

Have not configured CME. But should be similar to CallManager wrt Extenstion mobility. I guess, there could be some configuration missing and hence the Extension mobility services is not working. Check out the document below for the correct steps of configuring the same.

Newbie who needs help!

I require someone who has a lot of patience as I am a complete dimwit when it comes to computers and I am about to thorw mine out the window. Unfortunately when I brought my mp3 a friend set it all up and i didn't take any notice. I am now trying to download more songs and for some reason nothing is transferring. I have also managed to delete all the previous songs off my player but they are still in the Creative Media Playlist but not on my actual mp3. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
