VPN works only after reload

Hello,
I have a Cisco ASA5505 setup for VPN trough IPSec (L2TP). I can connect from wherever I want to it using the user and password.
The only problem is that, after 2-3 days I have to reload the appliance because it denies connection on port 500 UDP. After the reload everything works fine again.
Do you know how to handle this kind of problem? Is is a bug in the software or it could be only a misconfiguration?

forget the diagnostics and launch airport utility and if a yellow button is showing, double click it and read what it says to correct.

Ever since I upgraded to 2.6.27, my net connection works only after I run the command "dhcpcd eth0" after booting in the system.Any suggestions to get net working without issuing this command would be great.!

I don't know if this will help or not, but I was having a problem with the "-R" argument and my dhcpcd.
I used to have my dnsmasq and OpenDNS using this guide: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Pos … ure_dhcpcd
I had to remove the "-R" to get my internet to work after the last update.... it's still not fixed but at least my Internet works when I start.

did ae install without problem? check the install logs to be sure (Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6, CC)
if it did, what do you see when clicking the executable?

Captivate 8 - Next Button Works Only After Viewing Slide

How do I make a Continue button work only after the viewer has viewed the entire slide?
I also want the viewer to be able to skip ahead instantly through slides they have already viewed.

Let me show you what I'm trying to create here. Sorry I need specific instructions since I'm a newbie to Captivate and not familiar with conditions and advanced actions.
I am currently using normal buttons (not a shape button) to create my PREVIOUS & NEXT buttons. Based on your advice I will switch to shape buttons.
"It could be done with a conditional advanced/shared action on Enter of each slide. You'll need a user variable per slide, a Boolean, that you change on the first visit from a default value of 0 to 1, after having checked its value."
What specifically do I select for the "On Enter" of each slide?
And do I only need to put this condition in the "On Enter" section of each slide? Or do I also need to setup special conditions for the NEXT button?

Virtual hosts work only after I will restart a httpd

This is strange. I'm using Apache server, and have problem with virtual hosts. For example I have a host:

Now when I restart my computer myhost.localhost will show me default "It works!" message, and just after "sudo systemctl restart httpd" the proper website will appear under this address. Why is that?

Not sure what your actual hostname is; but this is probably related to DNS not being available at boot. Depending on your actual name; apache might listen on the wrong interface / source-address for this domain; which is only fixed by restarting it when you have a working dns-server.

Ipod works only after keeping it near the car airconditioning vents

I have an unique problem. I stay in the middle east and have left behind my ipod in the car a number of times. My 2 year IPod is showingm a unique problem. It refuses to send anything to the earplugs/car speakers for the first 5 minutes or so. However it operates smoothly (meaning on screen everything is fine).
Only when I keep the ipod on the air conditioning vents for a couple of minutes, the ipod starts working after making a few screeching noises..
Pls help.

Electronic components can be damaged by excessive heat, and since the temperature inside a car here in the UK on a mild spring day can be as high as 35° C, I would imagine that in the middle east, it would not take long for the heat build up to be well above the 45° C maximum specified by Apple.
Typically, when electronics get very hot, the metal components can expand and if the temperature goes above the design limits this can force the soldered connections of two different parts to separate, thereby causing all or part of the unit to stop functioning correctly. But what I've mentioned above applies to larger devices with parts you can see. The iPod has very small components and circuits that are too small to see with the naked eye, possibly making it even more prone to temperature damage.
Consider this; some manufacturers "test-bake" their products in special ovens so that they can prematurely age them in order to test how long they will last in real life. So the fact that your iPod worked without trouble for two years in excess temperatures does not mean that it will continue to do so.
Sorry to say that it sounds like your iPod is displaying the typical symptoms of a heat damaged electronic device.

W520 Turbo Boost works only after entering Setup (BIOS 1.34)

similar issue but not quite fitting the thread about Intel TB missing in Battery mode, I can reproduce the following BIOS/Windows bug:
- boot the system without entering BIOS straight to Windows 7 : Intel Turbo Boost not working (i.e. frequency dynamically changes between 800 and 2500 Ghz)
- boot the system, enter setup, press F10 and save settings (without changing anything), boot Windows: Turbo Boost works
Is this a BIOS or a Windows problem? It is a workaround to get Turbo-Boost always, but quite inconvenient.
Can someone with similar Turbo Boost problems perhaps check if this is a general issue and could be fixed by Lenovo in a new BIOS update?
System: W520 i7-2860QM @2500 MHz, BIOS 1.34 (same problem on BIOS 1.26).

after spending an afternoon with an IBM service technician we isolated the problem. To make sure we switched boards and tested 4 bios version: 1.26, 1.32. 1.34 and 1.35.
Problem can be reproduced and monitored with Intel Turbo Boost Monitor tool and/or CPU-Z.
Turning
BIOS CPU setting: hyperthreading - off
causes undefined behavior of the turbo boost settings. It works for some reboots. It seems to cause problems more often when the NVidia card is running (either through setting GPU to discrete or by using DisplayPort). Sometimes when taking out AC adapter and plugin back in it won't.All in all very random behavior, but 1 in 4 trials it won't work. Also, when the notebook was off for some time, turbo-boost never works on first boot (need to enter setup at least once, then it will work for some time and reboots).
Symptoms:
Whenever Turbo-Boost is not working, CPU goes only to 2.5 Ghz at max.regardless of energy plan settings.
Switching Hyperthreading back on has (so far) solved the isse (both on AC and battery-without-GPU mode), tested successfully with BIOS 1.32, 1.34 and 1.35. Now we have turbo boost but slightly slower single-core simulationn performance. Not nice, but at least there is a workaround.
Workaround so far (until Lenovo has fixed the BIOS): leave Hyperthreading turned on.
(PS: The service issue was marked as "not solved" and will be send a level higher in Lenovo Support - let's see how this will be taken care of).

Why does MMS work only after turning the iPhone off and on for iOS6?

I got the new iPhone 5. When sending/recieving pictures i have to turn the phone off and then on. For sending, it works for about 5 minutes and then i can't send anymore. I tried turning wifi off and leaving data on, turning LTE and wifi off with data still on, and other combinations. The only time it works is when i just turned it on.

The message you are seeing is telling you that you do not have enough storage on your device. That has nothing to do with iCloud storage.
iCloud storage is storage on Apple's servers hosting your online iCloud account. The storage on your device is local and cannot be expanded - it is whatever you bought with the device (16GB, 32GB, 64GB).
You need to delete things on your device to increase free space on the device itself.
For example, if you have a lot of pictures in your camera roll, you need to sync those to your computer's photo management software and storage, then delete them from you iPad.
You can delete apps you no longer need or use. You can delete messages you no longer read or use.
Bottom line is you need to remove stuff from the iPad itself to free up more space.

Why does keyboard work only after restart

This is an irratic problem. I have pen/pad not mouse but same thing methinks, can open files etc but when it comes to filling in anything it will not allow, sometimes even after restart it works butthenafter abreak I find it will not allow typing again!

I just set up My computer and Airport extreme. Everything works . When I restart it says no connection and directs me to use the diagnostic after about for screens it detects the network and everything is fine. What can I do to resolve this?

Exporting jpgs worked only after restart

What I did:
- Exported some RAWs to JPGs with constrained size. Worked as expected. (Don't know wheter this has something to do with the following:)
- Exported some RAWs to JPGs with full size. The JPGs appeared just for 0.5 seconds in the export folder, den disappeared. After the export, LR said "Error during export. Ignore/Show". No hint what went wrong.
- When I then exported the same RAWs with constrained size 1000x1000, it worked! When changing the size to 1500x1500 or more, I got the same error message again.
- Then I closed LR and started it again. Interesting: I had the same collection of error-RAWs again ;-) Then I tried the full size export again, and it worked.
Strange bug.

USB modem works only after reinserting twice.

I have a strange issue with my Arch Linux setup and ZTE WCDMA modem. I recently bought this modem and trying to connect to internet through wvdial. I initially thought that modem is not being detected under Arch Linux (as it was working fine under Ubuntu and Fedora). Later on I understood that the vendor/ product id is changing when I reinsert the modem. For example, When I insert the modem immedietly after boot, the following is shown as vendor/ product id and modem does not connect to internet:-

Bus 001 Device 008: ID 19d2:fff5 ZTE WCDMA Technologies MSM
Then I have to remove and reinsert the modem. This time device indicator (kde) and dolphin will show as another partition and vendor/ product id will change to following:-
Bus 001 Device 007: ID 19d2:fff1 ZTE WCDMA Technologies MSM
And without any issue modem will connect to the internet through wvdial. How do I over come this issue and connect to internet directly without removing modem?

Any idea?

Query working only after resaving

Hi all,
I am not able to execute a particular query .But other queries work on the same cube. I have been fixing this by re-saving.
Please tell why do we have to go in to queries, that have not been modified and re-save them for them to work?

HI,
Generate your Query in RSRT t-code. Check the appropriate Cache Settings in Properties tab in RSRT.
Whenever you are not able to execute your Query, try to understand the error message. There will be a dump generated in BW system
Make sure you have a BEx Transport request available in RSA1.

File sharing works only after performing a network ping

I've got an odd situation with my 12" iBook G3 800. I connect to my home network through a Linksys router. I never have any trouble connecting to the Internet. However, when I attempt to connect to the shared documents folder on my Windows XP box, the iBook can't see it. Here's the weird part: if I open terminal and ping my Windows box, it takes a few seconds to start pinging, and after that I will be able to successfully connect to the Windows shared documents folder. The next time I want to connect, I have to perform the same procedure. The iBook can never see the shared Windows XP folder until I ping the Windows box. Any ideas anyone? This seems very strange.

I have a similar setup I believe...
Windows XP (wired) <-> Linksys router <-> iBook (wireless)
When you try the connection, are you using an alias on the iBook or using the connect to Server command? If you're using an alias, try the connect route and browse the network.
Also, are both systems in the same Windows "Workgroup". "Directory Access" in the Utilities folder is the Mac app that allows you to configure a Workgroup setting for Windows related communications.

DIMM works only after shut-down and restart

I put a 1GB DIMM (DDR SDRAM PC2100U-25330) in my iBook G4 1.42 GHz about a year ago. It works, according to the Activity Monitor and its often in use when I'm working in Photoshop. But when I install new software and restart, the computer doesn't detect it. I have to shut down and start up again to make it work. I've tried reinstalling the DIMM but no dice. Anyone with a similar experience? Thoughts on how to fix it?

Select Go ▹ Go to Folder… from the Finder menu bar and copy the line below into the text box that opens:
~/Library/Mail
Restore the folder that opens from a backup made before the problem started. Relaunch Mail and test.
