Volume bar comes up after discconnecting any calls

Hi,
Everytime when I disconnect a call (outgoing/incoming), the volume bar comes up even though i have not pressed any volume key. It even happens when I make a call and disconnect it if there is no answer. It wouldn't do the same earlier. It occurred some time back and then disappeared without any reason. Now, it started showing up again.
I have not made any changes apart from updating to the latest android software. The issue did not appear when it was updated but after few days it started. No third party apps were installed.
Thanks,
Rohit

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.
That sounds wierd. I suggest that you boot your phone into safe mode for a while to see if you experience the same behaviour:

Otherwise, have you tried with another SIM-card in your phone to see if same thing happens?

    Re: iPhone 4S sound problems
    Dec 29, 2011 2:05 PM (in response to unowen57)
    Hi Guys,
I have post eariler on another forum and I have the same problem, I have tried all the things listed here and nothing was perminant in fixing this painful iphone hating problem.... and failed.  You probably have the problem when you use youtube or your music external speaker that there is no volume bar and no sound.   I have had the same problem But I need to happily say that I now have the fix!!!!  This worked for me and I fixed it by myself so you don't need to go to apple or service centre or anything.
Ok I like so many of you here truly believed this was as IO5 issue as it only dropped the sound on the speakers once that IO5 update came along.  I tried a bunch of reset, reboots, home clicks, lock and unlocks, to fix this and all failed.  some worked for an hour but then failed.  hours of my life that I will never get back.   but since I have learnt this is not a IO5 problem but a hardware issue! ...  and in paticualar is has to do with your bottom connection.  Your phone is thinking it is docked all the time.
To fix the no sound problem what you need is...
    1.  a torch
    2.  a tooth brush
    3.  methalated spirits
    4. a butter knife
    Step 1.
get your torch and shine it down the bottom connection plate to see what kind of dust, sand, hair or anything you have stuck in there.   all that need to be removed!  everything!  it might look clean but still thats ok go to step 2.
    step 2.
Turn on your music app and put the speakers on!  If your phone is like mine it should not work.  you most probably don't even have the volume display to turn it on but its ok, just do it! and it should still play with no sound.   its important you try and run the speakers as this will show you that it is a hardware problem.
    step 3.
Dip your tooth brush into some methated sprits.   then at your sink tap the exess metho out of your brush as you just want the brushes to be slightly damp, not soaking wet and then scrub the bottom connetiors on your iphone.  work the brush back and forward in a way that scoops the dirt out of the phone, not just pushing it side to side.
(As you bushing you should notice the volume bar come back on or off as you scub.   This happened to me and that is how I realised I was on the right track to fixing this problem as I was doing something external that was actually controling when the volume display came on or off.   but once I cleaned it this still didn't fix the problem...)
    Step 4.
Use the back side of a butter knife (not the sharp side) to gently slide over the connectors on the iphone.  Do this gently as you are only pushing down on the tiny metal contect bars and you should notice the volume display come on again.  slide it back and forward.  Now the area of interest is about 2/3 along the connection plate to the right.   This is the area that has the infomation sent when your iphone thinks its docked.
This has worked for me and I have not had a problem since I did this 2 weeks ago.   I have since learnt that the new IOS 5 has activated a different part of the bottom conectors.  if you have been using dodgy connectors or unapproved apple cables (as I was)  any damage or hair and dirt on the terminal this is effecting it.  Try it.   just remember if you can do something external to your phone then there lies the problem.
Hope this works for your phone as it did for mine.
    Cheers

  • Dots instead of time/volume bar

Every so often, my ipod nano will show a row of blue dots instead of the bar that shows the time that a track has been playing or the volume. It eventually goes away, but I'm not sure what I did to make it go away. Any suggestions as to what to do to get rid of the dots and make the time/volume bar come back?

That is the rating screen - where you can rate from 0-5 stars for the song that is currently playing. Use the wheel to select the rating, the press the center button to return to the progress bar.

  • RE FMLE 3.1 Stuck Volume Bar/Button

The Volume bar is stuck on my FMLE 3.1 and not been able to increase or decrease the volume.I tried to un-install the FMLE and re-install a new FMLE 3.1 ( downloading from the website ) but the volume bar is still in the 60% position.I tried to use CC Cleaner to delete the registry and tried to install the FMLE but still no luck. Can anyone advise me how to go about this issue?
    cheers

Strange that I am not able to reply this thread via Adobe forums page. I am sending this via Email Reply.
The Screen Shot which I uploaded is from my personal laptop and the problem is with my work laptops which are quite new Dell Studio Laptops and when we installed FMLE on them we never had any issues with the volume Bar, but in the last 2 weeks we have this frozen Volume bar which is creating some problem. Will def send you the screen shot for the same tmro.what I fail to understand is, why is that volume bar frozen even after un-installing the FMLE and when installing a new FMLE.

  • How do I get my volume bar back on iPhone 4?

My volume bar is missing from my iPhone 4 and this seems to be the reason the audio won't work when I try to play music. However, when I play a ringtone the audio is fine. I put my iPhone in the Bose speaker dock and the volume bar comes back, but only temporarily. I've already tried restoring it and it didn't fix the problem. Help?

Just came home to find I have the same problem!! iPhone 4S, never jail broken, dropped or spilled anything on it! I have been using my original iPhone charger (when they came out with the new iPhone I just shaved my charging/docking station to fit) so it is a little on the dirty side!
This is the first post I read so I did the headphone thing, the docking undocking thing, restarted it and messed with all the volume setting and neither of them worked.
So finally taking "mike iPhone guys" post, I looked @ the 32 pin port at the bottem of the iPhone and I reminded me of a old Nintendo cartridge do untreated it as so.
*** THIS IS HOW I FIXED THIS ISSUE, I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT BEFORE CONSULTING APPLE, YOU MIGHT DAMAGE YOUR DEVICE*********
These are the exact steps I took ....
    1. I blew into the port and it did absolutely nothing!
    2. I took a vacuum ($200 Hoover windtunnel t series P.A.W.S pet approved vacuum, so it has some power behind it, not the most expensive but not the cheapest either) and used the smallest accessory, the long connection hose/tube with the smaller rectangle attachment and sucked the air out of the port.
This worked for 5 secs my volume bar appeard and then disappeared again.
    3. I took a very thin butter knife, wrapped it with a paper towel that I sprayed windex with and stuck it in gently one both sides, tested and still didn't work.
    4. Repeated the previous step but added a little pressure and shoved the blade in the upper part only closest to the screen, not the bottem side the knife didn't want to go in as easy so I didn't try, alot of dirt was on the rag, then I used a dry part of the towel and did the same again until there was no dirt on it!
    Tested and still didn't work!
    5. Blow in it once more, and vacuumed it once more but this time putting my finger in the area that the vacuum didn't reach on both ends an lightly tapping it, WORKS FINE NOW! Just needed some
Cleaning. I can only assume the dirt does make it
    Think that it's still docked.

  • HT1688 Hello, my iphone 4s has  aproblem with the sound. The speaker rings for incoming calls/messages etc. However for non of the apps the speaker sound works anymore. volumebuttons also dont show the volume bar. Anyone has any ideas

Hello, can anyone help Me? I have a problem with the external speaker of my iphone 4s. It works when i get calls, messages etc but nit for any app. The headphone does still work. The volumebuttons also do not show the regular volume bar. Any ideas please?

Clean the iPhone charging port with a clean dry toothbrush. Dust or debris is causing iPhone to believe it is in Dock station.

  • My iPhone 4s no longer has sound for any of the applications but it does have sound for phone functions.  Where is the setting for app sound?  I have gone to the multitask screen and the volume bar is empty.

I recently found my phone outside in light rain (it had been there about 20 minutes).  It had some glitches at first, however after letting it rest overnight it seemed to mostly recover.  The one problem I am having is that I no longer have sound for any of my applications.  I do have sound for phone fuctions, and I am able to use the speaker for phone functions.
When I am in my applications, including music/videos, the only way I can hear is if I use my earbuds.  I am able to make a video and it will record sound just fine.
When I go to the multitask screen, the volume bar is empty and I cannot adjust it using the side buttons (even though in settings I have that feature activated). I completely reset all of my settings tonight and that did not make a difference.
Is there a setting I am missing, or am I just SOL?  I am trying to avoid having to get a whole new phone but it is very frustrating to not have sound with my applications.

I have been having problems with my speaker. After the recent update I am unable to listen to movies, music or apps using my speaker. The volume bar is completely missing. If I plug a headset into the port, the volume bar reappears and then disappears after the headset is removed. This is quite annoying. My child's Apps that he likes to play will not even make a sound. HELP!!!

Do a reset (Hold Sleep/Wake and Home buttons about 10 secs or more till Apple logo appears, ignore the Slide to Power Off that appears)
Note: You will not lose any data.

Have you taken the steps recommended in the User Guide--restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new?
What happened after taking each of those steps?

3gs reboots after 4mins on calls and shows battery dead then shows battery charged on restart any 1 have a fix please

Thought it had worked but soon found out it had not.
after further days of trying finally, solved it for me Yesterday.
turned off notifications when locked, and bingo, wow.
i have not turned off iCloud but location services are also off.
best thing to do I found was keep checking your usage, settings, general, usage, and flip down to bottom, if the standby and usage are similar there is a problem, if there is a big difference then all is ok. Just keep turning things off and on until the difference is very apparent.
something on my phone was keeping the phone alive even when turned off, and I think this was the phone repeatedly trying to update continually.
to me this is definitely down to the iOS, my wife has exactly same phone and iOS but hers doesn't have any problem and the battery lasts for days.
the guy at the Genius Bar told me to restore the phone via iTunes, not iCloud. This is because iCloud remembers the exact info from your phone and simply reinstates it when you restore, and this includes the iOS too.
when I get home from holidays that's what I'll do, or wait for iOS 8 in few weeks. But I'm so pleased I finally made it work, I was beginning to think ditch the phone and buy Samsung.
anyway anyone out there please try my final solution and let me know if it works for you?

Ipod video classic 5th gen won't play video/podcasts or audio only a black screen with the play symbol and volume/progress bar. games work fine! any ideas?

    Here's some more info.
I tried installing the latest iTunes to my housemate's PC, logging into iTMS with my account, authorizing his machine to play my content, restoring my iPod to the factory settings, downloading the videos and copying them to my iPod.
It worked fine, and I can play my videos.
I have done the exact SAME thing on my own home PC twice, after completely uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and the Apple Software Updater. But I still can't get any videos downloaded on my home PC to play on my iPods.
    Any thoughts?

Although you say you have let the battery drain, was it for long enough? Since nothing else that you've tried so far has worked, I suggest that you leave the iPod unplugged for at least four days, preferably a week. That way, if something is stopping the iPod from turning the screen on, then whatever it is will drain the battrey. However, since the screen isn't on, that may take longer than if the screen was on.
Then, after that time, plug the iPod into a power source and leave it alone for at least thirty minutes. Only after thirty minutes will it show any signs of life, but you should leave it until it is fully charged before trying to use it.
If you get to this stage, the fact that the battery has drained will cause the iPod to reset when it springs back to life.
Let us know how you get on.
