Volume of iTunes store music too low

I have recently purchased several songs from the iTunes store, but when I try to play them on my iPod nano, the volume is too low. is there anything I can do about this?
thanks in advance.

Is it worth the $40?
That's not something anyone but you could answer. It should give you much more control over your gain settings, but value is in the eye of the beholder
Could I use all my instruments
at once
You couldn't record them to separate tracks, no. But anything you could plug into it could be "pre-mixed" and recorded to a single track (or using pan controls, mono instruments could be recorded to 2 tracks)
or use the features with garageband, like the
gain and stuff?
I'm not sure what features you're referring to.
And would it really increase the volume?
It should. Others in this forum use this exact mixer very successfully, though I do not have this one myself.

iTunes Store music tab not showing up

    FollowUp - Problem Solved.
Just in case anyone else was experiencing the same issues, I pinpointed it down to a corrupted iTunes preference file - com.apple.iTunes.plist.
I created a new user account, lauched iTunes and it worked fine, no black drop down window appearing, so I went back into my account and deleted this and relaunched iTunes and the drop down window showed all the search results again, not the black window as seen in my example image.
    Hope this helps others!

  • Can I use vouchers to purchase iTunes Store music in another country?

Someone suggested that I can buy iTunes Store vouchers from eBay and then click "REDEEM" on iTunes Store to buy music EVEN IF I live in a country which does not have iTunes Store. But Apple is trying to make life really difficult for us. In the Q&A section of the iTunes website, Apple says:
"Gift certificates and gift cards purchased on the iTunes Store are valid for use only in the country in which they were purchased. Gift certificates purchased in the United States may only be redeemed by residents of the United States."
Not only that, those who have access to iTunes Store are making unreasonable profits from selling those vouchers. A US$15 iTunes Store voucher is sold for $18.
Can someone advise what I should do?

As I understand Apple's position - the update to the iPT is considered a major update - much like going from OSX 10.4 to 10.5 - hence the decision to require payment. I also understand that the iPT will work without the update - hence the device is still usable.
I too am not a lawyer. To purchase via the legal outlets is the right thing to do and if I were a musician I would thank you for doing the right thing.
To purchase a card via e-bay and complaining that there was a mark up - the mark up was not from Apple - it is from the person that is selling the card on e-bay. It may not be a violation of copyright - but it is possibly a violation of distribution rights.
This discussion has been hashed out here in the forums many times so I will let you do a search if you want to know more about why Apple has to have different stores for different countries. If it were up to me the one-size-fits-all model would be my preference.

  • Creating playlists from iTunes Store music items

When browsing for music in the iTunes Store, I like to make playlists of songs that I'm interested in so I can access them later quickly and easily. In previous versions of iTunes, when creating a playlist by selecting and dragging items from the Store, the default name of that playlist would be either a combination Artist - Album like "Daft Punk - Human After All" or if there are various artists just the album name "Human After All".
Right now, in iTunes 8 (iTunes 8.0.2.20), dragging items from the Store to the source list results in a web address in the form of "http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore..." being the default name.
I'm pretty sure this is a bug in the newer versions of iTunes as the old behavior resulted in a useful playlist name instead of a string of internet address gibberish, which is useless and not very elegant.
Is anybody else experiencing this problem? I filed this as a bug at http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html , but maybe someone with a ADC membership can file a real bug report that probably gets looked at and maybe fixed.

Thank you, Katrina, but I really don't care for a "Wish List" playlist.
You can understand how my way of doing things would be useful to me (and hopefully some other people too).
By the way, if iTunes did it the right way before, why should it handle playlist names wrongly now?
In the course of improving their product Apple broke something. So the only sane thing for them to do is fix it or at least show me how to fix it temporarily until it's fixed in a later version.

  • Frustrated with iTunes Store music file quality.

    Dear Apple iTunes Store supervisors,
Ive decided I will no longer buy music from itunes until you start to release music in a better quality, uncompressed, lossless-format and higher bitrate and sample depth.  The list of albums i want to buy grows, and itunes store is not making my money because it fails to provide what this consumer, and many others wants. I know you can do better, so im holding out for it.
Please bring us uncompressed DVD quality (or better) sound files. Atleast an ALAC 24bit 48khz download option. We are paying you for the music.
Our computers support it. iTunes supports it. The outputs on our computers support up to 24/96000! Apple TV supports 48khz! Everything does (except some dated items like airport express)! So If almost all the hardware can do it, why cant we use the capabilities of our apple equipment with apple provided content? Give us 24bit/48khz or better files to buy!
Many agree. itunes store AAC's sound compromised compared to the music ive bought from B&W Society of Sound or HD tracks.
These distributors offer a qualty product and why shouldnt you too?? No professional would be satisfyed with the current download quality you sell. No discriminating consumer either. We're an educated country with standards and we have a larger market place than ever before. I know im not alone here... The public has clamoured for better sound quality for decades. But why does this always get compromised?  Why sell unsatisfying music files that arent even to the standards of CD quality?
If readers want a demonstration of how sample rate effects sound, Play some music in iTunes, listen through the best system or headphones you have and go into your "Audio Midi Setup." Switch the output format to 8000hz .. notice how terrible the compressed sound is? Now, step by step increase the format to 16000, 32000, and up... you'll notice a point where the sound stops getting better to the ears. Thats where the limitations of either the file, or the hardware, or hearing are... but not the limitations of the hardware or its original recording! To fully display the depth and richness of the music, we need a file format that just exceeds our hearing like 24bit/48khz because anything less is HEARD as less.
Once we can identify that compressed absense of quality and have experienced what is possible, then why should we be satisfied with less?
Apple. Please improve the file quality availability by aquiring and providing higher quality music from your partnered record lables. Because we know they are recorded and mastered at MUCH higher quality, and when we buy the music thats what we want. That quality. You are capable of better, so please stop letting excuses get in the way. Make it happen. Market it as "Better than CD quality Download" and your sales will improve, wont they!
There's value to offering the option of a better file! Hard drives are affordable. Apple computers offer us tonnes of space.
I dont care if a cd is half a Gig, or a gig of data if it means Im getting the recording in its fullest quality.
Make it happen for us!! Its 2013.

I also wish iTunes would offer higher quality. However, I think the reason they don't is due to mobile devices and iCloud. In their attempt to give the majority average consumer the best user experience, they strip back features the minority prosumers would want. They developed a file type that sounds acceptable to most to maximize battery life, minimize hard drive space, and increase transfer speed on mobile devices. Apples goal is to give you portable music, and that is just what it is... Portable.
That said, I also do not buy from the iTunes Store either. As a music creator and DJ, I also buy higher quality files from other sources.

  • ITunes store print too small and light

Does anyone else with that it were possible to enlarge iTunes store with a two-finger swipe?  Or at the least, make the type bigger and darker.  Thanks for your consideration.

If you cannot see any content on pages you printed or in print preview, the cause might be margins which are set too high.
#In order to check the margins, we need to go to ''File'' > ''Page Setup''.
#Once this is done, switch to the ''Margins & Header/Footer'' tab.
#Check what's set there under ''Margins''.
The following are the default values for ''Margins'':
    '''Right''': 12.7
    '''Top''': 12.7
    '''Left''': 12.7
    '''Bottom''': 12.7
Check these values accordingly and change them if necessary.

  • Volume of Line-in Audio Too Low

This question could apply to any version of Garageband, but I'm using this one.
The problem is I have many different things connected through my line-in, such as an electronic drum kit, a microphone, an electric guitar, and a synthesizer. When I record in garageband, the volume is always too low. No matter how loud I drum, or strum, or sing, or play. Even with the overdrive its too soft.
I've adjusted everything. In system preferences I raised the line-in volume to the max. In garageband the track, and master track are on the max. On the instruments w/ volume control, I've already put those on maximum volume.
    What else can I do?

    Is it worth the $40?

  • ITunes Store Window too wide

The iTunes window is too wide, and the columns too far apart. When I want to purchase a tune, I can't see the BUY icon from the song list, and if I move the screen to the right, I can't see which song I'm purchasing. I have to keep moving the screen back and forth to read an entire row in the iTunes store. This is going to drive me crazy...there must be a solution for this.

There is actually a setting for this which I found and fixed. Now, I have the perfect screen all the time!

    Hello, amalgro,
Thank you for the question.  The article below should help you with this issue.
Adjust volume for individual items in iTunes

Also, if this doesn't resolve the issue.  See the article below to delete and download the item again free of charge via the purchased section in iTunes.  This can only be done for purchased content, not rented.

  • The sound volume in the videoproject is too low

    Hallo,
In Adobe Premiere Elements I3 made several projects. I used the tool Normalisation for the audio in a clip. Untill now this was functioning well. But at the present time I have a problem. Likely I have made a mistake with one of the settings. But I don't know which mistake.
After the Normalisation of the sound in the clip the graphic rendition in the picture in the track Comment is as it should be.
But the real sound is now too low. In the sound mixer I can see that the level of the sound doesn't come higher than -12 where it should actually be 0.
I must have changed an overall setting somewhere with the result that the sound actually is too low.
My question is: how can I restore the old situation where the sound volume was correct?
    Thank you in advance.

My first impression of what you describe is this...
    1. If you were making audio adjustments with Clip Gain dialog, what happens if you bring up
the Clip Gain dialog and change the value there from -12 to 0.0 dB for the audio clips whose values
have gone from 0 to -12?
    More later.

  • Putting iTunes store music onto mp3 players

I am having difficulty putting music I have purchased from the iTunes store on to my mp3 player as it is in m4p format - i have tried converting it using the option in 'Advanced' but it comes up with a warning saying it can't be converted as it is protected.
    Is there anyway round it?

What you can do with your store purchases is burn them to an audio CD. That audio CD can be used in the same manner that any CD you would purchase at your local store.

  • Quality of iTunes Store music. Can I get cd-quality?

I've bought a few albums recently, and I gotta say, the quality I'm getting on playback is not that great. I can certainly get a better quality if I buy the cd and rip it. So, what's the point really? You pay darn near full price, have the convenience of not buying the cd, but don't get the quality?
Am I missing a setting somewhere or something that gives me cd-quality? I don't care how long it takes to download really.
Is it just the one setting?

Well, in fairness, the quality of tracks at 128kbps is still better than the quality of most 45 RPM singles we bought back in the day.
But I agree; I want to see an increase in quality over CDs, not a reduction, but that's what the record companies seem to want to allow, and many people will put up with it. I'll put up with it for a single that I want where I don't want the rest of the album, but I don't buy full albums from the iTunes Store just for that reason, the lower quality. I'm not so geared to immediate gratification that I can't wait until I can pick up or order the CD. Lots of people won't wait, though.
Given the response of several record company exec's to Steve Jobs' letter re. copy protection, I don't hold out much hope that the record companies will ever wise up until such time as they've been completely bypassed. That could easily happen as download distribution becomes more and more common; artists may well start to wonder why they need a record company at all. But for now, it seems, we're stuck between purchasing individual tracks at lower quality or full CDs (containing tracks we have no interest in) for the better sound.
    Regards.

  • ITunes Store music not downloading once purchased

I purchased some music on the iTunes Store on my iPhone and it will not let me download the music.
    Please help!

Sorry but no, there isn't. By demand of the content owners, you can use only the iTunes Store of your country of residence.
Who decides which artists get included in the different itunes stores?
Whoever holds the distribution rights to that artist/music for a given country.
    Regards.

  • How do I put non-iTunes store music onto my iPhone without screwing it up?

I backup to iCloud and haven't synced my iPhone since I've gotten a new computer. I have some music that is in my iTunes that i did not get from the iTunes store that I would like to put on my iPhone. When i try to make any changes at all, it says The iPhone is synced with another iTunes library. Do you want to erase this iPhone and sync with this iTunes library? I think this is because of my computer switch, but that's all fine and good. I just don't wanna erase something irritrievable or screw up my iPhone in any way, I'm so confused and lost (and afraid to try anything rash, from past iPhone screw ups). Any help is greatly appreciated.

If you still have your old computer, copy the entire iTunes folder from your old computer to your new one using one of the methods outlined here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527.  (Be sure to copy the entire folder, not just the media folder.)
If you don't, follow this guide: Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive.  (If you're using iTunes 11, first go to View>Show Sidebar in order to follow this guide.  Also, Transfer Purchases in step 5 is now in File>Devices.)
