Volume is too soft.

The volume on my iPod is too soft.  I've tried different headphones, but I have to have it at maximum level to hear the music.  I have tried resetting all the settings, but it did not work.

I have found playing from the headphone jack plays softer on car stereos and what not and while with earbuds I tend to use the volume around 1/3, when playing in my car I have to play the volume on the iPod up to about 80-90% to get "normal" levels.
So have you tried simply cranking up the volume on the iPod itself first?
When you play out of the dock connector, this doesn't work because it is a line level output and the iPod's volume control doesn't do anything. But when playing out of the headphone jack, the iPod's volume can be and should be adjusted up high.

  • MP4 video volume too soft at client end

Using 5.5 I have been creating a series of modules published in Mp4 format for a client.
I have had to change a copyright statement on the title screen of modules that were publioshed and signed off some time ago.
Now when I re-publish them the client tells me the volume is too soft and they need to have 100% setting on head set volume to hear it very softly.
I haven't changed any settings - the volume at this end remains good and the client can hear other audio sources just fine.
    Any ideas?

No-one has been able to resolve this so far.
Since posting I have published various versions of a test project using MP3 and Wav audio, from a head set and a Yeti USB mic - direct into Captivate as well as recorded in Audacity and imported into Captivate (Version 5.5).
Thge quality of the recording obvioulsy varies but the volume is consistent to the settings.
I have imported it into Drop box - my usual method of delivery to the client and tested on a separate machine - all seems fine
However when I ask a colleague to check it out the volume is far too soft and even at full settings both within the MP4 player skin as well as on the compyter settigns it is only just sufficient.
    Anyone any ideas ...please

  • Lumia 800 - Ringtone and vibration is too soft

I just got the lumia 800 for 2 days.
I found that the ringtone volume is too soft and the vibration is not strong enough (in adddition with the problem of once start vibration in incoming call).
I hope some update can help fix this problems.

I would not be so sure about that..

My vibration is also quite weak, though it's quite OK when you run the vibration diagnosis.. ##634# or something like that..

  • I have a ringtone that works great on my computer but the volume is very soft on the phone.  I have adjusted the volume on the phone but the ringtone volume is still too low.  Is there any way to adjust the volume of a ringtone?

I have managed to sync a ringtone to my ne i phone 5C but the volume is way too soft.
The sound is great on my computer but hard to hear at all on the phone.  I have tried turning up the volume button on the phone but it doesn' do anything for the ringtone.  Any ideas on how to solve this problem.  The ringtone is "calypso blackberry" and I am not able to locate it in the Apple store ringtones.  This should be so simple and it is making me nuts.
    Help anyone please.
    Bob

So you use an RCA cable going into what before it hits the MBP?
EDIT: Also in System Preferences > Sound > Input > you can select the input & adjust the volume accordingly as long as it's plugged in.

  • When I share a garageband file to itunes the volume is way too soft.

I don't know what I did. Suddenly everything I export to iTunes comes out way too soft compared to files I have exported before. My master volume seems to be set right, it plays loud enough in GB, my export settings are set to Auto Normalize, compression is on, my volume in iTunes is turned up - I'm at a loss here. Please help!

  • Classical Music too soft

I have an issue with the classical music I've gotten off of iTunes for my iPod. It's just too soft. Using the "Sound Check" feature doesn't help as it only compresses the signal so it's all soft.
It's even more noticeable with the Belkin iPod system I just put in my Scion. It's cool because I can change songs with the iPod in the glove box, but on the classical music, I can turn the stereo up to "Max" and barely hear it. I'm about ready to have them take the Belkin system out.
    Any ideas?

No, my volume limiter isn't on. It's at full volume, but that doesn't matter with the Belkin system.

  • Dynamics audio effect glitchy. Audio plays back too softly.

    PP 7.1.0
    Mac OS X 10.8.4
Basic timeline. Three tracks of audio. One of the tracks is playing back VERY quietly. This track has a dynamics effect applied, with only the "limiter" function checked on (at -3db). Audio on this channel plays back too softly. A restart of premiere fixes the problem for a few moments, but then its back to soft again. Playing the clip in the source monitor plays it back at the correct volume. Turning the effect off altogether also plays the audio at the original (louder) volume - albeit minus the limiter. The waveform itself is plenty loud. But when the effect is engaged, the clip suddenly plays back about 15db quieter than it should.
    Any ideas?

    Hi T-MACK,
This may not be much help but I had the same problem. Inspection showed that I'd inadvertantly set the camera on long play when shooting the footage. It seemed fine when importing into imovie but playback appeared to be double speed. I posted a question on this forum but couldn't get a satisfactory solution. Re-setting the camera and reimporting didn't help. However, I borrowed a friends camcorder and reimported the same video from that. It worked. I can't see why but it did.
Perhaps sommeone will come up with a better answer.

  • SOUND IS TOO SOFT IN ML 10.8.2

not sure why - but many audio sources seem too soft....
audio is up all the way in main apple menu
    - itunes is too soft with volume maxed out
    - many you tube vids are too soft when page vol is maxed
    - and more
    - swapped earbuds with several brands - all too soft
any way to check max APPLE vol for 10.8.2 with macbook?

Trash the sound plist file which is found in your HOME preference folder.  Afterwards, repair permissions and restart your computer.  Empty the trash.  Another plist file will be recreated.  Or consider purchasing external speakers.

  • My sister had a problem with call volume being too low on the iPhone 5S.  Is the iPhone 6 louder?  Is anyone else feeling that call volume on iPhone 5S isn't loud enough?

My sister had a problem with call volume being too low on the iPhone 5S.  Is the iPhone 6 louder?  Is anyone else feeling that call volume on iPhone 5S isn't loud enough?

I personally haven't experienced much of the "reverberation/feedback" when using a headset on the i4S...
Yes, I have near-perfect hearing too (for scope, squeaky brakes hurt my ears) I come from many conversations on many phones and types and first off, CDMA technology is great for coverage, terrible for voice quality. HD Voice in Europe made for some of the best phone conversations I've ever had.
Back on track, feedback is most noticable (similar to the landline phone) when using the iPhone without a headset, but for me it's not an absolute criticality mainly because I use VoIP apps alot, so maybe it has desensitized me some over the past year.
But whenever I'm on a call, and the other person has me on speakerphone, I have alot of trouble talking because of the feedback loop caused. So the less of my voice I hear the better I can talk.
Have you tried a bluetooth headset yet?

  • When I send project to iTunes the volume is too low. I have auto normalize checked.

When I save project to itunes the volume is too low on the entire project.  I have auto normalize checked.  I have been sure to reduce the volumes below the red clipping dots.  This includes the master volume.  It is fine in GB, but in itunes I need to increase the volume slider to max to bring it up to what I was hearing in GB.  Is sthere something else I should do to reproduce more volume when I share a project to itunes?  Thank you.

DId you try a comparioson when exporting the same song with and without "Auto Normaize".
Technically there is the possibility that "Auto Normilize" will reduce the overall level of your final mix. If there is a short spike above 0dB that you don't hear as an audible pop and GarageBand brings down the overall level to that that spike to 0dBFS, and by doing so, lowering that level of your mix by that amount.
    Hope that helps

  • Facetime the volume is too loud

I just updated my iPod touch to iOS 6 and when I  Facetime the volume is too loud even if I turn it down. I tried to restore it several times but nothing changed...what can I do? Do I have to send it to Apple support?

I am having a similar problem - but it's not exactly the same.
I upgraded my iPhone 4S to iOS 6 when it first came out and everything seemed fine.
Last weekend, I noticed that I had soem issues with music copied to my phone which I couldn't seem to delete and after a lot of mucking about, decided the ebst best was to restore my phone to basics and re-load all of my music.
I noticed when I did the restore to rhe iPhone that it downloaded a new copye of iOS as part of the restore.
After the update, I managed to clean up my music but in phone calls, the audio on my phone - through the handset speaker is too loud and it makes the speaker vibrate.  If i try to use the volume buttons, i can see the volume slider move up or down but the audio volume doesn't actually change very much and even at low levels the audio qulity is poor.  the speaker vibrates.  Strange thing is that if i put the phone call on speaker phone, it's fine.
If I use the headphones, volume does change on calls when i use the volume controls on the headphone cable.  it even changes when i use the volume buttons on the handset with the headphones plugged in and in both cases the audio quality is fine.
With the headphones in music volume is low but does adjust up and down using wither the cable volume controls or the ones on the handset.
Audio on music through my car sound system seems fine and does increase or decrease as I adjust it in the car.
The only issue seems to be phone caslls through the handset speaker in normal mode......

  • Will the MBP speakers blow if I play it on max. volume for too long?

Will the MBP speakers blow if I play it on max. volume for too long?

Depends what you call too long. Leave any electronics running too long it will eventually break. Might take years, but no mechanical system is immortal. No computer has yet been built around superconductors either, so heat alone would cause circuitry to fail if it is always powered. While leaving on the machine all the time (except for bad weather) is a good idea since Mac OS X is able to do that, individual components I would not always leave in use. Use your energy wisely. Not to mention max volume for too long could theoretically make you deaf if you listen to it all the time.
    Use common sense.

  • Screen too soft..easily scratches?

I have had my Sony Xperia Tablet Z now for just a few weeks. It's my first tablet after many years of owning smart phones. I have never needed a screen protector on any of my devices. The standard materials used on my devices have always coped with my normal use and not resulted in any noticeable permanent scratch marks on their screens.
It is with utter disappointment that I noticed this morning that my Sony Tablet Z, after just 3 weeks of careful use, has permanent scratches all over the screen surface . I noticed these by holding the tablet at an angle to a light source while switched off.
My real concern is that I have so many scratches after careful handling and only 3 weeks of use, the tablet hasn't even left the house yet. I paid for the confidence that comes with the Sony brand having owned many Sony products over the years and found them to be durable and reliable and built using quality materials. That confidence has been damaged now since I believe the material used for the screen on this tablet to be too soft to cope with normal use where other devices from other manufacturers have coped just fine.
I have heard that the glass screen is scratch resistant but that Sony place a soft film over the top holding the Sony logo which is not resistant. Is this true? If so, is it possible to remove it to expose the hard durable glass surface underneath?
I am intending to return the product and get a replacement and buy the screen protector, but this will be the first device i have owned that has needed this and in my opinion something Sony need to review to improve product quality. Since most smart phone and tablets come with gorilla glass (or equivalent) as standard I assumed this was the case.. it sadly appears not and looks like a screen protector is an absolute must for this device.
I would be interested to hear if others have experienced screen damage after just a few weeks of normal use too?
There are also major supply issues in the UK for accessories for this tablet as of July 2013. I ended up leaving the tablet behind on a business trip to Switzerland because I was unable to source a case for it in the UK only to find that a Sony Centre in Switzerland had plenty in stock. No screen protectors were available either.
Other than that and a few YouTube lockups I have found the tablet to be meeting and exceeding all my expectations. Just wish Sony had put gorilla glass on it.

Sorry to hear that you've got scratches on your tablet.
The display on the tablet uses the same solution as most of our phones, a scratch-resistant glass with an anti shatter film (ASF) on top. The ASF is made of plastic and is not as scratch-resistant as the glass.
I do not recommend that you remove the ASF (doing so would also void the warranty for the display and the ASF can't be replaced). It's recommended that you put a screen protector on top of the ASF.
I've tried to scratch my tablet using my fingernails but even though i press so hard that my fingers hurt it doesn't leave a mark. You must have really strong fingernails

  • HP dv6 (windows 7-64): Speaker Volume is too low

    Hello All,
I know you have been dealing with "volume is too low" issues in the pass and I wonder if you would like to help me.
I own a HP Pavillion dv6 quad edition (windows 7-64) and I am using the latest IDT driver for my laptop but the volume is really bad (too low). The problem is only present with the laptop's speakers because when I use headphones the sound is very good.
I have already tried the trick one of you have reccomended ---i.e. to uninstall latest driver (and software) and install the previous IDT driver so that I would get the "loudness enhancements" tab. I did it, and eventually got access to the tab but then the sound of my laptop went completely off... no sound whatsoever. In the end, I had to reinstall the latest IDT driver and since had regained sound again but the "volume is too low" issue obviously remains.
    Any ideas?

    Hello @JGS27 ,
    We meet again!
I see your sound is low on your notebook.
Did this start after the recovery you recently performed?
Here's some popular fixes for these types of issues:
Set the audio quality to a higher quality:
    1. Right click the Speaker icon in the bottom right corner by your time.
    2. Click Playback Devices.
    3. Click Speakers.
    4. Click properties.
    5. Click the advanced tab on the Properties window.
    6. Change the Default Format drop-down to the highest quality.
    7. Apply the properties.
    8. Click OK to close the properties window.
    9. Click OK to close the Playback Devices.
    10. Test.
    Try each of these document:

    No sound in Windows.
The speakers may also have a hardware issue. If that's the case you would need to contact HP Phone Support for service options. You can contact HP Technical Support at 1-800-474-6836 in North America. For all other regions click here.
