VPN/RDC HP OfficeJet 4632 printing

I am trying to print from my Office workstation to my Laptop with USB connection to the HP OfficeJet 4632 printer.
I have installed the print drivers for the OJ 4632 on the Office workstation that is running Win 7 Pro x64.
The workstation showes the remote OJ 4632 (redirect -1) printer.  When I do a "Print TEST Page" and check "What's Printing," I see the job printing, and then Deleting.  The document is never printed.   I have ensure that "File and Print sharing" is turned on.
What am I missing?

Hello RLVCorker,
Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you are having some printing issues.
First off, please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
I also suggest that we try the HP Print and Scan Doctor.
Please let me know if you see any error codes or messages.
Thanks for your time.

  • Brand New HP Officejet 4632 printer with new cartridges. Black ink showing empty

I just bought a brand new HP Officejet 4632 printer and as soon as I put in the ink cartridges that came with the printer it said printing in single cartridge mode and the black ink shows empty. I haven't even used the printer yet and it already shows empty. What do I do?

    Hello bobboman11,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you are having an issue with the ink cartridges in your new printer.
Please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
Take the ink out of the printer and with a lint free cloth and some bottled water, lightly dampen the cloth and clean the metal contacts on the cartridges and the contacts on the carriage.  Make sure every thing is dry and make sure that the protective cover is completely off of the ink.  Insert the ink in to the printer and attempt a test print.
If the troubleshooting does not help resolve your issue, I would then suggest calling HP's Technical Support to see about further options for you. If you are calling within North America, the number is 1-800-474-6836 and for all other regions, click here: click here.

  • How to remove MAC-address filtering? Where? Officejet 4632+HP15 notebook + Huawei 4G

I can't connect wirelessly my new Officejet 4632 printer to my HP15-g041sa (win 8.1) notebook.
Printer can not connect to Wi-Fi router (Huawei E3276 4G Sonera modem in use).
How can I get MAC address filtering off from my system (which can cause this problem)?
Where to go to find the place to get off MAC address filtering?
I got some advice: "Remove the MAC address from the router's access list."
But where is this place to remove... In my laptop, somewhere?
    Help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello there! Welcome to the forums @Ysi9
To change your Mac address filtering, you would need to access your router settings. If you're unsure about how to do this, I would personally suggest contacting your routers  manufacturer for assistance.
    I hope that helps you!

  • Hp officejet 4632/all in one printer

my hp officejet 4632 all in 1 printer will only print page 1 of 1. No matter where you set it [ all pages-number of pages or where] How do you get this to work?   eazy1

Hello , and welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I see you're receiving cartridge errors.  I'd like to help! I would recommend removing the ink cartridges from the printer, and perform a power reset.  Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug the printer back in. Ensure you plug the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any sort of surge protector or power bar. I would also suggest this document: A 'Cartridge Missing,' 'Cartridge Problem,' or 'Incompatible Ink Cartridges' Error Message Displays for HP Officejet 4630 and HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 4640 e-All-in-One Printer Series Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting steps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!

  • Device Manager reported driver missing for Officejet 7310 printer

I used the full-feature install software downloaded from HP site to setup an Officejet 7310 printer on a Lenovo T540p laptop with Windows 8.1 64-bit OS.  The install and the printer appear to work correctly as I can print and I can also scan from the HP Solution Center utility.  However, the Device Manager reports two errors/anomolies as follows.
Under the "Multifunction adapters" entry the Officejet 7300 series Properties shows the Device Status as:
This device is disabled. (Code 22)
Click Enable Device to enable this device.
Under the "Other devices" entry theOfficejet 7300 series Properties shows the Device Status as:
The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)
There are no compatible drivers for this device.
To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver.
I find this a bit baffling as I believe the install software is supposed to include the driver(s), plus the printer seems to function (which could be due to default Microsoft drivers).
Any thoughts on how things got in this state and how to recover would be deeply appreciated as I prefer to not "ignore" the error messages.
    Thanks,
    Glenn

Yes I was able to remove the USB instance and rename the network-connected printer instance as the sole printer.  I thought that should work, but I was a bit paranoid given the other weird things that happened with the package install.
I'm good to go; thanks again.

  • How do I print standard 6 3/4" standard size envelopes from an hp 8600 officejet pro printer?

How do I print 6 3/4" standard size envelopes from an hp 8600 officejet pro printer. This printer has this size on the tray and has this size listed in the printer set up on the printer, but the drop down boxes from my computer to set up the printer do not have this standard size listed. I keep getting messages on my printer that it is not set for the right size. I have a list of supported envelopes and their numbers for this printer but which one of these other numbers is the same as the 6 3/4" standard size envelope. I have an operating system of windows 7 with an older version of publisher. Everything else prints ok from publisher & the printer, just not the standard size envelopes of 6 3/4".
    Please help!
    indy-girl

    Hi indy-girl,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums! I see you are trying to print 6 3/4" envelopes from your HP Officejet Pro 8600, but keep getting an error 'printer that it is not set for the right size'. After taking a look at the Supported envelopes sizes, the 6 3/4 is not supported. See below:
I was able to take a look at the 8600, the only thing I am seeing listed on the paper tray is Legal/Letter, and the 4x6". I am not seeing the 6 3/4 size.
    I hope this helps!
    Thanks,
    HevnLgh

  • HP Officejet 4500 = Printing problem

    Hello,
I have an HP Officejet 4500.  When I run a printing test, it prints out fine so it does not appear to be an ink problem or connection issue.  But when I try to print out a document from my computer, the paper feeds through but does not print.
    Any ideas?

    Hi Perplexed99,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums.  I gather that when sending a print job to your Officejet 4500 printer that the printer only prints blank pages.
I’ve included the Troubleshooting Print Quality document.  I know you said the test page seemed to print fine but please follow the steps in this document.  If that doesn’t assist you, please also Try the HP Print and Scan Doctor for Windows.  You can find the download for the Print And Scan Doctor at hp.com/go/tools.

  • HP Officejet wont print in black and white!

I have had an HP OfficeJet 6600 printer for a couple of years now and it has shocked me how many times I have had to replace color cartridges that I really never use.  I am a high school teacher who does a lot of work from home and I only need to print in black and white, yet I am not permitted to do that because everytime a color runs out, I cant use my printer AT ALL.  This comes off as a scheme for HP to make more money because everytime this message comes up, I am offered the oppurtunity to buy color cartridges at a high price.  I will never be buying another hp product again!

HP and other printer manufacturers have different printer technologies for different needs.  For inkjet printers:
Some have printheads built into the ink cartridges.  These printers can typically print with one or more of the colors completely empty, or even with color or black (but not both) cartridges removed. The Officejet 8040a is an example.
Other printers have separate ink supplies and replaceable printheads.  An example would be the Officejet 6600 printer.  The printhead in these printers can be replaced if they are damaged by running the printhead with colors out.  Some of these printers will allow printing with a color out, other will not.  If the printer is run without ink in one or more colors the printer may be damaged, but the user may be able to recover without having to send the printer for service.
Other printers have permanent printheads.  To run these without some ink in all the colors would risk causing damage to the printhead due to clogs, air ingested in the printhead or burned out printhead firing resistors. The Officejet 6700 is an example of this type of printer. For printers with fixed printheads this could require service to get the printer to print properly again when the ink is finally replaced.
The document here describes how ink is used.  While the document is written for HP Inkjet printers the same principles apply to inkjet printers from other manufacturers.
If you never print in color a laser printer would likely be a better choice.  If you occasionally print color but mostly black an IPH printer like those in the first category above may be a good choice.

  • How do I change an hp officejet j6400 printer change from color to black and white?  I have a Mac 10.8 OX system

How do I change an hp officejet j6400 printer change from color to black and white?
    I have a Mac 10.8 OX system

    Hi JasperNM,
You may access a card within the cart reader by mapping a network drive to access it, then you may transfer the fies to your Mac.
First locate the printer IP address as following:
Follow these steps to print a Wireless Network Test Report, the IP address will be listed within that report:
On the control panel, press the Setup button ( ).
Press the Right Arrow button ( ) to scroll to Network Setup , and then press the OK button.
Press the OK button to select Print Network Settings .
Press the Right Arrow button ( ) to scroll to Wireless Test Report , and then press the OK button. The Wireless Network Test Report prints.
Now map a network driver by following the steps below:
Click the Finder icon on your Mac.
    Click the Go menu.
    Click on Connect to Server.
In the Server Address field enter “smb://ipaddress of the printer” and click on Connect.
You will be prompted to enter the password. leave it as is and click on Connect.
The Memory card will be mounted as a disk in the Finder.

Running on OSx 10.6.8 using a new HP Officejet 6000 printer. How can I get to within 1/8" on all sides of an 8.5x11 sheet of paper. Images and copy cuts off at 5/8" at bottom. HP says it's a mac problem, not an HP problem. I tried every combination of print settings. Nothing has solved the problem. Have I missed something?

Yes you are unfortunately you as the consumer are caught in the middle. I totally disagree with what HP told you, they supply the print drivers to Apple, Apple doesn't write printer drivers that I know of. Look in the print settings to see if you can go below 5/8", I know I can with my HP printers (Laserjet 1012, Color Laserjet 2600N, OfficeJet 7410 & OfficeJet 7700 series) so I'm sure the issue is specific to the OJ6000 series.

  • How to install an Officejet 8100 printer on a hybrid network?

    Hi,
I want to buy an Officejet 8100 printer to use on my home network. My desktop PC has Windows 7 64 bits and is connected to a wireless router through an Ethernet cable. I have also a Windows 7 64 bits notebook, which access the home network through wi-fi. The desktop is near both the router and the printer.
After reading the 8100 installation instructions, I plan to do the following:
    1) Install the 8100 hardware, cartridges, etc.
    2) Connect the 8100 to the router by using an Ethernet cable.
    3) Install the 8100 drivers and software on my desktop PC, by folllowing the steps on "Wired (Ethernet) network" installation instructions.
    4) Install the 8100 drivers and software on my notebook by folllowing the steps on "Wireless network" installation instructions.
Is that OK? Is that the correct method of installing the Officejet 8100 on a hybrid network?
    Cheers!

You can connect it either way. You don't have to use an ethernet cable to install the printer. You may be prompted to temporarly connect a USB cable to transfer wireless settings. The document link I provided has pretty detailed instructions on how to connect using either method
