Vol. control screwy on MuVo TX FM

I just bought two MuVo TX FM 52's, and they each have the same problem with the FM radio: When listening to an FM station, as you increase the volume, it's barely audible until setting 32. Then at setting 33 it jumps way up, really loud. This same phenomenon occurs on both 52's at exactly the same settings. However, this does not occur when playing recorded music or voice recordings; only FM radio.
My daughter has a MuVo TX FM 256, and hers doesn't have this problem with the radio.
Any suggestions? (Otherwise, I LOVE these little things!)

Go to the download page, download and update the latest firmware available to the player. That should help.

Using Playlist to control sequence for Muvo TX

Just got my Muvo TX FM and dumped my first collection of songs on it using Windows Media Player 0. First thing I noticed is that the play sequence on the Muvo is not at all the same as was in the playlist on WMP 0. Play sequence matters to me. Is there a way to load a playlist onto the Muvo and have it control the sequence of songs played?

IPhone vol control doesn't function when on cradle

Is this a BUG? When on the cradle and playing music, the volume control ceases to work as soon as a stereo output plug (3.5mm) is attached to outboard sound.

I'm not sure if I am the first one to notice this but, line-out volume on the iPhone is not consistent and can be affected by the volume level setting prior to connecting to dock.
An example, I have a ipod connector in my car. if I connect my ipod to my car stereo with the volume on the iphone set low, music coming through the stereo is lower. To increase this volume I have to disconnect the iphone and turn up the volume then reconnect.
Also, I've noticed that if I play a youtube video and turn up the volume during video play back and then connect the iphone to my car dock connector the line-out volume is even louder.
I'm not sure if this is because the connector is not designed for iPhone specifically but I've noticed this behavior with most ipod speakers.

10.1 UPDATE VOL CONTROL Ih

prior to update to 10.1 on my wife's Z she could temporarily use the vol button on the side to lower the vol to zero without going to Notifications. After update that function no longer works, while the on screen indicator shows the volum lowering the actual vol level remains as set in Notifications. Is anyone else experiencing this? Or is it a bug that came with 10.1?

It is added functionality. You can now choose to have the volume buttons only affect the media on the device or the notifications.
To have it affect notifications again, go to settings > main volume > and turn off the "always adjust media volume"
Personally I like the fact that the volume buttons can no longer accidentally adjust my ringer volume.
You can simply tap the notifications ICON to toggle between vibrate/silent (whichever is last set) and normal very quickly.

Navigate in songs instead of vol. control during playback

Hi everybody,
I am using a 80GB iPod classic, and although I am pleased with it there is one annoying thing:
When I listen to a song and want to change the playing position I always have to click the center button twice because the first control that appears is volume control. As I usually try to keep the volume at the same level and rather skip within songs I wonder if there is a setting somewhere in the iPod software to change that. So that if I click on the center button one time I than can change position, and only after a second click I can change the volume.
Maybe someone knows a solution to that.
Also, an A - B play function would be heavily appreciated!

I always have to click the center button twice because the first control that appears is volume control.
When in the "now playing" screen you click the centre button once to get to the ff and rew option (where a small diamond shape appears in the progress bar). Clicking the centre button twice should take you to ratings screen. You shouldn't have to click the centre button +at all+ to adjust the volume.
Also, an A - B play function would be heavily appreciated!

Add Vol controls to non-Apple USB Keyboard?

Hi all. I just bought the Kensington Spillproof USB keyboard (for obvious reasons). The only problem with it is that it lacks the volume up, down, and mute buttons that the Apple keyboards have. Is there any way I can make a shortcut (possibly using the F keys) to control sound levels from my keyboard like I used to be able to do on my Apple board? Thanks!

MuVo does not show up in "My Comput

I have an Emachines 2.92 ghz system with 024 ram running Windows XP and I do have Adminstrati've rights. I installed the software on my computer as instructed. When I rebooted and then attached the Muvo txfm to my usb port. The Muvo screen shows the moving USB icon as pictured in the instruction manual but it was NOT recognized in "My Computer".
There was something under "Control Panel" called Muvo system folder I think and when I clicked that, it said there was no dri've connected and that I should connect the dri've to the USB port. But it already was connected. I tried another USB port but the system would not recognize it from there either. It is listed in Device manager under dri'ves and there is no question mark or exclaimation mark there or anywhere in Device Mgr. but when I select the dri've to go into "Properties" the computer freezes for about 20 seconds. Then properties opens up and it says "there is no problem with this device." A window came up in my taskbar saying there was a problem with hardware installation so the device may not work properly. I disconnected all usb devices and connected the Muvo again but it doesn't show up. Then I rebooted, attached the device again but still the same problem. Then I unistalled the software and attached the device to the USB port and a window came up saying the hardware was installed and the device was now ready for use but it still is not in "MY Computer" so I am unable to access the device to do anything with it. It is in Device Mgr as "disk dri've" now. Then I deleted the device from Device Mgr and rebooted. I installed the driver update called "MStorage_PCDRV_LB__07_00_250.exe" from your website and then plugged the Muvo into the USB port again and it showed up there as Muvo TXFM but still not in My Computer listing.
I tried to install the Firmware update from your website called: "MuVoTXFM_PCFW_LF__9_0.exe" but because the Muvo doesn't show up in "MY computer" it is unable to find the device and it just hangs as it looks for the device.
OK, now I'm thinking the Muvo is a defecti've player so I plugged it into my 998 Dell computer running Windows Me. with no software installation at all and it showed up in "My Computer" in a matter of seconds. I even put a song on it from the Dell computer. So wassup?

P.S. I also did these two registry fixes allowing permissions on both (but they were already set to that anyhow) so it did not fix it:

And also I downloaded and installed the three microsoft fixes I found on one of the many posts I read on this forum for media player and something else. I cant remember what, I am just so exhausted!

Connect your player and find its entry in Device Manager. Click on Remove then disconnect player. Also select Show Hidden Devices and remove any extra entries for your player.
Go to Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs and remove the MuVo drivers, Mediasource and Media Explorer software.
Reboot PC and then re-connect player - it should be detected immediately by XP.
Another thing it might be is if you are using a front-mounted USB port on your PC - these don't always supply enough current. They allow the player to be seen but not enough to actually do anything with it.
If you choose View Devices by Connection in Device Manager with the player connected and drill down to find the entry for your player, you can look at the properties for the controller and hub that it is connected to. One of these shows the current equired and the current available.

Can't control the volume of speakers on external monitor using volume buttons on macbook keyboard

The problem is exactly like this http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3520 except the update is for an older operating system, (I'm using lion). I can't find a solution that works for lion.
I am using a non-apple monitor connected by a thunderbolt to hdmi cable. the monitor has built in speakers.

The keyboard buttons work only for the internal speakers and headphones/earbuds BECAUSE the headphones/earbuds don't have vol control on them, and the external has a knob.
If you still have NO SOUND @ ALL, you need drivers/tech support

Keyboard volume control

Hi all
I have a new G5 iMac connected to a hi-fi but I can't get the keyboard volume/mute keys to work. I've used both a usb-line device and a minijack into the headphone socket. Sound is great using either, but I'd like to mute it from the keyboard. Anyone know why it doesn't appear to work?

with the USB device (it's an Edirol UA-1A) sound prefs are greyed out. Having checked again I find I can use the key board vol controls for line out - it's just the usb device that I can't.
Guess I'll stick to the line out device.

Incoming MIDI data from unassociated devices still gets sent out in 2.1.3

The problem I have reported numerous times for previous versions of MainStage is still present in 2.1.3.
An incoming MIDI CC value that is NOT associated with a device is being sent to other channel strips. Last night before rehearsal, I added a Minimoog XL into my rig. It's connected via its own MIDI port on a MOTU 128 Express. I discovered that when I turned the Vol control on the Minimoog, it sent out CC 7 and CC 39 (LSB values for volume) messages to a channel strip associated with a VocalLive voice processor and had absolutely NOTHING to do with the Minimoog.
As reported before, this also happens for CC80 and CC81 and I cannot see any reason why such events would get sent out to other channel strips if there is no explicit mapping defined.
I had to add in new dummy knobs to explicitly block these values, further polluting my layout, which is already full of knobs defined just for blocking stuff.
A generic MIDI device set to listen on all inputs and MIDI channels with output blocked does NOT stop this from happening.

(I've already submitted this at the feedback link (which, by the way, has no entry for 2.1.3 in it) but I am quite pessimistic about this getting fixed, it has survived many versions of MainStage....I don't understand why)
This is so disappointing.

That's partially why I'm so concerned about this --- I cannot conceive of a scenario where this behavior makes any sense --- essentially some external synth can generate arbitrary MIDI data which just goes out through other channels, and that data is at best of no interest and at worst can actually screw up the receiving device (which happened to me when my Korg Oasys was sending out CC80/CC81 as part of a program change and it was changing a parameter on my Minimoog)
It seems to me that they could have fixed this quite easily by providing (perhaps an extended version of) a MIDI Device that REALLY blocks everything so users with the problem could just throw that one gadget into the layout instead of having to make a bunch of knobs to block all sorts of things.

Satellite P10-504 - Slow system start

Hi again, help if you can.
My laptop takes good 8 minutes to get to the point when I can use it. Yet it only takes just over a minute to bring up all my desk top icons. The problem is the blue bar at the bottom, that's what takes the time to load, there's only 4 to load when desktop opens the only one is present and that is the speaker icon [vol control] the other three wireless icon, and the local area icon ,and windows one care icon,takes an age to come on.
I went into start up items and not knowing what to stop. I tick them all to not start but still it takes about eight minutes. Sometimes longer to fully operate, whilst I am waiting the blue disk light is full on. Any ideas appreciated.
I do use uni blue ,reg cleaner along with one care, neither at start up.

I also dont know why it takes 8 minutes until you can use your notebook but normally such problems are caused due the installed software and many programs start up folder.
You should remove all programs from start up folder that you dont need and check also msconfig (Start > run > msconfig). There you can also disable some start up programs that you dont need.
Furthermore uninstall all applications that you dont need and clean the registry using CCleaner.
If nothing does work you should reinstall Windows using Toshiba recovery disk. After recovery installation it should take 1 or 2 minutes until you can use notebook.

Lumia 920 Sennheiser CX 680i mic and volume proble...

Hi all
I just got a pair of Sennheiser CX 680i. They are iPhone compatible but I didn't know that they only partially work with my Lumia 920.
The play/pause, skip forward and backward are working fine. But the mic and volume don't. I read that it's because apple products don't uses the AHJ standard.
I would really like to be able to use the mic and vol control. Is it possible to buy some kind og adapter? Or are there any other solutions to the problem?

Coordinating mp3 Player w/ a loaded swf containing songs

Can Anyone please help me!! I am using MX Pro 2004.
I have an mp3 player loading my mp3's via an external xml
file, it works fine on the 'main' fla file.
My site is set up like this: main fla. file with every page
(external swf) loading into it.
I have a 'discography' page that you can flip through
different CD's, each with a list of it's songs, and a 'play' button
next to each. =How= do I get those play buttons to -coordinate-
with the mp3 player on the main fla.????????
The player has,(besides the usual ff/rr/stop,pause and play)
a vol. control, a loading bar and cd title and song title read out
for each tune. I -need- he songs on the externally loading
'discography.swf' to be able to call the -specified song- when the
button next to it is pressed -and- Stop whatever else is playing.
And =How= do I get the mp3 player buttons to behave on those
somgs?????
I have searched, tried everthing I could find code-wise and
I'm at a loss. I'm supposed to have this ready by tomorrow!!
Anyone?? I know there must be a way...I just don't know how

I RESOLVED THE ISSUE.
I have my MP3 player using an XML file to get file data from, such as the artist name and location of the MP3 files. I had the MP3 files in a folder called audio. What resolved the issue was taking the MP3 files out of the audio folder and putting them in the root directory with all of my PHP and SWF files. So, the audio files went from 'audio\christmas.mp3' to just 'christmas.mp3'.
It's still weird that Flash grabs the audio files just fine when they were in the audio folder when I accessed the SWF file from my C drive. The issue comes about when I try to access the MP3 files in the audio folder when trying to go through Apache web server. So, yes, I am saying there is something that Apache is not configured correctly to do and I suggested my web hosting service to figure it out, because they kept blamming JavaScript or some other web dev item as the issue. Even though it is messy to have all the MP3 files in the root directory, with the rest of my files, at least my MP3 player works in all 5 major browsers now.

Locaton & Security (My Location) Settings Grayed Out

I recently added Where'sMyDroid from the marketplace (helps locate missing phone, gives GPS location of lost phone). After that, my GPS stopped working. Using the Android Power widget, I was able to turn it back on but when I go to Location & Security>My Location, only the E911 is shown in bold. The other three choices ("Google Location Services," Standalone GPS Services," and "VZW Location Services") are all checked in their green boxes but all three are grayed out leaving me unable to check or uncheck any one of them. Anyone else encountered this? May or may not be related at all to Where'sMyDroid...just that was the last thing that changed before I noticed the problem. Uninstalling that ap doesn't do it, either.

To get to the SYSTEM MENU :
- Power OFF
- Press & HOLD the HOME button (2nd button from left)
- Power up - continue to hold HOME
You'll see a triangle with the droid guy inside. Release the HOME button. Press BOTH the up/down vol. controls at the same time and you should see a Menu pop up ... use the down arrow to scroll through choices. Select WIPE SYSTEM CACHE WIPE CACHE PARTITION.. and press the Power button to select it .. When complete, the option should be highlighted to REBOOT ... press Power button to select that .. Check your settings again.
