Volume is too low on the dictation indicator

When I tap the microphone icon to dictate anything into my phone, the tone it makes to let you know that it is taking your dication is very very low.  The same when I tap the "done" button at the end of dictating.  The volume of the tone is so low, that I cannot tell when dication recognition has started or stopped.

Hello there, new iphone 5s.
The following link from the iPhone User Guide provides some useful steps for increasing the volume setting on your iOS device:
Volume controls - iPhone
http://help.apple.com/iphone/7/#/iph3bd01180
Volume controls
When you’re on the phone or listening to songs, movies, or other media, the buttons on the side of iPhone adjust the audio volume. Otherwise, the buttons control the volume for the ringer, alerts, and other sound effects.
WARNING: For important information about avoiding hearing loss, see Important safety information.
Lock the ringer and alert volumes. Go to Settings > Sounds and turn off “Change with Buttons.” To limit the volume for music and videos, go to Settings > Music > Volume Limit.
Note: In some European Union (EU) countries, iPhone may warn that you’re setting the volume above the EU recommended level for hearing safety. To increase the volume beyond this level, you may need to briefly release the volume control. To limit the maximum headset volume to this level, go to Settings > Music > Volume Limit and turn on EU Volume Limit. To prevent changes to the volume limit, go to Settings > General > Restrictions.
You can also use either volume button to take a picture or record a video. See Take photos and videos.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
Cheers,
Pedro.

My sister had a problem with call volume being too low on the iPhone 5S.  Is the iPhone 6 louder?  Is anyone else feeling that call volume on iPhone 5S isn't loud enough?

I personally haven't experienced much of the "reverberation/feedback" when using a headset on the i4S...
Yes, I have near-perfect hearing too (for scope, squeaky brakes hurt my ears) I come from many conversations on many phones and types and first off, CDMA technology is great for coverage, terrible for voice quality. HD Voice in Europe made for some of the best phone conversations I've ever had.
Back on track, feedback is most noticable (similar to the landline phone) when using the iPhone without a headset, but for me it's not an absolute criticality mainly because I use VoIP apps alot, so maybe it has desensitized me some over the past year.
But whenever I'm on a call, and the other person has me on speakerphone, I have alot of trouble talking because of the feedback loop caused. So the less of my voice I hear the better I can talk.
Have you tried a bluetooth headset yet?

  • When I send project to iTunes the volume is too low. I have auto normalize checked.

When I save project to itunes the volume is too low on the entire project.  I have auto normalize checked.  I have been sure to reduce the volumes below the red clipping dots.  This includes the master volume.  It is fine in GB, but in itunes I need to increase the volume slider to max to bring it up to what I was hearing in GB.  Is sthere something else I should do to reproduce more volume when I share a project to itunes?  Thank you.

DId you try a comparioson when exporting the same song with and without "Auto Normaize".
Technically there is the possibility that "Auto Normilize" will reduce the overall level of your final mix. If there is a short spike above 0dB that you don't hear as an audible pop and GarageBand brings down the overall level to that that spike to 0dBFS, and by doing so, lowering that level of your mix by that amount.
    Hope that helps

  • HP dv6 (windows 7-64): Speaker Volume is too low

    Hello All,
I know you have been dealing with "volume is too low" issues in the pass and I wonder if you would like to help me.
I own a HP Pavillion dv6 quad edition (windows 7-64) and I am using the latest IDT driver for my laptop but the volume is really bad (too low). The problem is only present with the laptop's speakers because when I use headphones the sound is very good.
I have already tried the trick one of you have reccomended ---i.e. to uninstall latest driver (and software) and install the previous IDT driver so that I would get the "loudness enhancements" tab. I did it, and eventually got access to the tab but then the sound of my laptop went completely off... no sound whatsoever. In the end, I had to reinstall the latest IDT driver and since had regained sound again but the "volume is too low" issue obviously remains.
    Any ideas?

    Hello @JGS27 ,

    ANN

    Hi Isk8ter,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
What version of Pages are you working with?  I'm assuming '09 since you reference OS X 10.7.4 above.
I've included the link to the Pages User Manual for you below.
Page 253 starts the chapter on Printing, Shareing and Exporting your document.
    Pages '09 User Manual

Setting the Paper Size and Orientation
Before you print, you should make sure the paper size and orientation are set the way you want by opening the Page Setup dialog.
To set paper size and orientation:
1 Choose File > Page Setup.
2 In the Page Setup dialog, choose the printer you will use from the “Format for” popup
    menu.
3 Choose a standard paper size from the Paper Size pop-up menu.
Also, see page 266 of the Pages User Manual for more specific instructions for creating a custom template for envelopes.
    Hope this helps ...

  • Ipod line out volume far too low

Sorry if this has been dealt with many times before but why is the volume limit so low on the headphone jack on the iPod 120GB classic? It makes it vidtually impossible to hear music with a lot of dynamic range and you might as well forget about listening to any Classical music outside of a sound-proofed room.
I also want to connect the iPod to my HiFi and Car Stereo via the jack but I have to turn the HiFi so far up to get any volume that distortions etc. become apparent. Again, it makes a £179 purchase pretty pointless for the use I have of the player. I wish I had noticed the limitations before the 14 day statutory rights return policy expired. Can this be resolved by firmware upgrade or is the iPod destined to eBay??

    Hi Syex,
I'm sorry about your negative experience with this volume issue in Firefox OS, as well as the update time for your your ZTE Open C.
I understand your frustration about the volume, and this is something that I also experience regularly when connecting my device to an external source. You have my complete empathy on this, and I will continue to push for investigation and a resolution of this issue.
I also understand that you are experiencing a long time for the download of updates on your device. ZTE is responsible for releasing updates, including hosting the update files. This slow download speed may be caused by a slowness on their servers. This is the first time that I hear of this issue, but I will forward this report to our Technical Account Managers if I see other reports around update speeds for ZTE.
Regarding the [http://firefoxosbuilds.org/install/] page, it was created and maintained by the community of Mozilla contributors. Since this is an unofficial update process that can brick the devices, it's recommended that only advanced users attempt it. If you have Windows, you should also be able to just double-click the '''flash_windows.bat''' file inside the Unzipped folder.
Here is a Youtube video I just found with instructions of how to open a Terminal on Windows, as well as simple basic commands, in case double-clicking the '''flash_windows.bat''' does not work:

Again, I'm sorry about your negative experience with Firefox OS. We will continue to fight for an Open Web and to improve the system, and hopefully you will give us another try in the future.
    Thanks,
    - Ralph

  • Volume is too low

I have Altec Lansing ADA745 plugged into my mac. The volume output is too low with all controls set to maximum. Any assistance or suggestions would be appreciated.

This low sound issue appears to be either driver related, or there is a low powered amp that drives the speakers in some of these laptops. When I use a headset the sound is extremely loud, so much so that I have to turn the volume level down. Uninstall the Realtek HD driver and let Windows install its own default driver and the sound level is much higher. People should forgo the Toshiba Realtek driver version and try using the very latest drivers from Realtek. For most it appears that when we enable "Loudness Equalization" through the Realtek HD Audio Manager the volume is significantly louder. It also helps somewhat to set the "equalization" to Powerful too. Realtek nor Toshiba have voiced a better solution to this issue. As such this is the best "fix" we have at the moment when using the internal laptop speakers.
My system sounds (DVD/Audio CD audio is a different story) on an L505 series laptop are much louder now that the "Loudness Equalization" is enabled along with the EQ set to "Powerful". One thing people should also check is that both the master volume level is set to 100% along with the audio slider or setting in program that is playing the audio on the laptop.

  • Help!  Sometime, the voice is too low for the receiver

Hi, I've found the voice issue of my iPhone: Sometimes, I use my iPhone talking with others, the receivers complains the voice is too low(Especially, serious when it's low battery). I've restarted my iPhone but it doesn't work. It's back to normal after it's fully charged. Do you why? and how to fix it? Thx.
    Frankie

The volume via the built-in phone/earphone is no problem. The issue may be the built-in mic, it seems to be too leak for receive the voice, so the others(the receiver) can't hear clearly.

  • Volume level too low on SoundBlaster X-Fi Extreme Au

[size="2" face="Helv">?I installed a SoundBlaster X-Fi Extreme Audio in the new higher-end system that I just got. It's a Intel Core2 Duo with plenty of dual memory on a fast bus; the 700W PS is currently only driving the base system and one Radeon 2600XT, so there should not be a power problem. I've disabled the?motherboard sound components. It's running Vista32 and I've (cleaned and) updated every driver possible. I've been through all the Knowledge Base and Forums, and have?checked out most everything that seemed potentially applicable.
?The main problem is that the volume is really too low. Even though I have every output setting at 00, the sound is just audible. I am configured only for 2. output. This is true whether I direct the output through headphones or into my analog home stereo (to get listenable levels, I have to take the gain to about 3x of any other component and get the expected associated hum from doing so); the same is true if I direct through digital system connections for HDMI to my HP w22087h monitor (also set at max)?or to my LCD TV.
?Whether part of the problem, or a result of having all the volume settings max'd, there is often a moderate 'pop' when output is started and there seems to me a "ramp up" in the volume (only about a second in length) that keep me from hearing?some of the shorter Windows 'systems sounds'. I hate to be a bother (I readily admit to not being an expert on any of this), but the loudest sound these days is from banging my head against the wall trying to fix this problem. ;-)
    Thanks

When you play music from iTunes can you play it at full volulme? If so, it is not the MBP it is either something to do with the MP4 player (what are you using for that) or the conversion.

  • Volume much to low at the beginning - 'Automation' at waveformview?

    Hi there,
hopefully somebody can help me. I do film a lot and so I use audition to correct or edit the audiotracks of my videofootage.
My problem ist that I got a video from a conference were the xlr-input was pretty pretty low at the beginning and then was then linearly raising after I told it the audio-technican. Now I need to correct this, so I chose "Edit in Audition" in Adobe Premiere and couldn't find any way to raise the volume with "Keyframes" like I expected. So I googled a bit and it looked like the only way is the automation for multitracks. The problem is that I need to raise the volume much more than +15db, but 15db seems to be the limit at automation in audition. On the other hand I would love to do it without a multitracksession.
    So my questions are:
    1. Is there any other way to raise the volume in a "keyframe-way" in my waveformview or do I need to import my wav-file to a multitracksession?
    2. Can I change the +15db-limit at automation?
That's what it looks like and my goal is to get it all on the same level. Maybe that's completely the wrong way to do it, if yes I would appreaciate if somebody could tell me the right way.
And yes, I know that there will be much noise at the beginning after raising the volume so much, but I need it. :-)
    Fabian

Yes you can do it using keyframes in the Waveform edit view using Effects/Amplitude and Compression/Gain Envelope or Fade Envelope. You are still limited by the 15dB limit but there is no reason why you can't do it several times or raise the gain of the whole chunk so that some of it is too loud and then use the Gain Envelope to increase the gain at the start and reduce it back to normal level at the end.

  • 8350i volume DC too low - won't turn up

New here - hope I have the right area for this posting.  Since program update, can't turn volume up on Direct Connect.  Was told by support that volume on phone should only be at 50% but even at 100%, DC's are difficult to hear.  Anyone else having this issue?

I have BB 8350i and having the same problem with volume. It's too low that I have to turn on the speaker just to talk. Any suggestion? Thx

  • Max volume still too low...

After replacing the hard and reinstalling OSX the volume setting is too low. With volume turned all the way up it produces about half the sound of another identical computer playing identical music.
Ballance is centered and all volume bars are in their full to the right position.
Is there any way to increase the system volume beyond the OS max or reset the volume base?

Maybe one of the speakers is blwon up. Either that or a drive has gone corrupt in which case maybe you should do and archive and install re-installation of the OS.

  • Alarm volume way too low

Droid Razor Maxx, 2 days old.  Alarm volume is just barely audible if I put my ear next to the speaker.  Ringer volume seems ok and the speakerphone seems ok as well.  Yes, I've gone to settings volume and turned all of them up.  I also went to the alarm app itself and made sure it was all the way up also.
The alarm volume is only audible if you actually put the phone up to your ear.
    Suggestions??

The cache was already empty and it (of course) didn't have a clear button.  Data had a tiny bit in it, cleared that.  Alarm volume was unchanged; still too low.
When I go to settings>sound>volume and move the alarm slider from the far right to the middle then back to the far right, the alarm sounds, but it is exactly the same volume....too low.
Factory Reset??  Doesn't that mean I get to spend a couple of hours setting the phone up again??

  • T420 Microphone volume way too low

    Hi,
I am having a problem with my ThinkPad's microphone. The problem occurs with the internal microphone as well as an external microphone. The volume is way too low. I need to have my mouth very close (almost against it) to the microphone in order to be able to record anything and therefore  to be able to see my microphone level shift at the recording devices section of Windows. Because of this using a mic is pretty much impossible. The sound level recorded is way too low.
I have tried a lot of things and settings: I have deleted the SoundMax drivers to try the drivers that Windows installs by default, and they don't work either. I have tried the put the microphone boost level to the highest settings possible and it certainly helps, but it is still almost just as bad, plus the noise added when boosting the level is unacceptable. I have also checked if the microphone sound recorded isn't being played through the speakers and it isn't. I also disabled any type of post signal processing I came across, but this also didn't help.
As a last resort I completely reinstalled Windows on my system and installed the SoundMax drivers again, but this didn't work either.
    Important thing:
I just tried a Ubuntu live CD and the microphone worked fine. I could just sit away from it and talk to it and it would record my voice pretty good. So I guess the whole problem is pretty much software related.
    Some side info:
As external mic I was using a headset that comes with almost any type of smartphone nowadays, a headset which has a small (and usually clip-on) microphone and a four pole jack-plug (which the T420 only accepts unfortunately).
OS: Windows 7 64 bit Professional
I really, really hope someone is able to help me with my problem. I love my T420, but this is just unacceptable and very annoying.

Try disabling all of the Conexant services in Services.
Also go into Sound, Recording, Internal Microphone, Levels tab.
Set volume to 100, and boost to +10. This is what works optimally for my W520 on TeamSpeak.
    W520: i7-2720QM, Q2000M at 1080/688/1376, 21GB RAM, 500GB + 750GB HDD, FHD screen
