Volume setting memory / startup volume

does quicktime player or plugin have any setting to activate volume memory? thus it could remember the volume it was set at during last closing. if not, how about a way to set startup volume. i would prefer if the player and plugin started up with volume at 50%. starting at 100% everytime blows me out of my seat. i googled this question and poked around in quicktime's preferences/settings to no avail. thanks in advance for your time and replies.

I would like to know more about the difference between
Set Memory Cache On Display and
Set Memory Cache On Fetch
option, given in the Automated Row Fetch process.
I noticed that it makes a difference in some cases - especially where I have a master-detail relation and need to perform multiple drill down:
e.g. the report shows what was expected but export to .csv returns no rows. After switching from the default 'Set Memory Cache On Fetch' to 'Set Memory Cache On Display' everything works fine.
Where could I find something about this option?

Denes - I'd need to see an example to explain it. It is not the behavior I would expect. Can you create a simple test case on htmldb.oracle.com? Please post the workspace name and app/page ID when you have it.
A bit more info: when the DML Fetch Mode is set to 'Set Memory Cache On Display', references to items sourced by the fetch, say &P1_ENAME., will not return the value that would be displayed in the form item P1_ENAME until after the code that emits P1_ENAME executes. So if your page had a before-header DML Fetch process that fetched a value for P1_ENAME (from EMP) and region A that displayed conditionally based on P1_ENAME = 'SMITH' and then region B containing the form item P1_ENAME and then region C that displayed conditionally based on P1_ENAME = 'JONES', the condition on region A would not see the fetched value of P1_ENAME but the condition on region C would see the value. However, if you set 'DML Fetch Mode to 'Set Memory Cache On Fetch', the condition in region A would see the fetched value.
When you have a csv link or chart region that references a value from session state, that value must have been committed to session state (which happens when you run a computation, do an explicit assignment or "select into" a bind variable associated with a page or application item, or when you submit a form) in order for the csv or chart page to access the current value.

Setting application startup mode

Hi.
I have an application that is currently running, and I want to set the startup mode to 'stopped when system restarted'
I know i can do this from NWA when stopping the application.
I do not however want to stop this application to do it.
Is there a way to set the startup mode without affecting the current state?

I checked the following and also worked:
1. Open Configtool
2. Switch to configuration editor mode.
3. select deploy to find your application.
4.- Select "STR:StartUp=<>". The value of it goes from 1 to 3, 1 means manual, 2
means lazy (used only by WD appls), 3 means always.
4. I changed it from 3 to 1 and the next time I started the server the application did not start.

Setting/changing startup volume in NV or PRAM

I know there are some 3rd party apps to change/modify the NV-RAM and PRAM but I recall that there was a simple command to modify the contents of the bootram to change the level of the volume.
Problem is simple - the initial volume is much to high for me. I have to remember to reduce it before accessing anything that uses the sound system, since the sound is so loud. I think this happened since Snow Leopard, but am not sure.

The command given is
nvram SystemAudioVolume=%80
I presume the 80 is the level based on 0 to 100. I shall find out soon enough.
I further presume that a PRAM reset will fix any errors I might make.

Here is what just happened when attempting to set it
nvram SystemAudioVolume=%80
nvram: Error setting variable - 'SystemAudioVolume': (iokit/common) general error
Perhaps the % is the issue?

How do I set the Startup Disk to Boot Camp via ARD

All,
I typically use ARD and Set Startup Disk to image and reconfigure our lab computers (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2789) via a network image, namely DeployStudio. This works well. Now I want to be able to set it to a local disk to boot into Windows 7 which we have setup with Boot Camp. I get nothing but Failed responses. I am hoping it is a matter of what name or format I need to use.
I have tried:
BOOTCAMP
Windows
Windows on BOOTCAMP
None of these work. HELP!
These are iMac 21.5's running 10.6.8. ARD is 3.5.1. Same for clients.

have you considered using Send Unix Command to set boot Volume?
For instance if you have "Macintosh HD" and "Boot Camp". And you wanted to set the boot volume to "Boot Camp". You could try sending the unix command, as root:
bless -mount /Volumes/Boot\ Camp -setBoot
After setting this, if you reboot, the computer should boot to the Boot\ Camp volume. But One the computer boots to windows, getting them to boot back to the mac os x is going to be a whole other story.
FYI if your boot camp volume is labeled "Untitled" then you would send the unix command, as root, bless -mount /Volumes/Untitled -setBoot.

How to set memory size for JRE

Is there anyone know how to set the JRE memory size?
My run my applet application onto browser and I want to increase to size of memory. Such as -ms 128m -mx256m.

The suggestion could be convert applet into WebStart application which is quite similar to applet (at least
it is distributed similar way, resides within sandbox etc) but allows to specify memory size as you requested.

MSI K9N2GM-FD unable to set memory voltage.

I just bought a MSI K9N2GM-FD and i'm trying to set the memory voltage but the setting remains at [Auto] and grayed out. No key seems to adjust it, is this feature disabled on this board?

Problem setting up startup servlets in iWS 4.x

I have configured iPlanet Web Server(iWS) 4.1 SP9 to use a startup servlet. However, the error log does not show that the servlet has been initialized. Instead, it shows only the following entries:
Loading Simple Session Manager by default. Specify MMapSessionManager in servlets.properties to load persistent session manager
I found in the Knowledgebase that we need to copy the the configuration entry that was created in context.properties file into the servlets.properties file
My question that ...do we need to copy all the contents of the context.properties file or some portion of that file to servlets.properties .
Please suggest asap, I cant take a risk as this is a live server.

Hi,
You need not to copy entry file. In your servlets.properties file at the end of the file you can see the parameters settings of servlet which you have been configured as a servlet.
For example the below setting are for "HelloWorldServlet" servlet configuration. You need to copy that line only.
servlet.HelloWorldServlet.classpath=/export/home/41sp9/docs/servlet
servlet.HelloWorldServlet.code=HelloWorldServlet.class
Note: Make sure that before changing(copying)any changes in file take backup of the old file(present).

ORA-27102: out of memory startup pfile

Hi
When i startup database with the help of pfile I am getting this error
I already changed boot.ini also made the os virtual memory to 3GB
SQL> conn sys/sys as sysdba
Connected to an idle instance.
SQL> startup nomount pfile='D:\axapta\axpsby.ora';
ORA-27102: out of memory
OSD-00034: Message 34 not found; product=RDBMS; facility=SOSD
O/S-Error: (OS 8) Not enough storage is available to process this command.Please help me

Windows Integrity Level for Application set at startup

Yesterday I found a problem in my application that it had not have the same integrity level as Outlook. Therefore someone from microsoft adviced me to look at the integrity level and make them both the same. I managed to find a CommandPrompt command for
setting the integrity level, but what I really want is setting the integrity level at startup of my application.
How can I set the integrity level of my application to the desired level using C#?

runtime parameter is saved in the property file.Here
is an example of it:

ImageComponent2DRetained.set memory leak

anybody aware of a memory leak in imagecomponent2DRetained.set??
i am using java3d 1.3.1.
my application will creates Text2D objs and then detach them from the scenegraph and create new Text2D objs over and over again.
Somehow, the array of bytes in imagecomponent2dretained does not get cleared.
Any ideas please??

yes.. it is registered and is solved in the 1.2.1 release.
However i am still getting a leak in 1.3.1. Strange.
Since node.clonetree and text2d also uses image2dcomponentretained.set,
this should be a big problem.
However, i can't spot the leak in image2dcomponentretained.set. Can anyone here spot it??

To tune the SGA parameters is something equivalent to knowledges for a complete course. Really the question is so wide to answer and overall for you that you are new to Oracle. Some people does not like to read documents but in this case you will have to do it.
