Volume Panel Missing in System Bar

I had dl and installed the following driver/application on my fresh installed Windows XP and notice that the volume panel is missing from the system bar.
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi series driver 2.8.003
Creative Console Launcher 2.6.09
Had search thru the forum and volpanel.exe in not included in the above mentioned installation package. Please advise a solution. Thank!

& I had solved the problem by installing Creative Console Launcher 2.60.29 and follow by Creative Console Launcher 2.6.09
It seem like the volume panel is not included in the latest installation package.

    On the volume panel for my new XFI Extreme gamer control panel I do not see two things that are actually shown on the beack of the box. There is a decoder for DTS and Dolby Digital shown on the panel in the pic, but they don't exist on my version. What happened to them? Is this why i cannot, with my new card, get digital out of my Logitech Z-680's? I have my coax to mini plug installed properly and all the S-PDIF settings right on my DVD player.

    The newer soundcards (Including : Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer Fatalty Pro Series SB046A, Sound Blaster X-Fi Platinum Fatalty Champion Series SB046A, Sound Blaster X-Fi Elite Pro SB055A) no longer has the DTS and Dolby Digital Hardware decoding. Therefore you will not see these options. Just through a software level, such as the included free download of the software : Cyberlink PowerDVD Version 6 OEM DTS/Dolby Digital.
    If you have the Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer SB073A, this too includes a?free download of the software : Cyberlink PowerDVD Version 6 OEM DTS/Dolby Digital.
    Also, the Cyberlink PowerDVD Version 6 OEM DTS/Dolby Digital will only work in Windows XP SP2.

  • Desktop/Screen Saver panel missing in System Preferences

    Hello,
    I recently had to have my hard drive changed and I reloaded OSX 10.6.8 back on it along with the applications DVD.  Now when I go to the system preferences, the DESKTOP/SCREEN SAVER panel is no longer listed.  I am very new to my Imac and tried to reinstall the applications disk.  Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this problem so I can change the desktop pictures?  Thanks

    Open System Preferences and go to View menu (on the menu bar). You should see Desktop & Screen Saver listed.
    If you see it, go to View menu > Customize, and mark "Desktop & Screen Saver".
    If you do not see it, insert the Snow Leopard DVD, hold the C key while your computer is starting up and reinstall Mac OS X

  • Enable Creative Volume Panel in System T

    Hello all,?Advanced computer/server engineer here, but I can't seem to overcome the simple task of getting the system tray icon for creative up and running...never had this problem before but for some reason I can't figure it out. I have a Sound Blaster X-Fi Platinum with CD install and newest drivers from creatives website. Anyone have any ideas?Regards,Malhovic

    During the installation, did you do a custom install and check the box to add the ?"Creative Volume Panel" app in the setup? If not add the app in the Control Panel/Add and Remove/Sound Blaster X-Fi , Add the "Creative Volume Panel" app there. Or maybe do a repair of the Sound Blaster X-Fi installation, this sometimes fixes the problem.

  • Vista SP1 and Volume Panel, X-Fi

    System is Vista Business SP x86 with Soundblaster X-FI Extreme Music. Tray Icon works, but the Volume Panel doesn't open. It is a new clean install.

    Re: Volume Panel is missing with newest X-Fi driver and Vista SP< To : andyr2005
    Please READ carefully!
    Like I've said in my post, The download file "Creative Console Launcher 2.60.29" is the ONLY update that has the Volume Panel software.
    2.60.35A and 2.6.09 does NOT!, I known what for a long time.
    Thus, downloading and extract the file "Creative Console Launcher 2.60.29" to get only the Volume Panel software and install.
    Then, download and Install the latest "Creative Console Launcher 2.6.09" software.
    I've done this many many MANY times and I know what I'm doing and I'm saving time, not wasting time.
    Wasting time is installing all three updates, instead of just the Volume Panel software and the "Creative Console Launcher 2.6.09" update.

  • HELP! How can i restore/recover files from Bootcamp with Boot Failure - Missing operating system error?

    Hi,
    I am having a few problems with bootcamp on my imac. When i tried to move the bootcamp partition on windows 7 into free space, it crashed and turned off. Ever since i have had the error 'Missing operating system' and it fails to boot. I have some very important files on the bootcamp partition. Is it possible to recover these files or even to restore the bootcamp partition to it's original state? I do not have a backup of my bootcamp partition. Another problem i have is that ever since i tried to expand my macintosh HD partition into free space, when i hold alt while booting up (to choose which partition to boot like i normally do), the bootcamp partition has stopped appearing. This means that i cannot even boot the windows 7 bootcamp partition anymore!
    So basically here are my 2 questions:
    How can i restore/recover files from Bootcamp with Boot Failure - Missing operating system error?
    How can i make the Bootcamp partition appear in Startup Disk and when i hold the option key while starting up my computer to allow me to boot windows 7?
    Any solutions are very much apreciated!
    Thanks!
    I know that bootcamp (disk0s4) hasn't been fully deleted since it appears in disk utility (i cant do anything to it though)
    And here is the error i see when i try to launch bootcamp (back when i was actually able to boot up bootcamp to the error screen)

    WinClone 3 is OS X and saves Windows image it makes for restore - that should work but you will have to try and you would need to make a new image unless it also works with a native Windows system restore image. It is now supported and has come a long way.
    http://www.twocanoes.com/
    Paragon Clone OS works and does disk-to-disk clone just like CCC you end up with two bootable drives. But does not work with your setup. It would let you clone and move your Windows install to an SSD or another disk drive though and be bootable.
    During its clone process it checks for errors which is very helpful and lets you know - something CCC and others should adopt more of.

    I wish for our/my sake you had re-read and rewritten the long 'story' and broken it into a brief list of facts we needed.
    OS X
    Windows
    Backup (though external is much safer) and you want bootable OS X clones as well as TimeMachine

    https://support.apple.com/kb/HT1553
    There are a number of things to do like chkdsk and others as well as Windows DVD to do automatic system repairs and find out why.
    AppleHFS - the abilty to mount and read HFS volumes can be notorious.
    I would rearrange and redo your storage setup and how you use the 4-5 internal hard drive bays.

    I wanted to have the SSDs in RAID0 with Win7 and the games on it, then a volume on the 2TB that the RAID backs up to, with the remaining 1.5TB just free storage space in another volume.  I couldn't get raid past Win7's Where Do You Want To Install screen during installation, so I ended up installing the OS on just one SSD.  I figured I'd backup the functioning OS to the 2TB then rebuild the RAID array and copy the OS back onto it.
    The system had been up an running for a full day, being updated left and right nonstop, several big games put in, etc etc, everything was running fine until I decided to run MSI Live Update and started pumping in updates.  Constant errors as I went along, but generally it'd just skip to the next installation attempt.  When it got down to updating the BIOS and did it's DOS injection thing, it for forcefully shut down the PC, restarted, did Post, flashed the BIOS wallpaper, restarted again, Posted, no BIOS wallpaper, just endless "Missing Operating System".  Walked away, went to bed, back up and at it for a few minutes (Will be back tonight for however long it takes to get it fixed).  I switched the BIOS switch over, no dice.  Feels like it's a BIOS "OS" that's gone, and that a BIOS reset/flash is in order or something, but I've never done these things.
    Thanks in advance for any rendered assistance that leads to resolution.

    The SSDs are definitely hooked up where they're supposed to go; the motherboard had a little sticker n' everything for where the two SSD dedicated SATA 6.0gbps ports were :P  AND my case has 2 specific slots for SSDs which don't use the hotswap electronics PCB passthrough like the other 4 bays, which is where the 2T is installed.  I was going to take the 2TB out and hook it up normally and see if that changed the speeds, but I'm leaning towards wishful thinking.  Did I mention I went and made several volumes with different file cluster sizes to test and see if that was the issue?  Alas, all were borked.  It still confuses me though because every once n' awhile it'd do massive burst speeds the way it's supposed to.
    As far as I can recall I'm using up to date BIOS, the last one or two.  One BIOS switch is set for the last BIOS, the other switch is a step back devoid of the Windows 8 stuff.  I believe I have all the drivers up to date as well.  Intel 335's are literally brand new, mine hadn't been more than 3 weeks old off the production line when I received them; IE, they should pretty much have the latest firmware on them which spares me the risk of destroying something precious
    I MIGHT have a SATA external enclosure around here somewhere, if so, the 2TB could go in that for additional testing until I figure out where it's sustaining speeds of 2-10MB vs 100-150MB/second.
    Meanwhile, the good news is that the system has been fully operational and hella stable.  I hadn't slept in almost 3 days, playing and installing stuff nonstop.  The system continues to run cooler (32c@stock CPU speed) as the thermal paste sets in, the knocking sound of the fan in the PSU has gone away upon me reawakening a bit ago, and amazingly, this massive system (with EIGHT fans) draws only 60-65 watts while desktopping.  That's just astounding

    Why is the Insert Panel Missing from Dw CS6 Build 12 v 5861?

    If Nancy's advice doesn't make it pop up as a window, you may have it set as a tool bar, in which case, hitting Ctrl+F2 will make the tool bar appear/disappear.
    To turn it back into a floating panel, click and drag the dashed line on the far left of the Insert tool bar and pull it away from the top. You can leave it as free floating or drag it to another edge until it highlights the edge and drop it to dock it to whichever side of the screen you prefer.

  • Missing file system after installing in SSD

    Missing file system after installing in SSD MacBook
    Hi All
    I recently installed a SSD drive in my Macbook, I used the Disk Utility to clone the old HDD.
    When i reboot the machine with the new disk I get the image of a folder with question mark.
    If i reboot the machine again and hold the alt key at the chime I can see two disks.
    One called SSD and another called Recovery.
    if i choose the SSD the OS starts as normal and if i choose the recovery option and check the disk with disk utility
    it tells me that everything is fine.
    Any ideas how i can make the machine boot as it should without having to hold down the alt key a start up??

    Hi i tried this and just got the big symbol of doom at start up.
    However, a little terminal witchcraft did the trick!
    sudo bless -mount /Volumes/"Macintosh HD" -setBoot

  • Problem with mode switching/Volume Panel in multi-user environment?

    As above - using Windows 7 64-bit with an X-Fi Titanium Fatalty card.
    All works well as long as I'm the only person logged in, but if my wife logs into the computer (using Windows 7's built-in multi-user mode...'fast user switching', which is enabled by default), and then I log back in...well, the volume panel app doesn't seem to work. In fact, even using the control panel app, I can't regain control of the soundcard enough to switch modes.
    Logging her off doesn't resolve the issue, so it seems like something about her logging on (another user logging in, two volpanlu.exe running, something) is causing my instance to go haywire. [FWIW, I'm a 'standard' user on the PC, and her login is a 'limited' user]
    Note that 'killing' the task volpanlu.exe in task managed, then going to the Windows services control panel and stopping and re-starting the 'Windows Audio' service, and finally re-launching volpanlu.exe from the start menu DOES always work to resolve the problem (regardless of if she's logged in or not...this always fixes it).
    Still, that's a kinda annoyingly large set of steps to always have to go through whenever I want to change audio mode after she's logged in.
    Is there any way to fix this? Any setting I could be missing to optimize the X-Fi control panel for multi-user environments? Any of the X-Fi mod dri've packs handle fast user switching better? Any other ideas?

    GA little bit more tinkering around this, and I have some more information:
    - Once I "seize control" (the kill of volpanlu, restart 'Windows Audio' service, re-launch volpanlu), if my wife logs back in, now *she* can't change the audio mode

  • Camera Icon Missing. Search says Volume  is missing.

    Luckily, I've been problem free for quite a while, so hope I'm in the right discussion group. (Please re-direct me if I'm not.)
    My Minolta Dimage XI Camera (now owned by Sony) requires ejecting of the camera icon before shutting the camera. My iMac was working fine yesterday, but must have had too much going on simultaneously, because it froze and I had it restart in the middle of a photo project. Lost all the unsaved images, but was able to recapture them;actually opened automatically when I went to 'Open File.") But when I tried to turn off the camera in order to retake some shots in another room, the camera icon was missing. Manual says turning it off without ejecting can damage the camera, but sometimes a girl's gotta' do what she's gotta' do, and in the past I've ignored that instruction and been lucky. But also know I need to correct the problem.
    After spending 2 hours online unsuccessfully with a Minolta rep in Manilla, he finally advised me to contact Apple with the following info: (1) I'm able to acccess existing photos in the camera via Photoshop, so connection between camera and iMac is OK and computer recognizes the photos. (2) Search for "Minolta" led to what looked like the icon, but clicking on it reported that it was an alias and "volume" as missing. (3) Have already manually searched every folder but there's no sign of the either the volume or the icon. (4) With help of Minolta technician tried to reset the camera settings, but they were OK and did not need resetting.(5) Reinitializing did to restore preferences did not help either.
    The only thing I have not tried yet (because most of the day was spent looking for the icon) was Disk First Aid. If there's any chance it can restore a missing "volume" I will try it. Any other suggestions or advice will be much appreciated. I'd hate to lose the camera or destroy all the photos on it if I can avoid it. Thanks in advance for any ideas.

    You may have to go through the process of re-installing
    the camera's software into the computer and hope the
    files you have moved, or ones that have gone missing,
    will return and work later on if the camera software gets
    a fresh install into the system.
    You have to "unmount" the equivalent of a disk from the
    computer's desktop, prior to unplugging the physical item;
    or there could be file damages to the data within it. By not
    doing so, the files have been damaged. You can unmount
    a disk icon or memory card icon by Eject, or drag/drop/Trash.
    Same thing if you have an external hard disk drive attached.
    {One of my cameras is a Nikon DSLR and I can remove
    the card if desired and use a card reader, but usually I
    don't do that; and instead just turn on the camera. The
    other camera I have is a Panasonic Lumix (early FZ-1)
    & while I also have a card reader for that, I don't use it.
    Since the batteries (three per camera) need cycling and
    recharging at some point anyway, I seldom use a reader.}
    Usually, if the computer is accidentally turned off and a
    peripheral item such as a camera or external hard disk
    drive is left attached but not unmounted, the process of
    just turning back on the computer (and do NOT unplug
    the peripheral item) will let the Mac find that item again
    and it will work correctly, when the Mac reboots. And a
    sleeping Mac should not matter, just do not unplug the
    camera connections while it is asleep; it should be seen
    again normally when the computer awakens.
    Some cameras with a +wireless connection+ to a computer
    would lose the connection when either the camera or
    computer were turned off without un-mounting the icon
    or the representative file of the camera from the desktop.
    Using Eject, or drag/drop icon on to Trash, is the path.
    You may not have to un-install the existing camera software
    from the computer in order to re-install the same items again;
    in some cases, since the OS X may have a few of the same
    series drivers already installed, (plug n play works fine for me)
    you'd only defeat the existing compatibility if one removed that.
    I'm not sure how you could restore the camera's representative
    icon, but if the software in the camera were damaged where it
    is stored (not in the camera memory card you could remove)
    the item may be stored in the camera's Firmware. It may be
    possible to restore the camera's firmware, if that is the case.
    This is an item the manufacturer or their representative may be
    able to answer questions about: If the missing icon is something
    that could be due to damaged firmware, or not. And if so, how to
    restore it. Even a good camera shop (repair shop) may have a
    few answers, especially if they happen to also use Mac computers.
    Anyway, the link to get a free image restore utility is still a good
    thing. Even if you don't need it to resolve this issue, today. It is
    also capable of restoring some other data files, btw.
    The damaged file in software could be in the installed camera
    drivers in the computer, and there may also be some damage
    or corrupted files in the camera itself. Whether or not those are
    in the camera's memory card or on some ROM chip inside the
    camera (such as Firmware would likely be) is another matter.
    If you have a CD for the camera and it has Mac OS X driver
    software for the camera on it, you could try re-installing it.
    Or, you could look to the manufacturer's web site for newer
    camera driver software and download that; then install it.
    Be sure it does not supersede your Mac's OS requirement.
    A 'most new driver' would be for Leopard or Snow Leopard;
    and your old Tiger probably would be unhappy with that.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • System Bar (or status bar) Hindering Drop and Drag

    I built an air app in flash pro. I have pots (movieclips) that the user can drag to burners on a stovetop. The pots are the only targets and if you drag a pot anywhere else, they should snap to the nearest burner.
    But draging a movieclip over the sytem bar in iOS or any version of android, mouse_up or touch_end mouse events are not sent. So the object just hovers there. any ideas anybody to fix this issue?

    thanks for responding. sorry i missed seeing your response till now. i missed the email to notify me somehow.
    i did assign the touch_end to the stage.
    //http://help.adobe.com/en_US/as3/dev/WS1ca064e08d7aa93023c59dfc1257b16a3d6-7ffe.html
    function fingerLeave(e:TouchEvent) :void {
                   if (e.isPrimaryTouchPoint == false)
                        return;
                   pot.stopDrag();
                   if (e.stageX <= 0){
                      //send pot to closest burner nearest this part of the stage
                   } else if (e.stageX >= stage.stageWidth){
                             //send pot to closest burner nearest this part of the stage}
    this had no effect for me when the pot is dragged over the system bar. It would just get stuck there.

  • Volume panel and subwoofer gain

    hello,
    last week i had install windows 7 (i had xp before) my sound card is XFI audio and i notice that since i install windwos 7 the subwoofer is not working , i remember that in windwos xp i had volume panel and there was option about subwoofer gain .
    but when i install console luncher under win7 i get crackle/disturbance but without the console luncher everithing is ok.
    so i am asking if there is any other option to enable subwoofer gain under win7 witout install console luncher?

    are you using 5, speaker system ? i think you are not . because if you are trying this on 2. sound system , sub woofer output is not working . sub woofer output is working only on 5, or more . with that option sub woofer output is start to work .
    and which x-fi product you are using ? on console launcher there is option for extra bass output . but as i said if you using only 2. sound system (i mean only left and right speaker) you will not any sound from your sub woofer (of course if you connect ?your sub woofer to sound card directly ?)

  • Gvolicon - a lightweight volume icon in your system tray

    Hello,
    Some days ago whilst on vacation, I whipped up this lightweight and very simple volume icon. As some of you might have seen in my previous topic, this project is based on Fogobogo's gtk-vol and as such most of the features are the same:
    Easily change volume levels by scrolling on the icon
    Easily mute and restore the volume by clicking on the icon
    No right-click menu
    Also see Gvolicon's help output:
    -v, --version Display version and exit
    -d, --device Device to use
    -m, --mixer Mixer to use
    -u, --update-interval Set update interval in seconds
    -s, --volume-step Set volume step to increase or decrease the volume with
    -i, --symbolic-icons Use symbolic icons
    You can get Gvolicon in the AUR or you can get the code directly from GitHub.

    Did you somehow uncheck the "Load volume Icon At Startup" in controls?Having this checked the Creative Volume Panel will always startup in the system tray. Or, Did you try executing the program in the desktop program group "Creative>Sound Blaster X-Fi>Creative Volume Panel" If all these things don't work, try to do a repair in the "Control Panel>Programs and Features>Sound Blaster X-Fi"

  • Bootcamp Windows 7 - Missing Operating System

    I had a MacBookPro with Snow Leopard and Bootcamp with Windows 7 all working well. In order to blow some more life into MBP I replaced my DVD drive with  a SSD. Reinstalled Snow Leopard. And then when I get a hold of a Windows 7 iso image decided to move Windows to SSD. I partioned the drive using Disk Utility. And installed Windows 7 using a USB Stick and rEFIt.
    At the end of the process I was able to boot into the new Windows 7. Later I decided to get rid of the old boocamp partition and notoced that it was not bootable. I did not care about it and went ahead and deleted the bootcamp partition using Bootcamp Assistant.
    However this process rendered the new installation unbootable, So I went ahead and tried a few installations by partioning with bootcamp assistant and disk utility. However no matter what i tried I am getting the black screen "Missing Opeating system" message. It boots fine with Parallels.
    My guess is previously the boot information was on the first bootcamp partition and somehow it was pointing to the second partition.
    In the meanwhile rEFIt displays 2 macOS volumes (correct) 1 unknown volume(no idea) 1 Windows Volume (correct) for the internal disks and two windows volumes for my USB installer volume. So I am a bit confused about the extra internal unknown and external windows volumes. So I am bit confused about that too.
    Can anyone direct me  to fix my bootcamp volume?
