Voltage converter for Pavilion dm1-3020us Entertainment Laptop in the UK?

Will I need a step-down voltage converter to recharge my Pavilion dm1-3020us Entertainment Laptop while in the UK?
Thanks

Hi,
If you check the Adapter block, you should find it will accept a voltage input range of 100v - 240v.  If this is the case, then all you will need is a Two pin to Three pin converter for the plug to be able to use UK sockets.

Do I need an external voltage converter for my trip to Spain, or is the white box on the end of my MacBook Air power cord enough of a converter?

Thank you very much!  Apple telephone support couldn't come up with the answer.  I won't haul that heavy external voltage converter to Spain.  It weighs a lot!

  • HP Pavilion dm1-4000au Entertainment Notebook PC_Keyboard and Touchpad Suddenly Stops Working

    Hi there,
I have an HP Pavilion dm1-4000au Entertainment Notebook PC (QG411PA) running Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit for more than a couple of years already. During those times up until now, whenever my laptop is on standby for an hour or so, its keyboard and touchpad suddenly stops working, regardless if its running on battery or on AC power.
I always ensure that I have an external mouse in order for me to navigate properly and pull up the on-screen keyboard in order to type once that issue arises.
All appears to be updated in terms of Windows Updates and I even reformatted it, but issue still persists.
Is this particular issue that I am experiencing a harware issue? Perhaps a software issue? Or maybe a defective model itself?
Your prompt response is highly appreciated.
    Sincerely,
    Led

    Hi
You need to remove the CMOS/RTC battery from the unit and keep it out for or Wait approximately 15 minutes. This should fix your issue. Check page 52 Chapter 4 Removal and replacement procedures

No. All Apple power supplies are "universal". They will work anywhere in the world. You just need a plug adapter.

  • Pavilion dv6-3243 Entertainment laptop....sound all broken up, stutters

went to the CBS site to watch a program..I've done it very rarely in past without problem......sound all broken up, and the picture seems to be in slow motion also.  Any suggestions, anyone running into this problem? Thanks in advance for any help!

    Hi,
    Try the following.
First, download the Flash uninstall utility on the link below and save it to your Desktop.
    http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/uninstall_flash_player.exe
When the download has completed, close all browser windows and run the uninstaller.  After this has completed, restart the notebook.
Next, download and install Firefox and then using Firefox, download and install the latest version of Adobe Flash.
Close all browser windows before running the Flash installer.
Launch Firefox and see if you can now watch your CBS program Ok - if you can, close Firefox, open IE and click on the same Adobe Flash link above to get a prompt to install the ActiveX component.  When done, restart IE.

  • I have a HP Pavilion dv6-6153ca Entertainment Notebook PC the youcam stop working all of the suddem.

Hello I currently have brand new HP Pavilion dv6-6153ca only 3 month old and the built in web cam stop working just like that.
I running window 7 after installing the HP assistant the webcam reference desapear from my device manager.
Can somebody please tell me how to get my camera back? how do i know if the physical part is broken?
    somebody help me please.

id recommend backing up all of your data initally and doing a system restore an HP tech walked me through their
factory system restore option process from boot up, HP has a boot key function installed on the hp pavillion dv6
6153ca model(s) (all of their systems probably) calling the 1-800 support number is under warranty and free for
a system restore or at least it still could be, for me, it still was, the tech helped me out with initiallizing that process
which took approximately 15-20 min of his time to direct me on a factory restored install on my system on an unrelated
incident i had with windows 7 user locks and permissions i  rendered inalterable  or seemingly to me ,he helped me through
an HP factory restore  and i was completed a few hours later with everything configured/installed/transfered if the
restore fails to reactivate the camera/or eliminate the conflict, you can remove the black  plastic LCD screen cover
by unsnapping the plastic clip-based cover off around the perimeter of the screen and checking the white lead to the
top left of the camera or the power pin connection on the top right if theres a physical problem write down the camera
part # and you can order a replacement cam from HP or use the  part number online at a search engine and procure/get the
part there either a tech or yourself could do the replacement from there

  • I have a Macbook Air purchased in 2011 in the US.  I am traveling in South Africa and am unsure if I need a step down voltage converter before I plug my laptop into the wall to charge it (using an outlet adapter).  Am I ok to just plug in?

So standard electrical output from wall outlets in the US is 110V - 120V, and standard output from wall outlets in South Africa is 220V - 240V.  In SA I know I can plug in an iPhone using the iPhone charging cable and it will automatically step down the voltage, thus preventing my phone from overheating.  I cannot plug in a hairdryer or flat iron without step down voltage converter in SA.  Can I use the charger that came with my US 2011 Macbook Air and plug into a wall outlet in South Africa or do I need to purchase a step down voltage converter in order to charge my laptop while in SA?

You only need a plug adaptor as long as the voltage is between 100 and 240 volts.

  • Is a voltage converter necessary for charging an iPod in 220v countries?

I'm heading for New Zealand and Australia.  Do I need a voltage converter for my iPod and iPad or just adapters?

The wall charger is dual voltage. You only need a plug converter for the iPad wall charger. The iPod does not come with a wall charger.

  • Heading to Sri Lanka - do I need a voltage converter or just the plug adapter for my Ipad?

To recharge my IPAD do I need a voltage converter or just an outlet plug adapter?  The print on the plug that came with the IPAD is so small I can't read it!

Just the plug adapter, as the power brick itself can go from 100-240 VAC, 50-60Hz. I'd take a spare charger and cable, just in case.

  • Step-down voltage converter or traval adapters?

    Hi,
I am studying in Ireland with my iBook that I bought in the US - as well as a few other US electrical appliances. I have been using step-down voltage converters, but having problems. I just discovered today that I was using too many watts for the converter (the power adapter for the iBook uses 45 watts, and the converter suggests a max of 30 watts) but I am still not sure if that is why the converters keep breaking. The fuse seems to be fine (why I don't think the watts are the problem) and the first two converters broke after being used for a few months (but within a few days or hours of being used with a computer for the first time). So I was still of the conclusion that the converters were just going bad on their own - not built to last so long.
Tonight I plugged my iBook in with a third, brand new converter and was part way through charging it up when the light on the charger went from amber to green and then off. Now this third converter does not seem to work anymore - and the fuse seems fine.
So at this point I'm pretty sure it does have something to do with the computer - but am not really sure how to proceed. Has anyone else experienced similar difficulties? I see that Apple offers a set of Travel Adapters. Do you recommend them? Might this be the simples solution to these problems with the converters?

    Hi Oona,
All Macs (except rev.A G5 iMacs and eMacs) have dual voltage/frequency PSU, and can be plugged anywhere in the world with no problem.
—> You don't need any step-down voltage converter for your iBook.
You just have to find a plug adapter or an Irish cord or power adapter (btw you can use the 65W too). Apple's Travel Adapter is fine, but you can find cheaper in Ireland, unless you need a model that you can use everywhere in the world?
    See this document
    - World Power Differences Can Limit International Product Use (KB #129)
and check your other electrical appliances.
The electrical info is printed somewhere: do not use the converter with the dual-voltage/frequency ones.
    About Apple Macs' electrical specs:
    - Apple Power Supplies: Changing voltage settings (KB #75099)
Electrical info is always visible somewhere on all electrical appliances.

No, you will simply need a plug adapter for the local power system.

  • I am travelling from the US to France and England - do I need a voltage converter or can I just plug my iphone 4 and ipad into a plug converter?

Both France and UK use 240 v and I have a US iPad and iPhone4.  Can I just just the plug converter or do I need to use a voltage converter for both?
    Thanks!

No voltage conversion needed, just an adaptor for the plug, anywhere you go.
