  • Settings for order bom

    Dear All,
Can anyone tell me setting for order bom so that the order BOM is exploded in sales order and MRP can be carried out on this BOM
    Regards
    Prashant

    Hi,
Pls. find the details of Maintaining an Order BOM without Variant Configuration as below :
    Create an Order BOM :
    Prerequisites:
You have entered the sales order for which you want to create the order BOM.
    Procedure:
1.Choose Logistics ® Production ® Master data ® Bills of material ® Bill of material ® Order BOM ® Create.
The Create Order BOM: initial screen appears.
2.Enter the sales order number, the order item, the material number and the BOM usage.
If you want to use a material BOM, or an existing order BOM to copy from, go to step 4. If you want to create an order BOM without a reference, click  and go to step 7.
You cannot use a configurable BOM as a reference.
3.Click  Order BOM (copy order BOM) or  Material BOM (copy material BOM).
The Copy material BOM or Copy order BOM dialog box appears.
4.Enter the data required and click .
The item overview appears, for the bill of material you are using as a reference.
5.Select the items you want to copy to the order BOM and click .
The item overview for your new order BOM appears. The items you transferred are displayed in the item overview.
6.Enter new items and alter items if necessary. Entering items in order BOMs is similar to entering items in material BOMs. However, you cannot enter class items in order BOMs. You can find further information in the Bills of Material documentation in  Creating New Items.
    Save your order BOM.
Example: Creating Order BOM Without Variant Configuration :
The material BOM for material A contains components B and C, which are themselves assemblies. The material BOM for material C contains components D and E and the material BOM for material C contains components F and G.
A sales order is created for customer Smith, with the number 821. Material A is inserted under sales order item 10 in this sales order. At the request of customer Smith, for this sales order, the bill of material for assembly C is changed manually. Component H is added to components F and G. This change should not take effect in the material BOM, because assembly C is only expected to be produced once in this form, for customer Smith.
An order BOM is generated from the material BOM for material C. Since nothing was changed in the bills of material for materials A and B, in this sales order the material BOM will continue to be used for these assemblies.
    Hope this helps.
Revert if any doubt and reward if useful.
    Regards,
    Tejas

  • Process Order -Batch determination for a BOM material(same batch)

    Hi Friends,
    Thanks in advance.
Let us say, a material (ROH) has so many batches as A,B,C & D. Whenever we create a new process order, system has to pick only the particular batch( say -C here)  in the process order BOM through batch determination.  (during process order creation stage)
1.How to achieve the same ?
    2. What are the ways are there to achieve the same ?
3.Is there any Exit for this?
    Regards,
    Mani

    Hi Velmurugan & Vishwas,
    Thnaks for your feed back.
    1. Is there any other ways without batch classification ? ( Because there are so many material without MM-classification view.....and client wants without extending the Classification view for MM master as it suggests same batch for all GI for delivery & GR for purchase.....)...We want only for process order batch determination.....
    2. Is there any exit for this ?
    3. Is it possible through any kind of Characteristic assignment in the Sort sequence? How?

  • Sequence settings for importing DVD material

    Hi there!
I am about to start a new project that will be shown at a convention on a big screen via projector.
Basically, I have recieved DVD's from around the world that I am supposed to edit into a montage. So far I have been opening them using MPEG streamclip and converting them into Quicktime Files.
Can anyone recommend the best possible Sequence settings to use as well as what Frame Size and Compressor to use when exporting from MPEg streamclip to FCP?
    Thanks

use the sequence easy set-up for dv-pal (sweden is pal, yes?)
export your clips from streamclip using dv-pal as the type for PAL dvds.
for ntsc dvds, you need to pull the clips off as ntsc dv/dvcpro then using the advanced section of compressor, convert them to dv-pal.
mix by stirring lightly, put into a greased pan and place in a 350 degree oven for 30 minutes or until golden brown.

  • Best settings for 4:3 material to be displayed in widescreen

I'm creating a movie that will combine digital images and digital video captured in 4:3 aspect ratio.  The movie will be played on high def wide screen monitors that are capable of 1080i.  I've created several test movies and the images and video continue to be squashed or flattened.  Should I create the project in 4:3 ratio?  Should I burn the DV in widescreen format?  Any help is appreciated.

The will depend on first, how you wish the non-standard material to display and then on how the user's systems are set up.
In general, I would choose doing a 16:9 Project and then handle the 4:3 material with Motion>Scale and crop the top and bottom to suit, with a tiny hit on quality. This would give me the greatest control.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Goods Receipt of BOM material- cost centre required for components

I have created a subcontracting PO with a BOM material.
When trying to post a Goods Receipt the components of the BOM material are required to have a cost centre assigned to them.
The profit centre for the BOM material and components are the same. The BOM material does not require a cost centre to be entered in the Goods Receipt as the Profit Centre is allocated to account assignment tab.
Why does the profit centre assigned to the components not default in the account assignment, why is the system asking for a cost centre?

I receive this error when trying to post the material document:Field Cost Ctr is a required field for G/L account 1000 7023000200
    Message no. F5808
    Diagnosis
The value for field "Cost Ctr" in the interface to Financial Accounting is an initial value but you are required to make an entry in the field selection for G/L account "7023000200" in company code "1000" linked to the field selection for posting key "81".
    System Response
    Error
    Procedure
It might be an error in the configuration of the G/L account field selection. The initial application, used to call up the interface must otherwise define a value for field "Cost Ctr". If this is the case, contact the consultant responsible for the application used to call up the interface or get in contact with SAP directly.

  • 122 movement for a BOM

We have a subcontract PO set up where the material number is the top level of the BOM.  When we receive against this PO, the components pull into the GR as they should.  However, when we needed to return some of the material for rework and we used a 122 movement only the top level material number pulled into the material document.
Example:  material 12345 has components A and B
When a GR is processed, it includeds 12345, A and B
When the 122 return is processed it only includes 12345 and A & B aren't pulled in.
Should we use a different movement type for this?  We need something that we can print for the vendor and our 122 movements print on a custom form with the correct formatting.  If we simply used a 102 it wouldn't print in the format that we want.
Or...is there any way to do a 122 for a BOM material and have it pull in the components?

    Hi,
When you creatze return delivery in MIGO (mvt 122 + material document reference) the components can be reversed as well.
Please put a flag of the checkbox of the components and they will be reversed via mvt 544.
(directly after the line item number in MIGO there's an icon > click on that and it will show the components that were consumed by mvt 543 at the time of GR > if there were consumed components at the time of GR you should be able to reverese them with F-30 material together)
Do not reverse the components if they cannot be used again at subcontrator for production purpose.

  • Giving BOM material as free good in Sales Order

    Hi,
    I have a business requirement.
I want to give a free good in Sales Oreder which is a BOM material. This should be possible by manually changing Item category for the line item in the Sales Order just like how we can change TAN to TANN in normal circumsatnces when we add free good material for any NON BOM material.
In standard functionality, the item category determined for this BOM material is TAQ but this item category field in Sales Order is non editable because of which I can not include the BOM material as free good in my sales order.
I have already defined one z Item category for free goods for this BOM material & want to use it in Sales Order.
Can you please suggest how this can be handled ?
Or is there any other work around by which will allow me to include BOM material as free good in my Sales Order ?
    Thanks in advance
    Regards,
    BM

    Hi,
Thanks everyone for the feedback.I agree with Samir Danish. It is a standard functionality of SAP which does not allow free goods for BOM material.
However, can someone suggest work around to deal with this issue.I mean if any one has been doing any work around for this issue then please let me know.It s becoming critical for me.

  • Expectations for Return button

In all my time using DVD Studio Pro, I have never bothered to set the Return button for any menus. It seems to me like the only people (from among those I give DVDs to) who would use the Return button are those who use the Apple DVD Player and know about that button.
So my question is: what do they expect the Return button to do? For example, a DVD has a Main Menu, a Scenes 1 - 4 Menu, a Scenes 5 - 8 Menu and a Scenes 9 - 12 Menu. To get to the Scenes 5 - 8 Menu, a viewer has to first go to the Scenes 1 -4 Menu from the Main Menu. If they push the Return button while on the Scenes 5 - 8 Menu, would they expect to go back to the Scenes 1 - 4 Menu or be taken all the way back to the Main Menu?

The return button is better referred to as the Go Up button - it is intended to give you the ability to navigate through your menu hierarchy. However, it doesn't work, and is poorly implemented in DVDSP. Trai Forrester did a brilliant article on this years ago now (when DVDSP was version 2), but I doubt it is still on line. I took a copy of the text back then, and have copied it below - this is from the original 'DVDAfterEdit' website, and you may be able to find references to this issue on the current version (www.dvdafteredit.com).
    By Trai Forrester
+The return key is one of the most prominent keys on most DVD players' remote control. Unfortunately, authors have never been able to take advantage of it in DVD Studio Pro or DVD Maestro while playback of their DVD is in the Tracks. It's one of the disadvantages of these systems' "abstraction layer" automatic programming. DVDAfterEdit is designed to allow authors to remove those limitations.+
+This important remote key setting for the Tracks, had settings for the return key in DVD Studio Pro 1.x, but it was broken (didn't work). The settings for return key have been completely removed for the Tracks in DVD Studio Pro 2. You can script the return remote key in the menus in both versions of DVD Studio Pro, just not for the Tracks.+
+What the remote Return key does+
+The return key's official name is the "Go Up" remote control key. Basically, when the viewer presses the remote return key, they should be taken back (sent "Up"?) to the last place they were; in this example we'll be going over here in a bit, the viewer should be returned to where they were before entering the Track.+
+Projects that could benefit from the return key being programmed for all the Tracks, are those that are navigation intensive; meaning you have lots of menus and Tracks, and you want to provide the viewer with all available means of getting around the disc.+
+Just so you know, there are project types that you wouldn't want to program the return key for the Tracks, and that's when you want the players LED to display the running time of the show, or you have the need to synch playback of multiple DVD players with a hardware display controller that depends on this timing information. A quirk in the DVD specification, having to do with a thing called "non sequential PGCs" (PGC stands for "Program Chain"), which you have to create if you want the Next, Previous, and GoUp remote keys to "do something", other than link to the next or previous program, in the case of the next and previous remote key, while playback is in the Track, disables the player's ability to display the running time and chapter numbers of the Track asset. There'll be more on this concept of "one sequentialness or not" for PGCs in the Title domain in the manual, and I'm sure we'll cover it thoroughly in the discussions.+
+DVD Studio Pro 2 does allow programming of the Next and Previous keys of the remote control for the Tracks in the Connections window, just not the Return key. So, if you do set the Next or Previous remote keys for the Track to jump somewhere, usually to the next Track or maybe a menu; know that you won't get chapter or timing information from the DVD Players LED for that Track on most DVD players (It doesn't violate the spec to have chapters in the mult-PGC Titles, so you can still use them, the player will just not display them in their readouts).+
+But for those projects that require the return key to be programmed for the Tracks, and if you work with clients this will be a request periodically; this article will show you how easy it is to do in DVDAfterEdit. As a matter of fact, it just takes a minute to implement, and we won't touch DVD Studio Pro 2's automatic programming at all.+
+Now, that doesn't mean you won't decide to implement some other neat authoring strategy, that might call for the need (desire? to remove DVD SP 2's commands and start from scratch; completely reauthoring the whole project in DVDAfterEdit! But if all you need is to program the return key for the Tracks in your project, then you can accomplish this quickly.+

  • Provision for sevices entry cost  addit in BOM material

    Hi GURU's
I client want to services cost is also to be added to the material production cost as with the BOM.
ex. suppose production qnty. is 100 ton& BOM materials qnty & cost is suppose 10 & 100/-. and the services charges (cost) is suppose 100/- per ton then the cost of services  is appended on the Production material with BOM material cost.
Is thier any provision to append services cost on the production material against process order.

    Hi
There is no direct link between Movement type and Cost element G/L account. It is not advisable to change the standard movement type 261 for BOM components for GI in OPKA.
The possible way to have a new G/L account in BOM cost element field as per u r requirement is to create new valuation class and assign it to Material master of u r Non stock material in Accounting view
    Steps
    1) Create a new valuation class say ZVCL in OMSK and complete all relevant settings
    2) Now in OBYC > GBB > for VBR >for New Valuation class ZVCL > Assign G/L AC no say xxxxxx in Debit and Credit columns
    3) Then Assign this valuation class in Material Master.
    4) Now chk the G/L account in BOM as u mentioned and observe it as xxxxxx
