Volume button on iphone doesn't turn down

my iphone volume button doesnt turn down, it just automatically raises the volume again ? help

This is hardware problem, but to just make certain it is not software related, Restore iPhone with iTunes 10.7 on computer. See if fixed. If still problem and if there is Warranty or AppleCare make Genius reservation and take to Apple for resolution.

Does anyone else have sticking volume buttons on iPhone 4S?

Ok, I've only had my 4S for 4 days after upgrading from the 3GS and now the up volume button is sticking. At first I thought it was the case I have it in, so I took it out. That didn't help. I can press the down volume button, but as soon as I let off, the volume will max out again. It happens for all the sounds and not just the ringer. Checking on the web, I saw the iPhone 4 has similar problems. You would have thought the newer models would have been corrected. Any ideas how to fix this on a new phone?

Same here. Ive had my 4s since the 5th of January and I'm experiencing the same defect. I dont know if its technically a defect or not, but with everyday use I have managed to cause this model of the 4s to have this sticking effect.
Called Verizon on this issue. Luckily I'm still under their newer warranty policy of 14 days! Verizon's tech support guided me through the same process that i previously followed. He eventually called Apple and they said there has been no issue regarding this type of complaint. Well i have a video of this happening multiple times at hand if need be.
Love Apple and have been treating this new iDevice like precious cargo. Its strange that normal tare and where would result in this way.
I dont know how to fix it permanently. Sorry. My only advice is to get the protection plan now, if all else fails.

My iphone doesn't turn on after installing ios 7.0

After installing the IOS update automatically this morning my iphone 4 32 g is hanging on the apple startup.. Here is my predicament. My laptop crashed last week and i had to reinstall it..no itunes yet! One other thing is that my standby button on top doesn't always work so shutting it off is a problem! HELP!!! What can I do??

try resetting the phone, hold down the powerbutton and the home button untill you see an apple logo, this will reset the phone (you will not loose any data by doing this).

HP Pavillion dv3: Volume Icon on keyboard doesn't turn on when touched

Hi guys!
I have an HP Pavillion dv3 notebook and it has touch sensitive volume and wifi controls at the top of the keyboard. when you touch it and it turns blue, then it's on, when you touch it and it turns red, then its off.
recently though, the volume control on my keyboard has been red, and even when I click it it's still red. it doesn't turn on. I checked the volumes on the screen and they're all alright, the sound card is fin, only problem is the volume button on the top of my keyboard doesn't turn on.
how do I fix this? I can't hear any sounds because of this.

Does turning down volume in app always have to turn down ringer?

I have missed several calls because I turn down apps and it make the ringer equally as quiet. I have the same problem on my iPad. Any fixes?

When installing Vista or Windows 7, I always advice people to remove their OS X drive so that Windows doesn't touch, tag, or know about OS X (also makes the install easier).
Not sure why, but have you booted from another hard drive and run Disk WARRIOR - or at least Apple DU and tried doing disk repair? not sure it would help. Then zap PRAM and see if that changes this at all.

Silver mark in between the volume buttons on iPhone 5.

I recently saw a silver colored mark in between the volume buttons which is not coming off. what might this be and how to remove it?

All of a sudden don't have sound on my phone, music, apps, games, notifications. Don't even have the volume bar on videos to turn it up or down, when I press the manual volume button on the side to turn it up nothing happens. Somebody help me fix this

Clean iPhone charging port with clean dry toothbrush. See if better. If still problem, and if there is Warranty or AppleCare coverage, make Genius reservation or set up service and take or send to Apple for resolution. If no coverage, clean charging port again with small amount of Isopropyl Alcohol.

Volume buttons on iPhone 5 loose and clicky

My iPhone 5 (black) has been having problems, the side buttons (volume) have been really loose. When I first got the phone (December) it didn't make that noise or feel like how it does now.

Itunes button on iPhone doesn't recognize wifi connection

I recently syncronized my iPhone to add the iTunes button. Button appeared - all seemed fine. Went to a hot spot and got a pop up message asking if I wanted to connect to that wifi. I answered yes (settings showed that I was connected). But when I hit the purple itunes button, it says "cannot connect to iTunes store, must connect to a wifi network".

I have found the same problem with connecting to the iTunes store with an ACTIVE Wi-Fi connection. Everyone keeps responding in the same way. "Make sure you have a Wi-fi connection ..etc etc..blah blah blah.
Does everybody on here think that everyone else is stupid?
While giving these very complex and technical solutions to so many different Wi-Fi problems no one..and I mean NO ONE seems to be able to figure out this seemingly simple issue. BTW..when connected to my Airport(which is Wi-Fi) the itunes store connects with no problems.

Also weak signal?...Nope. Tried inside close to the Wi-Fi router as well. And please. don't insult me with these dumb comments of.."what city are you in? Because the iTunes Starbucks connection is not everywhere yet" Sheesh!!!! Get a grip!!!!! IT'S WiFi PEOPLE!!!!!!!

No volume button on iPhone 3GS o sounds on iPhone

My iPhone 3GS has no volume for "clicks" and does not show volume unless the earphones are plugged in. I get the message that This accessory is not optimized for iPhone. Any fixes out there?

I thought my problem might be in the connecting area. The error message pops up when there is nothing connected to the phone. There is no way to adjust volume because the phone seems only to recognize the ringer and will not show volume bars at the base of the bell that appears when adjusting volume. When I have the earphones plugged in, there is a volume slider that appears, but disappears when I pull the earphones out. The clicks I have referred to are those that one hears when typing in a text message or entering a phone number to dial. I have no "sound effects" at all. The phone will ring with my ringtone and I can hear a caller. I can't hear music from the iPod unless the headphones are plugged in.
Is this dirty or damaged connector fixable or do I need a new phone?

Volume on my iPhone 5c keeps turning off, and now will not allow me to access WIFI

i went into apple bc the volume was not working at all, well now it will randomly just shut off and i will have to turn it back on, i have missed several phone calls due to this. on top of it all, it will not allow me to turn on the WIFI in either the settings or the pull up bar

If Apple serviced the phone, there is a 90 days warranty on the repair. Bring it back and let them check the phone.

My iPhone 5 automatically turn down brightness to the lowest several times started yesterday. I have checked that the auto brightness was set on after I had set it off!

Volume button for going down not workig?

Hi, ive tryed to restore and reset my ipod using backup, with itunes, then i tried icloud. The volume button works fine when i turn it up, but whrn i try to turn it down, it wont even appear. When i turn it off it will turn down when i turn my ipod back on, this started happening after i restored it. Before i even restored it, the voulume would go up and down by itself, so i only got some progress. on friday i dropped my ipod in the sink while the water was running, but only for a couple secs. thoug, and everything else works perfectly fine. so i put in rice overnight, but the volume was still a problem. But thr thing is, i see other people have this problem, but because of the update, so any ideas? is there anything else i could do to for the volume? please help!!!!!!!!!!
P.s. i checked inside the ipod jack thing, and its white, so i know theres no water damage. and the thing wont disappear, untill i turn up the volume, but it still stays sometimes, and disappears when i turn the volume up.

Volume button stuck

Hello,
I will try to make my self as understandable as i can, since english isnt my language.
There are 2 volume buttons on the iphone. One of them is an actual button, on the side, and the other one appears on the screen when youre listening to music. The problem is, if i use the volume ''button'' on the screen to turn the volume up, it automatically slides all the way to the left: minimal volume. I can than turn the volume up on the other button on the side. But still, this is really annoying.
Is there anyone who recognizes this problem? Ive tried to reset the iphone when i connect it to my computer, without any result.
I would appreciate some feedback on my problem!

I had a first gen iPhone that had the same problem accept it would go full blast . The volume button had gotten stuck . the switch under the button had collapsed and would not come back up . I would say that you are suffering from the same thing . If your iphone is still under warranty I would take it to an Apple store and have them check/replace the buttons . Hope this helps.

Satellite L655 doesn't turn on - Indicators only blink

Everything disconnected from the laptop. Drive of DVD, HDD, CardReader, battery, Wi-Fi. Only the processor and memory (it is tested on other laptop) are connected. I connect the power unit. The indicator of connection of the power unit (the first at the left, color white) turns on.
We press the inclusion button, the laptop doesn't turn on. Only the indicator of connection of the power unit (the first at the left) is switched on and two indicators - the second at the left and the second on the right blink 1 time white color.
It most likely codes of errors. How them to understand?

The second from left is Power indicator.
Normally this indicator glows white when the computer is turned on. However if you turn the computer off into sleep mode, this indicator flashes amber: one sec on two sec off.
Both while the system is shutting down and while it remains turned off.
The 3rd from left, battery indicator show the condition of the battery charge: white indicates the battery is fully charged, amber indicates the battery is charging and flashing amber indicates low battery condition.
The second from right seems to be an SD card (bridge media slot) indicator and this glows white when the computer is accessing the sd card.
For me it sounds like the motherboard is affected and this means you need an help from technicians
