  • Site-to-site VPN failover via 3G HWIC

Small problem.  Branch utilizes a 2811 router connected via MPLS to core via serial interface.  If serial ip sla reachability fails, fire up the cell interface, dial out and connect to the internet.  Establish ipsec tunnel to a peer ASA and pass local LAN traffic over the tunnel.  Problem is the tunnel does come up and I am 'briefly' able to communicate across the tunnel but then *poof*.  No more communication.  Tried multiple ideas and thoughts (different encypt, authentication etc).  I am thinking that per my config, the IPSEC session is trying to establish before the dialer session is fully up, thus potentially causing problems with the authentication to the peer.  Any help would be appreciated.  Here is the debug of isakmp, ipsec, dialer and ppp when I manually kill the serial interface:
    14th_Street(config)#int s0/1/0:0
    14th_Street(config-if)#shut
    14th_Street(config-if)#

  • Special characters / accents in BB 8330 Messenger

I'm having problems adding special characters/accents (á, é, í, ó, ú, ñ) in my new Curve 8330 BB messenger. I used to have a World Edition 8830 and had no problems at all. I've tried holding the letter key and rolling the trackball to the left/right but only the upper case form of the letter appears and actually, this is being done by pressing the letter, not because of the rolling of the trackball. I tried changing the input language to Spanish or French but still it's not working.
I can add them without a problem in an email, memoPad, etc. Also I have no problems when writing in the Windows Live Messenger I downloaded, but have no luck when it comes to the BB messenger.
Is there a way I can add these special characters/accents in my BB messenger? I have the Blackberry 8330 (CDMA), version 4.3.0.127 (Platform 3.1.0.73)
    Thanks.

please read some previous discussions about SMS characters encoding, as well as the solution that will enable you to type spanish characters.

  • How to find out what carrier is blackberry 8330 locked to?

    Hello,
I've got a bunch of BB 8330's. Some of them have carrier logos, so I know which carrier they are from. But others have no logos, so I assumed they were unlocked. If I go to Options -> Advanced Options, there is no choice Sim Card, so I can't checked whether it is unlocked.
However, I have a feeling they are indeed locked. I put a T-mobile card in, and it says that a mobile carrier is "CDMA Home Network". What does that mean?
Also, on the back of the phone it says "Qualcomm 3G CDMA", but all of them have that written, so I'm not sure if it's relevant.
Is there any way I can find out whether the phone is unlocked, or which carrier it is locked to?
    Thank you

  • Blackberry Twitter beta on 8330 Curve

    Hello all,
I attempted to download and install the new BB beta Twitter client.  Unfortunately, I received a message that my Curve 8330 doesn't meet the requirements?  Has anyone else experienced this?
    Thanks
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

It's because the app requires at least 64 MB RAM to function. The 8330 comes with 96 MB built in, much of which is used up by the OS and any installed apps. The only way to use the Twitter client would be to delete a lot of apps or to revert to an older OS that used up less RAM, maybe 4.2.

  • 8330's AUDIO BOOST DOESN'T BOOST

I have a two-week old 8330 CURVE from BELL MOBILITY.  When using the media player -- music, video, etc. -- I can toggle the audio boost feature on/off with ZERO perceptible increase/decrease in the speakerphone or earbud audio level.
A friend's 8310 (from rogers) boost is very, very, perceptible.
    I went back to the store, gave them my microSD, and got the same no-boost result on a new/different 8330;
Called BM tech support and he tested a unit there with same no-boost result.
Tech checked with his escalation desk and they said that's the way RIM set it up for the 8330s.
Is it that the 8330 being CDMA, which is intrinsically harder on the battery, is audio limited in favor of OEM battery performance (or the appearance of sufficiency)?
    What's up?
How do I get my boost to boost.  The levels are a tide too low when listening while in noisier places.
     Thanks,

Make sure when you go to play it that you turn the Shuffle on to linear play, not Shuffle play. Audiobooks won't play when it is set to shuffle.

  • Will there be a CDMA Curve World Edition

Hello to the new Blackberry forums. Guess I am the first person to post here. Anyway, I noticed that the Curve that is launching for CDMA carriers soon is not a World Edition phone. Does anyone know if there will be one at some point? I would love to get the Curve, but I have to have the International capabilities. Thanks

kewl i did not know that. so if you cant wait then the 8330 is for the win?

  • Korean / CJK INPUT on 8330: RIM Are You Listening?

It's official. I am on the brink of meltdown!!!!!!!!!!
It is extremly frustrating not being able to install
Korean / CJK INPUT on my 8330 Curve.
I've done quite a bit of Googling and ended up installing
multilanguage version of handheld software on my BB
which flawlessly displays CJK. However input method is
still limited to English UK and English US.
When I was just about to give up on CJK Input,
I saw a thread of hope from the above.
According to sources (BB Forums, Pinstack), using EastAsia
version of handheld software, CJK input was successfully
installed on SOME Curves. Holding onto that thread of hope,
I've countlessly tried installing CJK Input  using "EastAsia
version of handheld softwares for 8300, 8310 and 8320" onto
my 8330 but failed miserably each and every time.
I demand EastAsia version of handheld softwares for 8330!!
(or anything that enables CJK Input!!)
Do not underestimate the size of Asian American market!
Message Edited by numbaz on 11-19-2008 11:21 AM

You demand???   Maybe we should demand that Americans speak English!
RIM releases the OS's to carriers and the carriers release them to the customers.  CJK versions of the OS are tough because the carriers don't release those versions in the US.  There are very few CDMA carriers in Asia (though, there are a few) so there aren't many options for carrier sites to download from.
I recommend going through the list below and looking through the Asian CDMA carriers and maybe you'll find a version that supports CJK input.  You may not find the exact OS version you're looking for, though.

  • Can I download the media player for the 8350i onto an 8330?

I recently purchased a 8350i (but took it back because I don't want the Nextel feature from), however, I the media player on the 8350i was much improved from the 8330 from Sprint.  Is there any way to download the media player that is on the 8350i onto the 8330?

You can't change just the media player.  However, you can upgrade your OS on your 8330 to the latest and get a little better media player.  Spring doesn't have a 4.5 OS update but Verizon and other cdma carriers do.  Just use one of those.  It won't be the same as on the 8350, though, I don't think.

  • Curve 8330 SIM Card for International Calls How to?!

I have Verizon, who tells me my phone only works in US -- however, I have seen posts that seem to imply you can purchase/change a SIM card so the phone will work overseas.  If possible, how does this work, exactly? What do I ask to have have turned off/on; where do I purchase SIM card? How do I install it? What features should I look for? Is this at all possible? Can someone give me step by step help (for the technically deeply challenged) on how to make my US only phone intrernational (I need the UK and Egypt ... but I'll settle for UK only).
My sonic screwdriver seems not to be up to the trick! Thanks in advance.

HI and Welcome to the Forums!
    According to the specifications page:
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/devices/blackberrycurve8300/curve_specifications.jsp
the 8330 has a CDMA only radio...so it will only work on networks that use that exact radio encoding and frequency. You'd have to check with the carriers in your destination countries to see if they have such service (frankly, I doubt it...). If by chance they do have, then VZW would be able to sell you an international roaming service for your BB, requiring no change to the SIM. Changing the SIM would change the carrier to which your BB is tied -- which would require VZW to provide you with the unlock code so that you could first unlock your BB from VZW, in which case a SIM from a different carrier could then work. But, frankly, I think that you won't have any luck given that your BB is CDMA only.
Good luck and let us know!

  • Using a 8330 curve on Alltel

I purchased an 8330 Curve that originally was set up on Sprint.  The seller said it would work on Alltel (my provider).  Alltel says I have to have an Alltel phone.  Is that correct?  thanks

    Welcome to the forums.
That is correct - so far no CDMA carriers are allowing devices from other CDMA carriers on their networks.  That includes Sprint, Verizon, and Alltel.
I'd ask the seller for your money back.

  • Webmail via vpn access

I have a blackberry curve 8330 silver. Its for personal use primarily but I also want to have access to my work email. My other personal email account I do not have a problem.
I can get to my email via a web browser on a PC, but not able to access it with my blackberry using my VPN. I go around in circles.
Go to browser, It prompts my for my user credentials which I put in,
    then it says successful login,
but bounces right back to asking for my VPN login credentials.
Occassionally, I get the MS Office web access login, put in my credentials and then get bounced back to VPN login page. Put in my login credential and start at top again...
Any ideas? I do NOT want to install Enterprise Server especially since this is my personal blackberry; jus tired of having to turn my PC on to check email.
I'm in a vicious cycle... it shouldn't be this hard.

Hi, I'm trying to access internet via Intarnet access point ...
If you are simply wanting to access the public internet using the Nokia mVPN client, as opposed to accessing a corporate or private intranet, you will need to subscribe to a public VPN gateway provider.  Your connection from the phone to the gateway will be VPN protected, from the gateway to your internet destinations will be normal non-VPN connections, using the IP assigned by the gateway.
If a user's VPN needs are simple, the attached Setup Guide may provide more detail than required.  The essentials are: the Nokia mVPN client installed, a compatible VPN gateway (IKE/IPSec), and a VPN policy file (configured and installed).  The policy file specifies how the client will connect to the gateway.
You can download pre-configured policy files for Nokia mVPN from 12vpn, they are one of the very few VPN gateway providers catering to Symbian users.

Hey all, just noticed something recently, when viewing the calendar in monthly view and scrolling down to the next week or up to the next week.. It seems to sometimes display "Week" which is a bug?. but if I scroll down to the next week it shows "Week 3".
If I go to the next week and then back to previous one it will then be displayed right....
So is this "Week thing a bug"
    Anyone ever see this.....

Okay now this is really freaking weird...
Scroll thru to later months and you will see some weeks show up as Week 1 or Week 2 then jump to Week 11 or Week 13.
But then if you go back the weeks are okay....

    hello,
    I can't reproduce that on my 8310. I have OS 4.2.2.175.
