I had noticed many times that my lumia's volume was not working even though I minimized volume.

have you checked that your back cover is sealed on the phone correctly, and also tried performing a soft reset? also check that you are up to date with the latest firmware for your device and that you are up to date with the latest Nokia system app updates from the Store.

3G Network Connectivity problem on lumia 520

I have been using lumia 520 since the last 10 days but since the last few days once I switch the data connection to off,then switch it back again later I am only able to recieve 2G connectivity eventhough I switched the high connection speed to 3G.After 5-6 attempts by turning high connection speed from 2g to 3g I am able to recieve 3G but it again changes to 2G with the E symbol after sometime.Also my network is always on the lower side once I switch on 3G data connection.I have cut my SIM to MICRO SIM.Please help me with this issue.

You have to contact your operator for you to get a microSIM card. The possible cause of the issue is that you're not using an original microSIM card. Also, cutting your standard SIM to microSIM is not advisable as using it to your phone may damage the internal parts of the phone.

Storage problems on Lumia 520

The phone memory of my mobile gets filled by other files which i can check in my storage app . It doesn't show what it contains actually but it shows that 4gb of your memory is full and i don't know why . It has created a lot of problems for me as my phone becomes slow and stops functioning. My phone in empty 300 mb is occupied my apps and maps rest of memory should be free but only 2 mb of my memory is free

The Other category consists mostly of various operating system caches (temporary files), Maps and 3rd party application data. Also email, calendar, contacts and Office application data counts towards this figure, but are typically smaller contributors.
The figure shows how much content, downloaded through normal use of the phone, remains available for re-use. For example, when the phone is used to browse the Internet, or install applications and application updates, the caches related to these functions grow in size correspondingly. Another contributor to growth of this category is Maps data, whether it is downloaded on-demand when browsing around in Nokia Maps or when you download the maps of entire countries or other regions for off-line use. Furthermore, Photos, Music and Video create an index that grows with number the files located in Phone memory and in any inserted micro-SD card.
To manage the phone's memory, try these:
1. Remove unwanted stuff from your Lumia Windows 8 Phone by using the Storage Check application. Go to Settings > Storage check, swipe left, the screen will show you the amount of storage used by Apps, Downloaded Maps and Temporary files:
Select details under Apps to find out what apps you have on your phone, consider un-installing some of them to increase the space in your phone memory.
Select maps under Maps, the screen will show you the maps you have downloaded to your phone. Long press an individual map to get an option to remove it, or delete all maps.
Select clear under Temporary files to clear the files that are safe to remove.
2. Delete browsing history, temporary files, cookies and saved passwords in Internet Explorer (Settings > applications > Internet Explorer > delete history).
3. Delete previous map searches and temporary files from your phone (Settings > applications > maps > delete history).
4. Delete Bing search history, including Bing Vision and Bing Music searches (Settings > applications > search > delete history).
5. Remove old Office documents from your phone: Press Start, swipe left, and select Office > places (locations) > phone. Long press any document and then select Delete.
6. Remove offline mixes from MixRadio: Press Start, swipe left, and select Nokia MixRadio > offline mixes. Long press any mix and then select Delete.
7. If you have a PC, connect your phone to a computer with a compatible USB cable. On your computer, use Windows Explorer and browse to your phone to see a list of the folders: Documents, Music, Pictures, Ringtones, and Videos. Right-click the file you want to move, select Cut, right-click a location on your PC, and then select Paste.

Problem updating lumia 520

I cannot update my 520 with mobile data(3G). The phone update prompts repeatedly to connect with wifi. Why should it be like this? Is there any option to stop such a monotonous prompt and get the mobile data working for downloading the update? Hope to see a way out...

Though the official Nokia site mentions it as recommended way to update the phone, it seems WiFi is the only way you can do that ..

i am using Lumia 520 with Windows 8.1 software, currently i am facing problem in volume if i play music i cant able to listen but music can listen in headphone, surprise is in FM i can play the music in Loudspeaker even i am getting calls, allerts i can able to get the sound if i press volume key its showing only Head phone with image not even heare in the call need to depend hearphone kindly suggest what needs to be done.

Make sure that the back cover is seated correctly before taking the phone back. There have been a number of people complaining of a similar problem and refitting the rear cover seems to have solved the issue for them.

Lumia 520 stuck on headphones volume control

I was using my nokia lumia 520 to listen to radio with headphones.When unplugged headphones the volume control stayed on headphones so cant change volume on phone for ringtones and music on games/facebook posts etc.Anyone else had thissame problem?

Hi, I have tried taking the headphone out of the socket, taken out battery a number of times, and even the sim card but still nothing. I'm wary of resetting the phone because last December I had a software update and lost all my contacts/games. Got contacts back a month later (just appeared). Is there anything else I can do? Spoke to person in EE shop and they just said 'could send it away'!!

Mobile network problem in my lumia 520

Once network gone, I have to Restart it then again mobile network come.calling proble occurs many times even network is dispayed. Network problem sshould be rectify.

Do you experience the network issue regardless of your area? Aside from calling, are the other network services working fine like SMS messaging and mobile data connection? Is this for a Lumia 520 as well? If so, I hope you're using a standard microSIM and not a cut one as this is what the phone is designed to use.
BTW, the reset that the Nokia Care Center recommended is the one under Settings > about, is that right? After the reset, have you checked if the system apps are updated? Go to Settings > swipe to applications > store > check for updates.
Let us know how it will go.

Problem with internet in Lumia 520

I bought my Lumia 520 few days back. I use wifi connection of BSNL BB. It was working fine these days. But now what ever the address i type in IE it opens the webpage "Georgia Pacific" and none other apps installed could use the internet. please help me to solve this issue. I have attached the screenshot.

Thank you for the information you have provided. You may also try checking if all the system apps are updated. Store>...>settings>check for updates. Try rebooting it by pressing and holding the power and the volume down keys simultaneously for 10-15 seconds.

I have a Lumia 520, and i find that i do not receive push notifications for my whatsapp messages. I have to open the application before the messages come through. I would like to know how to correct this. I have checked all my settings.

On a HTC-forum I saw the next solution, and it works also for Nokia Lumia! That means it is a Microsoft Issue!
1) Unpin Windows store from start
2) ERASE Internet Explorer History
3) ADD new language to the keyboard (Settings-->keyboard-->add keyboards
(CHOOSE A LANGUAGE THAT REQUIRE DOWNLOAD)
4) When downloading is finished, it will ask to restart and install
5) After installation and restart do the following;
A) UNINSTALL WHATSAPP
B) REINSTALL WHATSAPP (you can get conversation history back when asked, so no problem)
After this the push function works, but there is still a delay up to 10 minutes! So when you test, be patient.
NO BETTER PRESSURE MEDIUM THAN ANTI ADVERTISING SO AFTER THIS EXPEDITION PLEASE CHANGE YOUR STATUS TEXT TO:
USING WINDOWS; THAT MEANS DELAY UP TO 10 MINUTES
When all Window Phone users display that message, Microsoft has to come with a final solution!

i bought my 520 2 months ago, now it has auto touch...........
some times touch is working on its own, but some times it work smoothly......

Speaker problem after an update to windows 8.1 on Nokia lumia 520

After an update to 8.1 my windows phone nokia lumia 520 has encountered a problem with the speaker. I am uable to play any music neither am i able to hear any ringtone of any kind. The phone had no problem till an automatic update took place when i got connected
to an internet acces.
Can anyone let me know if this is an issue of an update or malfunctioning of the speaker without any reason.

As you tried already a reset, did you consider the Nokia Software Recovery Tool on a Windows computer as well?

Nokia Lumia 520 problem with internet

Hey
My girlfriend bought today a nokia lumia 520 from an internet shop.
Now she is installing it and it seems to have a problem.
So our netwerk is 'telenet' where we have an abo wich include 1gb internet.
She installed everything like it has to, APN and stuff all ok.
Now she cannot connect to the 3 or 2g netwerk on her phone, it keeps saying we have to put 'roaming' on.
If we do this, the internet goes, but i dont think that is how its supposed, maybe she will have to pay a lot if she does roaming. While we actually dont need it.
Can you help us with this problem?

Welcome to the Microsoft Mobile Community.
Does it happen regardless the connection you are using? Try checking the date and time of your phone if these are set correctly. Also, check your account details by going to account.live.com. After that, tap and hold your Microsoft Account, and select Sync. If it is still the same, try rebooting your phone by pressing and holding the volume down and the power keys for 10 to 15 seconds. Release and your phone will restart. After this operation, you may need to set the date and time again. Switch Set automatically to Off, and tap Time zone. Check if it is set correctly. Observe if the issue will still persists.
