Volumes empty when browsing from Novell Connections
I posted this same problem in the Novell Client forum, but I figured it may actually fit here as well.
I have a single machine that, when browsing servers and volumes using My Network Places/Novell Connections, everything comes up empty. No matter how I browse to the volumes or what servers I browse to, the volumes all show as empty.
On any other machine, the volumes show as they should, with directories and files. It is only on this one machine that they come up with nothing. There is no error popping up, you just click on any volume and the screen is blank.
However, any mapped drives show correctly. My SYS mapping (F:) shows files and folders when clicked on in My Computer. When browsing to it through My Network Places/Novell Connections, it is blank. This happens even if I right click the server in Novell Connections and Authenticate to it from there.
Any help you can give me would be much appreciated, this really has me stumped. It started happening for no apparent reason, as this machine worked fine for over a year until yesterday when this started happening.

I forgot to add system specs and what I have done to troubleshoot this already.
The system is a Windows XP Pro w/ SP2, Novell Client 4.91 SP4 and it's connecting to a Novell 6.5 SP 7 server.
So far I have :
1) Uninstalled and reinstalled the Novell Client.
2) Tried an installation with IP only. I also tried an installation with IPX only. It is now installed as both IP and IPX.
3) Changed client settings to log into many different servers, all have had the same empty volume result.

At some point last night the mac i had connected to my ipod 160gb went to sleep and when it awakened, I ejected and disconnected ipod, instead of going right to the music menus, the ipod restarted, and opens up the language selection screen, as if it is empty. There are 0 music files, 0 videos, playlists etc., actually it even says 0 KB available.
When i reconnect to my computer i have access to my ipod library on my ipod like normal.
I have tried doing the hold switch toggle and then holding menu/select until the apple icon appears, at which point it restarts, but the ipod still appears without any access to the music.
My ipod is set to sync manually, i.e. i dont have it backed up on itunes.It is a big risk to keep your only copy of song files on an iPod. It can become lost, broken, or in need of a Restore. That's what your iPod probably needs now, a Restore. There is probably data corruption on the iPod's storage.
Your computer seems to still see the song files on the iPod, so you may be able to off-load them to your computer's drive. You cannot use iTunes to transfer song files from iPod to computer, except for songs purchased from the iTunes Store. However, there are third-party methods and utilities that can transfer from iPod to computer. If you do an Internet search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some links. (The CNET article seems to be popular.)
Once the song files are on your computer's drive, add them to your current iTunes library. Then (after confirming all of your songs are there), do a Restore on your iPod. The Restore button is on the iPod's Summary screen in iTunes. This will erase the iPod, reinstall its software, and set it to default settings. You can then sync your songs back to the iPod.
Going forward, you should keep all of your songs in your iTunes library (not just on the iPod). And then back up your iTunes data on the computer, along with your other valuable personal data, to protect against your computer failing. -
Why does it say that the USB is empty when I try to connect my ipod nano to my car?
I have other devices that will connect to my car without a problem so I know it's not the car... When I plug in my nano it says that it is empty but there are clearly songs on it and I can't find anything for that trouble shooting...
Does the car's manufacturer/stereo say that your particular model and generation iPod is compatible with it? That would be the first place to start.

IP Cache problem with Safari when browsing from Google
I've been experiencing what appears to be an ARP Cache corruption problem when using Safari. It typically occurs when I've been browsing links off of a Google Search page. Tonight's specific example is where www.youtube.com is now resolved to wikipedia.com's ip address. The only way to fix the problem (short of a reboot) is to shut down the network interface and then restart (after waiting a few seconds)
This normally fixes the problem (which is why I think its the ARP cache.)This sounds like it could be related to a problem between Safari 5's DNS prefetching and your router. It may be possible that your router is scrambling DNS replies. Could you try manually entering a known good DNS server like OpenDNS into your network prefs?

Tab Groups are empty when loaded from tab group list
I have several tab groups which have been working successfully.
Today whenever I open a tab group the number of tabs is set to zero and all my tabs are lost. In the Tab Group List they show as 7, 19 etc.You can check for problems with the sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak files in the Firefox Profile Folder that store session data.
Delete the sessionstore.js file and possible sessionstore-##.js files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).

Session Cookies Being Overwritten Browsing From SSL to Non SSL
I have created a bug report for this issue as well.
Please note I am using J2EE session variables so keep that in mind.
I am seeing session cookies being overwritten when browsing from an SSL connection to a non SSL connection.
For example:
Visiting https://www.domain.com/ results in a JSESSIONID cookie being set with details being send for "Encrypted connections only".
Visiting http://www.domain.com/ results in a JSESSIONID cookie being set with details being send for "Any type of connection".
Here's the problem:
Say for example, you're logging into an admin module located at https://www.domain.com/admin/. Once authenticated and some session variables are set, you browse to http://www.domain.com/. When that happens your session cookie (JSESSIONID) is overwritten with a new value and you instantly lose your authentication in the admin module.
Obviously this is causing massive problems for my clients that bounce back and forth from SSL to non SSL connections which is common for e-commerce websites.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Clear your cookies.
2. Visit a web page such as https://www.domain.com/. Note the JSESSIONID cookie value.
3. Visit a web page such as http://www.domain.com/. Note the JSESSIONID cookie value and how it was overwritten.
This behavior changed in ColdFusion 10. ColdFusion 9 did not overwrite the session cookie.
Has anyone else experience this?Deleting and re-adding my account seems to have fixed it. I think when I initially added my Google Talk account, it was by using the "Add Jabber Account" under 10.6 or something. Now, when I re-added my account, I notice both "Google Talk" and "Jabber" are options, so my thought here is that Jabber and Google Talk options are no longer quite the same thing.

When switching from one page to another, browser timeouts and have to refresh
I know I am antiquated, however, I have dial up still. I have never had this problem until recently. When going from one page (even in email) the browser does not load and I have to refresh or it will sit there giving no error and doing nothing. Resetting fire fox does not work.
Check the connection settings.

If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then try to select "No Proxy" if "Use the system proxy settings" or one of the others do not work properly.

Note that your System Details List shows that you have a user.js file in the profile folder to initialize some prefs on each start of Firefox.
The user.js file is only present if you or other software has created it, so normally it wouldn't be there.
you can check its content with a plain text editor if you didn't create this file yourself.
The user.js file is read each time you start Firefox and initializes preferences to the value specified in this file, so preferences set via user.js can only be changed temporarily for the current session.

I have an iPad 2 and receive e-mail through regular internet connection. Lately, when I delete e-mails, and clear my Trash folder, they re-appear, downloaded anew from the server and marked as unread. My e-mail Advanced Settings are selected for "Remove from server when moved from Inbox." Even when I access the e-mail accountfrom my desktop and delete the e-mails, the re-appear on my iPad. Does anyone have any idea what is causing this and what I can do to actually delete them?
Sounds like you are looking in the wrong Administrative Group container which is why you are seeing your Exchange 2010 servers in there.
When you install Exchange 2003 only you will see a container named by default as "CN=First Administrative Group" container. But this could be named anything if you changed the Organization Name on the installation when you installed the first
Exchange 2003 server into the domain/forest.
You will notice that when you install Exchange 2010 part of the AD setup is to create a new configuration container and is named by default "CN=First Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)".
So it sounds like you are not looking in the right location within ADSIEdit.

I recommend though that you ensure your Exchange 2003 servers are fully uninstalled or no longer present in your environment before you go deleting the Servers container though.. The following Microsoft article will help with this:

When browsing documente library contents from client application, cannot see all files
We are currently running SharePoint 2010 Enterprise in a small environment. On one of my sites, I have a document library with various documents uploaded (docx, xlsx, pdf). I am unable to see all the documents when browsing the library from Word/Excel/Adobe
Acrobat. For example:
- At the root level of the library, I have 5 folders
- In Folder 1, I have 10 PDF files
- If I go into Adobe Acrobat 11, for example, and paste the address of my site in, I can see the library and I can click on it and see the 5 folders. If I click on Folder 1, there are no PDFs listed. Even changing File Type to "All Files"
still returns 0 results
Things I have tested:
If I view the library in the browser, I can see the 10 PDFs in Folder 1. They are not checked out and they are visible to everyone
If I click Library>Open w/ Explorer, I can see all 10 PDFs in Folder 1
If I try using other client applications (Word, Excel, etc..), I cannot see any files in Folder 1, even when I change the File Type to "All Files"
If I click in some of the other Folders in the same library from within a client application, sometimes I can see the files but most times I cannot

I think my observation is when you browse from word/Excel/Adobe it is taking your local system credentials and so not showing files when you access.
local system account means the account which you used to login to the system.
For example,you logged into the system as contosomo\xyz and you are trying to connect to the site using Contosomo\setup account,what my point is though you logged in to the site using the setup account site is taking your xyz account credentials and so it
not showing any files as xyz obviously will not have access.
To confirm this, you can try by giving atleast read access to the local system account (in this case xyz) to the library and then test again whether you are able to see the files or not.

I get an error message when importing from iPhoto that says, "There is not enough free space on your Aperture Library volume to import the selected items. It is estimated that you need at least 44GB of free space." the drive is empty, I just reformatted it to Mac OSX journaled.
I'm guessing this is an extrenal drive, correct? If so make sure the library you're importimng into is really located on the external drive. By default Aperture creates its library in your home pictures folder.

If you're trying to connect to a Bonjour server on the remote network, that won't work over a layer 3 VPN. Use something like Hamachi or one of the SSH-tunnelling Bonjour proxy apps for that. -
How do I save and import my bookmarks from another hard drive? When I try to open the installed Firefox on the old drive, it (obviously) opens a browser from the new main drive, free of bookmarks. Is there a way I can save the bookmarks on the old drive without opening a browser?
The guts of my computer were rearranged and I got a new main hard drive. My old one is still in there and I can get stuff from it, but when I go to the Mozilla folder on the old one, I can't figure out if there's anything I can do to get all my bookmarks from that drive to my new one, where Firefox is newly installed.If you open Firefox then Firefox will always use the default profile folder as found via profiles.ini on your system drive.
You either need to import the file in your current default profile or copy the file to your current profile folder while Firefox is closed.
Firefox 3 stores the bookmarks and the browser history in [http://kb.mozillazine.org/places.sqlite places.sqlite] and no longer creates an HTML backup by default.
There are also (five) JSON backups in the bookmarkbackups folder within the Firefox profile folder.
You can either copy the file places.sqlite to your [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder] or import the most recent JSON backup from the bookmarkbackups folder of that old profile.
