VPN Client 4 blue screens Acer TravelMate Running W2K

I have tried two different versions of the Cisco VPN Client (both of them Version 4 flavors), and the Acer TravelMate will Blue Screen after installation. If I boot to Safe Mode and uninstall the Client, the machine works fine. The machine is running Windows 2000.
Has anyone else had this problem? If so, what did you to to solve it? Any help is appreciated. Thanks! Mike

There are known issues with blue screen symptoms with VPN client. There are several bugs on 4.0 which may cause a blue screen: CSCdt31839, CSCdx57930, CSCal01761, CSCdx11597. These are only a few known issues regarding a blue screen on a windows machine. Check if there are others with Acer too using the Bug toolkit available on cisco.com/tac.

  • Cisco VPN Client Blue Screen Windows Vista

I am using Cisco Client IPSec VPN version 5.0.07.0410. Installed on a Windows Vista operating system. Blue screen in Windows occurs after I have entered userid and password. Can anyone shed any light on this? I know that Cisco operates fine with XP and Windows 7 but has had issues with Vista?
    Thank you
    Carlos

    Andrew,
Thank you. As soon as we upgraded Vista to SP2, it worked. The issue was with the OS not having the proper updates to interact with the Cisco VPN client.
    Appreciate all the support.

  • Vpn creating blue screen

I bought a Cisco E1200 router to use with a strong vpn.  I flashed it successfully following thier instructions.  I works fine as a pass-through for my internet connection and as a wireless source.  But when I connect to the Strong Vpn through their client, I get a blue screen on my Windows 7 after about 5-10 minutes.  The bluescreen says it is related to the new hardware.  The only new hardware is the router.  Any thoughts on how to resolve this issue?  Thanks!

I do not think that "Strong VPN" a cisco product, so this is not the right forum.

  • Repeated blue screen crash when running labview 8.2 on Dell optiplex GX620

Hi, I have recently experienced a series of 'blue screen' crashes on a Dell Optiplex GX620 while running Labview 8.2. The dell is running Windows XP SP2 with an ATI Radeon X600 graphics card. Labview is interfacing with a NI DAQPad 6015 device. The computer is a dedicated Labview machine so there is no other third party software that has been installed that could be causing the problem. Also, the computer is one of three identical machines, the only one that has labview installed and the only one that is crashing. Upon rebooting after the first 'blue screen' crash an error report indicated that there was a problem with the ATI graphics driver and suggested updating the driver to the latest version. This was done. Upon rebooting after the second 'blue screen' crash an error report indicated that there was a problem with the RAM. Both of these crashes occurred while running a labview application. A further two incidents have occurred where the computer has restarted for no apparent reason while running a labview application. I was wondering if you were aware of any known issues/incompatibilities with my specific machine and labview 8.2, or if there could be any other known issues with labview that might be causing the crashes. It should also be noted that this is a new setup and these crashes have occurred in relatively short time frame. Thanks for your help!

    Hi,
To have a better understanding of what is causing the blue screen crash and the Windows restart, we may need to retrieve the memory dump caused by the crash in Windows XP.  Before we actually get into that, we may need to disable Automatic Reboot by Windows when it crashes.  I have attached a link that describes how to disable computer reboot after a crash and I have also attached a link of how to retreive the memory dump.  Let me know how it goes!
Why Does My Computer Automatically Reboot For No Reason?
How Can I Create a Kernel Memory Dump When Windows Crashes?
(Note that we want to select Complete memory dump, not Kernel Memory dump)

    Brand new Note book

Brand new laptops from Apple come with OS X Lion pre-installed.
You need to hold the Command/Apple key and the r (as in rat) keys down and press the power button to boot the computer.
You should enter the Lion Recovery Partition and there you can select Disk Utility and repair your computer.
The other option is to download the Lion operating system again to replace the one your using.
You need to have a Apple id, if you don't have one, your better off taking the machine back to the Apple Store.
If you can't then your going to have to use Safari to set up a Apple id, then once that's done you can download Lion to your computer and install it.
To get on the Internet you need a reliable fast connection and either the Ethernet cable or the WIfi network name and password.
Once Lion is reinstalled, you shoudl be able to reboot and everything should be fine. You need to use Software Update to get current on 10.7.1
You can also try these steps, Lion is very new but the actions are the same.

Try again with Vista 32bit, 64bit is highly unstable and only a few have it running stable.
I've been running Vista x64 for the past nine months, and now with my K9A2 P--and have had no problems.  I mean, none.  Have not had any occasion to even consider reinstalling Vista x32. Vista x64 has been stable as a rock for me consistently since I installed it.  Would not consider going back to XP under any circumstances.
There is a problem with Beard0's system that I would say boils down to device drivers or faulty hardware or some combination thereof.  His experience is dramatically different from my own, and the problems he's having are not indicative of my experience with Vista, whether x86 or x64.

  • Intels Dual-Core technology causes Blue-Screen in LabVIEW 7.1 on Windows XP SP2

    Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
last month we've bought a new Notebook with Intel's Dual-Core technology. After installation of LabVIEW 7.1 the system sometimes quit with a blue-screen. The former notebook didn't have this problem.
Is there a fix-pack or service-pack that correct this problem?

Does it blue-screen only when running LabVIEW or does it do that randomly, but it never happened before you installed LabVIEW?
What is the exact message on the blue screen?

it's some problem with the video driver, isnt?
    someone can help me?

i dont have a crystal ball so i cant se which psu you got so that info has to be posted by you.
3.3v 5v and 12v rails can be found on a label.
memory is it running at the same speed as fsb or at full speed ?
btw full speed is 200mhz not 400mhz as you written in your signature.
but it sends data twice each cycle so you get  avirtual frequency of 400.
with this chipset its always faster to run fsb / dram ratio 1:1 even if it means the memory works underclocked.
also run http://www.memtest.org to check memory.
btw where cam Maceio be found on a map ?

  • Nivvglk.sys blue screen dump on new computer

I replaced a broken computer with a Supermicro X8ST3 w/RAID5 running XP 5.01.2600 servicepak 3.  On this new computer I get nivvglk.sys dump stop on 2nd or 3rd run after reboot.  Have many other computers that work fine on this software installation suite.  VXI is connected with 1394.  Resman runs ok.  There is a 1394 hangup is inside VXITech vtvmSmip_init() -> viMoveOut16() (initial clearing TraceRAM).  Any ideas?

    Hi,
Are the other working computers the same make/model and did you use an image to install this software suite? Can you elaborate on your “the 2 or 3 runs after reboot” comment? Is there a program that you are running that is causing this blue screen that will run 2 or 3 times without error? Would you be able to send in a dump file if needed?

  • GTX 660 Ti - Battlefield 4 - Blue Screen

I'm getting pretty frequent Blue Screens trying to run Battlefield 4.
The card is an MSi GeForce GTX 660 Ti Power Edition 2GD5/OC
I'm looking for a couple of things:
    1)  If there is any specific GeForce driver version that has been shown to work "best" with Battlefield 4 on the 660 Ti.  I am currently on the latest as of this writing - 334.89.
    and
    2)  What are the slider settings in MSi  Afterburner to UN-OverClock this card?  I want to see if the factory OC is killing the card in BF4, so I need to know how to throttle it back to where a stock 660 Ti would typically run.
    Thanks!

Quote from: Bernhard on 04-March-14, 00:57:32
Blue Screens are normally caused by a combination of hardware.
What does the rest of your system consist of, including PSU.
Nvidia drivers may cause screen tearing or a recovery of the graphics driver, i.e. a black screen and then it will state that the graphic driver has recovered.
Can you describe the exact symptoms and if it is a BSOD, what is the error code you are getting.
A stock 660 would have a core clock of 915MHz.
Rest of system specs now in signature.
BlueScreenView reports the following for the last crash I got.
Exact symptoms are that the game suddenly freezes, the audio goes into a tight loop, and then it blue-screens.
At this point, having now come up to speed on the MSi Over-voltage situation on the 660 Ti, I'm wondering how to safely throttle back this voltage, as well as the clocks, to factory specs.  I'm concerned that BF4 is simply too demanding and it's crashing the card due to either the OC or over-voltage.

  • Cisco VPN Client causes blue screen crash on WindowsXP Pro (Satellite M30)

    Hi there,
I've got a Satellite Pro M30 running Windows XP Professional.
After starting a vpn Tunnel via a Cisco VPN Client (Version 4.6 and 4.7) the system crashes with a blue screen.
I can see that the key exchange is successful, but immediatly after the vpn connection gets established Windows XP crashes with a blue screen.
Has anyone an idea, how to solve this problem?
Maybe by device driver update? And if so, which driver should be updated?
    Kind regards,
    Thorsten

    Hi R2D2 (and anyone else)!
1st of all (concerning your link) - I'm not using the wireless adapter.
I am connectet via 100Mbit via network-cable to my hub (all RJ45 TP Cat.5)
I found several other Notebook users by google'ing who have the same problem different vpn-clients but most of them with a centrino processor inside the notebook.
Almost all of them solved the problem by installing new drivers. But I can't use driver-patches from other Notebook to fix my Toshiba Drivers.
What could help is information about which driver is responsible for the crash by vpn clients on centrino notebooks. Maybe there is an Intel driver for it, but when I do not know which one causes the problem it's like seeking a needle in a haystack... :(
Disabling ALL other network devices (wireless, 1394-network adapter, modem, etc.) did not solve the problem.
I used the Cisco VPN clients several times on my old Compaq Notebook without any problems, but here it just doesn't work.
An idea which driver should be updated is kindly welcome!
    Thank you, Thorsten

  • Cisco vpn client causing blue screen on xp

Hi all, We have just done a rollout of cisco vpn client 4.6 on our laptops, since this alot of them seem to be blue screening aka blue screen on death, they are all running xp with service pack 2, does anyone know of any issues with this and how to solve it?
    cheers
    Carl

If you are using the VPN client 3.6.1 it might cause a Windows BlueScreen critical error. This problem results from incorrect processing by the VPN Client of a return DDNS packet from a DNS server that does not implement DDNS.
If this problem is encountered, cvpndrv.sys (Cisco VPN Driver) would cause the blue screen.
    Release 3.6.3 resolves the issues
