Voucher Nos. in SAP in Back Date on daily basis

Dear Experts,
My Client has a Requirement that: They want the voucher numbering on daily basis..
Suppose on 6-1-2011 they have made 1 to 100 nos. vouchers....
Now while making a voucher on 05-1-2011 (Back Date), they want the Voucher No. should be the last voucher No. + 1 of the date: 05-1-2011
So can voucher no. can be maintained on daily basis...??
Regards,
Nimish Agarwal

Hi ,
In SAP the number range runs on current number .
there is no provision of assigning logic of back date posting with a number which was generated last + 1 .
This is not possible , so explain to the client the concept of number ranges in SAP .

Dewang.

  • Back Date Storage location Stock / Subcontractor Stock

    Dear SAP Guru (s)
Please confirm can we get back date stock at storage location with value and quantity. Also tell me how can we take one subcontractor stock at any particular date.
We are using MB5B, but it is giving only quantity at storage location level and value at plant level.
    Full points if problem solved.
    Regards
    Ishu

Execute MB5B with special stock and O for special stock indicator, and then double click the material number, you can get all the material document NO.

  • Create Delivery, Billing and Excise Invoice no. in back date.

    Dear all,
i got sum problem with no. range in export excise invoicing,
therefore to avoid this i created export invoice thru' legacy system, now i want to create the same export order in sap system
how i create export order in back date as actual excise date lies in back date.
what certain changes i have to made in sap system in order to create Delivery, Billing and Excise Invoice no. in back date.
    Plz suggest
    Gaurav

Back date means how many months should be predated ?? You should be aware, you can post a document in SAP one month prior to current month but not before that. For example, now we are in August and you can post a document for July and not for June'10.
Apart from this, you need to have back dated stock in SAP to invoice and the periods (MM & FI) should be open for previous month.
    Dear Sir,
Back dates means 14 days back and in the same month August.
plz , explain what is back dated stock to invoice SAP

  • Goods Receipt in Back date

    Hello,
We have  closed the May month and started a running the business in SAP. But user saying  he wants to show the GR created in 01.01.2011 (Jan month) already closed that month.
He is forcing us,  it is possible to create on back dated, make it back date and allow him to do the GR ... As per SAP system only allow for one month back to do the GR.... If suppose i did the GR for January month then,, what are the implications hit after the GR .... and is it feasible to do the GR in back dated.
    Regards
    sapman man

Theoretically you could reopen an old period with MMPI, but  you may screw up the information from thousands of postings just to fix one. MMPI is usually used if someone closed a period accidently in the middle of the month, but not recommended to fix just one posting.
search the forum for MMPI , search OSS on MMPI  and read all the warnings

  • Can I use export my SAP created master data in a non-SAP system?

    Hello,
I am about to start a large integration solution with my SAP customer and they are concerned about licensing. What they want to do is export their GL, cost centre and WBS master data to an external system via integration (probably custom ABAP, or home built BAPI/RFC).  The external system then uses the accounting data to determine where to post FI or MM documents back into SAP via custom ABAP, BAPI or maybe IDOC).
Is this OK?  Are there any licensing issues with master data used externally and posted back in via custom ABAP or standard BAPIs/IDOCs?
    Thank you in advance,
    Geoff

    Hello Geoff,
Yes, even indirect access to SAP transactions or data needs to be licensed properly with SAP. Your customer should contact their SAP account rep to discuss the exact use case. Indirect access via certain types of certified integrations may qualify for Platform User License pricing, but there is no generic answer, and it is best for the customer to discuss their specific case directly.

  • Opening an asset in back date

    Dear All:
My question is regarding opening asset master data through AS01. When we open an asset it is saved with current date. But what if we want to open it in back date. let us say today is 2nd july 2010 but i want to open an asset back at 5th june 2010. Is it possible in SAP. Please suggest
    Regards

    Hi,
Which date are you talking about.
Both capitalization date and ordinary depreciation date are freely changeable fields.  First acquisition date is usually updated based on first transaction date.

  • Is SAP MDM master data search possible through Enterprise Search?

    Hi Everyone
I was looking at finding if the SAP MDM master data search is possible through Enterprise Search?
Is so, Please provide a bit of technical guide on the same.
    Regards
    Navneet

    Hi Navneet,
first releases of SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search featured a preliminary connector to federate SAP MDM's search functionality. However, as no object level access authorization control could be implemented on the current MDM APIs, we have discontinued to deliver that prototype connector. We will be back with access-authorization-controlled connectivity in one of the future releases.

  • Physical Inventory on Back Date

    Hi SAP Gurus,
We have a scenario, we have done physical inventory on Ist of this month and we have not updated the physical inventory in the system yet. Many material movement have also been posted since then. Now we want to post Physical Inventory in back date. But when we are posting physical inventory using T-code MI10, system updates inventory in current date. Inspite of mentioning counting date and document date 1.1.08.
    What should I do.
    Ishu

    hi,
as u r doing only formality  do the following.
simply create an phisical inventor documnet in MI01, and post the same in MI08- (here mention the actual stock physically available) and the posting date should be the date on which u want to be.
*physical inventory document  date should be lesser thhan or equal to posting date)

  • Posting period in back date (MMPV)

    Hello All,
Can i open the posting period in back date.
like my current opening period is 11 (01.02.2009) and perious posting period is 10 (01.01.2009).
can i open the 09 posting period, if yes then how, please tell.
i am using MMPV and MMRV.
    Thanks
    Pankaj Garg

    REOPEN THE PERIODS:
It is possible to re-open a previously closed period. However, it is NOT advisable to do so because the valuation data of the previous period could be affected.
In general, it is only safe to reopen a previously closed period when no material postings have been done after the period shifting to the new period.
If there has already been postings after the period shifting to the new period, reverting the period back will cause database inconsistencies in the history tables.
If you decide to proceed with this process, you can use the program RMMMINIT, but, please review the documentation of this program first!! and the check the SAP notes 487381 (for the error message that you are receiving) and the 369637 (for an explanation about the inconsistencies that will be generated.
    Steps are as below;
    Go to Transaction Code SE38
    Enter program name RMMMINIT
Execute or press F8 function button
Enter your company code (From and To)
Enter relevant date: Say 01/03/2008 for Mar. 2008 month to be opened as of now
That means, user can post for the month of Feb 2008 as well as Mar. 2008
Refer SAP Note No. 487381 for more details.
As per SAP Notes 487381 ( If the periods are opened in advance in mmpv to again change it to current period the following process should be follow ), Go to Tcode MMPI, then go to menu bar and select system -> user profile->owndata.In that screen , under the parameters tab enter MMPI_READ_NOTE in Parameter ID field and enter, then under short description you will get Initialise period. Next Save.
Again go to MMPI enter company code, period and year and execute.
Other way of doing it is follow these steps( But try this method in Sand box Only):
    1. Go to OX18, and delete the plants assigned to your CO.Cd and save.
    2. Go to OMSY and change the posting period to the one u want and save.
3.Go to OX18 and assign the plants you have deleted in step 1.and save.

  • Sales Flow on Back dates

    Hi all,
once we go-live, i need to enter all the sales orders to invoice data in sap( from legacy) i have tested the scenarion in quaility by changing the requested delivery date, PO date, billing date, Pl goods isue date etc manually to previous month. Every thing was fine. but when i see teh documetn flow, teh dates are showing todays rather than the previous date. is there any chance that i can change this too somewhere to back date.
    plz give me the solution.
    cheers,
    anil.

    Hi,
No way dear. Those dates are of system dates when you have created the documents. Those can only be chaged by changing at table level.
But any wat that does not make any difference if it remains as it is
    Reward points if useful

  • SAP BI back-end Vs SAP BO back-end

    Hi Friends,
Purchasing SAP software packages - bought SAP NW 2007s package (included SAP BI) and SAP BO XI suite (included Data Integrator (DI) as part of the BO XI package).
We have below scenarios and discussions around these scenarios - please advice the best practice/method:
    1. ECC - > SAP BI(back-end) for storing ECC and other legacy data->BO reporting tools like Crystal Reports, WebI, Xcelsius etc.,
    2. ECC -> BO(back-end) for storing ECC and other legacy data using DI for setting up the ETL process -> BO reporting tools like Crystal Reports, WebI, Xcelsius etc.,
    3. ECC ->use BI and BO as back-end system -> BO reporting tools like Crystal Reports, WebI, Xcelsius etc.,
Does anyone have reasoning to use both back-ends? The BI and BO packages include the back-end and I think it is up to the customer to choose either one as data warehouse system. Thinking that SAP may also have different package combinations to have either BI or BO back-end to use as data warehouse system which may reduce the license, implementation and maintenance cost.
When it comes to scenario 1 and 2 u2013 How BO ETL handles the massive data extractions, error handling, and parallel extraction and performance issues compared to SAP BI?
Please provide your thoughts in approaching the specific scenarios?  It would be great if you could also provide some web links precisely relevant to this discussion.
    Thanks,
    Sudha

    HI,
just to clarify: in the BusinesObjects Enterprise system you not storing data.
    1. ECC - > SAP BI(back-end) for storing ECC and other legacy data->BO reporting tools like Crystal Reports, WebI, Xcelsius etc.,
    >> for sure possible
    2. ECC -> BO(back-end) for storing ECC and other legacy data using DI for setting up the ETL process -> BO reporting tools like Crystal Reports, WebI, Xcelsius etc.,
    >> you would then use something that is called a Rapid Mart for example
    3. ECC ->use BI and BO as back-end system -> BO reporting tools like Crystal Reports, WebI, Xcelsius etc.
    >> yes.
Both backends have a different purpose. BusinessObjects is reporting and BW is a datawarehouse.
