Volume in a call 6600 slide

I don't appear to be able to scroll from left and right to increase the speaker volume whilst in a call? Any one experienced this too? I am assuming that the scroll from left to right is on the blue part of the nagivation key - but all I go to is my calendar or new message -
Appreciate any guidedance on this!

As far as I can tell (and I've re-read the manual a few times), there is no way to increase/decrease the call volume (in the phone settings or while on a call). This is a HUGE disappointment for me as I'm often in a noisy environment at work.
If anyone knows of a way to do this, I'd also be greatly appreciative

- During a phone call, if I put the conversation on speakers ==> it works and the volume bar reappears. I can control the volume with + and - buttons. But when the conversation is over, the bar disappears again.
- With the headphones, everything is ok!
- I also noticed (only a few times) that when I do a silent to ringer mode, the volume slider reappears and works correctly during 2 or 3 seconds, before disappearing again.
I don't know what is problem,because the speakers work.

Can not use TOUCH function on Nokia 6600 slide-
turned on sensor in phone settings, but when i touch the PHONE it does not work.
Please, tell me how use this function or maybe my phone is out of order

As long as your Sensor Settings are On within Menu, Settings, Phone, Sensor Settings then you just need to do the following -
Tapping
The tap function allows you to quickly
mute and reject calls and alarm tones, and
to display a clock just by double-tapping
the back or front of the phone when the
slide is closed.
Select Menu > Settings > Phone >
Sensor settings to activate the tap
function and vibration feedback.
Mute calls or alarms
Double-tap the phone.
Reject a call or snooze an alarm after
muting it
Double-tap the phone again.
Display the clock
Double-tap the phone.
(If you have missed calls or received new
messages, you must view them before you
can see the clock.)
Simply, if you double tap the screen when the slide is closed and you can see the clock appear then it is working.

6600 slide with Nuvi 710

I previously owned a 6250i and was able to connect via bluetooth to my garmin nuvi 710 satnav and make calls and send text messages using the satnav
I have now upgraded to a 6600 slide and the text function is not there with this phone
Can anyone answer this problem for me

That's all the clarification I need. Right, off to buy a 16GB microSD card! Yippee!!!

6600 slide map files help

Help... Please?!
I got my 6600 slide yesterday. I put my own 2gb memory card in and put the one which I got with the new phone into an older phone (6300). I notice in the memory card which came with the phone there is a folder called "cities" which has folders called 'voicefiles' and 'diskcache' inside..which then have even more folders with more folders/files! My question is...are these needed to make Maps work? I've tried selecting the folders to send via Bluetooth to my new phone but it says "unable to send selected items."
sorry if this is very basic or if I am repeating a question. I had a search on here and couldn't find any relevant info. Also I tested the maps app by putting in my postal code to view address but its a dull yellow page that comes up with the little globe timer just spinning all the time and not doing anything further!
PS I just spell checked this and I can't believe what word was suggested to replace "Diskcache"...I'm quite amused but surprised!

Start up the Maps application in the 6600 and allow it to connect to the internet, and the Cities folder structure will then be created on your new memory card. After this, you will need to use Map Loader (from www.nokia.com/maps) to install map and vice data onto the memory card. After this, everything will be back to normal.

LCD screen 6600 slide

i was wondering if someone could help me i have had my 6600 slide for 2 months and i just got a new lcd screen put in and i have had it back 3 days and it has gone again. is anyone else having this problem?

I am having the same problems with my 6600 slide, which I got in early November - it started with the bright light going out when it's closed, then it stopped being bright when it's open or closed. I've powered off, removed the battery and now I occasionally get a black screen, or reversed colors. Sometimes I get fuzzy psychodelic colors and some times the screensaver image shows up partially below and above or the image shifts, as if its on a slideshow, stuck repeating itself halfway.
I'm going to send mine to Asia's customer care, because I purchased in Hong Kong and when I had called USA tech support, they do not support Asia purchased mobiles. Regardless, this is the same company worldwide and an Asia or US warranty should be covered worldwide. Are you telling me that I need a new LCD screen? So is that under warranty since my phone is only 4 months old!

Loud volume after phone call. iOS 5 iPhone 4

I'm having an issue where my ringer volume seems to be up all the way after ending a call, no matter when it's set to. If I use the volume buttons and turn it all the way down, the lock sounds and dialing tone (when you press numbers in the phone) is still extremely loud. I use the volume buttons to change "Ringer Volume" all the way down to one notch, then use the app switch's volume slider and turn it all the way down. Still max volume. The only way to get it back to normal is to go to Settings > Sounds and move the volume slider there a bit, or to open Music and start playing a song. Then everything goes back to normal. What's causing this? It's very annoying.

Just for a little clarity, the volume isn't actually turned up after the call, it's still in the same location. The sounds themselves, however, seem to be as loud as possible. I can change the volume with the app switcher slider and the volume buttons, but they do not change how loud the sounds are until I go into settings > sound and move that slider a bit.

6600 slide update problem

I made a huge mistake couple of days ago, I tried to update firmware on my 6600 slide, since I now have a new phone and I want to give this one away. Anyway, update failed (this happened last year, too, but I found a solution somewhere, I can' t remember where, unfortunately), and now I can't switch phone on. I found some related topics here and followed the procedure with removing and inserting usb cable, adapter and battery, my computer finally succeeded and picked it up as "new hardware installed and ready to use", but Nokia Software Updater can't see it, I tried more than 10 times. Can someone, please, help me, and give me some kind of advice what to do, I would be really greatful. I'm so frustrated, I wish I never tried to update.

Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be much more to do. I reckon you have tried to pull the battery out for 1-2 mins and given it another shot to see if it can connect with ovi suite or NSU? In case it won't you will have to take it to a Nokia care point.
To me it sounds like the update installation has gone that wrong and it's nothing else to do.

In your first post you mention you have done a reset and a restore. Those are the last two processes in the user troubleshooting. If those do not work, then the last thing is to go to the Genius Bar. You say you went to Apple and they opened the phone and re-seated the connectors? That sounds unusual, because if there was a hardware issue,they would replace the hardware. You say you cannot get a replacement, is that because you are out of warranty? An out of warranty replacement is only $199 plus tax. It seems to me since you mention the fact you need to press hard to get the screen to react there is something going on with the hardware. If this problem has been going on for over a year, have you been reporting this to Apple. You say you cannot get a replacement and you are on the second phone, I wonder why they are denying you a replacement. Is there something you are not telling us??

Do you experience low volume from the calling party in phone calls?

I have my iPhone for about 9 days now. Prior to yesterday, I did not experience any problem with the volume.
What' happening is this: when a caller calls in, the volume of the caller is so small, that I really can't hear at all! It is annoying as I receive calls from clients. And I had to look for another phone to call back the any callers, or turn on my speaker. These solutions are temporary. I had tried increasing the "ringer" volume to maximum, using the controls on the top left side of the iPhone. Still the volume was so soft. Prior to yesterday, the caller's volume was loud and clear! I suspect something went wrong with my soundcard, or something. I off and on my iPhone, but it does not solve the problem.
I wonder if others faced the same problem? And any ways I can rectify the problem?

The earpiece volume for phonecalls on my 3GS has been weak since day 1. I have the volume for earpiece calls set to full and it is still hard to hear the person on the other end unless I am in a really quiet room. It shouldn't be like this... max volume should be too loud to use 95% of the time, if you are using any device at max anything it indicates that the device was underspecified... do you drive your car at redline on the tach all the time? No, it is just for very rare occassions when you really need to outrun a tornado...

Unable to renew Nokia Maps license, 6600 Slide, SW...

Please can anyone help,. I have a Nokia 6600 Slide with the latest software (V6.55). I was successfully using Nokia Maps GPS navigation having purchased a license key for UK/Ireland in January 2011. I have an external bluetooth GPS device. Howver, the Maps license key has now expired (as expected, it was a 1-year licence). Without a license I cannot use the voice-guided navigation function.
When I go throoug the phone menus to purchase a 1-year license again, I get to the menu that asks which payment method I wan to use (I select Visa). At this point the screen just refreshes, with no message or error code. I am not asked for payment card details. I cannot get past the "payment method" menu.
This process worked just fine for me in Jan 2011 when I first purchased a license, and other web browing functions using the built-in web browser are just fine. I have tried refreshing the Nokia software (It was already at V6.55, which is the latest level).
I would appreciate any hints or tips as I really miss my in-car GPS navigation.

hi all,
pls help on my 6600 slide. just got this phone yesterday. but it's out of my expectation. there's a func tapping, but it seems not working at all when i tap on the screen twice or either behind the phone. i had follow on the manual to close the slide also but it's not working also. do any1 know how this works? is it possible to upgrade the firmware to fix this prob?
another thing is the camera mode. from the screen it seems fade and not clear at all but after u capture, the picture became clear. why this happen? tried to play around the settings but it's not work. well not so satisfied bout this phone. any1 know how to fix this 2 prob?

try to reset your phone to factory settings, if this does not work, try taking your phone to your local Nokia Care Centre for them to look at it. i am not sure but since it is a newish phone it may not have firmware updates out for it yet so Nokia Care Centre is your best bet, as you may have a defective/faulty handset

6600 slide camera flash not working

hi guys
i have recenetly got the 6600 slide, when i first got it TWO days ago the flash worked fine whilst taking pics at night.
now however the flash just wont work. ive searched the forums for similar problems but no luck with this
i have tried with the flash on, flash on auto, and in night mode but still nothing is this a problem with all nokia phones?????

Let me add into that.
You can activate the night mode function by turning off the flash setting first. Regarding with the operator logo, you might order or download one from your operator (I believe it will just cost you a small fraction).
