Voltage alarm with PCI Alert III

Hi,
I have installed a 845eMax motherboard with Pentium 4 2.0. The 3.3v voltage continously goes down below the 2,93 threshold in the PCI Alert III software. Is this dangerous? I have recently bought the computer and I could change the motherboard if it were broken.

I think the PC Alert III is a quite unexact device and cannot be trusted. It has only informative function.
I had before an 250 W PSU and changed to Enermax 433 W.
I have exact the same voltage values with both PSU s.
V core 1.71-1.74V
3.3V 3.21-3.31V
5 V 4.92-4.95V
12V 12.00-12.10V

Hi,
I have a 645E Max-C motherboard with a P4-2.26Ghz CPU.
The 3.3v voltage meter measures 3.04 normally and drops below the 3.00 threshold when running Games, Graphic demos etc.
Im using an ASUS V8440 Graphic card.
The PSU (400 watt) amps are:
+3.3V - 28A
+5V - 40A
+12V - 18A
-5V - 1.0A
-12V - 1.0A
+5VSB- 3.0A
I'm also getting frquent hangs at graphics apps such as 3DMark2001SE, various demos (NVSDK) and games. Could this be the reason ?

sounds like your psu is faulty
assuming hats a gf4 i suggest branded,over 200 watts combined and about 30 amps 3.3 v

Pcie sata III card

I have replaced the airport card of my mid 2010 iMac with a pcie sata III card which works fine (I can even boot from it) but it takes 3 minutes now for the screen to come up and start the OS.
I believe it is some sort of hardware initialization/negotiation that takes that time. Or maybe the system keeps ckeing for the airport card.
Anyone got anmy idea how to solve this? Thank you in anticipation!

Thanks for your suggestion. Unfortunately that time (which seems to be almost 4 minutes) is simply missing form the system log (see below).

PCI SATA III card on 2006 MacPro

I'd like to instal a SATA III SSD on my macpro to use it as scratch disk for photoshop and other software.
To be able to use all the speed of the ssd I wont to instal a pci sata III card... but I don't know if there are cards compatible with my 2006 macpro

Yes, if your SSD is new SATA3 6G, and also, to not have to share, to off load, the scratch to PCIe
Mac Pro is very limited in just how much I/O bandwidth there is even with 4 internal SATA ports it is less than 1Gb, less than even 250MB/sec per port in real world.
Ideal is to max out RAM to 24GB first or instead, then dedicated scratch disk or array.

Turbo2/PC Alert III/ Adjustable Low Fan Speeds?

Anybody getting low RPM adjustable fans to register in PC Alert III?
I have adjusted the fan speed alerts on CPU and chassis to min, and still can't get proper fan RPM reading. Am guessing fans are about 1/2 speed (given the amount of adjustment I made), or about 1500 RPM. Now getting red 5 digit fan speeds and case temp jumping around.
Am not asking so I can stare at fan speeds, just to see changes in any adjustments I might choose.
Still loving the low dba of my 2 Enermax fans!

Just got a new case and some gadgets...My Thunderbird 1400 now idles at 42 degrees celsius. Overclocked to 1600 it idles at 42-43, under full load @1600 it doesnt go over 43.
In my old case i had 8 case fans, which made a whole lotta noise, so with this one i wanted it quiet. I put four 80mm case fans in (two front, two rear) and a 5 1/4 drive bay temp monitor/fan controller to run them. When its idling, the fans dont run, just the 5000rpm cpu fan, video card fan and thermostatically controlled psu fans. So its almost silent. When its under load, and the temp hits 43 degrees c. the fans kick in until the temp drops back and they switch off.
Gives the best of both worlds really, when im browsing or downloading or doing basically anything that wouldnt put enough load on the cpu that it needs extra cooling its quiet enough to be unnoticable, but when im gaming the fans kick in to keep the system cool. Since i usually either play games with the speakers cranked up (during the day) or use headphones (at night) i rarely even hear the exta fans spinning...
I picked up a motor speed controller kit yesterday, which i havent built yet, but will use that to control a 120mm blowhole and two 80mm side fans, so i can have them running all the time at around 1000rpm (quieter than the psu) to just give a slight breeze through the case, meaning the front and rear fans should only kick in after a lengthy period of gaming or benchmarking.

Proper voltage readouts with MBM5

well it seems like my psu is bad or i have something else wrong with another piece of hardware or the mobo itself.
the system randomly shuts off or reboots whenever it wants, but mostly its when im gaming.
so in the interest of science, i installed motherboard monitor 5.
now, my weakest point out of all that i have ever learned is math and the electrical aspects of hardware. meaning votlages and such.
so... with your help i might be able to figure out if the psu is bad.
its an Achieve Gold 550W - yes first thing your gunna say is that its a cheap psu,, and it is,, but its never given me any trouble other than the occasional rebooting,. and i dont know if its the psu or not.
so...
what is the recommended or proper voltage readouts i should be seeing in MBM for this mobo.
i am not overclocking other than the RAM and i have that set to 2.7v per the recommendation of this forum since its DDR400.
can one of you fine gents help me out here.
also what would be the proper alarm settings in MBM so that i can see if the voltages are droping or peaking.
on a side note since installing MBM roughly ever 30 seconds the core 0 voltage alarm comes on.
the log shows the low point of the voltage as 1.49v and the average 1.52v
i find this od since the voltage in the mobo is set to default at 1.55 volts.
is this something i need to be worrying about ? or is 1.49 volts ok for the cpu voltage to drop that far.

well i got the Antec TruePower 550w and man let me tell you the voltages have hardly moved at all .01 on some rails and .10.20 on other but NOTHING like the other PSU
its 10x's quieter and it does not bog down when im running certain apps ro booting the system like my old PSU, if you understand what im saying,, running a cpu intensive program like right when it first starts, a cheap power supply will bog down, you will hear things like case fans and CPU fans slow down.
well the Antec hasnt done that.
man i cant aford the 115$ for this power supply but i am 110% glad i did , with a 3 yrs warrent independant curciutry for each rail oodles of voltage monitoring and dedicated Fan plugs it is an investment WEL WELL worth every penny.
i guess i just wont be buying much food for a few weeks.
back to eating Ramen noodles. :(

Does this 3rd party drive work with PCI 7356?

I bought PCI 7356 and AKD servo drive. However, it seems AKD can only achieve 15k rpm, which is lower than my target speed. I wonder if this drive, Analog Servo Drive S16A8 by Advanced Motion Control, will work with PCI 7356 controller. My motor is a brushless DC motor with 4-pole. I would like to run the motor at 30k rpm. The rated voltage for this motor is 24V and the rated current is 1.4A. The part number is BN12HS-13AA-02CH. I attach the spec sheet for the motor and the drive. Will this drive fit in my application? Thanks!

Is the AT-MIO-16E-2 ISA card compatible with a Pentium III 1GHz with a 133MHz bus? The system has an ISA slot available but I'm afraid the bus speed is too fast for this old card. Do I need to buy a new PCI card to work in this system?

As long as your machine has a ISA slot and that the NI-DAQ driver is properly installed on it, you shouldn't have any problems with it.

Why would I get an important message that says, "I can see you" It was a loud alarm with a message box.

My Iphone 4s had a loud alarm with a text box that said I can see you! I was trying to copy and paste in my contacts at the time it occured. It kinda freaked me out.

This was an iCloud message. I received an email that was from find myiphone. It stated your message was sent to the phone. The funny thing is that I don't remember messing around with the find my iPhone feature. I may try to explore the find my iPhone feature some more. Thanks for the responses everyone. The message had a loud continuous alarm even though my phone was set to vibrate.

How to stop printing the crystal report with an alert message

I am having a field called "APPROVAL" in my stored procedure with which I prepared the CR. I want that if the value in the filed is 'A' then only the crystal report should print else it should prompt with an alert message.

Check this helps you:
Create an alert from "Report -> Alerts -> Create or Modify Alerts" with below steps:
1. Provide name of the alert (say Alert1)
2. Click on X+2 in front of "Message" field and write the Alert message you want to display.
3. Click on Condition button and write the condition If not({APPROVAL}='A') then true;
The above Alert will prompt with configured alert message when {APPROVAL} field is not having value of 'A'
Now, in a formula, write below content and display it where you want to display the APPROVAL field value:
If {APPROVAL} = 'A' then
{APPROVAL}
This formula content will be blank if the value of {APPROVAL} is not 'A'

I am automating the process of sending appointment reminders to my clients. I started with an alert with an email in calendar using the clients email address as a custom entry in my me card in my contacts. this was resulting in three emails being sent with slightly different versions of the same address (see my previous post). Heating someone else's suggestion I created a workflow file to send an email and calling that file from an alert on my calendar. This is working and sends only one email to the client.
My calendar is on I cloud and I access it from three different computers so I can keep my appointment calendar current. The files that send the email only exist on one computer. My other computers show error messages when those emails get sent. It seems that each computer wants to send the email. It's a small problem but is there a way that I could not get those alerts.
But appreciate any thoughts about this. It seems like both problems might be related to the iCloud system.

Good work, catch so far Michael, does seem to be a "feature" of iCloud syncing, not sure what you could do to disable it.

Data acquisition and frequency generation togather with PCI-6251 and LV8.2

Hi friends,
I am a new user of Labview. I am using LB8.2 with PCI-6251 .
I have to generate frequency and then measure the data and then for next frequency and so on.
i know that for this i have to use looping and that is not a problem. The real problem for measurement is to identify whether the frequency is been generated. if yes then measurements starts otherwise it should wait until it started. then after finishing the measurements send a signal to generator for changing the frequency and amplitude.
Now these two things {generation and measurement} togather are not working correctly for me. so i make 2 diff file, one for generation and other for measurements <by modifying the examples>. I can run both file togather and it works. But it need lots off effort and time. I have to measure from 10Hz to 1000Hz in 2Hz frequency step and i cannt leave in between .
can anyone help me how to syncronize these two togather .

How to use external timebase for Two Edge Separation measurement with PCIe 6351

I am working with PCIe 6351 x series DAQ card.
counter measurements.
Here i need to measure the time/no edges between two edges. Falling to Raising of two signals.
I got the measurement with internal time base.
here i need to synchronize the measurements with external clock from the external setup.
so i need to use that external clock,timebase for the counters.
Any solution please..

First, the VI you mention is NOT for STC timer/counters. Therefore, it won't work.
If you want to get the time interval between two edges, you want to use the Functions -> Data Acquisition -> Counter -> Count Events or Time VI. This will do the function you are looking for.
