VP Red - help please

Hello,
I am now seeing our VP as red - last month it was Amber
Code: SLSWY
County: Lincolnshire
Colour: Amber 20CN VP capacity at this exchange is currently showing as Amber.
20CN virtual paths: Amber
BT is reporting that some of the 20CN virtual paths at this exchange are not operating within BT Wholesale's planning guidance, although they are still operating within the product specification. At busy times, your ADSL connection may operate at a reduced speed, although not all customers on your exchange may be affected. You should only contact support if there is no current ETA date set.
The ETA fix time is: Not provided by BT

As from the last week this is now RED - which asidse from a gif of a flame, i think is bad correct?
We have been with two providers and with both the same slow speeds during peak time (think dial up speeds). Our provider has advise this is outside their obligation to us.

This is a forum for customers of BT Retail our ISP.  there is no contact from here to openreach or wholesale  it is your ISP you need to complain to and they in turn should be pushing wholesale to upgrade the exchnage

    Try a Restart.
    Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
    Resetting your settings
    You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.
    Resetting your device
    Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Apple recommends this only if you are unable to restart it.
    Or if this doesn't work and nobody else on the blog doesn't have a better idea you can contact Apple.

    Have you tried disconnecting and re-connecting to your network ?. And when you say rebooted do you mean a reset ? If not then try that : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
    You could also try closing those apps completely. From the home screen (i.e. not with any of those apps 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the iTunes, App Store and iBooks apps to close them, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.

    You have to restore and thus erase your iPod. that is how it works.
    Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

    Try this first.
    Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Data. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
    If that doesn't work, reboot the iPad - or quit all apps and restart.
    Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
    Quit all apps completely and restart the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Restart the iPad.

  • Linux 9.0 and j2re-1_4_2_06 or jre-1_5_0_01 HELP Please!

    I have just started using Linux 9.0, and immediately installed the Firefox Web Browser and to get the best out of this installed j2re-1_4_2_06, made the link to the plugin as required and found Firefox did not seem to recognize it. I then tried to install Limewire and was informed that I could not as no jvm was installed.
    I upgraded to jre-1_5_0_01 and did the same with the plugin after deleting the one installed at my previous atempt and Firefox will not start at all in the desk top and if run in a shell it just opens a shell window and closes it again. I tried to install Limewire again and was told the same no jvm message.
    Can someone help please?

    I have now deleted all plugins from the fiefox plugin directory but just by clicking move to trash on a right click, I then put all of them back using the cut on right click and used the rm command in terminal
    to delete them all.
    I should say that I use Red Hat 9.0 here not Linux 9.0,.
    I then installed the Self-extracting Binary File and end up with the same problem, the only difference is that I installed it to my home folder, not /usr/java and I still get the same message.

    Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. Maybe this will let the iPad reboot and then you may need to restore again but see if this helps to start the iPad first.

  • Photos show as pdf's-Help Please!!

    All my photo files show up as PDF'S. The icons for all the photos on my hard drive are pdf's. ( the red adobe icon) This includes e-mails of word docs- they also must be opened with adobe reader.. I have to save as-then open with Adobe reader in order to view any photo on my computer. I have unstalled and reinstalled several times but it stays the same. I called adobe but after 40 minutes on hold I will try this. I have win 7. Can anyone help please? Thank you!

  • 1616 screen goes black - Help please

    I have just bought a new Nokia 1616. I have worked through all the settings but cannot find the one to stop it turning the screen off after a few minutes of non-use.  The screen goes black and so you don't know if it is switched on or not.  Ideally I would like it to show the clock like my previous model 1600 did.  Help please.

    If you press on the red phone button the time will display on the screen if the phone is on. It will also show you if the phone is locked or not by showing a small key. Press the menu button and the * key as usual to unlock.

Then connected external soundcard?to the notebook USB-USB as per manual. I have tried Creative's Smart Recorder but it shows no sound coming through on Analysis (same with Audiograbber software too). Sound card diagnostics show sound card OK and I can plug in headphones and get output. I am thinking hardware connection issue as I connected direct from turntable to microphone input &?got loud mike low quality recording but I ustand this is not recommended as can blow sound card (and poor receording anyway)?Is there another device I can easily plug into line in to test - or any other ideas gratefully received.

    Have you tried by installing www.asio4all.com drivers and then by using some?ASIO capable recording software as like Kristal, VSTHost, Reaper, etc (there are many others available)?jutapa

    In premiere pro, there is no 480p profil ! strange! why ?.. very disturbing !!
    Then i select the avchd 1280p and decided to change the parameters preview to 854x480 and save the profil :

  • HELP PLEASE!!! Computer won't start up

    My computer won't start up, when I click the start up button the light comes only once, sounds click (once) and that's it, no power up.
    Because of the age, I knew that the battery could be the reason, so I ordered the exact same battery and replaced it today (following the instructions very carefully). Nothing changed. Then I read about the button for resetting the power management (the one below the ram memory), did that too...and nothing.
    I read the manual, it talks about recently installed components (which I have not) and explains the meaning of the numbers of blinks the power light makes with this type of failure, 2 blinks=ram memory, 3 blinks...4 blinks..more than 5 blinks= take it to service.
    If somebody could please help me, I would really appreciate

    I had similar problems with my G5 2ghz dual PPC. Mine would turn on, sometimes the startup chime would sound, sometimes not. The fans would run and continue to run faster and faster until I shut it off.
    The red light comes on by the way, when the internal plastic shield is not installed or seated correctly.
    Anyway, I determined after fooling with the machine for several hours that the symptoms pointed to the video card so, on a hunch, I grabbed a hair drier, pulled the video card and warmed up the video card with the drier. Then reinstalled the video card, hooked up the monitor and hit the power button. Bingo, the machine booted normally. BUT, it would intermittently hang or act odd while running so, I ordered a replacement video card. Installed it and the problem never returned. Sadly someone stole the machine last month but it was in perfect working order at the time:(

  • VIRUS PROBLEMS, HELP PLEASE???

    I continue to have messages popping up saying my computer is infected. It wants me to cleanup and I have to register with Mac Shield 2.6.  Pronograhic websites keep popping up.  Anyone having this problem?  Did not have this problem yesterday, but it's here today!  There is also a Red Sheild on the top of the toolbar where it shows the time, battery life, etc.  Right clicking on the sheild drops down Scan Now, Cleanup, Control Center, Scan, System Info, Settings, About, and Register.  A pron site just popped up again!  Need help Please!!

    Your exactly right, it is possible that if you visit a site and need the scripts to run for something that the malware that uses Javascript is on that site, then your going to be presented with it.
    The thing is with the Firefox + NoScript combination defeats alot of the web side trickery the malware authors are using to get the malware to appear in the first place.

    As a example, I surf thousands of web pages a day, some on really nasty sites, yet I haven't seen this "MacDefender" appear on my computer. Even when I purposely visited links that people have submitted that had the malware. (I maintain a couple of bootable clones of my boot drive just in case)
