Volume Rocker, seems a bit depressed-in at the top

I was looking at my volume rocker and noticed it seems like it was more depressed in than that button portion of the rocker and the bottom portion makes a bit more of louder click where the top barely does and sometimes not at all.
curious if this is significant to have checked out.
i have only had two cases with this iPad. Apple supplied case and the Incase folio (which the incase offered ample room for the volume rocker so i dont think it was stuck on the incase).
thanks

yeah, I just wasnt sure if overtime it lose traction on adjusting the volume.
I'm not going to waste their time if its a non-issue just wasnt sure if it seemed like something like a depressed button would have a negative effect overtime.

Just like in the title of this discussion the file will not open. Any suggestions? That would be grrreat.

    Hi,
The D810 requires Camera Raw 8.6 or later - the latest version that is compatible with Photoshop Elements 12 is Camera Raw 8.5 as far as I can see.
You need to either buy a new version of Photoshop Elements or use the free Adobe DNG converter.

  • Feature Request: use volume rocker for brightness

I find myself wishing I could adjust the screen brightness quickly using the rocker switch currently dedicated to volume. I seldom have need to adjust the volume, and if I did, it would also be helpful is that function could just be part of the open app, leaving the rocker switch to quickly adjust to changing light settings. (the auto brightness basically seems to have two settings: regular and slightly dimmer than regular)

Welcome to the forums, Tyrade. One of the first things to know is that we're all users here, just like yourself. While you may have a well-thought out feature request, posting it here goes nowhere.

my mac is running slow, the spinning beach ball constantly appears. it seems that when i am in the apple store with fast wifi its a bit better. genius at the apple store checked the hard drive, it's all fine. what can it be? can it be a software issue with the wifi?
also i noted that it has only been doing this since quite recently, before it was fine
    please help!

First, back up all data immediately, as your boot drive might be failing.
    Step 1
This diagnostic procedure will query the log for messages that may indicate a system issue. It changes nothing, and therefore will not, in itself, solve your problem.
If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    syslog -k Sender kernel -k Message CReq 'GPU |hfs: Ru|I/O e|find tok|n Cause: -|NVDA\(|timed? ?o' | tail | open -ef
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, you may have to press the return key.
The command may take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear.
A TextEdit window will open with the output of the command. Normally the command will produce no output, and the window will be empty. If the TextEdit window (not the Terminal window) has anything in it, stop here and post it — the text, please, not a screenshot. The title of the TextEdit window doesn't matter, and you don't need to post that.
    Step 2
There are a few other possible causes of generalized slow performance that you can rule out easily.
Disconnect all non-essential wired peripherals and remove aftermarket expansion cards, if any.
    Reset the System Management Controller.
Run Software Update. If there's a firmware update, install it.
If you're booting from an aftermarket SSD, see whether there's a firmware update for it.
If you have a portable computer, check the cycle count of the battery. It may be due for replacement.
If you have many image or video files on the Desktop with preview icons, move them to another folder.
If applicable, uncheck all boxes in the iCloud preference pane. See whether there's any change.
Check your keychains in Keychain Access for excessively duplicated items.
Boot into Recovery mode, launch Disk Utility, and run Repair Disk.
If you have a MacBook Pro with dual graphics, disable automatic graphics switching in the Energy Saverpreference pane for better performance at the cost of shorter battery life.
    Step 3
When you notice the problem, launch the Activity Monitor application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Activity Monitor in the icon grid.
Select the CPU tab of the Activity Monitor window.
Select All Processes from the View menu or the menu in the toolbar, if not already selected.
Click the heading of the % CPU column in the process table to sort the entries by CPU usage. You may have to click it twice to get the highest value at the top. What is it, and what is the process? Also post the values for User, System, and Idle at the bottom of the window.
Select the Memory tab. What value is shown in the bottom part of the window for Swap used?
Next, select the Disk tab. Post the approximate values shown for Reads in/sec and Writes out/sec (not Reads in andWrites out.)
    Step 4
If you have more than one user account, you must be logged in as an administrator to carry out this step.
Launch the Console application in the same way you launched Activity Monitor. Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
Select the 50 or so most recent entries in the log. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combinationcommand-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V). You're looking for entries at the end of the log, not at the beginning.
When posting a log extract, be selective. Don't post more than is requested.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some personal information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting. That should be easy to do if your extract is not too long.

  • Camera Unlock Button and Volume Rocker Unresponsiv...

I have experienced multiple issues with the Lumia 900 Camera Button and Volume Rocker.
The Camera button should unlock the phone when held down but is often unresponsive even after the update. If you can't unlock the phone from the camera button it pretty much defeats the purpose of having a dedicated camera button. I made sure that the "Prevent Accidental Camera Unlock" feature was turned off and still had issues.
The volume rocker is also often unresponsive when the phone is locked. This causes the user to have to unlock the phone to adjust the volume while listening to music or podcasts which is very annoying.
Nokia, please fix these bugs and end the Smartphone Beta Test.

I'm having the exact same issue. I have also confirmed that the demo units on display at the ATT stores suffer from this problem as well. In addition the ATT rep helping me could also reproduce this intermittent problem with her camera button.
Hopefully this gets addressed. My Samsung Focus was very reliable in this regard.

  • External volume rocker/siri button for iphone?

does one of these exist? i basically already have headphones that i use and love, and ive just upgraded to iphone5 from iphone 4 so just got my hands on siri and found im using him a lot. i tried apples new headphones (which are a huge improvement on the previous ones which sounded herrendous) and they were great, just not as comfortable as my personal in ear headphones.
on my old nokia i had a jack extension cable that i could plug into the phone that had volume rocker and track skip, kinda like what is built into apples headphones, except it had a headphone jack on it so you could plug whatever headphones you wanted to into it and still have the ability to skip the track without getting your phone out, etc. was wondering if there was a product similar but for iphone? i still have that nokia switch, despite not having any nokia devices anymore, but ive not tried it in my iphone yet. wont hold my breath!
cheers everyone. ps, anyone got iphone5 and loving it? i know i am. despite yellow screen tint (which i am now warming to. get it? hahahohohehe)

Does the Sleep/Power button function? If not, then Flex Cable #5 connector has simply come loose and needs to be pressed back into its place.

  • Ipod Seems a Bit Slow (Laggy?)

I have filled up my 60gb ipod a little over half of it with just music. It seems a bit slow now trying to explore through menus... is this normal? If not, how can I go about fixing or improving it? It's getting a bit tedious now because it's hard to distinguish what you are doing at times. Thanks.
    Windows XP Pro

Thats normal, the new 1.2 firmware slowed thing as down a tad with all its new features. I don't mind much, cause the new freaure were much needed (Like gapless playback). Unfortunaly there is no way to to make things run a little snappier. Or at least not anyway I have found.

  • Hi there, have just tried purchasing an album in iTunes but the price tab is greyed out. This is like it for non explicit songs, yet the explicit songs and albums I can purchase fine. Seems a bit back to front to me, any ideas?

  • Is there any way to turn off the volume rocker of the side of the iPad?

Is there any way to turn off the volume rocker of the side of the iPad?
Please help!!!!!! I forever have the square with the volume control on my screen because my volume rocker does not work.

You could try a reboot:  Press and hold BOTH the power and home buttons at the SAME time for at least 10 seconds (ignore the red slider to shut down) until the Apple Logo appears, then let go of both buttons and your iPad should restart.  If that doesn't get rid of the volume control box on your screen, it's time to make an appointment with the Genius Bar at your Apple Store, and they can send your iPad off for service.

  • Volume rocker stuck on music

I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this.  You suddenly notice any attempt at changing the volume with the physical switch/rocker will ALWAYS adjust the music volume.  The only way is to reboot the system.
I *think* it's tied to using either pandora or the music app for a while, and maybe getting calls while using it, but I haven't been able to replicate the problem.  Hoping to see if anyone else has run into this so Palm can at least look at it.
It wouldn't be so bad if it didn't take forever and a day to reboot.
Post relates to: Pre p100eww (Sprint)

I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE!
Here's the scenario: I use the Pandora or music player app. After closing the app, my volume rocker is stuck and only adjusts the media (the music note symbol) volume. I can't adjust the Pre ringer volume.
No applications are open. Any press of the volume rocker adjusts and brings up the music note volume.
Is ANYONE else having this problem? I love my Pre but I'm starting to feel like a Guinea pig! I hate having to restart to get the ringer volume controls via the rocker back.

  • Q10 volume rocker not working

VOlume rocker of my Q010 has stop working...

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness shows up, the first thing to try is a proper reboot:
Pre-BB10 Devices ONLY. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
BB10 Devices. Hold the top button down until the counter reaches zero. Wait for the device to be fully shut down (e.g., nothing at all displayed on the screen, no LED lights, etc.). Hold the top button until the red LED is lit. Wait through the full boot-up process. If this fails, you can attempt the battery-pull method above, but it is normally NOT recommended unless nothing else works.
See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
    Good luck!

  • How can I fix a faulty volume rocker

I sent my ipod touch 3G to get fixed because the volume up portion of the rocker was starting to fail on me. The down works just fine but when I push the up portion it will either not work, go up one level or work normally. You also have to press the button at the center of the top half or the bottom. If you push it from the top half or the sides then it won't work. Apple didn't fix it and just sent it back because it couldn't be duplicated and to me that just means the person who checked it pushed the button and it went up so it worked to him completely overlooking that it only partially worked.
Conviently this all happened when my warranty was about to end in 3 days so when I got my normal ipod back it was over so does anyone know how I can fix this myself since apple is usless?

Try this site.  They have repair instructions and where to gt parts.  I do not know if yur part(s) are available.

  • Volume rocker to control ring and notifications

Why on God's green earth is there not an option to control BOTH the ringtone and notification volumes at the same time?  I know it hasn't ever been an option on the S3 (or at least that I can remember), but it just recently started to irritate me.  I know that I can control all the volumes independently, but for me that just doesn't make sense....  when I use the volume rocker to adjust the volume, I'm doing it because I want ALL of the noises (or at least ringtone and notification) to be the same.  I just can't wrap my brain around the fact that this phone doesn't offer the option like every single other Android phone I've had.

You've probably figured this out by now.....
    On the front panel,
press Setup (button with the wrench)
scroll to Basic Fax Setup, hit ok
scroll down to Fax Sound Volume, hit ok
you can switch to off there.
There is no "soft" volume.  Soft for me is exactly the same as loud, which is very LOUD - and was that way on the other 2 units that I brought back to the store for this problem.
