VST instruments causing Premiere Pro not to load

I just ordered the Native instruments Komplete 9 vst instruments and now since that is loaded on the computer I cant even start PP. I use CS5 and I don't want Adobe premiere pro to load my vst instruments because I will NEVER use them in this program. Is there a way to fix this? It just gets stuck here.

Jim> Looking at the file sizes in explorer you appear to be correct! All files that trigger weirdness are 1.9 gb exactly in size with the clip following being much shorter.
Stripping away the camera metadata will allow me to preserve my previous projects as they are.
But for current and future projects I definitely will be using the Media browser as my method of import as Jeff suggests. Allowing me to keep the camera metadata and not have my projects magically fall apart at a future date. :-)
Makes one wonder why right-click importing of MTS files is allowed at all when camera metadata is present.
I certainly had no idea I was doing anything wrong until several months later when projects I'd long since completed were (until now) inexplicably busted.
Thanks guys. Never thought I'd say this but I miss tape.

  • How to use VST Plugins from Premiere Pro CS5 in Adobe Audition 3.0 ?

I have tried to use VST plugins from Premiere Pro CS5 into Adobe Audition 3.0, but could not use it.Is any method to use them ?

Unless I'm mistaken, you can't do this at all - Adobe lock all their VST effects so that they only work with the app they were intended for. Which also means, of course, that you can't use Audition VST plugins with any other software either. Since Audition isn't currently in the CS, there isn't even an exception there, I suspect.

  • Premiere Pro CS6 stopped loading correctly - will not load new or existing projects?

It's been about a month since was last editing a project succesfully. When I try to load a new or existing projecet, I get the error message "Adobe premiere pro has stopped working. Windows is searching for a solution..." But there is no solution given, it just closes. I have tried updating my NVIDIA driver with no luck. I am running on Windows 8.1 64 bit. Anyone else have a similar problem?

    Thanks for your reply, GautamBahl.
So I did have two graphics cards running, disabled the onboard one and still did not work.
I created a new admin account on my PC, and I am able to create a new project in Premiere now (am not able to while signed into my original account). Since all of my files and settings are on my original Windows account,  I would like to get it working on that account. Do my findings give any indication as to how to fix the problem so that I am able to run Premiere signed in to my normal user account?
    I appreciate the feedback!

  • What is causing Premiere Pro CC to hang?

The issues I'm experiencing never seemed to happen to me when I was on CS6....I'm on a mid 2011 iMac 3.4ghz i7 with 16gb of RAM and the AMD 6970M GPU with 1GB of VRAM and I'm editing ProRes 422 footage. My apps and OS are all on a recently added SSD.
But a few things are happening on Premiere CC (7.0.1) that are driving me nuts and I don't know what's causing it:
    1) First, if I have two sequences open and I don't go to one for a while, when I do go and open that tab it hangs for about 15-20 seconds. The render bar is red and I can't scrub through any of the clips as it appears to be loading or something. Then it suddenly clicks in, the render bar turns yellow and I can edit away like normal. What is causing it to hang like that? I don't remember this ever happening on CS6. Is this a hard drive thing (eventhough my new scratch drive is 3x's as fast)? Or maybe a GPU Acceleration thing or a VRAM thing since before on CS6 I wasn't GPU Accelerated since my card isn't "officially supported" although it does ahve 1GB or VRAM? Or is this a Premiere Pro CC thing and I just have to get used to it? Or something else? When I'm in "software only" mode the render bar stays red since my footage is 60fps on a 24fps timeline, but with GPU acceleration the render bar goes yellow and makes it noticably smoother to scrub, etc.
    2) Similarly, when I'm editing for a while and I add the gaussian blur effect, the program hangs for another 15 seconds or so before I can scrub or play. It doesn't happen when I first start up PPro, but usually happens more frequently after I've been editing for a while. So why is it hanging? I'm guessing #1 and #2 are related but again, I never experienced this 15-20 second hang time on CS6.
At one point tonight, the app actually froze up after adding a gaussian blur and I had to force close. My auto-save wasn't working for some reason either (I had it saving to Dropbox) so I lost about an hour of work since I had last hit save. Frustrating.
Anyone have any ideas or ways to find out what is causing this? Any solutions?
A little back story and specs: Recently my scratch hard drive crashed so I got a newer much faster hard drive, plus I installed a SSD into my 2011 iMac to run the apps off of. The app loads fast and for the most part editing is fairly snappy and I can keep the Preview window at Full resolution with no stuttering when editing ProRes422 footage. I can also take advantage of GPU acceleration now on PPro CC because my iMac has 1GB of VRAM (eventhough the card is not "officially" supported (AMD 6970M)).

Nothing jumps out, but I have a routine that I do whenever Pr acts up, which is way too often:
    1.  Trash Preferences (fixes most Pr problems when "it's just not working right").
    2.  Delete media caches and previews (ditto).  Do this after each application crash or hang.
    3.  Check for corrupt media in your project.  That can cause major performance degradation, freezes and crashes.  Remove or transcode problem media to some other format.
    4.  Reboot the computer (Pr has RAM leaks) or much faster, open the Terminal, and type in "purge" (no quote marks) and hit Return every so often.  You can tell you're out of RAM when you open the Activity Monitor > System Memory tab, and there's no Free RAM left.  Free RAM defaults to the green color.  A lot of blue (Inactive RAM) is caused by Pr.  It's RAM that's not accessible.  Low RAM causes performance issues, and I'm gobsmacked that Adobe hasn't fixed this problem yet.  Purging will turn the blue Inactive RAM into Free RAM.  The longer you work in Pr, the less Free RAM becomes available.
Those things clear up 99% of my problems.
    5.  Run Disk Warrior (esp. if you're getting beach balls, AND every time after a computer (not application) crash or freeze).
    6.  Re-install the application.
    7.  If you have an external video (BMD, AJA, etc.) or audio card that requires third-party drivers, remove them and see if the problem vanishes.
    8.  Re-install graphics drivers (this has fixed display issues for me, such as video not updating in real-time).
I know that's a lot of stuff, but I make my living using Pr and Ae, and it's vital I keep them working and don't encounter any job-stopping problems.
A lot of people suggest Repairing Permissions, but this is mostly useless advice.  You only need to do that if you're getting directory access denied or can't write file errors.  However, it can't hurt.

  • The new Import Sequence feature causes Premiere Pro CC to CRASH!

*** This was happening before the update, and the update to 7.01 has not fixed this issue.***
I have a series of intros and end slates for a YouTube series.  I (kind of) love the new Import Sequence from Project feature, new in PPr CC.  But more often than not, trying to import a sequence from another project using the Media Browser causes Premiere to crash.  Can anyone else report whether this is NOT working for you, too.  I can imagine scenarios where you either don't use this feature, or haven't gotten around to it since the launch of CC.
Thanks in advance for anyone who is willing to test and verify whether this is a bug.
    Win7 64-bit
    ASUS g75vx Laptop
    i7-3630qm
    NVIDIA GTX-670mx, 3GB GDDR5
    16GB RAM

Well, certainly one of my sequences (let's call it "A") always causes a crash.  Sequence B was NOT causing a crash last week.  Today sequence B started crashing (in 7.0).  So I updated to 7.01 and tried again.  Still crashing (always, now).  So I set out to create a new sequence C.
To create sequence C, I opened a successfully completed project from last week.  I Saved As... "New Opening Sequences".  Next, I cut away every sequence except for the sequence that holds the intro.  I did a Project > Remove Unused to get rid of all the footage, titles, etc.  Now I had a project that only contained Sequence C and it's linked media.  Nothing is offline.  Everything is in tact.
Finally, I open the project I need to finish today.  I need to add the bumper to the front of the video.  So I navigate within the Media Browser to find the "New Opening Sequences" project.  I double click.  I get the yellow, dynamic link-like loading bar.  When the project media, bins and sequences appear, I double-click the sequence I want to impor.... KKKKKEHEHHE!!!  Crash.
I'll restart to get you the exact error message...
WOW!!!  I just left this window open to go get the exact error message for you.  I went through the same steps above.  It worked this time.  So to answer your question, Sequence C is also hit or miss.  This is the first successful attempt today (about 10 previous tries, restarts, etc).
Definitely seems like a bug.  Can anyone else reproduce this crash?
P.S. - Perhaps it's significant, perhaps not:  In all cases, A, B and C, these sequences have Dynamic Linked footage from After Effects (animations).  While they do have some live-action, they are primarily AE animations.  This may help you reproduce the crash.
I'm also not running anything unusual.  Mainly the OS, a browser, Webroot SecureAnywhere (Anti-virus), Premiere.

  • Premiere Pro Freezes in Loading GoPro MOV footages

I noticed a problem in loading up GoPro MOV footages everytime I open my project file. The MOV footages was a transcode from the MP4 original files.
I've worked with 1080 resolutions and 2.7k resolutions.
I had to force quite everytime my Premiere Pro.
Weird thing is that once I tried to open a different project file that also uses GoPro MOV footages, it loads up fine. I close it, and open the problematic one, then it loads up fine.
I have a weird feeling that its like my OSX has problems reading that MOV footages thats why it also affected Premiere Pro. And not just loading up the files that are on the timeline and Program Monitor, even when browsing in Media Browser the thumbnail doesn't appear, and the Source Monitor is also blank too.

does anybody has a clue that I can venture into?
    My Premiere;
    Premiere Pro CC 2014 8.2.0 (65)

Yea, there've been a lot of changes that have been needed in workflow patterns as CC came in and has transmogrified itself. There's still some that feel that one simply SHOULD transcode into Editing Codecs because ... well, it's the Professional Way to Work. But those started when NLE's couldn't take a lot of "original" camera codecs, and the codecs themselves were often ... problematic. Testing footage both native & trans-coded, working the same effects, then exported and viewed with a fine-tooth eyeball is a good thing. And what a lot of people have found ... with decent computers, and the CC Adobe apps, the camera codec/format works as well.
Now ... there are specific things & time do do a transcode, such as bringing 4k 4:2:0 footage down to 1080 4:2:2, which with the right transcoding is a complete 4:2:2 and not "just 420 in a 422 named wrapper" as some have thought. And many others. But ... MP4 and PrPro have come a long way recently.
That whole dang thing of it's been working & just stopped, on a machine that SHOULD work ... dangnably maddening. Especially with the problem of it sometimes works.

  • Premiere Pro not accepting MOV files

I'm running Premiere Pro CC for the first time today since the most recent update and am finding that it won't let me import MOV files. When I try to drag them in PP tells me that file type is not supported. Does anyone know why this happened and how to fix it?

    Good point.
Running PP CC 7.1 (looks like there's an update for 7.2 but CC says I'm up to date)
    Running Windows 7
    Trying to load H.264 MOV
The error says that file type is not supported
This is the first time this has happened
Attached is a photo of what file types PP says I can import.

  • Why does Premiere Pro not show in the Creative Cloud

I just bought the montly membership, paid, got the confirmation, but still Premiere Pro does not show in my Creative Cloud options - under audio/video it only shows  and Photoshop, Prelude and Audition.
When I use the link in the email confirmation that I received I can press 'getting started'.
This leads me to the online Creative Cload Download - when I scroll to Premiere Pro, click on download I go to the next page, but still the program does not show?
What should I do differently? I am logged in already.
    Please help me!

Do you have a 64-bit machine?  Normally the listing will only include programs that your machine is capable of running.  Check your machine capabilities against the requirements for Premiere Pro and see if it comes up short.

  • Adding metadata in Prelude but Premiere Pro not retaining it after closing

While in Prelude in CC, I'm adding metadata in the Dynamic Media list; i.e., Scene, Shot Name, Shot Number.... I save the clips after each update and send it over to Premiere Pro by highlighting all the clips.  It arrives in Premiere Pro with the info attached and visible on the clip and in the metadata.  I save Premiere Pro and Prelude and when i reopen Premiere Pro there's no information there anymore; it's there in Prelude when I reopen that.  Not sure what's happening.  I did save the metadata separately also.

    Hi Jenny,
thank you for taking the time to reply.
The media is from a Canon 7D  ( MVI_####.mov ) shot in full HD in

as I'm answering this email i'm checking that project... and now it's there
again in full.  I was missing metadata in the first 3 rows of data
information.... Scene, Shot Name & Shot Number.  I used those three columns
because that was the order in the metadata check list.
This is on my Win 7 computer w an Nvidia quadro fx 3800 card and 8 gigs of
ram.... I am still having some of the same issues as well on my Mac OS

I'm not sure if this problem will be persisting... right now it's
inconsistent.  will continue testing on both computers... not ready to put
    it into my workflow yet.

  • Premiere Pro: Not Playing Timeline, Not Rendering Full Sequence, Stalling on One Frame

    2013 iMac // 10.9.3 // Premiere Pro CC 2014 (latest update)
I have been editing a project for a few days, and it just started giving me issues on my last run through it before exporting.
I have dealt with many problems with PP before, but I honestly don't even know what's going wrong here. I cannot pinpoint the issue. It seems to be a number of things. I started by updating PP and CUDA. Nothing. So I continued.
    1) I was having problems rendering, so I figured I'd delete the preview files and start from scratch. When rendering the entire project, it would get to about 60%, then stop and hang there. After five minutes of watching it, I would quit PP. Even though it would look like it had quit, it would still be running in Activity Monitor and the little light underneath it in the dock would be on, so I have to force quit.
    2) It was odd because the spot where it stops rendering is the sport where, if I scroll through the timeline, the Program window will freeze on one frame. Then it doesn't matter how much I move the playhead, it won't show any other frames. Nor will the sequence play at all after this. So I'd quit again.
    3) I went back to another project and rendered everything in it - fine and dandy.
Why is this giving me such a problem? If anyone needs anything else from me to properly diagnose this, please just say so! Thanks for the help.

Sorry 'bout the time lag. Our new firm just started its first large project, and as the tech geek for the photo-part of it, been kinda busy.
So there's clearly a problem with the project file having gotten corrupted, but ... when it hits the footage it choked on before, it choked again. There's some kind of glitch here that has to to with PrPro interacting with those files. I'm wondering if a file header somewhere has a digit that can confuse PrPro or something? I do recall a couple issues of a similar nature that eventually involved people sending a bit of the nasty footage to an Adobe staffer, who poked through behind the scenes and found something that was not exactly what it might best have been in a header or something. Altered that, PrPro & footage liked each other again, everybody else happy. But that's the sort of ish that one needs experience at ... and I've got none.
There's been times also where people have split a project up ... right on the edge of the Problem. Three parts to their project, in separate project files. First "good" part, and rendered it out as a separate project. Next project, the "troubled" footage that worked by itself, as again its own project, and rendered out. Then the final & also untroubled part, again rendered out. I've heard of both taking those into QuicktimePro (if appropriate codec) and uniting in one continuous piece, I've also heard of people who took three PrPro projects that had been rendered out separately (if I recall one was probably about six parts, a long & complex bugger) and brought those rendered-out parts back in to make a final project with everything in it. In fact, there are a number of people who split their larger projects into chunks, that are finished separately, then combined in a final PrPro project for final polishing as their normal work habit.
    Best wishes ...

  • Premiere Pro Not Accepting .PRPROJ File Extension

    Hi,
Have just purchased the official Adobe tutorial book "Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 Classroom in a Book" to learn the fundamentals of the programme and being a "newbie" have encountered numerous problems.
The most frustrating is when I go to open the lesson files with a .prproj file extension in PP it comes up error message "file format not supported"
This seems odd though as the the lesson file names appear in the project panel but are not openable files.
Given that this is an Adobe inhouse file extension being opened by Adobe software am really frustrated that it's this difficult.
Have aready defaulted the ,prproj file on my PC to open with PP Cs3 which I thought would cure it, but no go!! Any help would be most appreciated.

The message appears after I click on "open project" and then click on the file within the "select file dialogue box".
But something is amiss here, after ejecting the dvd, I opened premiere and then open project (from the "lessons" folders on my h/drive now) and the file I was having problems with is not showing.
All the "Lesson" folders are there but some of the files that were showing when the dvd was present are not there! The one in particular that I was trying to work on was 4-2 which was in the lesson 04 folder.
What I will try and do is open the "lesson" folders on the dvd and transfer the files within seperately as opposed to transferring the unopened folder as before.
Thanks for your time so far ,will come back tomorrow.

  • Premiere Pro Not installing

I downloaded the Master Collection, and every program installs fine except for Premiere Pro. I'm not sure why it doesn't work and I don't recall any specific error messages besides " Premiere Pro will not install" Here are my computer specs:
    OS: Windows 7 64 bit
    Screen Resolution: 1280x1024
    Processor: Q6600 @ 2.4Ghz
    RAM: 3GB
    GPU: 8600 GTS
    HDD: 320 GB
Any ideas why it won't install? I just wiped my HDD and reloaded 64 bit from 32 bit, and After Effects then worked but not Premiere.
    Thanks for your time.

We cannot know. You are not providing any system information. Such issues are most of the time driver issues where certain DLLs are not released/ unloaded from memory.

  • Premiere Pro not starting up

Premiere Pro CC is not even starting up. I very recently purchased the CC annual subscription and all the other apps are working fine except for premiere pro. It just wouldn't start up. A window comes up saying "Premiere pro has stopped working. Windows is checking for solutions". I have tried installing and uninstalling the app again and then tried quitting and signing out of creative cloud. Nothing seems to be working.
