VPC 7.0 Using a different user

I just got VPC 7.0 and I installed it in my iMac G5. I installed it while I was as an administrator user but, I want to use VPC as a regular user. Do I have to install VPC again to used it as a regular user?

In the Administrator's Documents is a folder called Virtual PC List.
Copy this folder to the other user's Documents folder.
Start VPC and you should be able to access the Virtual PC.
Or create a new Virtual PC and install XP.

Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you want to access SharePoint list from Java application through REST.
In some cases you may need to create a new access token (this is somewhat akin to "running as a different user").
Essentially, you are using a different user's security context. Typically, you would create an Active Directory account specifically for this purpose and then grant appropriate rights to the user account in SharePoint.

Using a different user(other than default PI user) with adapter module

Hi,
We are having a custom adapter module built to interact with a Hardware Security Module(HSM). This custom adapter module by default uses a PI user configured in the system. However, we are not able to pass commands to HSM because of insufficient authorizations to this PI user. Now, we do not exactly know the permissions required for the user to access HSM. We have asked the HSM support team about the same. However, I wanted to explore the possibility of using a different PI user to work with the adapter module and eventually pass commands to HSM.
We have an admin user configured which has all the necessary authorizations. Is it possible to use this admin user created on PI system to work with adapter module so that it passes commands to HSM?

Running External jobs in Oracle 10g using a different user ID

i would like to run an external job ( shell script ) in oracle scheduler using a Unix user id other than nobody and oracle. is it possible to do that? if so please provide more information. I am currently using oracle version 10.2.0.4.0

Sure,
no problem at all, if you have no problem with the fact that all jobs that run from your ORACLE_HOME use the same account. I would prefer to upgrade to 11.1.0.7 and use the new remote exteral jobs with credentials.
For oracle 10g you have to modify $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/externaljob.ora and change the run_user and run_group to what ever you want to use.

Configuration File using a different user id and Password

Hi,
I have a SSIS package that I have deployed to various environments and was able to successfully run. The last environment causes some problems. At first I thought that it was a connection issue with SQL Server. I attempted to change the
user id and password for the db in the configuration file and am still getting errors.
When I attempt to connect to the db using those same credentials, I can log in to the database.
Any idea's what to look for? Is there anything else I can try?

"Connect to Server" using a different user

Hi,
When I want to connect to a share on another Mac on my local network I use the Finder's "Go->Connect to Server" command.
I am always prompted for a username/password when I do this. Is there a way to cache this information somehow so it always knows which account info I want to use?

You have the option to add the password to your keychain.
Just check the 'remember password in keychain' option.

Manage AUDIT using different user

Dear Friends ,
I have to run audit trail in my production database which only gathered user session related information . I just run following two lines as 'SYS' user :
SQL> conn sys/password as sysdba
SQL> audit session whenever successful;
Audit succeeded.
SQL> audit session whenever not successful;
Audit succeeded.
Now, I get all audit related information in AUD$ table as SYS user . But I dont want to use AUD$ table in system tablespace .
Instead of using the AUD$ table , I like to use a different user like AUDIT1 (which is created in different tablespace) who holds a different table like AUD$ and also keeps all the session realted information like AUD$ table . Is it possible to do ?

If you are going to make auditing via Database than the records will go in AUD$ table only. There is a metalink note that talks about the movement of AUD$ to another tablespace and also for related objects. You may want to check that note,*Metalink notes 72460.1 "Moving AUD$ to Another Tablespace and Adding Triggers to AUD$" and 1019377.6: "Script to move SYS.AUD$ table out of SYSTEM tablespace".*
On the other hand, you may want to look around for other options to enable Auditing, for example, o/s based.

Custom authentication - different user - no edit links

In my apex 3 application I use a custom authentication scheme, in which I validate users against our backoffice tables. However, I don’t have in those tables the database user that I use to develop apex applications.
When I run my application for the first time in the session (from the application builder tool) I am redirected to the login page and need to login. As I have to login using a different user, I don’t see at the bottom of the pages the edit links and I need to go back a number of times to get back to the app builder page.
What is the best practice in this case? Is it possible to tell apex not to use the login page if the app is being run from the app builder tool? (or something like that)

Thanks for the reply. I understand why this happens, but I was wondering if there was a way to circumvent this limitation, as I can't login as the database user I am using to build the application (because I don't have that user in my custom authentication scheme).
Of course I could add that user, but as it is maintained by another department (it is a live system and I would have to justify well why I need a new user just for development purposes), I was looking for another quicker, simpler solution.

Welcome to the Apple community.
iTunes and iCloud and different accounts, you will need to delete both accounts from your device before adding the new details in their place.
For iCloud go to settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit the delete button. You can then sign back in using your correct details. For iTunes go to settings >store, tap your account ID and then sign out, you can then sign back in using your correct Apple ID.

Um, there is no such thing as NAS4.1.
I'm assuming that you mean NAS4.0 (maybe NAS4.0sp1?). If so, then the session timeouts are specified in the session section of the NTV configuration files.
AFAIK, you can specify session timeouts on a per user basis.

Problem with background job using SUBMIT under different user

Not really. You should not be sharing an Aperture library over a network. It's not designed for that and you'll likely corrupt your library at some point.

Have your wife log in to her user account on the laptop. Launch iTunes, then connect her phone to the computer with the USB cable. Sync. That should put back all apps and media. Since you already upgraded her to iOS 5 she'll have to manually enter all her settings and preferences, and organize her home screens.

Since the Apple ID does not have a username, I suppose you mean different e-mail-adresses?
In theory, this is not a problem, but of course it can be difficult if you want to keep things separated. For example, logging in with you Apple ID will automatically set up iCloud and sync your calendar, reminder, notes, mails etc. You can disable this syncing on your daughter's devices, but then they won't be able to use functionalities unless they create their own accounts (for example set up another email account). I think (but I am not 100% on this) they will be able to create reminders/notes etc. locally on the iphone.
If you mean app-wise or legal-wise: No, this is not an issue. You can use your Apple ID and the apps you bought on up to five different devices. Still, for simplicities sake and to give everyone their share of privacy I personally would suggest different IDs for everyone.
