Vote here for native Twitter app from Nokia

Reply if u want, like me, a high-quality Twitter application from Nokia on all our Nokia's (especially E series !

Well,
Gravity costs money. And currently i think Nokia's biggest challenge is SOFTWARE. Nokia's software offering is fragmented and poor (Ovi store is a nice improvement, but it's filled with too much useless content right now). And i really hate the fact that sometimes new features are only added on new phones .. and not backwards implemented. Lifecycle of hardware and software support is too short.
I want a phone with some nice usefull pre-installed software on it .. that is inspired by the web as it is today.

  • Official Twitter app from BlackBerry

    Hi,
I added a Twitter account through the Accounts page in the Settings. That way, Im shown only the Direct Messages. Unable to find my twitter timeline.
Is there an official Twitter app from BlackBerry for the PlayBooks on the AppWorld. I find that coming preloaded on Z10 smartphones but not on PlayBooks. I am not preferring to download other 3rd party apps. What are the possible risks of sideloading an app? I prefer to download the official app for Playbook from the online store.

There is (on mine) a Twitter Short Cut pre installed on the home screen of the PlayBook.  This however will only allow you to view mobile Twitter. There was a url trick that could change this to full Twitter but Twitter put a stop to this across several platforms apparently for security reasons.  I recommend you download the Origami Browser from BlackBerry World. This will allow you to view the full version of Twitter as though on a pc. Works well for me.

  • Mobile Twitter site, NOT Twitter App from app world.

How do I log out of Twitter mobile site on my Blackberry Curve 8520? It's NOT the App
How do i log out of Twitter mobiel site on my BB Curve 8520? It's NOT the Twitter App from App world. I have the app and can log out on it but on when I use the mobile internet, I can't seem to find the log out button or log out at all. When I scroll down to the bottom there is no option to log out there

I'm having the same issue.  It's defnitely not the phone.  I used another account to log in and it worked perfectly fine.  I think it is facebook trying to change something or maybe something is wrong with one of our settings? I dislike the facebook application.

  • Twitter App (From Firefox Marketplace) opens, and then goes blank.

I am running the latest Firefox on a Moto G running Android Kitkat (Android 4.4.4).
I installed the Twitter App from the Firefox Marketplace at https://marketplace.firefox.com/app/twitter . I installed following the instructions at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/install-android-apps-using-marketplace .
When I open the App, a green screen with a Twitter/Android-ish logo appears, and then the screen goes blank.
The Twitter Marketplace App does not work. How can I get this App to work?

Make sure that you are using the '''"Remember History"''' setting as described in this article -> [[Options window - Privacy panel]]
Check and tell if its working.

  • Settings for Native Mobile App

I'm using RoboHelp 11 to generate a native mobile app for Android.
In the Generate Native Mobile App dialog box, I've downloaded PhoneGap, Android SDK, JDK, and Apache Ant. I've then used paths that I think would work. Here's a screen shot:
When I attempt to generate the file, I see an error (below).
Can you please recommend the exact path? I've looked at your documentation(Adobe RoboHelp 11 * Generate a native mobile app) and Tom Aldous's YouTube video (How To Create Android App From Your Training and Technical Manuals - YouTube). Does it matter where I download the files? Is RoboHelp 11 just compatible with certain versions of these downloads?

@Robert I am working with someone else who is having problems. I produced some instructions for Rh10 that got things working for myself and others. The difference between 10 and 11 is that 10 required some system variables to be set whereas 11 sets the necessary paths when generating the app. Thus it is likely your problems are related to the various installations. Given where you have located them, it is not possible for me to read them. I put each app (except Java) directly off the C drive.
To the best of my knowledge, the only app that is version specific is PhoneGap which must be 2.9.0 and that is what you have.
First try moving the apps and generating outside your profile. This is my setup from 10 but 11 is the same as far as this part is concerned.
    See where that gets you.
@Rick Apps are great for Knowledge Bases. As far as OLH is concerned, there are some usability issues if people don't know how to switch between apps.

  • Support for native packaged apps?

    Hi,
I'm looking to incorporate some Native Process functionality into my app, which means I'll be deploying EXE, DMG, and possibly RPM version of the application.
Is there anyway that Melrose can facilitate this in it's current state? Looking at the developer panel, it doesn't seem so...

That helps alot, I'll now have to re-think my business model as obviously InMarket is not the place I can be if I want to develop cutting edge AIR applications. I truly appreciate the timeframe though, it gives me some solid info I can plan around.
I'm not sure I agree with the direction entirely, I think the monetization opportunities go down 10-fold by not allowing use of the Native API's in 2.0.
With the native process API's the variety of application's we could build in AIR expanded exponentially, suddenly we can take advantage of thousands of pre-existing native processes to do all kinds of things that AIR can't do natively. The possibilities are endless.
So, while you are focusing on reaching into new markets, you're limiting AIR apps to be simplistic in nature, and quite limited in functionality. Not to mention, it's a poor message to developers: Here's this API we released, but it will be 18mths+ before we will actually support it in our own storefront.
I'm not really sure what one has to do with the other as well. Mobile/Tabled and TV's will obviously not support Native Process anyways, so I don't see how adding support for native apps in Desktop storefronts, should really affect the partnerships / development of these other storefronts.
It seems you guys are overthinking things. Start with getting the simple/basic stuff working properly, then you can conquer the world

  • Any solution for Launching Air Apps from Sandboxed Chrome and Safari Browsers?

Before we go and build our own plug-in (Ugh!)...
As of early this year, we could no longer launch our Air application from Chrome. Now Safari (with Mavericks) has Sandboxed Flash with their browser and it will no-longer launch our application.
Does anyone have any helpful advice (beyond building our own plug-in)?
    Thanks,
       Leo

For the Chrome issue, I added instructions on how to manually enable an exception so that the plugin could run. The easier way to get it working is to have them install an Air app from the browser using a Flash badge. This didn't work for us since our app needs a native installer. Another option is to have our user install another Air app from our site. The exception is created for the site and the Air plugin so even though it would be a different app, once they allowed the plugin on our site, we could launch the natively installed app after that.
I just discovered the Safari sandbox issue on Mavericks. I haven't tried either of these approaches on Safari yet. Is it the AdobeAAMDetect plugin in Safari settings that needs to be allowed?

  • How do I use home sharing for music and apps from different devices that already have Apple IDs?  We have music from CDs and iTunes.

We have a iPhone 3G used as an touch, a 4S and 2 5s that I would like to share the music and possibly the pictures but i dont know how to set it up since we all have our own Apple IDs.  Please help.

Do you have a computer. You can't share music or apps from one mobile device to another. To share photos you need to use photo stream shared albums.

  • Charged for downloading an App from Top Free

I got charged for downloading an App which is among the Top Free section. How can I get a refund?

So the entire time that you saw a price on the button and Buy on the button, you didn't realize that you would be charged?
The iWork apps are normally paid apps unless you qualify for them for free. And when you qualify to get them free, the button says free.
You will receive an emailed receipt for the purchase. Use the Report a Problem link to make your request for a refund. It may or it may not happen. Apple considers all sales final.

  • HTML Banner for Native Android App Builder

In the release notes it says
The HTML banner in the library has limited available APIs.
I don't even see a place in the app builder to define a banner.
We called Gold Support and they don't know anything about the new Native App Builder.
    Thanks,
    Darrin

I know that with Android the subscriptions are not supported but a header banner (static - no action linked) is important to see!
Client want a branded viewer - now is very poor!
Are there some news about this? Now i'm working with the new native Android app and i see that in the web builder (works very well!) there is not a field to upload a png. V31, V32?
    I use Professional

  • CustomeUpdateUI for native AIR app installer

    Hi,
We have a native installer for a windows and Mac AIR app.
For updates, we use the NativeApplicationUpdater code from:
    http://code.google.com/p/nativeapplicationupdater/
After an update has been downloaded and launched, AIR shows a dialong prompting the user to "Replace" or "Cancel"
    the update.
I would like to get rid of the dialog as this seems to include a redundant question for the user who chose to update from the first place.
I believe setting the <customUpdateUI> tag at the application decriptor file would hide the dialog, but that causes the update to just launch the existing app. How can I come up with custom logic that will cause the update to actually replace the existing app?
    Thanks,
    Eilon

It does have half an answer. SWFs can request loading AIR applications so they suggested embedding a SWF on the page which would be able to launch your AIR application. Your link would need to fire off some JavaScript to use the ExternalInterface with the SWF to relay your request inside the SWF.
If you really want it on Windows for example then you'll need to register your URI, the example should be self explainatory:

  • In search for a COMPLETE mobile from nokia

I have been a consistent nokia user, primarily due to its sturdiness.
3315 to 2600 to 2626 to 2700 classic to X2-02 to 206 ............. that has been my nokia graph .....
For long I have been looking forward to nokia for a dual-sim mobile with both 3G and wifi. Every new mobile that is declared, my hopes rise high, but gets shattered soon.
Also nokia has this annoying habit of discontinuing useful features in mobiles. Like X2-02 has a very useful feature called Play-via-Radio, I use it a lot while travelling by car, which is not continued in subsequent models. Also I miss the wireless FM and music buttons of X2-02 in other sets.
But, X2-02 in particular, does not support youtube streaming, while many lower models like 2700 classic does. I also miss a flashlight in X2-02. Is that too costly a feature?
Now, this 206 is playing youtube properly, but not getting connected to Ovi suite via bluetooth. It also misses above-mentioned features of X2-02.
Another major complaint against nokia, I had taken backup of contacts in X2-02, but being unable to restore the same in 206. Restoring backup requires the same model .... what the **bleep**!!!! I had damaged my X2-02, and using mobile-switch feature was not possible. Finally I had to manage another X2-02 from someone to do my contacts restore and then transfer using mobile switch. I am now experienced enough now to use https://www.phonecopy.com/en/ for backing up my contacts as CSV file. Really had a hard and tense time with *.nbf backup files.
When will team nokia learn to deliver a COMPLETE mobile?

It was and is never their goal to do that.

Only the top models do not offer this. Does this list help?

Please, go for the older Nokia Suite 3.6.36 …
    sujoysett wrote:

That FM transmitter was quite a unique feature for a Series 40 like this, even not very many (much more) expensive Symbian phones got that feature. ‘Alternatives’ are Bluetooth Stereo Music (A2DP) or the line-in jack.

  • Video Issues for Native YouTube app and all Web pages

    Hello,
I seem to have a problem with my Sprint Palm Pre. All of a sudden Im getting an error of 'there was an error playing the file' for ALL Youtube file using the Palm Pre Youtube app. As well as all of the we sites that were working a few weeks ago.
    Any ideas?
    thanks,

Have you tried a restart from device info, reset options? This will resolve many problems and is the first thing I would try. I have not heard of any problems with the YouTube app. I have tested the YouTube app on my own Pre Plus an it is working without any issues. Have you installed any 3rd party (homebrew) apps? Some times this can cause a problem with installed apps.

  • N8 problem when installing apps from Nokia Store

Hey guys! I have problem with my Nokia N8. Most of the time, when I try to install app on it using Nokia Suite on my PC, Suite says that app has just been installed correctly, but on the phone says "Downloading error" and the app doesn't exist. Same thing happened today when I tried to install Viber. Help please

I would suggest you try and update to the latest Ovi Store, now called Nokia Store.
With your phone's browser go to the following address:
    http://lr.ovi.mobi/store/new-symbian-3
you should then get the option to install the latest Nokia Store client, and this should include new QT files. Corrupt QT files are usually the problem when installations from the Nokia/Ovi Store fails.
