Vxiinit unable to intialize config engine
I'm running VXI driver version 2.1 on a Red Hat Linux Operating system. When I try to run vxiinit prior to running resman, I get the following error message:
"vxiinit unable to initialize config engine"
What is the config engine?
Never mind....I figured out the problem....
My NIVXIPATH environment variable was set incorrectly.

Unable to Intialize HDV deck - can anyone pls help me with this FCE Issue?
I have recently moved from a MacBook Pro (circa 2 yrs old) to a new MacBook Pro with the NEW firewire 800 port. I have bought a new firewire cable and my camera does not want to be capture from my Sony A1E.
I have a MacBook Pro 2.8ghz running on OS X 10.6.2 and have all the updates installed for FCE.
Every time i try to capture the message comes up "Unable to Intialize HDV deck. Please make sure a deck is connected and try again".
The System is set up to receive the correct frame rate footage and type of footage (which is: HDV-Apple Intermediate Codec 1080i50. Formats: All formats). I am running on PAL, so 25fps.
Is there any advice / direction that you could give me at all as I am struggling!
Any help support would be appreciated!
Thanks, MartinHi,
Would you confirm that you are using a 9-pin to 4-pin FW cable to connect to your camcorder and that your camcorder is the only FW device connected to your Mac.
When you start up FCE with the camera connected to your Mac and already powered on in VTR mode, does FCE 'see' the camera, or do you get a warning message that FCE is "Unable to locate the following external devices ..." ? -
"Unable to open config file" Error when starting tomcat
hi all,
Here is the output from two of the log files when I start tomcat4 on my linux box. I have configured the mod_jk on the tomcat side.
From the output of the second log file, it seems that the ajp13 worker I defined was started successfully. What I don't understand is the following:
1) In catalina.out, where des the line 'Unable to open config file' come from? Which config file?
2) Tomcat4 is supposed to generate a mod_jk.conf automatically, but I don't see any file generated in 'conf/auto/'.

2002-08-16 01:05:29 Ajp13Processor[8009][4] Starting background threadI have all those files too.
I think the 'config file' mentioned in the error log is the mod_jk.conf.
On Jason Hunter's tomcat4 guide, it says don't use the tomcat4 RPM to installed. What is the difference bettween the RPM version and the tar.gz version? The only difference I can think of is that in the RPM version, the conf directory is in the 'etc/tomcat4/conf'. Could it be the reason that tomcat4 cannot read the config file? But it has no problem reading the server.xml though. -

Farooq.Hi ,
I got the same error in my scenario and i solved the same.Actually i ma not pretty surte this will solve your problem.
In my case proxy generation settings was mis configured in the sender system. so its caused the problem
I made an entry in the SPROXSET table and i did other activities like RFC and application system also.
Then its worked for me. Its not matching with your case please do ignore this one

Usb 1-7: unable to read config index 0 descriptor/start -71
On my laptop (Asus N550LF) this message appears repeatedly during boot. Once X is running it seems to stop, although it could just be that I cant see the output!
There are few posts for usb 1-7: unable to read config index 0 descriptor/start -71 but they all seem to suggest it's a USB device. This happens whether or not I have anything plugged into USB.
Is there anything I can do to debug this further?May or may not be helpful:

Do you have settings in BIOS affecting support for USB? E.g. sometimes there are options to enable/disable support for different ways of accessing stuff or different versions of stuff. -
Unable to deploy ALBPM Engine EAR
Hello,
We were using ALBPM Version: 6.0.3 build 86775; after upgrading to Version: 6.0.4 build 92179 added an engine with all the required configuration (in process administrator) and created the engine EAR. But I am unable to install the engine EAR to the WebLogic Server. The installation goes on (the progress bar in process administrator continues to move). In the WLS console the status of the engine EAR appears as "Running Deployment" And in the server log the following <Error> message keeps appearing every 10 mins:

I'm still using 6.03 release but I did have a lot of problems initially with cross platform version compatibility. You might need to check the Release notes for the R4 release to see if it is still compatible with the release of WebLogic you are using.

Ciscoworks unable to collect config in RME due to firewall?
My CW is unable to collect the config in RME
I'm using CDP, OSPF, and BGP for discovery..
I udnerstand that CW use snmp read community string to discover network devices. I can see CW pick up the devices in the device management list, but when I do a ssh credential check, the devices behind the firewall fails. The snmp R & W credentials are correct I can logon to the network device using the primary account without an problem. What could be the problem? What do I need check/perform in order to collect the aconfig for archive. Do I need to open a port on the firewall for CDP traffic? Other devices (not behind the firewall) works fine.
Your input is greatly appreciated.Im running RME 4.3.1
Attached is the screenshot [2] of unsuccessful configs archive and inventory collection failures.
Here are e error messages:

I can logon (using putty) without a problem using the same account. -
Unable to launch service engine on UC560
Having UC560, I cannot open session to service engine to perform factory reset. Here is what I've tried to do.
1. Copy factory config UC560-T1E1-K9-factory-8.6.0.cfg to startup-config and power-down/power-up UC560.
2. Then try to enter service engine with the following command:
service-module integrated-Service-Engine 0/0 se
But it stuck on the following message:
Trying 10.1.10.2, 2002 ...
Connection timed out; remote host not responding
3. OK, here is my show ip interface brief:
Interface IP-Address OK? Method Status Protocol
GigabitEthernet0/0 192.168.1.210 YES DHCP up up
In0/0 10.1.10.2 YES TFTP up up
GigabitEthernet0/1/0 unassigned YES unset up down
GigabitEthernet0/1/1 unassigned YES unset up down
GigabitEthernet0/1/2 unassigned YES unset up up
GigabitEthernet0/1/3 unassigned YES unset up up
Vlan1 192.168.10.1 YES NVRAM up up
Vlan90 10.1.10.2 YES NVRAM up down
Vlan100 10.1.1.1 YES NVRAM up down
NVI0 unassigned YES unset administratively down down
I see that Vlan90 and In0/0 have got the same IP. Here is my show ip route:
S* 0.0.0.0/0 [254/0] via 192.168.1.130
192.168.1.0/24 is variably subnetted, 2 subnets, 2 masks
C 192.168.1.0/24 is directly connected, GigabitEthernet0/0
L 192.168.1.210/32 is directly connected, GigabitEthernet0/0
192.168.10.0/24 is variably subnetted, 2 subnets, 2 masks
C 192.168.10.0/24 is directly connected, Vlan1
L 192.168.10.1/32 is directly connected, Vlan1
So I see no rutes for 10.1.10.0 subnet.
4. OK, here is Integrated-Service-Engine0/0 interface:
interface Integrated-Service-Engine0/0
description Interface used to manage integrated application module
ip unnumbered Vlan90
ip nat inside
ip virtual-reassembly in
service-module ip address 10.1.10.1 255.255.255.252
service-module ip default-gateway 10.1.10.2
And here is Vlan90 interface:
interface Vlan90
description $FW_INSIDE$
ip address 10.1.10.2 255.255.255.252
ip access-group 101 in
ip nat inside
ip virtual-reassembly in
5. Next, here is route to 10.1.10.1:
ip route 10.1.10.1 255.255.255.255 Vlan90
As I see, the /32 mask is insane, so I change it to /24:
ip route 10.1.10.0 255.255.255.0 Vlan90
6. Next, I try to enter service engine again but still no luck with the same error.
What's wrong with the configuration?Unfortunately, that didn't help, but the following configuration did the trick:

Unable to refresh config from controller
After migrating the data from CPI 2.1 to 2.2, I am unable to refresh the config from controllers that are on version 7.0.220.0. I am able to refresh on the contrlollers that run on version 7.4 and 7.6 successfully. I checked the compatibiliy metrix and 7.0.220.0 is listed as a supported verison on CPI 2.2.
I open up a TAC but they have been struggling with this for the past 3 weeks now.
Please advice what could be the issue. Thank you.
Phil.Hi. I had this same issue with 9.2. I found that there was a user which was no longer in the AD that was still in planning.
First thing to check is can you see the users in SS - I suspect not but worth a look. If you can, deprovision them. If you cant (most likely) you will need to use an LDAP browser to clean them out, which is a very messy process.
Best of luck.

Unable to install database engine
I am a student and I am trying to get SQL Server 2008 Developer edition to install. It keeps asking for a WMI server and I do not have one on my laptop. :) I am running Vista Ultimate 32 bit. I have tried using nt\authority\network, nt\system and got the WMI Server error. I have tried Local Service and it say it us unsupported. How do I get past the server configuration page with the database engine installed? Thanks in advance.

I am wondering if something is wrong with my computer in general. I have downloaded this application three times now and get the same results. I did check the WMI and the repository is consistent. I can do a reset though I am not sure if that will solve anything or not. -
Hello,
I have a PIX 515e.
When I load the ASDM Software on my pc I receive the error " ASDM us unable to read the configuration from the PIX. Please check the configuration and your connection and then try again by licking the refresh button."
I can get into the pix via putty and no config changes have been made in months. Whenever I click refresh I get the same error.
Any ideas?
Thanks in AdvanceWe had the same problem after updating the Sun Java client to v6 update 11. Just downgrade and you should be ok again.
The same issue is with adsm on ASA. -

Devender VHi Community,
I have to warm this topic again.
I'm facing the same problem like devender. I followed the posted advices, whithout any change. I also checked note 741289 - no change. I restarted the j2ee engine out of TA SMICM where I also checked the application server's state (j2ee Server Operational = FALSE) - no effect.
In SAPMMC I restarted the instance without any effect. The disp+work.EXE still has a yellow state, says "Running, Message Server connection ok, Dialog Queue time: 0.00 sec, J2EE status info unavailabe.
I think the developer trace says the same like devenders:

In the servers process-list (Task Manager) there is no entry for jlaunch (related to [Java Startup und Control Framework|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_NW70/helpdata/de/4f/7ead42c893b211e10000000a155106/content.htm] )

There's the solution manager running on the same server. In his instance everything's fine.
After changing some instance parameters i'm getting some errors:
1. Parameter Name: jstartup/instance_properties
General standardvalue: $(jstartup/j2ee_properties)$(FILE_SEP)$(jstartup/sdm_propert
Specified standardvalue: D:\usr\sap\EI3\D00\j2ee\cluster\instance.properties;D:\usr\s
2. Parameter Name: exe/j2ee
General standardvalue: (Default)
Specified standardvalue. D:\usr\sap\EI3\SYS\exe\run\jcontrol.EXE
Ok, I think I got it. The specified standardvalues the system is selecting are wrong.....but how can I influence the systems selection?

Unable to save config in ASA 5505
Hi all,
I have ASA 5505 and
Hi all, I have this issue, I save the configuration in the ASA 5505 using write memory or using copy run start but whe i unplug the power cord and plug it back in the ASA gets its factory default configuration.
Please help
Thanks
MAheshi can save the config now and did reload.config is saved now.
The config was also saved before. But due to the config-register the startup-config was not applied after loading the image.
it shows no file name is this normal?
If you don't see any variables in "sh bootvar" it defaults to the first image in flash and the saved startup-config. So everything fine here.

Unable to check config files through EM in 10.1.3.3.0
Hi All,
I have OAS (10.1.3.3.0) webserver and appserver in installed on different machines.
as we all know earlier release ie 10g(10.1.2) we can check all he config files like httpd.conf, ssl.conf etc through EM, but can we check config files in this relase ie.(10.1.3.3.0) through EM.
Regards
KumarKumar,
Oracle HTTP Server (OHS) in 10.1.3.x can not be managed using AS Control (EM), like you could do it in 10.1.2.x. Not just viewing OHS's config files you can't also start/stop it, make config changes (server properties, performance directives, log configuration etc.), view performance metrics and log entries etc. This is mainly due to AS Control in 10.1.3.x is changed to be JMX based and OHS doesn't have any MBeans in 10.1.3.x. So OHS can't be managed and monitored (except seeing its up/down state) via AS Control in 10.1.3.x.
FYI, OHS in next major release of Oracle Fusion Middleware (i.e. 11gR1) can be fully managed and monitored in AS Control but for now you will have to do it manually.
Thanks
Shail
