VOIP PROBLEM

Respected All,
hope every thing would be going fine with you. i'm deploying VOIP in my company & before deploying i
want to ask some questions from you..
here are the requirements of my company,
1) Connect with branches as an extension
2) National calls as local calls
3) International calls with minimal cost
4) call branches from house
5) call Jeddah & Riaydh City from Dammam customers locally
First of all in my company they have 2600 series
router & i think 2600 support voice , so if i want to
purchase voice card for this which voice card is
better for my company.. we've mainly 3 main branches
in 3 main cities of saudi arabia i.e Dammam, Riyadh &
Jeddah i'm also attaching the diagram of my network..
also tell me that is it neccesarry to purchase cisco IP Phone in order to deploy VOIP or any digital phone
will work or even analog phone will work, another
thing is that if we purchase IP Phone so i'm
suggesting 7960G as it has much features comparing
other phone as we have connectivity over DSL, also for wireless i think 7920 is used.... also for local
we will use this command in order to define local
extensions (within Dammam City)
dial-peer voice 10 pots
destination-pattern 323
port 1/0/0
dial-peer voice 10 pots
destination-pattern 321
port 1/0/0
defining extentions for riyadh or jeddah (other
cities)
dial-peer voice 10 voip
destination-pattern 101
sesstion-target ipv4:140.4.10.1
does deploying voip means to deploy IP Telephony
as well or in which case we'll deploy ip telephony as
much as i know that if we want to remove PBX then we will deploy Ip telephony if i'm not wrong pls give details abt this as well..
another thing is that i'm listing the things which
we need to deploy if u think that we need any other
thing other then this than pls let me know..
1) 2600 series router
2) Voice card (pls let me know which card to use)
3) connectivity b/w 3 branches(which we have thru
DSL)
Also if we want to connect international call
which i know that it is illegal to make such call but here it is our requirement, so can u pls
send me command to connect international locations..
i'm also attaching diagram of our network & also
requirements , pls let me know if i'm correct or i
need more correction.. also is there any
restriction in defining pots or voip extension or
what.. waiting for ur prompt reply...
Regards,
Abbas

  • E65 VOIP Problems

    Hi,
I was going to post 2 problems I had. But I remain with only one.
The first problem I had was that I couldn't receive VOIP calls with my E65 anymore. This was in the end linked to the undocumented Menu -> Tools -> Settings -> Call -> Internet call alert.
If you have this setting on "Off" you will not receive internet calls, only a message that you have a missed call.
I hoped that I could change the behavior of my second problem with this setting. The problem is that when I use voice dialing to make calls, and I've enabled the setting that my default calling type is Internet, I get a warning message about no WLAN available.
This is quite annoying since that message kinda removes the advantage of voice dialing. This because you still need to operate the phone, to say Yes to the question wether or not to make a mobile call.
Does anyone know how to disable that question? If you use the address book to call you don't get this message. Only if you use voice dialing :-(

  • E63 and VOIP problem, pls help

    Hi Guys
I got Nokia e63 and have successfully configured local VOIP number but it works when I use the " mobile internet" or " my service provider internet " as my default access point not my home wireless connection.
When I set my home wireless connection as default access point inside sip settings then I can make calls but cannot receive , I thought my netgear router or firewall causing problem , i configured e71 ( my friend's fone) and it work both ways without any problem.
when i change the access point to other than home wireless , no issues on e63 , incoming and outgoing work like a charm.
any known issues ? please advise bcoz its consumin my mobile internet
    many thanks

I have a similar problem, I have my E63 for five months now, For first 2 months i was able to make voip calls no problem and was very happy.
I was using Mo-Call and Skype. First of all I noticed a degrading of my Mo-Call where I would have to dial several times to get through. then I was unable to connect at all. If I dial a number now I can sometimes hear a dial tone, the phone at the other end rings and picks up. I cant hear them and they cant hear me. annoying thing is that I get billed for the call by my voip service providers.
I soldiered on with skype which has now downgraded to the point that I can only communicate with instant messaging although it still rings me and I can ring out.
I have checked and my nokia software is up to date. needless to say I checked with several known good wi-fi points and no luck. I have had friends check thier smart phones on my wi-fi and all had no problems.
Mo-Call worked hard to try to identify the problem but my account with them works if I try it on other phones.
I find Nokia Customer Care website difficult to work with. I have been directed to thier local agent here in Dublin (Fonemenders)  whos phone leads to an answering machine. a message was left and they do not respond.
    Any help greatly appreciated.

  • N95 VOIP Problem

After hours of trying, I cannot get VOIP calls to work on my N95 (unbranded).
I have tried truphone and mobiboo. With truphone, I registered and installed the wizard which did all the settings but when I try and connect through the WLAN, it keeps saying cannot connect.
I opened the necessary ports and changed to TCP as the helpguide suggested.
Has anyone managed to get truphone working?
    Please help! Thanks

    Hi oregon,
Try changing the 'Transport type' back to UDP and the 'Port' to 5062. Restart the phone and see if it will then register.
If you still have problems log into your Truphone account and submit a support request.Message Edited by damocles on 07-May-2007 02:26 PM

  • N8 VOIP Problem

I had my Broadvoice VOIP service working fine on my N8.
I subsequently updated the phone software to v1.1.  I also installed Skype and a couple of other apps.  The next time I tried to use Broadvoice, registration failed.
I completely removed my Broadvoice profile and Broadvoice (Advanced VOIP) settings, and started again from scratch.  Only once I found that the Broadvoice profile said "registered" but it would not call our (busy signal and a display message saying Broadvoice was not available).
I then noticed that Broadvoice was showing "registered" on another phone that I have, and I could call out on it.  I shut down that phone, thinking that my N8 was not working with Broadvoice because of a conflict with the other phone.  However, I have not seen "Registered" again.  I have made sure that I have an internet connection, that all other apps are shut down, and that AWCDMA and UAWMAC are both "on."
    Any suggestions?

    Problem Solved!
The moral of this tale is this:  double check, triple check, quadruple check to be sure that every profile entry has been made correctly.  A tiny typing error will prevent everything from working.

  • VoIP problem Nokia E52

    Hi!
I have a problem trying to setup JustVoIP service on my Nokia E52. I installed the VoIP Settings Manager and set up everything as below:
    Profile Name: justvoip
    Service Profile: IETF
Default Destination: Internet (I am using VoIP via my Home-WLAN)
    Default Access Point:  none
Public Username: sip:[email protected] (Note: “sip:” will always be added automatically)
    Use compression: No
Registration: When needed or always on (choose your preference)
    Use Security: No
Proxy & Registration Server have identical(!) values:
    Server Address: sip:sip.justvoip.com
    Realm: justvoip.com
    User name: YOURJUSTVOIPUSERNAME
    Password: YOURJUSTVOIPPASSWORD
    Allow loose routing: Yes
    Transport type: UDP
    Port: 5060
I see the service but I cannot enable it. Whan I try to activate, the message "Invalid settings" appeares. The most funny thing is, that at the beginnig it worked fine! With the same settings! Anybody know, what is going on here?
    Thank you for your help!

Same issue on E72 and XM 5630 here. Other people experienced it also with N97.
you can read this info in http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/forum/showthread.php?t=192607
VoIP3.x registers a user, it writes a randomly translated username in the contact URI, i.e. aweofj293j2c0239jdwiofje0@nataddress instead of username@nataddress
Ougoing calls are not an issue (when the client succeeds to register) howevver for incoming calls the server has to put this translatedusername in the request-URI of his INVITE. Some Registars do that, but yours and mine don't.
This interpretation of how SIP should work by Nokia was not implemented in prior versions of Nokia VoIP settings (v 2. and v 1 used on FP1 models such as E61, N95, etc) thus enabling incoming calls to work for all.
Now however it seems this is the new standard Nokia has chosen to go for with all new models thus leaving us with a choice to either :
1- have our service providers patch their registrars to make them work with this new Nokia implementation or
2- use alternative third party VoIP apps for our devices instead of the native/integrated Nokia SIP client. or
3- change SIP service provider to use ones that run Registrars compatible with this new implementation...

  • RV042G Voip Problems

I have a SB setup with 2 200-series Smart Switches with a RV042G Roouter in Gateway mode. The smartswitches are breaking up the broadcast domains internally via VLan and the RV042G is prviding WAN access to both switches while keeping the two seperated by setting the Vlan ID's on each router port to different numbers. This works very well but I am having a problem with my Phone.com Voip services. I can make outgoing call just fine but incoming will not make it through to the handsets. I have tried turning off the firewall, disabling WAN2, and turning the firewall back on and setting an acces rule for ALL traffic to the local IP range that my phones are assigned to. Nothing works!! I swapped out the RV042G with a Residential EA4500 and it works GREAT so I know it is not the service provider. The only problem with leaving the EA4500 on is that it has no port Vlan capabilities so, although my VLAN setups in each switch seperate out fine, I can talk from any device on switch 1 to any device on switch 2, and vice versa, because there is no vlan seperation at layer 3 with this router. This is a MAJOR security risk because I have a web server on switch 2.
What gives here?? Is the RV042G just NOT GOING to play well with VOIP or what??

  • Possible causes of VoIP problems

    Hi all,
What are the probable causes of VoIP flaps..??
We are having IP phones (Cisco 7960G and 7940G) installed at our place..
From last 1 month we are facing lots of voice issues..like below
    1) Sometimes while users are attending their calls on IP phones, the IP Phones inadvertently goes in initial configuration mode like "Configuring IP" and users get disconnected from their voice application. After that further processing goes about and after that the voice issue is automatically solved...
2)The IP Phones boot on their own..
    3) Sometimes while doing the imaging (Ghost) of Operating systems or some other Applications, IP Phones face the same problem...i.e. go into initial configuration mode...
Important thing to notice is that during this voice problems, there is no data issue seen. PCs work fine ..only the voice gets affected...
We were not facing such problems earlier..but this is happening from some 15-20 days.
    Could anybody help with this???
    Parag Patil

    Hi,
    Thanks for the reply..
You told this might be due to ghosting software packages on the network with lots of 7905 IP Phones...But we are using 7960 and 7940 Ip Phones..And sometimes, we don't face problems on the locations where software are installed using ghosting...and sometimes yes...
It's really a conundrum to understand the reason...
Currently we are using 7.1 SIP version...
The Problems come unexpectedly and goes solved automatically...
Is there any bug in 7.1 version??If yes..upgrading to which version could solve this problem??
    Awaiting your valuable reply,
    Parag

  • Nokia N82 VOIP problems

I have VOIP set up on my N82.
It works perfectly if I put the IP address of the VOIP server in, and remove it for the realm and proxy. However, I need to do this every hour or I get 'registration failed'
Any ideas? It's becoming really annoying!

    TaZ
What do you exactly mean by saying "i don't have any "Internet Tel" pictogram"?
The built-in SIP VoIP client is there, and it is at Rel. 2.3 level.
You first have to choose a SIP provider, sign up for his services, buy some credit, ask for his typical settings, add your credentials, and create a SIP profile.
You will then be able to define an Internet Telephone call profile.
To attain better control over parameters of the SIP profile that are not accessible to the user, it is recommended to install the proper SIP VoIP Settings Software:

For the E51 - select the 2.x version (approx. 88KB)
Did you read the E51 Guide?

  • Router 2911 with voice card VIC3-E/M VOIP Problem

    hi All
I want to ask if any of you have any experience like this. I have deployed a new Cisco router (model 2911) in my client. The previous router they used is 2811. After deployement, the WAN & LAN connection work fine, but the VOIP connection does not work.
The previous router (2811) uses a voice card module VIC2-e/m. But the new router (2911) use voice card module VIC3-e/m. It is used to connect to the PABX Panasonic TD-1232.
    Could this be a factor?
    Can anyone help?

    Hi,
In addition to what Terry has said, the only change is IOS 15.1 where Toll Fraud Prevention feature was introduced which says
The router will automatically add any destinations that are defined as an ipv4 target in a VoIP dial-peer to the trusted source list. You can run the command
    show ip address trusted list
To overcome this behaviuor, you can follow the three ways as suggested in below link  .The one has been already suggested by Terry.
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/document/46566/understanding-toll-fraud-enhancements-1512t
your 28XX router has 12.4 IOS version

  • N85 Voip problem

    Hi
I have installed the Voip advanced settings on my N85 but can only make outgoing calls.
I am getting no SIP errors on incoming yet no calls come through.
Is it a software glitch or have i done something wrong?

    That probably explains it.
If the phone is disconnecting from the PBX when it doesn't need to place a call then the PBX won't be able to pass any inbound calls to it.
I get the impression that you run the PBX software in-house (asterisk?) so you should be able to query the registered devices and follow logs when you try and pass a call to the N85.

i hava two people working with vpn they use ipcomunicator but the problem is that the phone ring ok, we hear, when we hook the phone nobody can hear nothing, however i press hold they can hear the music on hold.. some one can help me.

    Hey few questions.
    1. Are you using the latest IP communicator version?
    2. Are you running the latest version of Cisco VPN client?
I have seen where when one of these are not up to date you can run into huge problems. What version of UC are you running with?

  • Linksys EA3500 Signal Problems: How to Adjust for Maximum Stability

I have ATT DSL service; 6Mbps down, .5 Mbps up.  That is the maximum offered where I live.  I have  no phone service on the line and use VOIP.  I have discovered that the QOS degrades to awful at random times.  Awful means .79 down, .24 up, with ping of 430 ms, Jitter at 100, and Packet Loss unmeasurable.   Unfortunately, and I say this because ATT won't do anything about it, if I perform cold start on my network, after an initial somewhat unstable period of a couple of minutes, the network stabilizes at a good QOS.  The VOIP goes from unintelligible to working fine.
I've set my EA3500 QOS settings so that the VOIP unit (OOMA) has top priority.  Other streaming units (Blue Ray/Amazon Prime and Dish) come next, then internet.  The streaming units are not a factor in this because they are not on when the VOIP problems occur.  (Although, when the units are on, we can see the signal dipping below 1 Mbps at times and the video freezes while the stream catches up.)
What functionality can I manipulate on the EA3500 to maximize stability and monitor the signal in so that I can present ATT with an indisputable trace of poor signal data.

I do not think there’s something we can do on the router since obviously the issue is with the modem through your internet provider. I suggest, you run a speed test from the modem at least 5 times; observe and record the speed you’re getting in every test. Inform then your ISP about it. They could also perhaps troubleshoot the modem to make sure it is working properly. Everything should be good from their end considering the VOIP service is supported by it and not by the router.
