Voodoo3 3000 driver for Solaris 8 IA

Hi,
I am looking for a 3dfx-Voodoo3 3000 AGP 16MB driver for solaris 8.
Target computer : AMD K7 Tunderbird CPU whit ASUS A7V133 M.B.
Thanks in advance

Hi Shaun,
I had email contact with sun technicians and they told me that they keep on improving graphics support but that there's no Nvidia driver available by now. No one could tell me when they would start to support GeForce chips but they said it's a good idea to use XFree86 instead which comes with in integrated nvidia driver. Version 4.0.3 worked almost right out of the box, version 4.1.0 caused problems so I reinstalled 4.0.3 again.
Hope this helps!
Regards from Germany

    Hi,
    I am looking for a 3dfx banshee driver for solaris 8. Any pointers. If none exists any pointers to how I could port the 3dfx drivers for linux and glide over to solaris 8. Can I use gcc to do my work?
    Thanks in advance

    Hello Flavio,
    please i need a driver for Voodoo3 3000 AGP video
    adapter, you have one ?No. I wrote a driver for the V2 and it's not very useful - I made it for Solaris Sparc and all you can do is a few IOCTLs and mmap the device memory into userland. The driver does work on i386 but you need the latest MMU patch. I did not have the time yet to port glide - I have something half working for sparc but I have not spend time to make it work on i386. Even with glide working you can't use X11 (one would have to write the X11 drivers and that's a whole new ball game).
    How i do to install this driver ? sorry im begining
    on Sun.If you wish to use it for X11, I would recommend to download the XFree86 binaries for Solaris, since it has support for the V3.
    You can get more information about it on www.xfree86.org.
    My S.O. is Sun Solaris 8 01-01 (IA) on ASUS A7V133 and
    AMD K7 cpu.
    Thanks to you, very much.You are welcome!

  • SIS 6326 driver for Solaris Intel platform

    Apparently those who used a SiS 6326 chip on the graphics card
    cannot find a proper driver for Solaris 8 Intel.
    I am having the same problem, is there any way of resolve this problem
    so I can make my graphics card work at 100% or does this mean I have to get a different graphics card which is supported by Solaris 8 Intel.

    Do you know if there is any other old SiS drivers for Sun? Maybe we can make it work good (at least 50% fine) using an old driver...
    PS: If you can, please answer to my email: [email protected]
    Thanks in advance...

  • SQLServer ODBC driver for solaris

    Hi,
    do anyone know where I can find the SQLServer ODBC driver for solaris in order to use Oracle Heterogeneus
    Service?

    Easysoft has two ways to do this:
    An ODBC-JDBC gateway driver that runs any JDBC accessible database including SQL Server under one license. Apparently, the ODBC C library has a JAVA engine in there to read the vendor JAR files. I tried it on Interbase with windows, and it worked fine.
    They also have an ODBC-ODBC bridge, but that implies a Windows Server to provide the real SQL Server ODBC for free with another network hop.

  • ISCSI Driver for Solaris 8

    Hello,
    Can someone tell me if there is iSCSI driver available for Solaris?
    Cisco side does have download link any more for Solaris.
    Thanks,
    Vigyan

    Solaris does not yet have a production iscsi driver. You can get it in the beta solaris 10 download but it is not production ready yet. You will have to look around on the net for the cisco one our some other third party driver for the time being.

  • SUN QuadFastEthernet Driver for Solaris 8

    Does anyone knows if I install the drivers for Solaris 2.5 on my Solaris 8 if I have any chance that it will work?

    I am having the similar problem identified in this thread.
    OS: Sun Solaris 10 01/06
    Hardware: Sun Blade 2500
    PCI Memory card.
    Problem: When driver moves more then 40 bytes via PIO from a PCI device memory card, the long words are swapped starting at 40 byte transfer size and greater.
    device memory description:
    static ddi_device_acc_attr_t sdram_access_attr =
    DDI_DEVICE_ATTR_V0, /* Boilerplate value */
    DDI_STRUCTURE_LE_ACC,
    DDI_STRICTORDER_ACC /* Don't reorder accesses */
    The user application does a read call, which goes to xxread. xxread calls physio( xxstrategy, bp, dev, B_READ, xxminphys, uio );
    In xxstrategy the transfer is done using
    ddi_mem_rep_get8(ucb->ucb_sdram_accHndl,
    (uint8_t*) kaddr,
    (uint8_t*) raddr,
    (size_t) bp->b_resid),
    (uint_t) DDI_DEV_AUTOINCR );
    PCI Device memory is loaded with incrementing address (8bit), 0,1,2... This is confirmed using a PCI Bus Analyzer.
    A read of 36 bytes or less returns:
    03 02 01 00 07 06 05 04 ...
    A read of 40 bytes returns:
    07 06 05 04 03 02 01 00 ...
    If I peek 1 byte at a time using ddi_get8(ucb->ucb_sdram_accHndl, ...) I get
    00 01 02 03 04 05 06 07
    Why are the long words swapped starting at 40 byte transfer size and greater?

  • Quad gigaSwift Ethernet Driver for Solaris 10 Sparc

    I have been looking about for this all over the place and cannot find it anywhere, in the manual and the sun site all the downloads are for solaris 9.
    Are these cards not supported on Solaris 10 Sparc ?
    Cheers,
    Mike

    it is the X4444A solaris 10 did pick up the card straight away, but the problem is there was no ce.conf file, i have created my own because i need to turn on jumbo frame for an individual port, but when i add it in all the ports on the card are being set to MTU 9800 so then i have to set them indivually to 1500 apart from the one i am using that needs to be 9000. This is all good and proper but when i activate this the box connects to the netapps server but all nfs shares fail as soon as anything touches these directories.
    The netapps filer is running at MTU 9000 and the card is running at 9000 causes everything to fall over, set back to normal and everything is ok.
    Any ideas ?

    I'm in need of an ODBC Driver for Oracle 8.1.6. We can't use Merant and Openlink doesn't support 8.1.6 yet. Any suggestions?

  • Problem with a DDI Device driver for Solaris 8 and 9 on a Sun-Blade-1500

    The problem has to do with dma allocated memory and the little-endian format.
    When I copy blocks bigger than 256 bytes to the dma memory, using a uiomove() or bcopy(), the data after the first 32 bytes is swapped around over 8 bytes.
    The bcopy from a driver (stack) buffer into the dma virtual memory has the same affect.
    So it has to do with the kernel dma allocated memory and the endianess.
    When I set the byte order to big-endian inside the ddi_device_acc_attr the data seems to be alright, also with bigger transfer sizes.
    My device however needs the little-endian format.
    I have the same the same device driver running without any errors on a Sun Blade-150 Solaris 8 for a long time now.
    Can somebody please advise me?

    In device manager - display adapters, only AMD problem (Microsoft Basic Display Adapter), then I uninstall the driver to be able to install AMD drivers.
    I tried with "14-4-mobility-win7-Win8-win8.1-64-dd-ccc-WHQL", it is said that the last AMD drivers, but when at the end of install, it said failed to complete.
    i also update driver Intel HD 3000 from this " https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=23764 "

    1. In bios, do you found fixed and dynamic? if you don't found, install bios mod. Use dynamic
    2. Uninstall all programs and drivers previously, before of "Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. - Graphic Adapter WDDM1.3 - AMD Radeon HD 6700M Series" Release July 2014. You can use http://www.wagnardmobile.com/DDU, for example.
    3. Do you install windows 8.1 on windows 8.0? do you use windows 8.1 fresh installation? Can you testing install a new copy of windows 8.0 fresh? install drivers and later install updates... or fresh install windows 8.1?
    4. You testing install Windows 7 with http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp55001-55500/sp55092.exe and update to windows 8?
    5. You testing install http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp55001-55500/sp55092.exe in windows 8 initially?
    NOTE: Excuse me my bad english, I try to help you. You should install drivers in order: Intel Chipset Device Software, Intel Rapid Storage Technology, Intel Management Engine Interface (6-series / 7-series / 8-series / 9-series) and then AMD software: http://forum.notebookreview.com/hp-drivers-software-forum/556469-drivers-hp-dv6-4xxx-dv6-6xxx-dv7-5x...

    NOTE 3. Test leshcat or guru3d drivers, and review forum respectively

  • 2.2 GPIB driver for Solaris doesn't work with Sol. 2.3 tester

    Upgraded to 2.2 GPIB driver to fix issue of driver being lost on Sun Ultra60's at shutdown and reboot. The driver works fine with 10 of the 11 tester platforms we use. This tester is a Genesis III running Solaris 2.3. The program will run successfully, but when shutdown and re-started, the drivers are not there and must be re-installed. What to do? Thanks.

    Thanks for the suggestion to check privileges, but that's the problem--the driver is not present to have any privileges to check. On reboot, there are only links (all owned by root with 777 perm.) at /dev which lead to non-existent directories.
    #/dev> ls -l gpib*
    lrwxrwxrwx 1 root other 43 Apr 18 09:50 gpib -> ../devices/pci@1f,4000/NATI,pci-gpib@2:gpib
    lrwxrwxrwx 1 root other 44 Apr 18 09:50 gpib0 -> ../devices/pci@1f,4000/NATI,pci-gpib@2:gpib0
    lrwxrwxrwx 1 root other 44 Apr 18 09:50 gpib1 -> ../devices/pci@1f,4000/NATI,pci-gpib@4:gpib1
    If you try to use these links to go to these dirs, there're not there. Also, ibconf shows no gpib devices loaded.
    Any more suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
