Volume Lowering Automatically

On some, but not all tracks, the music will start at a certain volume, then automatically drop quite a bit. To listen at the volume I'd like, I have to raise the volume, but then the first few seconds before it automatically drops are really loud. It happens with the built in speaker, over headphones, and over bluetooth, so it is not specific to how I play the tracks. This is not new to the latest update; I've been having the issue for a while. It does not affect the same tracks played on the desktop player, so I know it is not the content of the song. Is anyone else having the same issue? Has anyone found a solution?

Have the same issue, happens after some time i didnt use the client.
Typically only on the the first song i play.. after a short time the volume lowers and then after ~10 sec, it increases again to normal.
It happens on all of my playlists. Somewhat like it has to cache something, and then it's ok.
I have also see this in Offline mode on a mobile phone.
This is anoying as hell.

Headphones or speakers? You flip flop halfway through. Apple has a replacement program with some of their headphones for this very problem.

Forget about any support from Apple on this one. I've been to the store as well as with phone support and nobody seems to have a clue about this...
Let me state upfront that your problem may very well be the physical volume rocker. In that case, you should take it to the Apple store and see if someone can clean/repair/replace the components that may be dirty/broken.
However, I suspect that you have a "Diabetic" iPhone and the volume problem is purely software-related. Since no-one at Apple will (or is able to) fix this, you have to just limp along with a more disciplined iPhone lifestyle to "manage" your condition.
From trial and error, I found the following helps reduce incidents of "volume chaos" although although the problem never really goes away...
#1) Limit Wifi use and keep your Wifi antenna OFF unless you have to use it. Definitely turn off Wifi overnight if you're charging the phone.
#2) Don't use your iPhone (Don't even think of touching it - smile) for at least 5-10 minutes after recharging. I usually charge it overnight and unplug as soon as I wake up. By the time I'm totally out of bed, it should be OK.
#3) Close all apps (especially music related apps) on a daily basis.
#4) Be ready to restart you iPhone more often (1-3 times/week). If you coordinate this (and #3) at bedtime, it won't suck as much.

My volume lowers automatically.

As soon as I startup my Macbook pro retina there is a automatic volume reduction. The volume becomes barely audible from the speakers. The output volume is shown to be at max. After a while the volume returns to the normal level, but only for a few seconds at which point it barely becomes audible again. Sometimes it just constantly fluctuates between normal and barely audible. I have tried restarting

I just tried that... no success.
It appears it is the mouse though - when I disconnect the mouses usb received it doesn't do it. I iniitally tied that to the keyboard (both are cordless on the same usb receiver - Logitech S550) but I suppose now I can say for sure it is the mouse. Anyone know why other then a defective mouse?

Since, obviously, you've hacked your phone to enable its use where you live, there is no way to properly diagnose your problem, as one of the downsides to hacking an iphone is the instability to the OS that can be introduced. Further, per the terms of use of this forum, there is no support for hacked phones. You're on your own.

Did you already try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comeback again?
If this does not boring back a working volume control, and to rule out a software issue, set it up as new device, explained here:

If still no luck, you'll have to get it checked by visiting an Authorized Apple Service Provider or Apple Store next to your place.

[Problem] Ringtone volume drops automatically

Hi all,
from 2-3 days I'm experiencing this bug/issue: ringtone volume drops automatically, randomly and without any reason. When it happens, I start a "battle" with iPhone: I increase (with side buttons) and it decrease ringtone volume!
I have already tried to restore and configure it as new one on iTunes, but the crazy thing is that this issue made is first appearance while I was setting language, at the beginning of initial settings!
I have an iPhone 4S 16GB updated with FW 5.1 and I'm becoming worried, because my first phone was replaced with this one for audio issue.

Volume increases automatically. Help please.

This problem occurs when I'm using my headphones to listen to music. The volume will automatically increase and it will also randomly stop the music. I just wanted to make sure this isn't a headphone related issue before replacing the headphones. Any help is appreciated.

With the amount of information you've provided it's impossible to offer a solution. We can't see your computer so we need to know the details of your problem and setup, i.e.:
what version of iPhoto are you using? A new iMac will have Yosemite. Confirm.
what system version are you running? Download iPhoto 6 from the App store. Did you?
what do you mean by "picture keeper"?
have you looked in the Applications folder for an iPhoto application?
is your iPhoto Library in your Pictures folder ?

Adobe Volume lowers itself in mixer

This happens when listening to a radio station stream, Pandora, and other sites as well. I will be listening at normal volume, and it will lower the volume of just the adobe flash player in the volume mixer. I have even seen it where i turn it back up, and it immediately goes right back down, as well as not even being near the computer and it lowers itself.
I have updated to the lastest version of flash player, and cleared the cache in firefox. The only thing that seems to help is to reboot my computer, and that seems to fix it for a few days.
I have noticed this on multiple computers as well, so i do not believe it is a problem with any installations.
also, in the volume mixer under adobe flash player, it shows 2 volume levels sometimes one is at the normal level, but when it adjusts itself, a grey out indicator appears at the normal volume, and the actual slider goes down to 1. I can click on the greyed out indicator to return to the normal/previous volume. None of the other volume sliders have this, and i cannot find a way to remove the "memory" slider/

My 1st gen iphone is up to the same antics. Pre 2.0 all was perfect. Then then update... During calls, if you adjust the volume for either the iphone earpiece, speaker phone, or bluetooth headset (I'm using the Plantronics voyager 520, which was purchased at the apple store), the ringer volume gets adjusted as well.
Just go into the sounds option under settings, make a call, and watch in awe as you adjust your call volume and ringer volume at the same time.
I've missed calls b/c the volume resets it self to a lower (random) setting. Now I must check after every call. The best part is if you push up on your volume button while at the home screen (the ringer volume pop up appears) and note that you have it on the highest setting, go ahead and check the sound option under settings. It will be at some random lower level. Oh my phone never did this on 1.4. I do hope the engineers are reading this and release a fix ASAP. The main purpose of the iPhone is to be a phone. Missing calls due to a low ringer volume is crazy.

Volume lowered after installing windows 8 pavilion g7

After installing windows 8 the volume level lowered, i tried going to the speakers and then Enhacment and check the loudness equilizer and the volume got up alittle but still lower than normal, How to get it to its normal level....?

I'm not sure what notebook you have, but you can try this:
Right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select 'Playback Devices'.
Left click the default device once to highlight it ( it's usually 'speakers & headphones' ) then click the Properties button.
Click the Enhancements tab and put a tick in the box next to 'Loudness Equalization'.
Click Apply to save the change and then click OK in all remaining windows.

Volume changes automatically in iChat

This is a new one for me...
I set the volume in the Sound preference pane to maximum over the internal mic when using iChat..
When I am talking to other people, I see the input volume automatically change when I talk.
It will go down to 90% and then when I talk again it will go down some more, and then more, and then down to 50% and seems to stay there.
However, at 50%, the other people can hardly hear me even though they have there output volume set up all the way...
When I quit iChat, the volume goes back up to where it was before opening up iChat so it appears that something in iChat is definitely doing this automatially.
I haven't seen this behavior before.
I trashed the 2 audio preferences in Library/Preferences/Audio and restarted but that didn't help.
Any suggestions on what preferences might be automatically changing the input sound level?

In previous versions of the OS on Laptops the Left hand speaker - where the Internal Mic is - has been cut in certain Apps such as iChat to stop Feedback.
This action sounds like it is related - albeit via a dynamic method.
What I have failed to find yet is which of the .plists that used to control the Audio in the same way it was done in at least Tiger and Leopard.
com.apple.systempreferences.plist gets altered if you change the Tab in System Preferences > Sound pane but also if the Volume only is changed (I used the Cover Flow view and highlighted the Modified column)
It takes a few moments fro the .plist to show a change.
I also looked at the .plist with Property List Editor (Part of the Developers Tools Install - Optional Installs on the Install Disk) where I can not see a specific Volume reference.
I did the same with the Hard Drive/Library/Preferences Folder but nothing showed a new modified time.
That would suggest that to potentially get the volume to reset that com.apple.systempreferences.plist would have to be deleted.
It would be best to restart the computer then.
All the Preferences in System Preferences would then have to be reset - Date a Time, Language and Text, Screen Saver, Mouse, Keyboard, Sharing + Network Settings and anything else you had changed.
This may be too destructive to try.

Need menu volume lowered relative to movie

I have a DVD project in which the feature itself has relatively low volume. In iMovie I boosted the level the max (150%). How can I raise it further? Do I have to extract it and then import it into an audio engineering program? If so, should I use QuickTime Pro or Peak? I also have Final Cut Pro 3
To lower the volume of the mp3s I use for menus, I'm wondering if I go back to iTunes and individually lower the volume in the get info options pane, will that lowering come through when I import the song into a menu of my project?
Do any other iTunes processes, like Sound Check, or the Sound Enhancer? If I adjust the starting and stopping point in a track using the get info > options panel fields will that effect how the song comes into my iDVD menu?

To lower the volume of the mp3s I use for menus
You have to open these in a sound editing porgam. iMovie will do in a pinch, but you have to add some video (A Ken Burns clip will do). Lower the volume of the MP3, and then Share>Quicktime>Expert Settings>Sound to AIFF. Use the new AIFF with lower volume in your menu.

Hello, I was wondering if there was a way to prevent my xbox music app volume from lowereing whenever im in a skype call. The music works fine on my desktop, but when I enter a skype call, the music lowers to where I can't hear it.

Music volumes changes automatic

While I am listening to my iphone either through headphones or through the 31 pin connector, the volume randomly will get quite and then will turn back up automatically. It will last about 2-3 seconds then will go for 10ish min and do it again then 15ish min and do it again and again and again... It seems to be random.

Sometimes, once you've figured it out, the answer to something is blindingly obvious.
All I need to do (once I've re-established my music folder on the external drive) is Advanced > Consolidate Library and those files in my internal drive will be moved to my music folder on my external drive retaining all the meta data.
I don't know why I didn't think of that before.
