Volume and power off not working

My volume switch is apparently not working. And I can't power down or off . Seems like both switches are broken. It's possible that is due to small liquid spill. Can that be fixed or is it beyond repair?

Certainly it is possible because of a liquid spill. If you get liquid into the opening of any electronic device, you could have problems. Apple will not repair the device. They would perhaps offer an out of warranty replacement, if you do not have Apple Care + Which will cover 2 incidents of accidental damage for a $49 copay.
Let the device completely dry before you try anything else and perhaps you should take it to an Apple store for evaluation.

Betreff: Helix, windows 8.1. Sleep and power off not working correctly.

I'm still havin issues booting my computer when docked or using standby when docked. I've set my computer to allways hibernate to disk as this lessens the problems for me when the computer hangs during bootup. The information is still there on the disk when you try to bootup several times.
The backdraw is that boot is really slow and it I can tell you that it's really not making a good impression when you bring the computer to a presentation and people ask about it.

i tried fixing it but had no luck, although it was fixed for a brief time. I think the problem is with the wireless driver. I think if you uninstall the intel pro set wireless software and then disable the network adapter(from device manager) reboot and re-enable the issue should be fixed. My problem was that afterwards i tried sharing media from my desktop and the problem resurfaced.. So it was a short win.
other things i tried is disabling the homegroup services(from control panel-->administrative tools-->services), opening cmd with administrator rights and typing "powercfg -requests" to see if there was anything blocking sleeping.
Anyway if you want to fix the shutdown issue, just disable fast startup from power options! It will shut down correctly but sleep will still have a problem.
The other problem i have is i can't refresh windows. My usb recovery drive won't be recognised, and a win8 cd i had wouldn't help also(something about the windows drive being locked).

Connect the computer to the power.
Hold the power button down for 10 seconds or more.

IPod touch 5th gen. Home button stuck and power button not working! Please help!

I have an iPod 5th Generation and the home button is jammed down! It felt sticky earlier but now it's stuck down. I used it when the home button wasn't working and had to use my notifications to change from app to app (as I didn't know about assistive touch). I turned it off, but now the power button is no longer responsive! The button isn't stuck, but it doesn't work anymore. It was working fine before, but now it won't respond. Please help!

Volume and brightness keys not working with new keyboard on imac

I just purchased a new wired keyboard for imac and brightness and volume control keys not working . i have tried adjusting keyboard settings. I have software version 10.5.8. Do I need to upgrade software. Thank you for any help.

Do you have "Automatically Adjust Brightness" check box ticked in System Preferences > Displays > Display ? If so, you can't manually adjust brightness.

7D auto power off not working

My Canon EOS 7D is not turning itself off even though I have auto power off set for one minute. I think this problem began after I added a battery grip to the camera. Has anyone else had this problem?

Is it a Canon battery grip, or a third party? I ask because I've heard of some strange things occuring when using non-OEM battery grips.
If it's a Canon battery grip, I'd try "rebooting" the camera to see if that clears the problem. Do you know how to do that? If not, it's pretty easy. Just remove all the batteries (including the date/time battery), turn the camera on and press the shutter release button once. It won't fire, but this will drain all remaining power from the system and force the camera to reboot. Put the batteries back in and check to see if the date/time needs to be reset... if so, you got a good reboot. (You might have to reset some of your other settings, too.)
Hopefully that helps. Otherwise, I'm at a loss.

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.
If this does not resolve the issues, take the device to Apple for evaluation and possible replacement.

Why isn't my bluetooth keyboard volume and play controls not working osx x

For some reason my top row keys are not working on my bluetooth wireless keyboard well the work but the volume up key switches to the dashboard, the volume down triggers the expose' ... it just all out of wack. Please help!!

Sound Volume and Eject Keys Not Working

I installed 10.4.3 from the DVD on a G4. After the installation the sound keys (volume up, down and mute) and the eject key on the Apple Pro keyboard no longer work. They also don't show up on the Keyboard Viewer.
Anyone have a fix for this?

I found some info on another website that indicated that having an outdated version of USBOverdrive can cause problems like this. I checked and sure enough I had that installed (I think my son did it and didn't tell anybody - not unusual...). I downloaded the newest version of USBOverdrive and the keyboard problem went away.

First you must send a follow request to the Verizon rep. They must approve it. They must also send you a follow request which you must approve. At that time, you can send a DM to the rep.
With that said, I am not sure who you should send the follow request to. The signature at the bottom of the rep's message says michelleh_vzw yet the userid of the post says yoseft_vzw.
I suppose I would try sending one to michelleh_vzw first since they signed the post. You can do that by hovering your cursor over their userid which I have included in this post and clicking on the "Follow" button in the dialogue box which opens up while you are hovering the cursor over the userid. Then you can only wait for them to respond before you can do anything else.

Try the standard fixes in squence:
- Reset the iPod (may not work because of power button problem).
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore the iPod from backup
- Restore the iPod to factoery defaults/new iPod
If you still have a problem, it is likely due to a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
