VPN on Mac works but not my iOS 7 devices

I am running OS X Mountain Lion Server 2.2.2 with the VPN switch on. I have no problem with my MBP connecting to the VPN server, however since upgrading to iOS 7 on my devices they will not connect. I keep receiving the following error. All the correct ports are forwarded and I am using an Airport Extreme as my router. This boggles my mind because VPN worked just fine on iOS 6, please help.
"The L2TP-VPN server did not respond. Try reconnecting. If the problem continues, verify your settings and contact your Administrator."

Had similar problem (could VPN to Mountain Lion Server 2.2.2 with my Mavericks Macbook Pro. When trying to VPN to the server from my IOS 7.0.4 iPhone, I could get a connection, but wasn't able to access my Contacts on the server - verification kept failing with and without SSL).
I had created the VPN profile using the Server app and then saved it and emailed it to my IOS 7.0.4 iphone. I also had access to an IOS 5.x iPad, and installed the same profile there. Contacts sync worked fine on the IOS 5 device.
I finally deleted the VPN profile on the iphone, and manually created one on the iPhone 7.0.4 by typing in the account info from the Server User pane and from the Server VPN pane.
It was a bit long typing in the shared secret, but when I was finished, I was able to connect, and now I could - on the iPhone - create a new Contacts account including server information, and the verification was successful. I can now access the Contacts on the iPhone and on my server.
Am guessing something in IOS 7.0.4 misreads the VPN profile, which causes problems down the line. Apple?

Wake on Lan (works, but not always)

Iam trying to get Wak on Lan working on my iMac. It works, but not always. When I put my mac to sleep en send the magic package, my mac turns back on. But when my mac turns to sleep and I wait a few hours (the next morning), my Mac doesn't respond to the same magic packag. When I wake up the Mac by hand, and put it back to sleep again, the magic package works again en turns the mac on.
It almost looks like the mac goes into a deeper sleep mode after a few hours. Does anyone knows what could ben the reazon.

mmm, It seems like my mac doesn't always turns to sleep mode. Most of the time it only turns off the screen (solid light). My energy settings are 10 minutes for the screen and 15 minutes for the mac. But after turning of the screen it never turns to sleepmode. Ecxept when I put it to sleep manualy.
Strange thing is: when the screen is turned of, shouldn't I be able to get tot my files... (I can't actualy).

Bonjour - Mac A can see Mac B but not vice versa

Very odd behaviour with Bonjour. Up until yesterday, my macbook pro (call it A) would see my mac pro (B) - it would appear automatically in A's sidebar, I could listen to B's iTunes library on A and so on. No problem and there hasn't been for a couple of years. B could not see A - but I didn't really need it to and this wasn't an issue.
Suddenly, this morning, the situation is completely reversed. A can no longer see B at all, but B can see A.
I can connect both ways by using 'Connect', I can ping both ways, but I can't get A to discover B using Bonjour.
The only think I've done that I can think can have caused the changes is to use Omnifocus sync (with B holding the sync server) - it worked fine all day, but overnight Bonjour seems to have reversed itself as described above.
Bonjour Browser shows me that B can see A, but A can't see B. I have identical settings on both machines for sharing, network, firewall (all everything).
Bizarrely, for one two minute period a couple of hours ago, the situation reversed itself (A could see B but not vice versa), but then immediately went back to B can see A, but not vice versa.
Both computers are running the same version of Leopard (10.5.7). I've reinstalled the OS on B, just to see, but this hasn't improved matters.
I can find nothing on google or this discussions forum to explain this bizarre behaviour - most support threads seem to peter out without being resolved. Has anyone any idea what's going on please? I'm quite happy getting stuck into the command line, if that's needed.

The Macbook Pro is connected wirelessly to the router, the Mac Pro connects to the same router by ethernet.
As far as I'm aware, I'd made no changes to any of the setups (computers or router) before the problem occurred: bonjour worked fine, but in one direction only (the MBP could see the Mac Pro, but not vice versa). Now, the Mac Pro can see the MBP, but not vice versa - and this is a problem because my printer and itunes server both sit on the Mac Pro.
I've set all the firewall and security settings I could find to transparent access - and (except for the obvious difference between the wired and wireless links), the setups are identical on both computers.
By the way, I can connect to the Mac Pro easily enough and transfer files, I just can't see it via bonjour or use Screen Sharing (again the settings haven't changed since they were working!)

Parallels Desktop v3.0 corrupts downloads on Mac Pro but not on MacBook Pro

Parallels Desktop for Mac version 3.0 is corrupting downloads and updates on my Mac Pro, but not on my MacBook Pro. Symptoms include the message "The digital signature for this package is incorrect. The package may have been tampered with or corrupted since being signed by “Apple” when downloading a software update. Downloading a dmg software package fails at the end of the download with a "Verification failed" message. Trying to mount the package manually fails with codec overrun error. These are symptoms of a corrupted download.
The problem disappears when I uninstall Parallels. It reappears if I reinstall Parallels. My Mac Pro and MacBook Pro are nearly identical in installed software. I have reviewed the problem with AppleCare in excruciating detail (an hour yesterday and another hour today with an AppleCare Specialist). It is a new issue to them. We have send a support request email to Parallels.com.
This has been a difficult problem to troubleshoot. I had tried every suggestion that I could find on the forum under "Digital Signature is incorrect", "Verification failed", "codec overrun", etc., without success. I won't go into the painful details of the troubleshooting process, unless encouraged. But I will update the forum when I know more. Meanwhile, if you have any ideas please pass them on.

The problem has been solved by replacing the Linksys WRT54G Wireless-G Router with an Apple AirPort Extreme 802.11n Wireless Base Station. After completing the installation I was able to successfully download my test .dmg files on the both the Mac Pro and the MacBook Pro with Parallels 3.0 installed.
Before I had made this change I had worked with a Parallels tech support expert. (By the way, they were very responsive.) We had tried a number of things without success, including disconnecting and restarting the cable modem and router.
I don't know why this change in routers worked. It couldn't be related the WEP encryption on the Linksys versus the WPA2 security on the Airport Extreme because the problem was not with the wireless connection to the MacBook Pro. The problem was with the Mac Pro, which was connected via an ethernet cable, in both cases.
I am now happy, but confused.

No, since the iPad 2 is iOS 8 compatible it can only be updated to iOS 8. Apple does not support upgrading to interim iOS versions, and removes those files from the servers when a new version is released. The only path for that iPad 2 is iOS 8.0.2.

We checked it with an iPhone 5 in house multiple times and could not reproduce this Problem. Must be something specific to your device. Maybe your speakerphone volume is turned down completely?

Call your ISP (Internet Service Provider) and explain them your issue, it could range from having your router configured incorrectly to having a wiring issue. Personally, I have Comcast and they are great, no issues, and awesome customer service.

Try this.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
