When I use my "One For All mobile in-ear gel buds with integrated microphone" to talk with Skype, video call or voice call using WiFi, the volume is extremely loud making almost impossible to use the earphone. I have searched for answers in Skype community blog and in Internet in general, but I have not fund how to fix it.
Another question is that I saw in the features of Skype for android that you mention using Skype with 3G. Here in Spain, I have tried but both doesn't work, video and voice call.

That still doesn't explain why Flash alone is far louder than all other audio sources. And even a DVD source has its own volume control given Windows 7's per-application mixer controls. That's the only thing that's made this all bearable. So API or no API, something has caused Flash to be much louder than other sources.

It isn't uncommon that your fan should run when streaming videos, especially flash.
Is you laptop properly ventilated ? ----> If it's resting on the bed, cushion, carpet or some other soft surface that could be blocking the vents, or which doesn't allow heat to dissipate, your laptop will heat up more than usual, and hence the fan will have to run faster.
Is your laptop on a cool surface that is ventilated? (like a wooden table)?
Are you running Lion? Ever since I upgraded to Lion my fan is almost always running, video or not.

Max volume - extreme loudness - expert tricks - analog summing? mastering

within temptation use protools. i need to bounce my tracks with highest loudness possible in logic. i already use the multipressor and the adlimit in the sum. do you have some special tricks for extreme loudness without using analog equipment? or do i have to use analog summing and singnal-separation? whatever i do, i never come close to mastered high-end productions with ANY full digital solutions (e.g. Oxford plugins). i work with mastering experts who use outboard analog summing. please no "let your tracks be mastered and mixed by pros" comments cause this is already happening. thank you!

Anyway , if you want to achieve loud mix, it all starts @ the beginning or even before But as you probably don't want to hear such things, than:
a) keep your tracks @ low volume - just keep some headroom for plugins
b) stay low @ your 2Bus or main output (peaks should not exceed -3 db but some might say -6 (which means quieter) is even better.
c) bounce this mix and import it to a new- I suggest "mastering" template, where you can work with the bounced mix, split it among more tracks, use paralell compression techniques...
d) on your main output use Sonnox Limiter. I find it the best Limiter plugin around. among other things it probably handles the best the thing you want - getting it LOUD (witthout sounding too flat).
Although I agree that DAWs and plugins really are only tools, I have to say that Logic's Adaptive Limiter isn't as good tool

Wake from sleep volume extremely loud after 10.9.4 update

Every time I wake from sleep since the 10.9.4 update, my Mac Pro's volume to my speakers (via headphone jack) seems to be insanely loud despite system prefs showing the volume level at middle. Normally I like to keep my speaker's volume high and turn the system volume down, but it seems like the OSX is ignoring the system volume setting after waking up. It reverts to proper behavior when I hit volume up or down on the keyboard. Anyone notice this?

You can take your Mac to a Mac Genius or Apple Authorized Service Provider to replace the battery on the logic board.

C4 audio volume is extremely loud

I'm using Captivate 4. A couple of months ago I had trouble with audio in that it was very low even when I shouted into the microphone. I tried using Sound Forge to record and had the same type of trouble, so I recorded from a laptop using Sound Forge, moved the audio files via jump drive to the office pc and imported them into Captivate. Lots of trouble, so I asked my IS department to look into it while I was in a class for three weeks.
Supposedly the problem is resolved, and when I use the Windows Sound recorder all is well.
Now when I record using Captivate and listen to the audio it's extremely loud to the point of distortion in the background. But when I ran the audio test it never came close to red. I've turned the mic volume to the lowest setting and turned off the boost. My IT people believe it is a "gain setting" in Captivate, but I can't find anything about gain settings in the Help files.
Any ideas?

Captivate 4 tries to automatically set the gain level if you use the Calibrate option from the Calibrate Input button on the Audio Settings dialog.
You set the gain level by talking into the microphone while Captivate is calibrating. Eventually after a few seconds it will arrive at a good level.
Captivate 5 allows you to set this gain yourself, as well as do an automatic level.

I suppose that you can demand all you want. It would have to be proven that the iOS update broke this particular function but it could also be said that it was just a matter of time that the broken thing manifested itself. Since the phone is out of warranty, it could also be said that it is your risk to update software. I'm not trying to be argumentative here, but we are not Apple. We are users like you and just try and provide support to other users. What you decide to do from here is your decision. I've given you all I know to do.

Same problem for me. So bad in fact that I can't really use my headphones for calls. I have tried it with several sets of headphones. My primary are the Bang and Olufsen headphones which were great with the previous iphone 4 and 3.
Apple please address this issue.

Headphone volume too loud in Facetime calls - iPad Mini Retina 7.1.1

Hi,
I have an iPad Mini Retina Space grey 32GB Wifi version updated to the newest iOS 7.1.1.
I've noticed that the headphone volume during Facetime calls is always extremely loud even on lowest volume setting and there's no way to lower the volume further down. It's independent of the person I call, and the same problem appears in both in Facetime video and Facetime audio calls.
The bug only appears in the Facetime app and only after inserting the headphones and (not noticable when using the speaker). Setting a volume limit in Settings doesn't affect this loud volume during Facetime calls. I've tried 3 different headphones and I've also done a full reset of the iPad and setting up a completely new iCloud account.
I also have an iPad Mini (1st gen) and an iPhone 4 and I don't experience this bug on those devices.
Have anyone experienced the same bug? Any solution?

pandora? once I got used to it, it bacame second nature to simple reach over and toggle the hotspot off and on. not great if you have the constant need, but if you have the constant need, it wouldnt be shutting down in the first place.
If this is a big issue for you, and there is no persistant wifi available, you might think about a standalone portable hotspot. Pretty much every carrier in the US has one they would be happy to sell you, along with a data plan.

What model MacBook is this? Ihave a 2008 black Macbook that gets extremly loud when using flash sites or viewing videos. The Macbook is on SL.
I have a 2010 MacBook that the fans rarely spin up 100% and is extremely quiet when doing the same things that I do on the black MacBook. This MB is on Lion.
There may be nothing you can do but depending upon which model you have, you can take off the bottom cover and make sure the fans are clean and not blocked by dust.

I am having similar problems with my phone, mostly just when using the earphones/mic that came with the phone. Don't have any solutions yet, just wanted you to know there are others having similar problems.

Loud Noise after disconnecting Video Camera

I was importing some videos from my Sony video camera, and when I was done I turned the camera off, unplugged the firewire, and there was an extremely loud BLURP! It was like some kind of error noise, but I have yet to find out what that might have been. My volume was not even all of the way up, and it was louder than I have ever heard anything come from the speakers.
Just seeing if anyone might have an explanation. No problems with the computer after it happened. I just want to know what it might have been. Thanks.

I had to laugh when I read your description of the Blurp! Only because I think I've been getting the same noise, maybe 3-4 times the past couple weeks, when iTunes has completed the ripping of a CD. And not every CD recently, 3 or 4 of maybe 30 rips. I've had no problems either after the "Blurp!", just that noise that scared the crap out of me the first time.
I've connected a Kodak digital camera quite a few times and have not had that noise, just when ripping a CD. Related somehow? Possibly? Who knows, just thought I'd share my Blurp.

Using DVI to Video/ S-video Adapter

I have been trying to use my DVI to Video/S-video adapter with my Daewoo Flat Screen (not flat panal) TV. I have tried every resolution and still everything is small and Fuzzy and it is extremely hard to make out anything. Im wanting to use that adapter to play my game. I am connecting using a S-Video Cable. Please any help. It is a regular Television set NOT LCD or Plasma or any kinda of flat panal just has a flat screen.

Not necessarily. It will depend on what eventually solves the problem. I think you still have a couple of choices to try:
1. Download (& purchase) a copy of DisplayConfigX. This utility will allow you to "manually" set resolutions that your mini can provide, basically "overridding" what the mini thinks is connected to it. (ref: http://www.3dexpress.de/)
2. Replace the DVI-to-S-Video adapter to rule out the adapter being the problem. (You may want to try this first.)
