[Vox] Schedule doesn't record...

OK, I've reloaded the MSIPVS v3 software and drivers from the main site so many times that I have almost memorized my serial number... I can watch TV just fine, the remote control works, I can record on demand and timeshift, I can even populate my schedule from the Titan web. The VOX is plugged into the AC adaptor.
The problem I have is that the schedule tool wakes up a minute before the start time, changes the channel (usually), and starts the audio to my computer. And that's it. The MSIPVS/MSIDVR program doesn't launch, and nothing gets recorded. If the MSIPVS program is already open, nothing happens.
I see from the other posts here that I'm not the only one with this problem, but I don't see anybody offering a consistent solution. I've loaded the software on my default/system drive (C:), got the drivers and software latest versions and got them to load (hint to new users: don't use anything from the CD other than the serial number).
Does anybody have some thoughts on how to get the scheduler to do more than just open the sound channel?
tg.

when i purchased this card, i downloaded latest drivers and MSIPVS 3 and installed them. the latest MSI Radio program that i downloaded and installed, simply crashs when i start it. looks like they programmed it in MFC. i am also facing the same schedule problem. i have tried many time but it never record anything. however, i am able to record when i manually record it.
i am a programmer. i can program in MFC. if they (MSI) open source the software then i can try to remove the bugs in MSI Radio and MSIPVS 3 and put it here or on any open source site so everyone can use it for free. if they can't then please remove these bugs. and please don't tell me to unistall/re-install or "forget this card and buy our new card". if you can't update the software (to remove bugs) then please open source it.

  • Cannot schedule a series recording for a programme...

10pm Channel 4 Sunday Peep Show
The first in a new series but when I try to series record this message comes up. "Cannot schedule a series recording for a programme that's not a series"
Trying from episode 2 works fine but not episode one. This has happened with several programs recently. The first episode even has the option when you press the "i" button to Record Series but you can't series record from episode one.
I'm sure it was the same with Homeland and Hatfields & McCoys.
It's not a major issue but why does it happen?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I did think that. However it still does it when there is more than one episode listed in the EPG. That's how i know there's a problem. It clearly shows a series listed but episode 1 doesn't allow series record but episode 2 does.
I've just deleted both the single recording for ep 1 and the series recording for ep 2 - so NO episodes are set to record and there is NO series recording set.
It still won't series record from ep 1 (even now ep2 appears in the EPG) but...
if ep1 is NOT set to record and I series record ep2 it also adds ep1 to the list of episodes to record.
So ep2 knows ep1 is part of the series BUT ep1 thinks its a stand alone episode......
    As i say nothing major....

  • EP6.0 SPS16, scheduler doesn't start

    Hi.
we have some troubles with portal scheduler on the EP 6.0 SPS16, PATCH2 CM&Coll SPS16 (non-cluster environment).
Because of some reasons the portal sheduler doesn't work.
In Monitoring->Knowledge Management->Component Monitor is just the error message
    -Scheduler
Startup Error:  scheduler: runtime exception during
    start up: null
    -Ice
    Configuration Error:  com.sapportals.wcm.WcmException:
    Scheduler service not available

startup failed : class=com.sapportals.wcm.service.scheduler.SchedulerService, uri=crt://runtime/services/SchedulerService, exception: com.sapportals.wcm.crt.component.StartupException: scheduler: runtime exception during start up: null
I have tried to assign the correct CM ID to each scheduler task and many other things but nothing helps.
The company changed the name of windows domain and also the EP was connected to LDAP. It could be the reasons why the scheduler doesn't work.
Maybe there is some authentication problem or problem with some portal repository.
Does anybody have some idea how to solve it?
    Thank you!

  • Scheduler doesn't create Jobs

    Hello folks!
We have scheduled some reports with BI Publisher Scheduler in our Development Enviroment and works very fine. But when we passed that reports to Prod Enviroment, BI Publisher scheduler doesn't create any Job (verified in Report Job History and XMLP/QRTZ tables in Database Schema that isn't any Job created). There isn't any error, exception or message, only scheduler doesn't create Jobs.
Any idea, solution or way to find any trail about that problem?
Thanks for your preciated time spent in our issue.
    Best Regards,
    Martín

I am also facing same issue with BI Publisher Scheduler but showing below mentioned error while creating new job.
    Error
"Job submission failed : Error occurred while scheduling the job. org.quartz.ObjectAlreadyExistsException: Unable to store Job with name: '-1' and group: 'weblogic', because one already exists with this identification."
    Cheers.

  • Scheduled Recordings not recording

Why are my scheduled recordings not recording.  Sometimes the record light is on lilke it is but if I check my show is not listed.  This goes for movies as well as series recordings.

You could try using other TV software, but that may not work either as it looks like your broadcaster is protecting some programmes to prevent recording, for copyright reasons.

i've a iMac 27', summer of 2012, and my garageband doesn't record by the internal microphone, what can I do, to resolve this problem?
only for contextualize, in other softwares the microphone record correctly like quicktime, or in facetime, even photobooth. but in garage band not.
i dont know if its a problem of the software, an error of actualization, or a bad configuration. please give me a hand.
    cheers.

Did you choose the mic as the input device in Garageband Preferences?

  • Scheduling a screen recording on your Mac

I often would like to view a webinar related to personal finance or my profession, but cannot as I am committed to attend a meeting or there is some time conflict. Is there a way to schedule Quicktime to start recording a screen recording of my Macintosh computer's screen much like one can schedule a DVR recording for one's t.v.? I have a desktop Mac that has Quicktime
at home. I have been thinking of getting an Apple laptop that I could just take to work so that I can turn on the screen recording and stop it when the webinars is through. But perhaps there is some software I am not aware that I could use in conjunction with Quicktime, or a feature of Quicktime I am not aware of? Thanks for any suggestions.

  • My ipad 3rd generation doesn't record video or audio, nor does it play any media?

My iPad doesn't record. When I press the record button on the video camera it does nothing. When i try to watch a youtube video, it doesn't play it and the same with music on my playlist. When i press play it just switches to the pause button for a split second and then switches back to the play button. Can anybody please help?

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after the iPad shuts down, then press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds). Ignore the "Slide to power off"

I just downloaded ios 7 and when I'm recording video the camera screen goes black and doesn't record anything. Also in control centre music control doesn't work sometimes. It's been three days.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:

  • Scheduler fails to record

I've been having lots of trouble with the scheduled recording feature with the TV @nywhere Master.  I'm using the MSIPVS software from their site with the new drivers from their site as well.
I've got a number of shows programmed.  When the time comes for it to record MSIPVS start running but it doesn't change the channel to the programmed channel and it doesn't start recording.
I setup all these recordings a while ago and I've since then reinstalled all the drivers and software etc.  When I installed msipvs it had all the programs still in there.
I've also had issues with the msipvs simply not starting at the specified time or recording the wrong channel etc.
    My system is:
    Athlon 1.2 - Abit KT7A
    Geforce 4MX 440 w/tv out
    Win XP SP1

In order for you to get a balanced response, I am going to try to make a
case for you to stick with MSIPVS. I'll deal with your problem
resolution at the bottom of the post and you are welcome to skip there
immediately because what's in-between may try your patience.
Conio writes about quality. That's very subjective, and whether or not
the quality is acceptable really depends on what the target use of the
created video file is. If you were recording a TV program for one-time
viewing, lesser quality may be acceptable. If you were capturing your
VHS tapes for editing and archiving to DVD, that's an entirely different
matter. Quality is reflected in a video picture with good resolution,
very little artifacts, and a good stereo soundtrack that is in synch
with the video. This typically requires the video to be recorded as
close to full frame as possible (which in my case NTSC is 640 x 480 at
29 frames/sec). How close you get to this ideal depends on the
processing power of your computer and whether the video file is being
created in real-time or as a result of post-processing.
The other issue to consider is file size. Nothing in life is free so,
the better the quality of the result, the larger the video file. The
challenge that Conio poses is that, capturing video with Virtual VCR and
compressing the file with XviD (MPEG-4) plus using a deinterlace filter,
results in a smaller file that is as good or better than the MPEG-2 file
created by MSIPVS. Whether or not file size is an issue depends on your
hard drive size. With low cost 160 GB hard drives, DVD-R/RW writers and
media, becoming standard fare, that may not be an issue for you.
You did not post your configuration, so it is difficult to predict how
succesful you will be at creating a quality video file using any
program. However, Conio's signature indicates he is running a PC with a
Duron 600 with 256 MB memory. He can't really be describing his
experience creating video files on that computer. I challenge anyone to
capture real-time video, pre-process with a deinterlace filter, compress
it with a non-hardware coder on a lower power cpu, and end up with anything viewable, least of all worthy of the word quality.
I will compare my experience with both MSIPVS and Virtual VCR on a 2.4
GHz Hyperthreading PC with 512 MB memory. The comparison is based on
video files created by MSIPVS at the "best" setting (MPEG-2 avi file,
with MPEG-1 layer II audio, and 640 x 480 frame size and 29.7 frames /
sec), and Virtual VCR set to similar characteristics but using XviD
(MPEG-4) compression and a deinterlace filter. Since Virtual VCR is free
and readily available, you should be able to duplicate these tests on
your PC setup by adjusting your "quality" to compensate for your
    computing power.
A 1 minute video capture using MSIPVS at the "best" setting results in
an avi file about 51 MB in size, whereas the XviD file will be about 22
MB. That means an MPEG-2 file requires roughly 2.5 the hard drive space
of an XviD compressed file. Let's assume you have about 40 GB free on
your hard drive (anything less and we should not be talking video capture
at all), that would mean you could record 14 hours of MPEG-2 with MSIPVS
or 32 hours of MPEG-4 with Virtual VCR. Is this an issue for you?
(Before I forget, you can also do MPEG-4 with MSIPVS if you are so
    inclined.)
Let's consider quality. You may get better quality playback if you use a
third program like DScaler, but for a fair comparison, let's compare
playback using the same programs that created the video file.
The MSIPVS avi file using the default values for recording at the "best"
setting is very good, with little in the way of artifacts, and good
resolution. Most important of all, audio and video is in synch. Since
the viewing window and player controls are separate, it is easy to
extend your desktop, slip the viewing window off the main monitor
desktop into the extended desktop, full screen the picture, and redirect
the playback to a real TV connected to your video card. You might want
to do this rather than sit in front of your computer monitor to watch
your recorded program. If you did this and compared the MSIPVS created
file with the same channel source on the real TV, you would not be able
to tell the difference, that's how good the picture is.
The Virtual VCR picture has some visible artifacts and not quite as good
resolution. (Again this is a subjective evaluation and Conio may have a
different standard of quality. Do the tests and come to your own
conclusion.) The quality can be improved by optimizing XviD parameters,
but any improvement will come at the cost of a higher processing
    requirement and more dropped frames.
Ahh, dropped frames! The biggest problem is that the video and audio are
out of sync. You'll think that you are watching a bad English dubbed
version of a Japanese Godzilla movie. There are some Virtual PC
techniques you can use in real-time that will compensate for an out of
sync start and compensate for sync problems that get worse, the longer
you record, but they sure didn't work for me. The reason for the sync
problem is that if the processor cannot keep up with the video, frames
are dropped while the audio continues to be recorded real-time. This
results in the video getting shorter and shorter and not in the same
"place" as the audio. Most people use other black magic tools to post
process the avi file to increase the video or decrease the audio portion
to try to get them back in sync, with variyng degrees of success. But,
unless you are planning to archive the file to DVD, you are probably not
interested in spending additional time to post-process the avi file.
Life is too short for this!
Oh and by the way, how many programs other than MSIPVS do effective time
    shifting?
If this hasn't convinced you to give MSIPVS a chance, don't bother with the
    rest of this post.
If you are still with me, none of this means squat, if your scheduled recording function is important and does not work.
I should let you know that I have spent about four months to get this program to work reliably and my experience with the recording function is limited. However, lets make some reasonable deductions. In the four months that I have searched high and low on the Internet for solutions to my MSIPVS problems, I have not come across record scheduling issues with MSIPVS, except for those posted by Conio and you. So maybe I wasn't thorough enough. Or maybe this is not really an MSIPVS problem but just a very unique PC configuration, or maybe it's the way you are using the program. Most problems like this have a solution, you just have to do some digging.
As soon as I read your post, I started digging. Since I had limited
MSIPVS recording experience I proceeded to do a number of tests. Each
test consisted of setting up multiple short 5 min. record events,
changing a few variables each time to try to deliberately break the
scheduling process. Couldn't do it! I did come across one bug however,
if you start a recording event at the same time as another one ends, the
MSIPVS log records the event as having been completed, when in fact it
was not succesful. For example, let's say you schedule one recording
event to start at 1:30 for thirty minutes and another starting at 2:00,
the second recording event will start and immediately stop, creating
only a 0 byte avi file.
In order to analyse problems like this it is necessary to clarify
generalities like "the scheduled event does not start", or "does not set
the right channel". Do we mean all the time, some of the time, most of
the time? Relating how often these happen to when they happen, can lead
to an explanation. What I would do is this: schedule some short (5 min)
near time (in 5 min) recording events so that you can observe first hand
what is happening and change some of the variables each time. For
example, set the schedule and exit MSIPVS for one test. Repeat the test
but don't exit MSIPVS. Repeat the tests using different channels for
each event. Try different recording qualities (good, better, best). Set
the input in MSIPVS to something other than the TV tuner, and repeat
tests with scheduler correctly set for TV tuner input. Make note of
results for each test. Look for a pattern. See if any of these tests
result in your observed symptoms. Keep in mind that the symptom of
MSIPVS not starting at the required time and not switching to the right
channel might be two unrelated symptoms.
Questions I have are: Other than the scheduling problems, are
there any other problems that you have with MSIPVS that would have a
bearing? I mean, I assume that you have been able to autoscan
successfuly all the available channels on your antennae or cable, and
get good picture and audio. That you can change channels correctly
    manually.
Conio mentions having problems with MSIPVS when his PC goes into
standby. Good point. Do you have your PC setup with power saving
settings that result in your PC going into standby, hibernation,
whatever you want to call it. Whether or not a running task can recover
from a PC going to sleep will depend on the motherboard and operating
system you have. This is not an MSIPVS problem; you'll have the same
problem with any scheduler that runs in background. Unfortunately, you
can't have your cake and eat it too. Do some long time tests, with
various power saving settings and see if any of them trigger the
    symptoms.
Another thing to be aware of is WinScheduler MUST be an active task to
be effective. There are two ways that WinScheduler can be started. The
installation of MSIPVS puts WinScheduler in the Windows Startup folder
which should result in the program starting at boot. If WinScheduler is
not active, starting MSIPVS will result in WinScheduler being started,
and remaining active after MSIPVS exits. If you are like me and try to
fool Mother Nature by removing WinScheduler from the Startup Folder
because you just don't like tasks occupying memory and using cpu cycles
when they don't do a whole lot usefull, you are going to run into the
embarassing situation where you schedule recording activities and then
you have a planned or unplanned reboot of your PC, later you start up
MSIPVS, look at your scheduler activity and, lo and behold, nothing was
recorded. You check your task manager, and there's WinScheduler. Bad
    WinScheduler!
Please post your results to help anyone visiting this forum with similar
    symptoms.
Whew! Made it to the end. I warned you. Gonna go for a beer.

  • On screen keyboard doesn't record properly

I've been using Soundtrack but decided I wanted to make my own music and not just use loops./ I bought the Apple Certified training book and am working through the lessons. I'm already all the way up to lesson 2 and things aren't working the way the book says they will. If I try to record using the on screen keyboard, it only seems to work in areas where there are no other music (ie tracks). In other words, if I try to record (on a new track that I created) with other tracks already present, it doesn't work! If I press a key in non recording mode, it turns gray and the sound persists as long as the key is depressed. If I press a key under the above circumstances, it stays gray for a nanosecond and records about 1 beat! What gives?
    Steve

I don't know about your specific problem, but I want to point out that if you are going to record any music that requires playing on a keyboard, you are going to need to purchase an actual music keyboard with a USB or FireWire interface.
The GarageBand on-screen keyboard and the "music typing" are not intended for recording anything. They are just intended to let you audition the Real Instrument sounds and tinker with them if you don't have a music keyboard plugged in.
There is no way you can play anything musically useful on an on-screen keyboard! If you could, then professional pianists would just use a mouse and a computer. But they don't--they need an actual keyboard. For instance, there is no way to play chords with a mouse. You can only click on one key at a time.
You can get an entry-level 4-octave music keyboard with USB for around $100. I recommend the investment.

  • Create a UM mailbox that does not receive mails and doesn't record voicemails

    Hi,
I want to create special UM mailboxes that only serve as announcements. These mailboxes should NOT receive any mails but more importantly, should not offer to record any voicemail.
I found several resources online to achieve part of what I want, but I can't find a way to create a mailbox (or auto-attendant) that does not accept to record voicemail.
Could any one help me out with that? Is it possible at all?
    I'm running Exchange 2010.
Thank you very much in advance.

    Let me clarify my request.
I want an emergency announcement number. I have an internal number, let's say 950. I want to be able to forward calls to that internal extension, and when people call it, I want them to hear an announcement that says, for example "office is exceptionally
closed today", then does NOT offer to the caller to record a message. It can hang up, or simply stay silent until the caller hangs up, that doesn't really matter.
This was a very easy thing to do on the old Cisco Unity voicemail system I am used to. Now that I'm discovering Unified Messaging, I have been struggling with that for hours.
I have found this article on technet blog which goes exactly in the direction I want:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/ucedsg/archive/2010/04/12/office-closure-and-exchange-unified-messaging.aspx
It says in the opening paragraph: "This scenario also needs to be configured so that the Mailbox which is setup for this is not setup to accept any voicemail messages."
This is EXACTLY what I need but problem: the issue is not addressed at all in the blog post! Or I am missing something obvious.
Thank you for your help :)

  • Adobe captivate scheduling parameters for recording via a program schedular

Hi, I have 3 PC's running slide shows in 3 lecture rooms. I need to schedule the PCs to run Captivate 4, start and stop recordings and save the recorded file. Hopefully without me having to touch them untill the end of the day.
I have a sheduling program that is capable of the load required and the ability to add the paramaters to do the functions I would like done eg. start and stop recordings and save the recorded file.
I cant find anywhere the parameters required to do this or an example of someone else having done so.
Any help would be extemely appreciated.

    Hi there
Unfortunately, I've never heard of or seen such a thing.
One possiblity would be to acquire a copy of a product called Macro Express and try that.

  • SSRS report email Scheduling omit zero record

Is that a way to omit zero record for SSRS report email scheduling?
That means if zero record happened it shouldn't trigger emailing.

    Hi SAMSUNG TECH,
Per my understanding that you don't want to send the scheduled email subscription if the report have no data, right?
I have tested on my local enviroment that you can modify the commend in the job step include some condition to send the email or not.
Detials information in below for you reference:
Open SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) to connect to Database Engine ->expand SQL Server Agent->expand Jobs, double-click the Job.
you can use query below to find the Subscription you have just created and the “ScheduleID” in the table is equal to the Jobs Name.
    use ReportServer;
    SELECT USR.UserName AS SubscriptionOwner
    ,SCH.ScheduleID
    ,SCH.NextRunTime
    ,SCH.LastRunTime
    ,SCH.EndDate
    ,SCH.EventData
    ,SUB.EventType
    ,SUB.SubscriptionID
    ,SUB.ModifiedDate
    ,SUB.[Description]
    ,SUB.DeliveryExtension
    ,SCH.Name AS ScheduleName
    ,CAT.[Path] AS ReportPath
    ,CAT.[Description] AS ReportDescription
    FROM dbo.Subscriptions AS SUB
    INNER JOIN dbo.Users AS USR
    ON SUB.OwnerID = USR.UserID
    INNER JOIN dbo.[Catalog] AS CAT
    ON SUB.Report_OID = CAT.ItemID
    INNER JOIN dbo.ReportSchedule AS RS
    ON SUB.Report_OID = RS.ReportID
    AND SUB.SubscriptionID = RS.SubscriptionID
    INNER JOIN dbo.Schedule AS SCH
    ON RS.ScheduleID = SCH.ScheduleID
    ORDER BY USR.UserName
    ,CAT.[Path]
    2.  Select "Steps" on the left pane on the Job Properties window.
    3.  Click Edit button in the bottom of the window and then change the command
    Existing command is:
    EXEC [ReportServer].dbo.AddEvent @EventType='TimedSubscription', @EventData='9be28f07-3784-4070-802a-b7ca0aec4c7c'
Change the command as below: (Remember to check the Database Name and table name):
    If exists
    (Select top 1 * from [DBName].TableName )
    EXEC   [ReportServer].dbo.AddEvent @EventType='TimedSubscription',   @EventData='9be28f07-3784-4070-802a-b7ca0aec4c7c'
    BEGIN
    END
Note: Change the @EventType and @EventData to the values in your job,the value of this two fields can be found by execute the query in step1.
