VoIP legacy versus AVVID VOIP

Ben,
In the present time I'm preparing to give a presentation on the different between Voip over legacy PBX (Nortel Opt-11) and AVVID CCM VOIP topology. I'd worked alot on VoIP and Vofr via legacy PBX and a fair knowledge on AVVID. I need your expert advise or point me to some documentation to research.
Thanks,
Allen L.

  • Voip stand-alone phone versus pbx

    My Skype communication need is simple.  I want to make calls using my Skype number such that that number appears on the call receiver's caller ID.  I already receive Skype calls on my landline using Skype's call transfer utility.  What's the least expensive way to achieve that goal?  The appearance is this can be accomplished with a simple VOIP technology that connects a VOIP-specific landline phone to my internet router.  Alternatively, there is a PBX technology that requires a SIP account.  So here are my questions:
    (1) Is my supposition correct that the NON-SIP VOIP phone that I discuss first above will satisfy my requirement?
    (2) If I spring for the PBX technology -I'm assuming there is an extra cost for the SIP service- what capabilities will it bring my business beside simply making outgoing calls identified with my Skype number?
    (3) If I use the simple VOIP phone alternative, what products are recommended?  There's a bushel of them and I have no idea how to select between them.
    Thanks ever so much for taking the time to read and maybe reply to this inquiry.  Since this forum is so inscrutably designed, I'd appreciate a reply copied to email to [e-mail removed for privacy and security].

    You need to debug this on the gateway.
    When the VXML command comes back to build the bridge transfer, something is going wrong. You don't need a param on the service to make this transfer.
    debug ccapi inout should show something like this on the transfer:

  • Need help - Catalyst 3550 on CCM4.1 Voip

    Guys.
    We had a Catalyst 3550 switch fail last week, and the guy who really knows this system has left the company.
    The switch has a non-free molecules error, which i believe is terminal.
    I've sourced a replacement switch and need help configuring it.
    I copied the running config from it's sister switch (there are only 2 switches on this ccm), however, the sister switch is a 3560.
    I changed the I.P address and switch name before uploading it to the 3550 on the off chance it might just work.
    Show run on the 3550 shows that it might be configured, but when i connected it, it took the gateway down.
    I'm really up the creek at the moment unless i can get someone to either look at it, find an old config or get this guy back in for a few hours.
    Any advice would be greatly received.
    Looking at show run, i see two refernces to VLAN's
    interface Vlan1
     ip address 170.205.238.3 255.255.255.0
    interface Vlan10
     ip address 10.10.0.254 255.255.255.0
    ip classless
    ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 170.205.238.1
    no ip http server
    The I.P address 170.205.238.1 is alien to me.. i don't know what this is. However, what i do know is that i never changed this. This IP address is the same in the 3560.
    Could this cause an issue ?. I'm not aware of anything on a 170.X.X.X subnet, this could have been some legacy from the previous owners of the building.
    The first 3 ports in the switch are connected to the publisher, subscriber and gateway router.
    Does it matter which port is connected to which component. ?
    I believe that i can't be too far away from configuring this, but without any help, i'm a bit stuck.

  • VoIP telephone doesn't ring one way

    Hello
    I have a 2600 with a voice port (directly connected to a telephone) connected to a AS5300 with a voice port (directly connected to a pabx)
    When i ring from the 2600 phone the AS5300 dialed extension rings the call is works fine
    When i dial through the AS5300 to the 2600 phone the phone doesn't ring. If i actually pick up the phone (from watching debug whilst a call is made) the actual call is fine. But the phone doesn't ring.
    I have tried changing the ring frequency from 25 to 50 and visa versa.
    Does anyone have any ideas ?
    Thanks

  • Route 10 digit dialed numbers to 4 digit VoIP extensions

    If a branch office phone dials a 10 digit TN of a VoIP phone, instead of simply dialing the internal extension, is there any way to route that call over the WAN instead of sending the call off to the PSTN? We have 30+ locations for which we'd like to apply this concept to.
    We are using a mixture of PSTN's and SIP trunks, MGCP gateways, and CUCM 7.1
    Thanks,

    Absolutely although the answer will differ depending on the intracies of your particular dial plan design. Here are two common approaches:
    (Adapt) Create translation patterns for your DID ranges within the same partition that the off-net route patterns exist. The more-specific translation pattern will be matched, preventing the call from going off-net. In your example as you've described it:
    Route Pattern: [2-9]XX[2-9]XXXXXX or 9.[2-9]XX[2-9]XXXXXX
    Translation Pattern:
    FROM: 608[2-9]XX.XXXX or 9.608[2-9]XX.XXXX (Take note of the period and the fact that the pattern is more explicit than your route pattern!)
    TO: Digit Discard: PreDot; Use a CSS that has the internal DNs.
    (Start Over) This, along with a long list of other dial plan shortcomings has been designed in the E.164-based dial plan introduced with CUCM 7.0; however, this essentially requires you to start over. There is no easy way to convert from the legacy model. The E.164 "act local, think global" mentality would inherently catch this.
    Full disclosure: I am a big proponent of the E.164-based design and am unlikely to be entirely impartial here.

  • New FIOS customer with dropped VOIP calls and Internet connection

    I am a new FIOS customer. Got my 50/25 connection a week ago, switching from a TWC 6/1 connection. Ever since the new connection, I've had numerous issues.
    My VOIP (Ooma) connection constantly drops and re-connects during conversations
    I've had random Internet connection losses, which picks up again after a few minutes
    My home alarm starts chirping every once in a while
    I've contacted Verizon several times due to these problems and have received varying answers with no resolution of the problem.
    The first time I spoke with support, the tech logged into my router and changed the WiFi channel saying that would fix the problem. It didn’t.
    The second time I contacted them, the tech ran a bunch of diagnostics and said everything looked fine so it must be an IP address conflict with my devices, because I had a couple devices using static IP addresses. He said everythinf should be DHCP and the last two digits could not be higher than 99 (192.168.1.99). He said FIOS does not support 3-digit numbers at the end.
    So I changed all my devices to DHCP and ran some online VOIP tests. It showed a packet loss of 2-5% and MOS score of 1 (which is bad). I was still getting dropped connections, so I disconnected all devices and connected just one computer to the router and tested again. I was still getting packet loss.
    Then I called support a third time, this time the tech said there were no 2-digit IP restrictions and that he was detecting there was no UPS baterry backup for the ONT which was probably causing the problem, so he dispatched a field tech to my house.
    Today the field tech came (same guy as before), he took one look at the box and said it was too close to my Electric meter and the RF from the meter was causing interference to the FIOS connection and resulting in dropped connection.
    He moved the ONT to another location and said that should fix it.
    Well, I'm still seeing packet loss and low MOS score when I run the VOIP test.
    I don't know how much of what the techs are saying is true and how much is made up stuff.
    Has anyone had similar issues and have thoughts on solutions or likely causes for dropped VOIP calls and connections? Could RF be causing this?
    I thought going from a 6/1 Cable connection to a 50/25 FIOS connection would be awesome, but this has turned out to be a nightmare, and I may have to switch back to cable if the problem is not resolved.
    I would appreciate any help.
    Thanks!

    Don't know where the packet loss is happening. I ran the VOIP test on myspeed.visualware.com and it shows a packet loss of 2-5% at different times and a MOS score of 1.
    The report says MOS should be around 4 for good VOIP calls.
    The Verizon tech who came to the house just blamed the electric meter box for RF interference and move the ONT farther away.
    My concern is that I'm getting different answers from different techs at Verizon.
    Regarding IP addresses. The Router shows a DHCP range from 192.162.1.2 to 192.168.1.254 as available for devices on the network. So, if I need to assign a static IP to a device should I use a number below 99 or above 151?
    Thanks!

I have the Earthlink TrueVoice program with a ZyXEL P 600 series DSL modem and direct Ethernet cable (NO router) to my ATA adapter (Linksys VoIP model SPA 2100). My computer is an HP Pavilion 8755C with Windows Millenium Edition. I have a standard (wire) phone connection. After the power was restored to my home, I tried to use my ATA adapter (Linksys VoIP model SPA 2100) to make a phone call, but there was a five-second delay between when I spoke and when someone on the other end of the line heard me. I contacted Earthlink through online chat and was told to do the following: Dial **** 877778 # 1 to reset the adapter. I did this and nothing positive happened (though I did hear a recorded English woman’s voice repeat the numbers I dialed); I did, however, lose the dial tone and was unable to connect to the Internet with my DSL. So, to conduct more online chat, I re-routed the Ethernet cable to bypass the ATA adapter; I was successful at restoring my Internet, but, obviously, I had NO phone service. More than 8 hours of online chats to Earthlink technical service resulted in failure each time. I swapped ends of my cables numerous times – no success. I removed the power cords to the ATA adapter and to the DSL Modem MULTPILE times for for up to 5 minutes – no success. The lights on the back of the ATA lit properly, but since the first time I tried the **** 877778 # 1 code, the Status light blinks and the light indicating “Phone 1” stays dark (yes, there is astandard phoneline connected to that port). I tried multiple codes to reset the ATA (re-coding instructions are separated by semi-colons): **** 877778 # 1 ; **** 877778 # 1 # ; **** 732668 # ; *** *73738 # 1 . I unplugged the power cord and Ethernet cable (to the modem) on the ATA adapter for about 1 or 2 minutes after trying to reset the code before reattaching everything (power cord always re-attached last). I tried each of these suggestions MULTIPLE times without success. One Earthlink tech wanted more specific information – the MAC address (which I was told is a 12 digit hexa decimal number that starts with zero). I told him what it was. He asked me to try a “ping” test; I was told to click on Start -> Run, type in cmd and hit Enter. A new window would appear and I should type in ping 192.168.0.1 and hit Enter. I never got to the “new window” because after I typed in “cmd” and hit Enter, I received the message “Windows cannot find cmd.” I was told to dial the code * * * * 110 # and to hear my IP address; I heard nothing. I noticed that the last time I tried to dial **** 877778 # 1, I was interrupted before I typed the final “1” because the recorded voice told me “invalid value.” Around 1 a.m. last night I gave up in disgust and went to sleep, disconnecting everything. I have now reconnected the DSL modem and made the direct connection to my computer (the ATA adapter is still disconnected from power and all connecting cables). I am not an idiot and I have some electronics experience (I have wired several home theater systems), but I have little computer experience (and none with VoIP) and right now I am totally frustrated. The tech support at Earthlink is virtually worthless. Please help (and please keep it in simple terms so that an ignorant individual like myself might learn – I need a nice step-by-step method (including times to wait between restarts, what cables/cords to disconnect and the order to disconnect/reconnect them (if that matters) to reset this device) Thanks from a neophyte who is not afraid to be honest and show his ignorance in this area of knowledge.

    hi,
    i have a SPA-2100 it's a Sipura, and it now asks for a password. I was putting all my settings in for voip provider and now can not get in my admin? i did try the 73738 and that did not work. I was able to put my providers sip and stun all in. is it i'm locked out from my voip provider? If so why would that be, because this is not their device, it's mine? but how do I get back in my admin or can the voip provider I put in, help?
    thanks

  • Voip application for windows phone 8.1 fails store submission

    A voip application with the new 8.1 architecture based on a separate process for the voip server is not accepted by the store.
    Voip architecture is based on 8.1 sample: https://code.msdn.microsoft.com/windowsapps/ChatterBox-VoIP-WP81-64921ad4
    Errors during submission:
    3011: The package is missing RpalManifest.xml. Update it and then try again.
    1028: The native API api-ms-win-core-processthreads-l1-1-2.dll:ExitProcess() isn’t allowed in assembly doubango.BackEndServerHost.exe. Update it and then try again.

    Update.  I am currently working with the sample team to update the sample.   We found the problem to be in the way the BackEndServerHost VIsual studio
    project was created.   While we work on re-creating that from scratch, testing, and re-publishing I wanted to post what we have done so far in case anyone
    wants to move forward.
    First there are a couple bugs in the sample, maybe you worked around those already in your development but in case not here they are.
    In the backendaudio.cpp BackEndCapture::InitCapture I changed the code:
    if (SUCCEEDED(hr))
    WAVEFORMATEX format = {};
    if (SUCCEEDED(hr))
    FillPcmFormat(format, m_pwfx->nChannels, m_pwfx->nSamplesPerSec, m_pwfx->wBitsPerSample);
    m_sourceFrameSizeInBytes = (format.wBitsPerSample / 8) * format.nChannels;
    hr = m_pDefaultCaptureDevice->Initialize(AUDCLNT_SHAREMODE_SHARED, 0x88140000, 1000 * 10000, 0, &format, NULL);
    The m_pwfx was already retrieved via GetMixFormat earlier, just use that.  Don’t create a custom one.
    In the BackEndAudio::Stop routine change the order of cleanup:
    if (m_pDefaultRenderDevice)
    m_pDefaultRenderDevice->Release();
    m_pDefaultRenderDevice = NULL;
    if (m_pDefaultCaptureDevice)
    m_pDefaultCaptureDevice->Release();
    m_pDefaultCaptureDevice = NULL;
    if (m_pCaptureClient)
    m_pCaptureClient->Release();
    m_pCaptureClient = NULL;
    The next step is to basically delete the BackEndServerHost project and create a new one with the following steps.
    1)  Add a new C++ Dirext X App (Windows Phone) to the solution and name it VoipBackendServerHost  NOTE: using "." in the name causes problems, so don't use the same name as the original sample.
    2)  Remove the Common and Content Folders
    3)  Remove App1Main.cpp and App1Main.h
    4)  Contents of app.cpp should be:
    #include "pch.h"
    #include "App.h"
    #include <windows.applicationmodel.core.h>
    #include <wrl.h>
    #include <string>
    #include <stdexcept>
    using namespace ABI::Windows::ApplicationModel::Core;
    using namespace ABI::Windows::Foundation;
    using namespace Microsoft::WRL;
    using namespace Wrappers;
    HRESULT __cdecl MyGetActivationFactory(_In_ HSTRING activatableClassId, _COM_Outptr_ IInspectable **factory);
    class GetCustomClass : public RuntimeClass<RuntimeClassFlags<RuntimeClassType::WinRtClassicComMix>,
    IGetActivationFactory,
    CloakedIid<IAgileObject >>
    public:
    IFACEMETHODIMP GetActivationFactory(_In_ HSTRING activatableClassId, _COM_Outptr_ IInspectable **factory)
    return MyGetActivationFactory(activatableClassId, factory);
    private:
    HMODULE m_hMod;
    [Platform::MTAThread]
    int main(Platform::Array<Platform::String^>^)
    HRESULT hr = Initialize(RO_INIT_MULTITHREADED);
    if (FAILED(hr))
    throw std::runtime_error(std::string("Failed to Initialize(RO_INIT_MULTITHREADED), HRESULT: ").append(std::to_string(hr)));
    // Scoping for smart pointers
    ComPtr<ICoreApplication> spApplicationFactory;
    hr = GetActivationFactory(HStringReference(RuntimeClass_Windows_ApplicationModel_Core_CoreApplication).Get(), &spApplicationFactory);
    if (FAILED(hr))
    throw std::runtime_error(std::string("Failed to GetActivationFactory(RuntimeClass_Windows_ApplicationModel_Core_CoreApplication), HRESULT: ").append(std::to_string(hr)));
    ComPtr<IGetActivationFactory> spGetActivationFactory = Make<GetCustomClass>();
    spApplicationFactory->RunWithActivationFactories(spGetActivationFactory.Get());
    Uninitialize();
     5) Right click and bring up Project properties.  go To Linker->Input.
     6) Set the Configuration and Platform dropdowns to change all configurations all platforms at the same time
     7) Choose Edit for Additional Dependencies and set to this:
    $(SolutionDir)$(PlatformTarget)\$(Configuration)\BackEnd\PhoneVoIPApp.BackEnd.lib
    WindowsPhoneCore.lib
    RuntimeObject.lib
     8) Under Cofniguration Properties->General Set the Target Name to PhoneVoIP.BackEnd.HostServer and Output directory to $(SolutionDir)UI
     9) APply the settings. Then click OK
    10) Build the Proxy Stub
    11) Build the Agents
    12) Build the new Project
    13) Expand the UI (Windows Phone Silverlight 8.1) Project and find the PhoneVoIP.BackEnd.HOstServer.exe and remove it.
    14) Right click UI and Choose Add Existing and add the PhoneVoIP.BackEnd.HostServer
    This should hopefully get you moving forward.  Please test and make sure your application is working. The end result should pass WACK now.  Please let me know if there are any issues.  It is a lot of steps and I hope I didn't miss any.

    Hi guys and Saravanan thank for the ideas....
    the qualituy is getting better, not satisfactory for the customer though...
    I have upgraded the firware as advised to 1.4.3 - I forgot to mention I have 7925g wifi phonee
    I set the 802.1x + cckm with eap-fast and WPA2 and definately the quality of the calls got a huge improvement but still not enough. What can be the reason for the confinuing problems during roaming?
    Guys, is it possible to set the CCKM without ACS (or WDS - i think that was the second option)

  • CME 7.1 with SCCP 7940G phones and SIP connection to a VOIP provider - inbound outbound fails

    Here's a quick and dirty diagram of a CME 7.1 configuration. The phone can all call each other but something is not quite right with the SIP provider. The registrar and SIP registration pieces are working but most of the configuration examples that I've seen make me think that the CME router was being used as the edge device to the internet. From my drawing, you can see that is not the case here. My edge device is a Cisco ASA5505 with 9.2.x software running. I might be missing something in the SIP gateway knowledge department. Without diving into the configuration, I'm wondering if SIP messages are failing for calls because of NAT'ing? Trying to do searches has been tricky because I keep running into information that is more about setting up CME for SIP phones or just getting SIP to work between CME and a SIP provider. I have that part working. I'm just a bit unsure about how an SCCP 7940G gets an outbound call or even gets one to come in.
    When I dial from my cell phone to the pilot number, there are no rings, it just goes to the VOIP provider's voice mail. When I try to dial out, I get a fast busy.
    So, is NAT a consideration? Will the SIP gateway set up a call (forward) via the pre-established SIP connection? Yeah, I do sound like a newb.
    If anyone has good information about, let's say, an inbound call and how that traffic flow works.
    Thanks!

    Have you configured your ASA to either NAT the IP address of the CME router or to do port forwarding for port 5060?

  • Do I need a service call to disconnect the ONT from my house wiring after going from FIOS to VoIP?

    I recently converted from FIOS to cable phone service (VoIP) (my FIOS contract was up and the cable compan offered me a better deal over the next two years -- no complaints about FIOS itself). Since I converted, I've been having all kinds of problems with the phone service, and all of the problems exist only when I use the house wiring -- when I connect a phone right to the cable modem, it works perfectly. I disconnected the ONT's battery backup unit and unplugged it, but that caused me to lose the dial tone after a few seconds -- I got nothing, and then a fast busy (again, this happened only when I was connected to the house wiring -- it didn't happen when I used a phone that was connected directly to the cable modem). Putting the battery back into the ONT's battery backup and plugging it back in corrected that issue. Additionally, I don't get a triple beep when I pick up the phone if there's a voice mail, nor does the phone's display screen indicate that there is a message waiting. In short, it appears that the house wiring is still connected to Verizon's system. The cable company says the house wiring isn't connected to the old (analog) Verizon box outside the house, but it says it can't touch the ONT. Do I have to have Verizon come over to disconnect the house wiring from the ONT, or can I do it myself? If Verizon comes to do it, will I get charged? Thanks. David Ross {edited for privacy}

    The ONT should have a place for customer connections. Either a RJ-11 plug that can be unpluged or wires on red and green terminals that can be disconnected and isolated with tape or wire nuts. Sorry to see you go, I have been happy and will never go back. Well never is a long time.

  • VOIP over VPN dropp RTP protocol

    We are installing a new 2911 ISR in our office and connecting with a Linksys (CISCO) RV016 VPN router.  These are two small doctors offices that need to have computer, and Voip traffic over a VPN.
    Currently we connect an older RV082 and the RV016 together and have NO issues with VOIP traffic.  If we establish a connection with the 2911 router then we are having an issue with no voice or RTP traffic coming through.  Phones will connect, and dial out, but no voice can be heard.
    The First office is on a Verizon Fios Network with a MTU of 1492. The Network and servers are as follows:
    Remote Office                                                                            Main Office
    Linksys Spa 942 phones
                   |

                   +=======================================+     Asterisk
                                                                                                                  (Call Man)
    Basically we have the Internet coming in from Gig0/0 and routing traffic to multiple outside IP addresses so we are using 3 subs in our configuration.
    192.168.1.X          192.168.2.X          192.168.3.X               192.168.0.X (Remote Group)
    When we connect the old routers (RV016 and RV082) VPN VOIP and Data traffic go fine.   We are using a Term Server on one end, Web Server, and the Asterisk PBX for our VOIP Call Manager.
    So far we connect up the 2911 and the RV016 and have no issues with data traffic.  But the VOIP is dead on the remote end.  No sound.  We did a Wireshark on traffic, and we are getting some 407 errors from the Astersick Host, and a unknown RTP version 1 error message.  THe only thing that we had to do on the RV082 router was port forward UDP 506 and 10001 - 20000 for the traffic, and setup a access rule, but nothing else.
    We are getting traffic on the 2911, but nothing else.  We have excluded the 192.158.0.X traffic from the NAT so not to get into that issue, and have even tried forwarding ports but nothing seems to help.  Is there a good way to route this traffic?  Our bandwidth is pretty fast so I am not sure if QoS is needed, but if so it is not one of my strong areas.  What is the best way to route this traffic through the VPN without loosing the RTP part of the call.

    I put this line in and still not getting audio on the other end.  I will be doing captures tonight from working and non working phones.  I need to get this resolved.  I have spent 3 weeks on this issue and I have run out of time.  Should I use the DEBUG VOIP SIP command for the capture on the router?  I believe this would be the best resolution to the service to see what is going on.  The phones work with a RV016 and RV082 router in place.  All data traffic works fine in sending and recieving calls.
    I have read about all of the articles on Cisco and voip traffic.  We are going to be shutting off the natting on the router to see if I can just get the voip traffic to flow.  Once we get it flowing then I can work on building up the house on a stable foundation.
    At this time, we are routing multiple IP addresses throught the 2911 and have IP NAT OUTSIDE on the G0/0 port and IP NAT INSIDE on the G1/0 Interface, which is a POE Switch Module in the 2911.
    I know that the cisco router wants to act as a call manager, or terminate the SIP traffic on the 2911, but we have a working Asterisk box that handles all SIP traffic.  If there is a way to just forward the traffic there properly, without the 2911 trying to intercept the traffic, that would be wonderful.  I am looking at the possibility of creating dial-peer groups for all of the phones, but really is this needed?  What is so frustrating about the whole situation is that I put in a 5 year old sub $200 router and everything works.

  • VoIP over VPN won't work

    Hi,
    I have a Cisco ASA 5540 running 8.2(5). When I dial a phone on the other of the the VPN the first time I get a blank after it rings(i.e when the voice mail get activated ot if someone picks the phone up), however works the second and consequent times i dial.
    A little background.
    Two sites A and B connected via IPsec Tunnel. No problems in communication except for the VoIP issue.
    A Phone in on site A(172.17.168.x) and other on site B(192.168.103.x)
    SiteA and SiteB is connected via an IPsec tunnel on the Cisco ASA.
    First call fails.
    Second call works.
    Result of a packet trace is also the same. The UDP packet get drops when tried for the first time but subsequent ones pass.
    Any ideas on how to fix this?

    No I haven't, but I'll call them today. That doesnt explain the VPN stopped working though, and at this point I'd rather have L2TP/IPSec working to my box at home, rather than an unencrypted session running over port 445. Appreciate the suggestion though...

    Hi,
    Recently I have implemented Site-to-Site VPN between ASA and sonic wall firewall.
    Problem: I can able to make call from ASA side(inside) Ip phone to sonic wall (inside) side Ip phone and vice versa and it’s ringing, But not able to hear voice. So I created VOIP over VPN configuration and applied appropriate service policy towards outside interface. But still I was not able to hear voice.
    Tried below mentioned t’shot steps:
    From ASA side we had two subnets (10.20.1.x/24 – Data and 10.20.2.x/24 – Voice ) and one subnet (192.168.x.x/24 ) from sonic wall side as interesting traffic ( lan to lan). When I configured site-to-site configuration on both ends my phase-1 and phase-2 came UP and can able to communicate between each other. (In interesting traffic I created two objects and bind those objects as one object-group for source i.e. ASA side lan subnet and one object for remote-Lan as destination)
    My call manager is rest behind ASA and Ip phones needs to communicate from sonic wall side to inside ASA.
    I can able to make call from ASA side(inside) Ip phone to sonic wall (inside) side Ip phone and vice versa and it’s ringing, But not able to hear voice. So I created VOIP over VPN configuration and applied appropriate service policy towards outside interface. But still I was not able to hear voice.
    So, I  done supernetting the data subnet and voice subnet into single network i.e. 10.20.x.x/16 at ASA side and applied the configuration changes (changed ACL, nonat rule, Voice QOS ACL accordingly), and I’m able to hear voice both end and I can communicate properly from ASA inside Ip phone to Sonic wall inside Ip phone and vice versa.
    My question: I’m not understanding the logic how this supernetting resolved dead voice issue.
    Pls clarify my question I’m bit confused on this.

    It's not recommended. Although VPNs guarantee a secure pipe end-to-end, they don't guarantee latency and variations in latency (Jitter).
