VoIP,data and video conferencing Design

hi
i want to design a network that support VoIP,data and Video conferencing for two offices (head offices and branch office ).What will be the best option  ??
thanks

You can see this URL. The SRND is very useful. You can find information about the diferent models that you have to work. MCUs, GW, GK, endpoints and other components.

  • Separates data and video

    Dear All,
I have a problem in my network. When I implement video conferencing, using almost all the bandwidth used, so that the data traffic is slower, otherwise during the high data traffic, video conferencing becomes dotted. Please help me find a solution, so as video conferencing and data can be separated. So that both can work well together.
I am using Cisco Tandberg, and Cisco 2811 for router.
    Best regards,
    Agung DW

Your problem is either you dont have any QoS configured or its not working.
Review this QoS Design guide and configure your QoS accordingly: http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/solutions/Enterprise/WAN_and_MAN/QoS_SRND_40/QoSIntro_40.html
Specifically you need to have LLQ configured where you have voice and data. LLQ is just same as CBWFQ but adds Priority Queue for real time traffic and then class based weighted fair queue for other classes. This makes sure your real time traffic like voice gets priority treatment but at the same time has an implicit policer as well which will make sure during congestion your other traffic gets the bandwidth you specify.
So to solve your problem configure qos, correctly classifying each type of traffic, namely voice, video, critical data, network control, scavenger, best effort etc., assigning each type of traffic guaranteed bandwidth according to the requirements (Refer to Cisco document, it will give you best practices or reference point) and you will be in much better position.
    Hope that helps
    Terry

  • Won't read CDs but DVDs normal data and video

My mid 2007 has stopped recognizing CDs, blank, data, and video. It makes several attempts to read then ejects disk. I haven't tried to record DVDs but it reads video and data normally. Sugestions?

The slot-loading optical drives used in iMacs are notorious for failing, even under light infrequent use. If your iMac is covered under an extended 3-year AppleCare warranty, you can take your iMac to any local Apple store or authorised Apple dealer to get a new optical drive fitted free of charge. Your other option is to buy an external USB/FireWire drive instead of using your built-in drive - if you go for a standard 5.25" tray loader, these are cheap and reliable.

  • RV082 and video conferencing

RV082 router is not allowing video conferencing through to Polycom 7000 HD.  voice comes through but no video.
    Have tried several things.
1.) necessary ports ( Polycom provided) forwarded to designated internal ip / firewall acess allowed ( external ips to designated internal ip ) respective port Qos set to high.
2.) set dmzhost to designated internal ip address. Respective port Qos set to high.
3.) enabled Upnp with necessary (Polycom provided) ports forwarded to designated internal ip address.
    Is something missed?
Other option is obtain second external ip address and connect to DMZ port. Trying to avoid a second external ip.

    multicast passthrough is enabled.
At this point I am leaning towards a bandwidth problem.  Since this unit is sharing the local network - there may not be
enough bandwidth the support the video signal but sufficient for voice.

  • VoIP (UDP) and Video (mpeg4) Benefit from WAN Optimization?

From what I am reading VoIP and (Video)MPEG4 are "integrated" into a vendor's WAN acceleration/optimization app/device but I don't read VoIP or mpeg4 will benefit? Is this a true statement?

  • Messages, Facetime, iChat and Video Conferencing

We are using 10.7 and a colleague is using 10.8.  Facetime only seems to allow two people to video conference.  ichat allows at least four.  I am told in Messages in 10.8 beta, selecting video opens Facetime (with only two video users.)
    1)  With 10.8, is there going to be the capability for more than two to video conference?
    2)  Is iChat being replaced by Messages?

    Hi,
If you had Buddy list with iChat before you had Messages then it will do the same Video Chats iChat did.
For Mac to Mac (AIM to AIM or Jabber to Jabber) this can be up to 4 people including yourself.
At the Text Chat Level an "Account" is added to the list in Messages menu > Preferences Accounts.
    This uses an Apple ID.
If you open New Messages then you can select Contacts (Address Book List) and text chat to them
    Uploaded with Skitch!
Those on iPhone (Phone Numbers or Apple IDs) and iPads (generally Apple IDs) and certain Touches can then be iMessaged.
(As the pic says you can also access the Buddies in the iChat style Buddy lists (rather than display the Buddy lists) and Text chat to them.
At the next stage, as it were, the Blue Icon has become a Video icon.
For iMessages contacts this starts up FaceTime.
    Uploaded with Skitch!
FaceTime is the Video Chat option in iOS 5 devices and is limited by the processors on iOS devices and only does 1-1 chats.
There is however Version on your Mac in Lion so that you can either do 1-1 contact with other Macs and/or Video chats to Phones and iPads.
    So...
Your Mac with Messages and the fomer iChat Buddy Lists can do up to 4 way Video chats with the Buddies in those Lists - with the proviso that they are logged in to the same Service.
Messages also adds in Texting iMessages to your Address  Book Contacts using either iPhone Numbers (only iPhones - not other phones) or their Apple ID  (does include some iPads that also have SIM cards)
These Contacts can be FaceTimed which can be activated from within Messages

  • MPX and Video Conferencing

Want to check to see if MPX VT can do this. Want to have a video conference where the presenter will see all of the participants but the remote people will just see the presenter.
I see in the documentation that in a video conference, the default seems to be to see who ever is talking.
Can I do this with MPX VT2.x?
    Thanks.

Is that to say MP 8 would fix this issue as well (from the table above)?  Because right now we are hard-pressed to justify them upgrading from MPX to MP8 given that it does not fix the voice prompt issue I posted in another section.  We'd definitely rather upgrade to MP8 (even though it means them buying 2GB more ram for their existing server) than crossgrade to MPX-VT.

  • Cisco Business Video Conferencing Design & Architecture

    https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-30750

We have tested calls between SCCP clients and Tandberg units. There could be multiple ways of doing this but we have implemented it as below
    VTA --> Callmanager ---> H323 gatekeeper ---> tandberg unit
Then link between Callmanager and the H323 gatekeeper is a trunk, setup in the callmanger. The dial patterns can be set easily. Both GK and CM need to be configured for it.
    But it works fine.

  • Designing Cisco Video conferencing solution

    Hi All,
I need to design a single site Cisco IP Video Conferencing soultion which should support web, chat, ISDN and email etc support.
there will be one conferencing room which will be communicating with other remote or traving users.
the requirement is that remote or travelling users should be able to have the video conferencing facility with the Headoffice(single site) and vise versa.
Any help will be much appreciated.
    Regards,
    Waqas

I would recommend Cisco unified presence server for your deployment with MPX. That will give you chat, voice and video conferencing. If you dont use MPX then you can only do point-to-point video CUPS on its own doesnt support video conferencing.
YOu can also intergrate with exchange to view meetings and unity to listen to voicemails.
You can use VTA for the remote clients and 7985 for central site or some sort of tanberg phone if you want a larger screen.
The remote users are going to have to have a pretty low latency connection to get good quality video/voice.

  • What System Can use for Phone & Video Conferencing

    Hello,
What System to recommend to use for our Small office on both Voice and Video Conferencing.

    Hi Angelo,
As Jaime suggested the design needs to be validated before its implemented. Assuming you are using CUCM, you can look at the possibility of using 9971 series IP phones with Video conferencing capable ISR G2 routers with PVDM-3. Please check the following

why isn't there yet an available p2p embeded code for voip and video conference in Firefox??

So, the upload time will vary on internet connection. If there is an issue with how fast it is uploaded you can check if prefetching is turned on, but this does not really affect uploading [https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Controlling_DNS_prefetching Controlling DNS prefetching]
If you search for solutions, you will see a bunch of tweaks as well that may be helpful to your specific computer. [[Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL]] to make sure you are all up to date as well.

  • Video conferencing if you already have VoIP running

Hi, imagine on a large organization you already have a voip system up and running.
Then you decide to deploy a video conferencing system.
In general, how much configuration do you expect to perform in order to deploy the video over IP successfully? Should I expect to do mainly client configuration in order to watch the video conferencing, or that is going to require router/switch configuration as well to accomodate the video traffic?

It depends on the type and volume of video conferencing you're talking about. If you're referring to point to point conferencing using VT advantage, the configuration will be minimal. If you're referring to multipoint conferencing using a conference controller(s), the configuration becomes more complex. With any video, it's necessary to configure QoS throughout the network. This will certainly involve router/switch configuration in order to classify, mark, and honor the markings of video traffic.
Hope this helps. If so, please rate the post.

  • CUCM registered SX10s and adhoc video conferencing

    Hi All,
We have a customer with CUCM 10.5 looking to do some very basic video conferencing (multi party but only need loudest talker switching).  Simplicity is key here, they are used to adhoc conferencing including MeetMe in CUCM using traditional IP phones.  They are looking at installing SX10s in a few meeting rooms, registered to CUCM 10.5.  The questions I have are:
    i) Is it possible to use a G2 ISR (2911 etc.) with a homogeneous conference bridge configured for h264 / HD 720p and have the SX10s be part of a conference?  The data sheet indicates the SX10s support 720p30 (http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/collaboration-endpoints/telepresence-quick-set-series/datasheet-c78-731274.html).  I understand there would be some serious limitations here like no transcoding (all parties in the conference have to support the 720p stream), this shouldn't be an issue as all devices will be SX10s.
ii) Is it possible to initiate a MeetMe conference from an SX10, either from the remote or a touch 10?
ii) Is it possible to dial into a MeetMe conference from an SX10, either from the remote or a touch 10?
iii) Is it possible to escalate a point to point call to an adhoc conference from an SX10, either from the remote or a touch 10?
The Cisco TelePresence Endpoints and Cisco Unified Communications Manager document (http://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/telepresence/endpoint/codec-c-series/tc7/administration-guide/administering-endpoints-running-tc72-on-ucm1051.pdf) has a few lines on adhoc conferencing (page 54) which says "To enable ad hoc conferencing the CUCM must be set up with a Conference Bridge (media resources), and the conference bridge must be added as a Cisco Telepresence MCU in CUCM."  Which makes me doubt the PVDM3 video conference bridge would be supported.
Are there any other solutions to a simple video conference requirement, or would it have to be a MCU registered to CUCM?
    Thanks,
    Jonathan

With the SX10's registered to CUCM there is several options here. One is that if they own a good amount of CUWL then there is the ability to get free TelePresence Server licenses. I believe it is for every 30 CUWL pro they get 1 screen license and the ability to install conductor. In order to install this you need to make sure that you have VMware resources to handle those two installs. Then you can have your ad hoc meeting configured in that.
If they want a physical appliance than a MCU 53xx can be used as well. License it based on how many people you want in one bridge.
In either case you will need to configure the Media Resource Group option in UCM to point to those SIP trunks to allow for the 3 way video call to happen and it will be automatic to the end user. They will see a call coming in and then the option to accept and merge.
I remember reading about using a GSR but it has to have the DSP 3 module in it for the video encoding.
