Voluntary organisation, mac/pc, many computers, few users, volume license questions

I help run a community project based around media opportunities. If we have 5 computers in the office and want CS4 installed on all of them, but it's likely the programs won't be run at the same time (eg 2 users max using cs4 at the same time). Do we have to buy 5 separate licenses?
I would also like to make the machines duel boot to OSX or windows, ideally we would have a OSX version of Windows version of the software on each machine. Would this require us to buy double the licenses?
I have a feeling for this ideal setup, we would need 10 licenses when I only expect up to a couple people using the same program at once...

  • On how many computers can one Muse license be used?

I know, that all application of the Creative Cloud can be installed on two computers using only one license.
But is it legal or possible, to use both installation at the same time?

As a subscriber to Adobe Muse software, you will have Access to both the Mac OS and Windows versions and the ability to install them on your primary computer and one backup computer. So, you can install your applications on both as long as they are not running at the same time.
According to the Terms and conditions "The primary user of the Computer on which the Software is installed under, (“Primary User”) may install a second copy of the Software for his or her exclusive use on either a portable Computer or a Computer located at his or her home, provided that the Software on the portable or home Computer is not used at the same time as the Software on the primary Computer.

  • How many computers does Adobe Photoshop CS6 extended Students and Teacher Edition be licensed on?

I have Adobe Photoshop CS6 extended Students and Teacher Edition, but i wanted to know how many computers it can be licensed on?

You can do licensed install on two systems same platform(Win or Mac). This depends for which platform you bought the SN for.
    Hope this answers your query.

  • How do I kow how many computers are sharing my airport?

Is there a way to know (from my mac) how many computers are connected and when? I mean how many are using the internet connection, via airport, at a given time? Thanks.. Seba

This might depend a bit on the configuration of your airport network.
I just bought a TimeCapsule, and was pleased to find that using Airport Utility 5.3.2, it actually tells you how many wireless clients are connected. To find that, I selected the TC in the utility, and then selected manual setup, and on the Summary tab, right below Channel, the number of Wireless Clients is listed.
This also seems to work the same with my older (not 802.11n) Airport Extreme base station (AEBS), but might not work with older airport devices.

  • How many computers can be covered by a single concurrent license ?

We have a factory full of computers running LabWindows CVI executable files. We have an upgrade to roll out and for convenience we would like to acquire a concurrent license to perform the upgrade. Is there a limit on the number of computers that can be serviced with one concurrent license ? Some computers do not have a network connection, is it possible to install CVI to an external drive & use a dongle in place of a network connection?  What other options are available for maintenance of code on 20 to 30 computers ?
I read on a 2005 posting it was recommended to uninstall CVI from one computer and put it on another. I have not found this to be very simple. We have 5 seats on our site license. We use 3 licenses full time on development systems. Could we dedicate 2 licenses to install to an external drive & use a dongle ? I am confused about the postings allowing a Home Installation. How would the electronic license validation "know" this was for home use ?

Typically, upgrades are done through a CVI Distribution Kit Installer. Our distribution kits support versioning and upgrades. With this method, you would just need to build a new installer on the development system and distribute that to each system. If you do not use an installer, then simply replacing the executable and dependcies is all that is needed. Keep in mind that the LabWindows/CVI Run-Time Engine does not require a license so you should not need to install or activate the development environment on your target systems.
However, if you need to make development changes on each system, then you can use the concurrent license on the target systems. Most likely, you have computer based concurrent licenses. In this case, you can add all of the system to the list of licensed computers. But since your systems are not connected to the internet, you will need to create a disconnected license for each system. This is a license file that will need to be installed on the target system and will allow you to license it using the concurrent license while disconnected from the network. The hard part here will be that you can only create 1 disconnected license at a time per seat. So you would need to work closely with your admin to check that disconnected license in and out.
From you description I am not sure you really need to install and activate CVI on the target systems. For volume license questions like this, I encourage you to call in for support because these licensing scenarios are very dependent on what sort of licensing contract you have with NI. Visit www.ni.com/contact for support contact information.
As for the home licensing model suggested on the other thread. I am not sure what this thread other thread suggested, but this is not a valid use case for the Home license. That license is really meant for users who have a single seat license (not volume license) who want access to CVI when working from home or their laptop.

  • 3 installations per user-based license: HowTo?

    Hello
We have a number of user-based licenses. License agreement states that I can have 3 installations per user, provided only one is utilised per time. Suits me fine, since we run a number of test systems (15) and have about 5 LV programmers ("a", "b", "c", "d", and "e") intermittently programming on these.
Now, however, I wonder how to set up the license manager.
    Do I need to have 5 x 3 systems with Windows user accounts "a", "b", "c", "d",and "e" respectively?
    Thank you for your help-
    Michael

    Hello
Sorry, I must have gotten mixwed up with the numbers: It's 5 named user licenses, indeed.
But to clarify, license agreement does say
    --------------------- SNIP ---------------------
2.A: Named User/Computer Based License. If you have acquired a named user license, you must designate in
writing (through the NI registration process) one (1) of your employees to serve as the named user for the
license (the "Named User"). The SOFTWARE may be installed on up to three computers in a single
workplace of the designated Named User. Only the designated Named User, however, may use or
otherwise run the SOFTWARE, and the SOFTWARE may not be run concurrently (i.e., it may only be
launched on one computer at a time).
    ----------------- SNAP ----------------------
So my idea is that 5 employees with 5 named user volume licenses are licensed to 3 test stands each. Since those 5 are the only programmers around, none of them will use more than one license at a time, i.e. only 5 installations are being used. However, according to my understanding, there may be 15 machines with legal installations of LabVIEW on disc or registered to the NI-VLM, 10 dormant, 5 active.
And if this interpretation holds, my question is: How do I set up the test stand PCs and the licenses in the NILM.
Please pardon my persistence, but otherwise I'll be swapping licenses on an hourly basis ;-)

Hiya, i am new to the latest version of creative cloud. Wonder if i can install creative cloud in both mac and PC? And up to how many computers can i install the creative cloud? If I am going to graduate in a few months time, can I still use student discount to purchase the one year package and pay it off in one go? Thanks! !

Sure , you can install on both Mac as well as PC .
Max activation allowed = 2 computers.
Student discounted price will be valid for one year.
Later you can purchase with different Adobe ID , with valid proof of eligibility .
Once you had purchased yearly prepaid subscription , it will not expire for another one whole year , whether you are still student or finished graduation. It will expire after year.

  • How many computers can you install the micro soft Office 2011 on.

How many computers can you install the Micro Office 2011 on?

A full (retail, single license key) MS Office license permits you to install Office on 1 desktop Mac + 1 portable (laptop) Mac provided 1) you own both computers and 2) you do not use Office simultaneously on both computers.
Beyond that, it depends on the specific Office package you have.  Some packages have more specific terms.
For example, if you have MS Office Home & Student 2011 you will have 3 activation keys permitting you to install it on 3 computers, period.  (Not 1 desktop + 1 laptop per license key.)
The license key pertains to the computer (device) not the number of user accounts on the device.  So, if you have 2 or 3 or more user accounts on your iMac you only need to use 1 license key for the iMac itself.  You apply the license key (activate the software) only in the admin account under which you installed the software.  Once you activate the software in the primary admin account, Office will be usable in all user accounts on the iMac.  Do not try to activate the software under other user accounts on the same Mac - if you do you will unnecessarily use up more license keys.

Copied from the License agreement on my machine:
    B. iWork Single User License. This License allows you to install and use one copy of the Apple Software (whether
trial or full version) on a single Apple-labeled computer at a time. This License does not allow the Apple Software
to exist on more than one computer at a time, and you may not make the Apple Software available over a
network where it could be used by multiple computers at the same time. You may make one copy of the Apple
Software in machine-readable form for backup purposes only; provided that the backup copy must include all
copyright or other proprietary notices contained on the original.
    C. iWork Family Pack License. This License allows you to install and use one copy of the Apple Software on up
to a maximum of five (5) Apple-labeled computers at a time as long as those computers are located in the same
household and used by persons who occupy that same household. By "household" we mean a person or persons
sharing the same housing unit such as a home, apartment, mobile home or condominium. This license does not
extend to students who reside at a separate on-campus location or to business or commercial users. You may
not make the Apple Software available over a network.

  • How many computers can take wireless internet from a MBP?

Hello guys, my MBP takes the internet wiredly. Temporarily there's no router in place and my flatmates don't have internet so I've enabled the internet sharing (System Preferences>Sharing>Internet) and have seen that one computer at a single time has connected to mine. I'm just wondering now how many computers can connect, wirelessly, simultaneously to a MBP. Does anyone know?
    Thank you.
MBP 15in 2.33GHz.   Mac OS X (10.4.9)   other 200+ posts with the old Discussion Forums (now lost)

I am not quite sure I understand your question, but I
think the answer you are looking for is ten.
Generally, any wireless hot spot can support up to
ten connections at a time. I am not sure, but I don't
think it matters if its a dedicated wi-fi router or a
computer that's sharing a networked connection.
A limit of 10 is impossible as a general rule, because of all the places around the world that serve more than 10 customers with wifi from a single, generic brand access point behind the counter.
I see from Apple's specs that the little AirPort Express does have a limit of 10, but the AirPort Extreme stations support up to 50 users. Other brands support even more.
There is probably a low limit on the number of users that can be connected to a computer sharing Internet, and it very well could be 10 in that specific case. Apple's documentation doesn't say.

  • Want to use Adobe forms departmentally.  How many users per license?

How many people can use Adobe Forms per license/how many computers can we download software to?

Adobe FormsCentral is a web-based app so there is nothing to download - you access from the web browser.
Each users who creates forms needs a license of FormsCentral. In a month or so you'll be able to by a team pack (5,10,25) at reduces prices for a larger group who wants to create forms.

  • I'm a school tech coordinator. Many computers and many iPads. How many Apple IDs can I have per device, and how many devices can have the same Apple ID? To make my life easier, I'd like 200 devices to all use the same Apple ID.

I'm a school tech coordinator. I have many computers and many iPads. I apologize if there is a some place that has all the rules governing the use of Apple IDs. I looked, and I even tried to get the answers from multiple Apple rep's. I couldn't find the answers.
How many Apple IDs can I have per device?
I want to use the same computer to sync and backup many iOS devices. The iOS devices would be associated with different Apple IDs.
I may load apps under a school Apple ID and have users load their own apps under thier own ID.
How many devices can have the same Apple ID?
Can I use the same Apple ID on all the computers in a lab?
Can I use the same Apple ID on all iPads for a particular grade level?
Are the rules different for iOS devices and computers?
I know that there are limits on "authorize" and "de-authorize" and how frequently those things can be done.
Recently I heard that for the life of an iOS device, it can only be associated with five Apple IDs. That is not good for a school giving iPads to students in a 1:1
To make my life easier, I'd like 200 devices to all use the same Apple ID.
