Vote for your favorite music creation app!

http://emusician.com/
I found this on another forum.. I just voted and noticed that Logic heads haven't stepped up to vote yet.

Maybe it's because Logic users are too busy making kick**s music instead of schlepping around online?
In all seriousness, I have noticed I spend more time in Logic and less time on forums since I switched from Sonar. I think I was constantly looking for that one crucial tip that would make Sonar worthwhile. I never found it.

  • What is your favorite note taking app for handwriting to text?

What is your favorite note taking app for handwriting to text?

I use WritePad - feel it does a good job. However, I must admit that I didn't try any others... at the time, it had the best reviews of any handwriting recognition app (in fact, as I recall, it might have been the only one to do recognition).

  • Looking for a good music player app

    Hi.
I have a problem. i'm looking for a good music player app for my new iphone (which i will buy my next month) in terms of playing music. after having 3 phones in the last 9 months i'm still unhappy.
Had a Samsung Galaxy Ace. sound was above average but due to underpowered processor + RAM (and Samsung stating they won't update the software anymore) i had to sell it.
Than had a Sony Ericcson Xperia Neo but felt the sound was "flat" and bland" and left me disappointed and uninspired coming from a well-known phone maker know for its audio & visual expertise.
Now, i currently have the HTC Desire S. umm although the sound was "Ok" with its usual pre-set equalizers (common among Android phones) and SRS sound enhancement it felt me wanting more and although i have the phone for a week now i would say "so far-so good."
but i heard the best music phones out there are those with either Beats Audio (which are very brand new) or the ones with Dolby Mobile.
had an iPod touch (4th-gen) and i was amazed and impressed by the sound quality.
so, if i can get away with a good music player app that recreates surround sound, has good preset EQ's along with customisable ones and one with Dolby-like support which app would you recommend?
    Thank you.

Stock lock screen does not normally support 3rd party widgets so you wont find any third party players that allows you access while on lock screen..  As for the player I perfer Meridian Media Player Revolute from https://market.android.com/details?id=org.iii.romulus.meridian&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsIm9yZy5paWkucm9tdWx1cy5tZXJpZGlhbiJd

  • Your favorite Flash based apps ?

I'm writing an article on the unexpected and underestimated power of using Flash to develop apps for the iPhone/iPad. It seems that most developers and designers are still under the "No Flash" mantra of Steve Jobs. However, it is hard to find good examples of Flash based apps, since they're simply not promoted as such in the App Store. It also seems that the number of available Flash based apps is not that impressive, judging by the (lack of) developers talking about it on the web or in forums. I just find stumble upon stale pages on the old debate or even older pre-CS5 techniques...
There used to be this list:
    http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/flashcs5/appsfor_iphone/
But it refers to the new Packager, now.
So, who can help me out ?
What's your favorite Flash app for iOS ?
Are there any lists or spots where they all flock together ?
UPDATE: Oops, I didn't scroll deep enough in the topic list to find out there's already another thread that touts examples of Flash based apps. However, your suggestions are welcome, of course !

  • [Desktop][Search] Search Bar for your own music, artist, radios...

Hi Spotify, when i want to listen a song in my music i have to search it manually. If i not remember de name (of the song, or artist) very well, the search bar allow me it to find it faster.  Ur search bar now only allow me to search the song in the universe, but have another one just for my songs, its gonna be awesome.

Updated: 2015-06-30Hi and thanks for your contribution! A similar idea has also been suggested here:

  • I'm looking for a text/music notation app

I am a drummer in a cover band who would like to use my iPad for my shorthand version of drum charts.  What I currently have is a paper notebook, in which I have dedicated a page for each set.  On each page, I have the song title, then the main drum beat(s) (written in musical notation), followed by any notes regarding arrangement, tempo, etc.  All of this is condensed down into a couple of lines, so I can fit about 10 songs on each sheet of paper.  I could scan in what I have now and view it that way, but I would rather have clear and editable digital based notation and text.  Does anything like this exist, not for composing and arranging orchestral pieces, but for simply inserting a bar or 2 of music into some text?
    In other words:
Locked Out Of Heaven    I------------------------------------I   Intro/V/PC/C/V/C etc...        120 bpm
                                         I---Musical notation---------I
                                         I------------------------------------I
                                         I------------------------------------I

If Settings -> General -> Accessibility -> VoiceOver does not work, then it is unlikely iBooks will do text to speach on its own in the current version.
    <http://www.apple.com/feedback>
I know that some competing services, Kindle, Nook, etc... are restricted in doing text to speach by the book publishers.
If this is text in a PDF (not an ebook), then maybe there is another app that can to text to speach on PDFs.
If it is published books that are of interest, there is Audible.com <http://www.audible.com/>
In theory it should be possible to use the Mac OS X Text to Speach facilities to convert a document into an audio file, and they sync that to the iPod Touch.  I assume there is similar text to speach utilities for Windows systems.
I'm also guessing that there are web sites dedicated to assisting sight impaired individuals that might provide ideas for getting text to speach options for the iPod Touch.

  • Your favorite Music Libraries?

Hello all. I was looking for opinions on the Music Libraries out there. I'm in need of some music, and from my searches online and here at the Apple forums, it seems that SmartSounds and BackTraxx are some of the better ones.
While their price points and library sizes vary, they both seem to have some "decent" music. Those are my impressions. What are yours?
What are the best libraries out there for under $1,000? Best being the least cheesey/best sounding, etc. I guess. Thanks.

If you want a huge selection, and I DO mean HUGE, try Associated Production Music, New York and LA. Everything's online and downloadable.
BUT: you must purchase a license for the cues, it's a sliding scale depending on type of production, audience size, number of copies, freebie or for sale.
Terrific composers, orchestra to acoustic guitar solo. Really the only choice as far as I'm concerned.
Problem with metro or killer trax is that there's basically one producer for the cues. They all sound the same.
I've got no connection with APM-- just a happy customer for 20 years.

  • How do I get a refund for all my music and apps?

Apple has lost my account.  I've gone through the customer support system twice and the most helpful thing that resulted was to rename another Apple ID to my missing one. Consequently, years worth of apps and music have gone.
It's not anything I've done (my most recent purchase was yesterday and I have an invoice to prove it), so it must be their system. My password stopped working and it became apparent that my ID no longer exists.
How do I go about getting a refund?

    RhymneyDad wrote:

    Twice.
Pleasant chaps, but absolutely no help.
They believe that my Apple ID has been accidentally renamed, which it hasn't.  I need to forward my most recent invoice to somebody with the power to do some investigating outside the on-screen account recovery prompts.
That would be AppleID Account Security at Apple support.

  • What are the most useful/your favorite Ipod touch apps?

I am currently in the market for an ipod and I'm just not sure if I need a touch or not. I would love a 16gig but they don't exist which means I have to spend a lot of money on 32 gig. Anyways, I am just curious if the investment will be worth it in the long run because of the app's. Yes, I realize that a useful app to you might not be to me and vice versa so I was just hoping you guys could list off some of the most useful ones for you guys personally so I can know what to expect. Thanks!

    1. Apple's "Remote". I love the ability to control my computer (playing my iTunes library into my stereo) from anywhere in my house via wi-fi.
    2. "Units" (and others like it). Very handy tool to convert sq. feet to acres, meters per second to mph, N-m to ft-lb, etc.
    3. "Loan Shark" (and others like it). Very handy to figure out monthly payments on a loan given the interest rate/ term, calculating how much principle you will have paid after X months, etc.
    4. "Sports Tap". ¡Órale! Mexico just beat France 2-0!
I have many others, but these I use a lot and find the most useful.

  • Simple iPhone music creation app's name? You can snap fingers and hum to create on 4 part band

This is a really simple app with - like the image of a bass guitar against an orange field. You might sing "dum, dum-dum" rhythmically into the iPhone, and that's transformed into the bass line. I've been told this is similar to Garageband, but seems simpler.
Does anyone know the name of this app (& how to get it, if it's not easilly found in the app store)?
    THANKS!

    Dear Brian:
Create a Play List in iTunes.
Control-Click and open "Export" in the highlighted Playlist in iTunes.
    With "Export" opened:
    1. Click on "Format" and choose "M3U";
    2. In "Save As" name your "WhatEverNamePlaylist.m3u"; and
    3. In "Where" tell the program where to send your "WhatEverNamePlaylist.m3u".
You are done creating the Playlist.m3u in iTunes.
    Open "Subsonic Web Page".
Left hand column open "Import playlist".
In "Import playlist" click "Choose File" and open the "WhatEverNamePlaylist.m3u"; you created in iTunes.
The "WhatEverNamePlaylist.m3u" should now occupy the space between "Choose File" and "OK".
    Click "OK".
The file should now be in the "Playlist" on the left.

  • Upgrade to Vista, lose your authorization for your purchased music

I upgraded from XP to Vista, and my iTunes is asking me to reauthorize my songs. The problem with this is that I've hit my five computer limit (I have three active computers, two that I forgot to deauthorized). It's not a new computer or a new install of iTunes, so I'm a little annoyed about the reauthorization.

I'm not using Vista, but I had the exact same problem on my windows XP install of 7.0.2 iTunes. It wasn't the only problem, but it was one of them.
It boiled down to the latest version of iTunes requiring the user account I was utilizing having full control[\b] privilages on the iTunes install directory. I don't know how you would do that in Vista, but if you grant that permission to the user account in question, you may very well not ever need to worry about disabling UAC, then reenabling it later.
FWIW, the other issue was an error -42018 when attempting to download new purchases. If you have that problem after your disable UAC/authorize/reenable, it may be that you have the same issue I did.

  • VOTE FOR YOUR BEST ADDED PLUGIN.   WHAT ARE SOME PLUGINS WELL WORTH THE $$

Always like to see peoples opinions about added plugins for logic pro.
WHAT ARE SOME GREAT PLUGINS WELL WORTH THE MONEY?
TYPE OF SOUND CAN BE SYNTHS/EFFECTS WHATEVER YOU LIKE.

i've stopped using external plugins cause it always ended up with some issues :
    - plugins would have some bugs
    - plugins would need to be updated all the time, and the new version would mess up with my songs
    - automation would not work properly
    - settings would not have been saved properly with the song ...
of course i'm exagerating but :
    - logic already has plenty of plugins all sounding well and covering everything you need
    - i don't master half of them yet
    - there's always a way to achieve the same sound of an other plugin / technic, may it be less easy
    - any of my songs could be opened with any Logic Pro 7 in the world
    - i feel like plugins are the new video games. my friend don't play video game anymore, they download plugins and rave about the latest ones. i don't need plugins to get creative, and when i have an idea of a sound or a song, i've never thought "**** i need reaktor" or anything.
    just my two cents !
