VSC 5.0 Discovery fails to find all SVMs

Virtual Storage Console (VSC) 5.0 will not discover all of the Clustered ONTAP 8.2.1 storage virtual machines (SVM) in our vSphere 5.5 environment.  The cluster and two of the three SVM names will appear in the Storage Systems inventory, but we are unable to show the third SVM without a direct connection.  We prefer to use the cluster administrative LIF to take advantage tunneled auto-discovery and avoid any issues from direct connections to the SVM.  The missing SVM has a management LIF and the ontapi (Remote Administrative API Support) web service is enabled (verified on cluster via “vserver services web show”).  We also tried restarting the VSC service per the VSC 5.0 with two ONTAP Clusters discussion. What might we be missing?

Hi, I also had the same issue with VSC 6.0 where the SVM was not being displayed. Here is the solution that worked for me:Check there is a domain-tunnel created for you vserver. EG cluster1>domain-tunnel show If your vserver is not displayed in the output then create a domain-tunnel. EG cluster1>domain-tunnel create -vserver vserver1 /matt

  • Searching Calendar fails to find all events

First, this program is no longer called iCal. I understand the change, but others may be confused.
Second, when searching for all events with a certain word, it is clear that not all events are being returned.
I'm using Calendar under OS-X 10.9.2 and the calendars are iCloud based.
There seems to be no logic to the events that ought to be caught by the search but that are omitted. I'm estimating only about a third of events matching my search criteria (just a word, like "Volunteer") are being returned. I can see all the events with that word in the calendar but they don't all turn up in a search.
I tried re-indexing with mdimport to no avail. This makes Calendar nearly useless, if search is not reliable.

  • Find All Occurrences always fails within loop

    Dear forumers,
There's this strange problem that requires a fix.
Finding all occurences of '#' works fine here:-
    REPORT  zz_test.
    DATA: lv_text TYPE string,
          ls_result TYPE match_result,
          et_release type table of yytc_release,
          lt_result  TYPE match_result_tab.
    lv_text = '"RFC-1234#Create ""Payroll"" under NL directory"'.
FIND ALL OCCURRENCES OF REGEX '#'
                IN lv_text
RESULTS lt_result IGNORING CASE IN CHARACTER MODE.
      IF sy-subrc = 0.   " SY-SUBRC is always 0
        READ TABLE lt_result INTO ls_result INDEX 1.
        WRITE :'Offset: ' .
        WRITE: ls_result-offset .
        WRITE: lv_text+00(ls_result-offset).
      ENDIF.
But it always fails here, within a loop at an internal table:-
    SELECT * .... INTO TABLE it_jira ...
    LOOP AT it_jira ASSIGNING <jira>.
      <release>-summary = <jira>-summary.
      IF <release>-type CS 'Subtask'.
        " <release>-summary is of data type CHAR255
        PERFORM get_subtask USING <release>-summary.
      ENDIF.
    ENDLOOP.
    FORM get_subtask  USING    pv_summary TYPE yytc_release-summary.
      DATA:
        lv_string  TYPE char255,
        lv_final   TYPE char255,
        lv_summary TYPE string,
        lv_strlen  TYPE i,
        lt_result  TYPE match_result_tab.
      lv_string = pv_summary.     " LV_STRING = '"RFC-1234#Create ""Payroll"" under NL directory"''
      CONDENSE lv_string.
      lv_strlen = STRLEN( lv_string ).
      lv_strlen = lv_strlen - 1.
      IF lv_string+0(1) = '"' AND lv_string+lv_strlen(1) = '"'.
        lv_strlen = lv_strlen - 1.
        WRITE lv_string+1(lv_strlen) TO lv_final+1(254).
      ENDIF.
      lv_summary = lv_final.
"  FIND ALL OCCURRENCES OF '#'
    "      IN lv_summary
    "    RESULTS lt_result IGNORING CASE.   * SY-SUBRC is always 4 here too
FIND ALL OCCURRENCES OF REGEX '#'
          IN lv_summary
RESULTS lt_result IGNORING CASE IN CHARACTER MODE.
      IF sy-subrc = 0.    " SY-SUBRC is always 4 here - why?!  :(
      ENDIF.
      CLEAR: lv_string,
             lt_result.
    ENDFORM.                    " GET_SUBTASK
Only when the string LV_SUMMARY is edited from within the debugger (add space to the string prefix, etc), the SY-SUBRC will be 0 and there'll be data found in LT_RESULT.
How can I resolve this issue? Please do help. Thanks.

I think the subtle difference is that in your first example the character is actually '#' whereas in the second example it is actually another (unprintable)value such-as line-feed and only APPEARS to be '#'.
You must find out what the value in question is(will it always be the same value?) and then replace that instead of '#'.

  • Migration Assistant - Computers fail to find each other - Dell Windows 7hp to iMac OS X Mavericks - all firewalls on both machines are disabled

I dont post here often but after a few days of trying different things I am at a loss so here it goes:
Previous Machine: c2009 Dell, Windows 7 Home Premium
New Machine: late 2012 iMac, OS X Mavericks, Parallels 10 Installed
Both computers connected to existing business network via ethernet. All firewalls and updates are disabled on both computers, screen savers and sleep modes are also disabled.
The first strategy was to transfer data using the Parallels Migration Wizard. The wizard finds the PC and begins the transfer, but gets to about 1/5 progress and hangs/ stops every time in the same spot. I disabled everything (firewall, etc.) I can think of on the windows PC and it still hangs in the same place every time.
The second strategy was to use the Migration Assistant that came on the iMac. The computers fail to find each other every time. so I haven't been able to even start the process. Searching on the iMac Network folder I can find and access the Dell (after changing security settings on the Dell to allow this). From the Dell Network folder I am not able to find or access the iMac.
So, I have submitted a help request to Parallels to see what they can do to help, but I also wanted to reach out here in case someone has experienced this before.
    Thanks

  • Untrusted Forest Discovery failed

I'm having a issue with remote untrusted forest.  Forest Discovery fails, but I can publish site server information to this forest.
ERROR: [ForestDiscoveryAgent]: Failed to connect to forest domain.com. This can be because of disjoint DNS namespaces, network connectivity or server availibility issue. Error Information The specified forest does not exist or cannot be contacted.
    Entering function ReportForestConnectionFailureStatusMessage()
    Calling ReportStatus, keys= SMS_AD_FOREST_DISCOVERY_MANAGER, -2147474744, 2
I have configured conditional forwarders between forests and name resolution works. There shouldn't be any firewall issues either and I tested SRV records via nslookup with this method
Type nslookup, and then press ENTER.
Type set type=all, and then press ENTER.
Type _ldap._tcp.dc._msdcs.<var>Domain_Name</var>, where <var>Domain_Name</var> is the name of your domain, and then press ENTER.
Nslookup lists correct domain controllers from remote forest.
Any ideas what could be causing this? I think it's AD related problem.

    LDAP://DCNAME.domain.com/OU=Computers,DC=domain,DC=com
I tested this last week and this works. Now I can discover computer objects from untrusted forest. There must be something wrong with the ad/dns infrastructure becasue
normally you dont need to specify domain controller directly because it should find it with srvlookup.

    Hello SCCMadmin09,
Is there anything special about those failing agents? E.g. version of the agents is a bit different from the others?
I remember something about removing dependency on Microsoft.Mom.Common a while back, so if a workflow from old version tries to execute on the box with new version without this dependency - it'll fail.
You can check the presence of this file in C:\Windows\Assembly and in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Monitoring Agent - if it's not there, then agent is of a version where it was already removed.
If the issues is indeed in the versioning - then the fix should be a matter of a proper update of Agent-SCOM combination and/or maybe some MPs.
That's all theories, of course... I hope this helps at least a bit.

  • SCCM 2012 SP1 - Offline Servicing failure - Failed to find or access the update binaries to be applied on the image

    Hi there
Trying to patch a new Windows 7 SP1 image within SCCM 2012 SP1, but it's failing.
I've searched for information on the failure messages I am seeing, but although there is a LOT of information online concerning Offline Servicing failures, I can't find anything on the errors I am seeing.
I've tried injecting a single update, five updates and ten updates, no difference, same messages.
We have McAfee Access Protection disabled, as we know Offline Servicing simply won't work if this is running.
In the console, in Schedule Update Status for the image I am trying to update, the following message is shown:
"Failed to find or access the update binaries to be applied on the image."
That sounds as if the process can't find the actual .cab file for any update I've tried to inject, but I don't know why it wouldn't be able to do that, we have Software Updates configured and the .cab files are on the same server.
When I looked at the OfflineServicingMgr.log file, I see the following entries:

I'm not sure what file "Failed to find properties of file 4" is referring to, whether dism.exe, an update or the image itself, but immediately after this message appears the image is unmounted. After that this message shows:
"Completed processing image package PackageID. Status = Failed"
As I say, there's a lot of information available re Offline Servicing but I haven't found anything with these particular messages.
If anyone has encountered this before, I'd appreciate any information you have.
    Regards,
    John.

    Hi,
I think file named 'NO_SMS_ON_DRIVE.SMS’ might be causing this issue. If this file is present in logical drives, then please give it a shot one more time after deleting this file from the logical drives.
Due to this file, it might be preventing 'smsexec' service to skip the drive when looking for content. So worth a try!
After deleting this file, you also need to restart 'smsexec' service to reflect the changes. You can also verify from below registry value & ensure that all of your logical drives (specially where SCCMContentLib directory resides) should be listed
    over there
    'HKLM\Software\Microsoft\SMS\DP\ContentLibUsableDrives'
    Hope this will help!

  • Windows 8.1 not booting : "Boot manager failed to find OS loader"

    Hello all,
I know this question came up before, but I have being trying to fix this for many days now, without luck and I feel I need some new ideas...
    The short story:
My Windows 8.1 is not booting, and gets trapped in cycle of Boot Manager until I tell the UEFI to boot from disk or USB
I can boot up from external CD or USB Windows RE, from which I can get to prompt line
In the log file in C:\Windows\System 32\LogFiles\Srt\SrtTrail.txt I read:
Boot manager failed to find OS loader
Repair Action File Repair à Failed (err code 0x4001)
Repair Action Boot Config Data Store Repair à Failed (err code 0x2)
       4. My disk is GPT partitioned, with UEFI Bios
       5. I tried the typical Bootrec commands: FixMbr, FixBoot, ScanOs, RebuildBCD but I always get the error:
    Identified Windows install:0
        6. I tried Bcdedit but I get:
the boot configuration data (BCD) store could not be opened
        7. I tried to create a new BCD store in the FAT32 partition (temporarily named "v:\") with
    bcdboot c:\Windows  /l en-gb  /s  v: /f ALL
    but I get:
Failure when attempted to copy boot files
        8. Finally, I noticed that in
      C:\Windows\System32\
I DO NOT have the file  winload.efi
    while in: ESP\EFI\Microsoft\Boot\
I DO have the file   Bootmgfw.efi
One question I have is: Is it possible to copy a "healthy" winload.efi from somewhere in my PC into C:\Windows\System32\ ?
Where (which path) could I find it?
Any other ideas? Please help !!!!
Many thanks!! This is literarily driving me crazy because I really don't want to reinstall windows....

    Hello Kermit_70,
    What is your current situation?
Please try the suggestion as aw00t mentioned.
Additionally, please try to use Automatic Repair to fix problems that keep Windows from loading.
For more information, please take a look at the following article.

  • SP3 Upgrade fails to find Weblogic Server 6.1 installed

    Hello,
I have just downloaded SP3 for WLS 6.1. The machine´s im trying to install it on
are a Sun box with solaris 8 and an intel box with redhat 7.2, the problem im encounting,
when i install the service pack, is that the installer fails to find my install of
weblogic 6.1 (on both machines its a default install /bea/wlserver6.1/). I have tried
several ways of installing it, and all so far have failed. Anyone else had this problem
    Thanks
    Bobby
Below is a snippet of the install .
    Choose BEA Home Directory
    1- /bea
    Existing BEA Home: 1

    WebLogic Server 6.1 not found
WebLogic Server Service Pack 3 Installation failed.
You do not seem to have WebLogic Server 6.1
    installed for BEAHOME /bea.
Exiting the Service Pack 3 installer...:

I had the same problem , the solution I found was to edit the file registry.xml (in
the same directory as the license file).
In my case the installation files where copied from another installation and had
the wrong information in the registry.xml about paths and machine name

Right before, the error you mentioned, I see a couple of file not found message. You might want to check those, still it can be anything from a file that doesn't exist till too little disk space.

  • Real racing 3 - error, failed to find players

    Hi, first time here.
love RR3 but the online multiplayer can be a pain.
at times when I try to race it will be fine, but then often after a race when I want to race again it comes up with 'error, failed to find players', and once that happens I have to leave the game for a while, turn ipad off and on or reset ipad to be allowed to race again. This is with online multiplayer only, everything else works well. No perceived problems with game centre synching or my internet.
    any ideas?
    david.

    Hey Bendigodave,
One thing that may be happening is one or more of the players you just played with has left the party. If you mean when you exit out of a party and start another matchmaking, then you first want to check your internet speed and connection. you can download a speed test app for that. Secondly, a nice fresh start for your Game Center account may help. Signing out of Game Center by going to Settings>Game Center> Tapping on your blue apple ID and signing out, then signing back in. Maybe that will help something out? If not, make sure you're updated to the latest version of the app and iPad. 7.0.3 is a couple versions behind. iPads are currently on 7.1.2. If all else fails, contact EA about it. they have excellent customer service. I hope this helps!

I have a 2009 MB Pro. I have been trying to do some cleaning of files and discovered that in Finder, All Images, I am experiencing a frustrating problem. I spent a few hours trashing over 4K images and within a few hours, I had as many more.  I did a couple of thousand trashed images and half hour later, more arrived. There are a lot of images that seem off the internet, including gif.s, png.s. Help!

First, back up all data immediately, as your boot drive might be failing.
There are a few other possible causes of generalized slow performance that you can rule out easily.
    Reset the System Management Controller.
If you have many image or video files on the Desktop with preview icons, move them to another folder.
If applicable, uncheck all boxes in the iCloud preference pane.
Disconnect all non-essential wired peripherals and remove aftermarket expansion cards, if any.
Check your keychains in Keychain Access for excessively duplicated items.
If you have more than one user account, you must be logged in as an administrator to carry out this step.
Launch the Console application in the same way you launched Activity Monitor. Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
Select the 50 or so most recent entries in the log. Copy them to the Clipboard (command-C). Paste into a reply to this message (command-V). You're looking for entries at the end of the log, not at the beginning.
When posting a log extract, be selective. Don't post more than is requested.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some personal information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting. That should be easy to do if your extract is not too long.

  • Spatial query to find all partially aligned lines

    Hi There.
I need to find all partially aligned polylines in the layer (interiors have 1-dimentionali intersection). Actually, polylies may a little fluctuate along each other, but that spatial disjointment shouldn't exceed some certain tolerance. It doesn't matter if polylines are touching each other or cover.
What spatial operators/functions will you suggest to use to perform that stuff?
For example next lines for me are partially aligned in tolerance 0.01 (query result is TOUCH):
    select sdo_geom.relate(
    mdsys.sdo_geometry(2002,null,null, mdsys.sdo_elem_info_array(1,2,1), mdsys.sdo_ordinate_array(1,1,4,4)),
    'determine',
    mdsys.sdo_geometry(2002,null,null, mdsys.sdo_elem_info_array(1,2,1), mdsys.sdo_ordinate_array(1.1,1,3.015,3)),
    0.01) relationship
    from dual;
Note: I can't use buffers because it isn't stable for me :( see: SDO_GEOM.SDO_BUFFER failed with ORA-13050
    Thank you in advance, Denis.

    Thank you for quick response!
The lines are valid at that tolerance.
I think that TOUCH+COVERS+COVEREDBY will not be sufficient for me. Because I'm interested in next cases: OVERLAPBDYINTERSECT, INSIDE, CONTAINS, COVERS (any operator which includes overlapping for lines). I can use union of all those masks, but TOUCH will return me many redundant candidates (Often lines are touch but not overlapping, like: (1,1,2,2) VS (2,2,3,3)). The TOUCH works for me if one poliline touches the other and goes along it some time (like I showed above). Hope I was clear :).
