i was looking to use fring or tango app to place a call..how does that appear on my wireless bill..is it as an itemized call or does it just show up as data usage? thanks so much

You shouldn't be using the same account on phone iphones. Have him setup his own and make sure his iCloud is logged in with that one

How to get someone off my phone bill and onto their own without starting a new contract?

I added my boyfriend to my plan in September when the iPhone 6 came out. Well I'm wanting to split bills again and have him on his own separate bill. Is there a way that he can be taken off my plan and moved to his own plan and bill without starting a new two year contract? Like would he be able to be on his own plan and be eligible for an ungrade in Sept 2016? Even if the two years does start over, is there still a way he can be moved off of my plan and onto his own without any fees for me? Any help would be appreciated.

If you don't wish to use credit card, you can use a debit card if you have one (that acts like a credit card anyway). This may be an alternative you may wish to explore.

But once again, I do not want to lose my other texts, app progress, and photos. I could sync the photos but i would still lose the app progress and texts. I would only restore if it was the only option left, but the other space, as already stated, isnt the main concern. The main concern is those 'deleted' texts. If they go, then a good size chunk of the other space goes. I know you CAN delete texts for good. It worked fine before. All i want to know is why its not working for me now, and how to fix it.
I also know that when you delete texts on your iphone, they get marked for deletion, however they stay on your device (thats why they show up when you search for them.) then when you sync your device with itunes, the texts marked for deletion should disappear. When i synced they didnt disappear. Thats what i need an explanation/solution for. Why the texts marked for deletion didnt get fully deleted after the sync.

If you are using an unsecured or shared wireless network, then it could be just another user's computer name. If your sharing settings are correct, you have no worry. However, It would appear that at least some of the other user's settings are less than optimal inasmuch as his/hers is openly being displayed.
The next time you check into a hotel and use their wireless network, you are likely to see a number of other user's computers. Some just the name, as they share no files. While others are wide open, and their file sharing is on.

Hi, can anyone tell me how to go about making cheap voip calls on the ipad 1 as it only has an ear plug point and not a microphone one? being a pensioner I`m trying to save money!! thanks in anticipation.

Although I don't own all of the iDevices, I do know from experience that my iPod Touch (2nd gen up) and the iPads + iPhones can indeed make VOIP calls from various services. The harder part is finding a way to listen and talk conveniently and understanding your VoIP service capabilities.

The VoIP software - presumably something you already use today on a computer and have an account/telephone number for.

The choices depend a lot on who you primarily talk with and what they use (conventional telephone, Skype, etc)
I prefer a full fledged SIP (VOIP) clients like iSIP or my personal favourite the Bria VoIP phone software with a VOIP telephone number from a standalone VoIP provider like voip.ms but that may be too complicated a setup for some. It does provide the best telephone experience however. I'm not sure which players are strong in the UK.
Some of these only work when you have a a WiFi connection but I regularly use the Bria phone on my iPad while driving (3G and LTE both work fine).

The audio connection - the easiest is a combined headset/microphone like the simple Apple earpiece or other third party ones that have both ear and microphone in a single plug (you can tell which is which because there are 3 rings/4 gold contacts on the plug). Ask around - many iPhone users have these included in the box and never use them, preferring more expensive after market models).
Another more sophisticated way is to use a bluetooth headset of any kind. These can be very comfortable and work well, but are not as easy as simply plugging in a headpiece. Batteries need charging and the bluetooth connection can be finicky sometimes.
A third option around the home is to use one of the newer telephone sets that has bluetooth connectivity to the ipad/iphone - this is elegant but also more complicated than you would probably enjoy unless you're handy with the technology.
I'd recommend you have someone familiar with the Apple world who's a bit techie, can help you think through your requirements around calling patterns and volumes and clearly understands that you likely prefer ease of use over saving a few pence.

If you are using Apple's Mail app 6.5 is the latest version irrespective of what a previous poster says. It does sound though that you are using a gmail account online via a web browser. Please confirm and fill in missing information.

If you've never used them before (they are new) then they are not formatted for Macs.
Drive Partition and Format
1. Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Apply button and wait until the process has completed.
4. Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
5. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Security button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
6. Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to several hours depending upon the drive size.

My Iphone 4s stopped playing a majority of my songs after i tried to sync a cd to my phone through itunes. The songs will open but will not play. They remain at zero. They appear to be grey on the list instead of the usual black font color and they have dotted grey circles in front of them when they are opened in my itunes account under the phone. In the phone's song list they are also grey, with red boxes within a circle behind their titles. In my general itunes music library the songs play perfectly fine. First, we need to know if the audiobook chapters are being treated by iTunes as music files or as audiobooks. If they are not audiobooks purchased from the iTunes store, they might be getting "shuffled". You will need to look at "File" - "Properties" (I think - I don't use iTunes under Windows - or right-click on the file and choose "properties") and look at the media type. If it is "Music", change it to "Audiobook". If this is not the problem, or does not fix anything, please post back.
Actually, looking at your post again, a second thought occurs to me - assuming there are less than 100 chapters in the book, just renaming them with a leading zero on the first nine chapters might do it. A computer will alphabetically sort filenames in the order you quote (1, 10, 11, 12, 13, ... 2, 21, etc.) but a leading zero will fix that (01, 02, 03 ... 10, 11, 12)

There are two ways. First put them in the order you want in an album.
Method 1:
1 - rename the album the photos are in to something that will work as a file name for the photos.
2 - export photos to a folder on the Desktop via the File ➙ Export ➙ File Export
menu option with File Name = Album Name with number.
Method 2:
1 - select the photos in the album and use the Photos ➙ Batch Change ➙ Title to Text
menu option to rename the photos and add a sequential number to the end of the file name.
2 - export photos to a folder on the Desktop via the File ➙ Export ➙ File Export

Digital Photo Frame df1010v2 - how to download photos in the order they appear on USB?

Photos installed nicely into my df1010v2 digital photo frame, but not in the order I wanted them. I had painstakingly named all of them by date, and they appeared chronologically on the USB drive I copied them from, but they downloaded in random bunches. Does anyone know why this happened and whether there is a fix? Pictures are for my 90-year-old mother, and the weird order will confuse her. I do not have frame set to view in random sequence, but that's how they will appear to her P.S. Many of the photos are scans of old photos, so setting them to appear by date taken will not work here. If you are happy with PSE 6, why not continue to use it?
PSE 13 can display the images in date/time order like PSE 6 does. The time doesn't appear when you hover over a thumbnail but can be displayed below the thumbnail. The best thing is for you to download the trial version (select version 13 from the following link) and try it for 30 days to see if you like it.

If you use the trial, to see the date and time under each thumbnail you need to go to the View menu in the organizer and ensure that Details is checked.
