VZ webmail and contacts

I just got my Galaxy SIII on Friday. I am still getting all of the creature comforts in place. I am struggling to get my webmail contacts to sync. My Verizon account shows up on the phone and the email messages are all there, but no contacts. When I look at my settings and accounts that are set to sync, it shows my Google account and my Verizon account. Hoping someone here has an easy fix.

Did 2 unrelated things to fix this.
1, Used my Google account (not gmail, but Google account) and imported a .csv of my contacts into my Google contacts. Then I was able to sync them using my Google contacts. But I was still determined to get it working with my Verizon email contacts...on to step 2!
2. I called VZ support and was informed that my wife was the primary number on the acct. So when I logged in it would show her contacts. I needed to create my own profile. Got that squared away and the contacts hsowed up in my Verizon web mail.
I guess I'll look into the Samsung acct next.

    Will I lose my email folders and contacts addresses ???
    Just this week changed from Talk Talk /toucansurf to a BT broadband and phone service.
    I can access my emails ie receive and send from my new BT yahoo account and have good connection to the internet
    BUT
    Before I totally cancel my  Talk Talk account I need to know whether the
    1)existing emails in my inbox
    2) the emails that are stored in folders I have created
    3) and my contacts address book
    will disappear when I make the full switch ????
    Thanks
    Sorry, think I posted this in another area too as was unsure)
    (once this question is answered I need to ask another but this one is more important - cheers)
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    You should be able to export your contacts to a file, then import them to your BT account. As for folders, if they are stored within the Windows Live program, they you should be able to save the contents.
    If they are stored on a remote server, and you access them by webmail, then you may lose them unless you use an IMAP account to duplicate the folders on your computer, where you can save the contents.
    Really this is an issue you need to ask about here http://www.talktalkmembers.com/forums/
    as they are more likely to know how their email servers work.
    There are some useful help pages here, for BT Broadband customers only, on my personal website.

  • Setting up an account for Windows Live Mail, Calendar and Contacts

    Hey guys,
    Very recently my university mail changed from the regular webmail to Windows Live.
    The question is :
    How do I set up an account for emails, calendars and contacts in my mail.app?
    Also do I have to use entourage for this purpose or will the mail app be able to figure it all?
    Thanks

    You will need your email server addresses for the incoming and outgoing mail servers, your email username and password, and whether you need to use login security, POP or IMAP or Exchange account type, and any relevant port numbers. Then for Mail it's simply creating a new mail account and providing the above information where requested or needed. For assistance with the use of Mail select Mail Help from Mail's Help menu and search for relevant keywords. Same with iCal. In iCal Preferences click on the Accounts icon to configure an Exchange account.
    My guess is that if you ask at computer services at your university they can provide the web page at which you will find configuration instructions for using different email clients.
    I am not at all familiar with Windows Live but it appears that it may be a browser based information system meaning you may not be able to access it from Mail or iCal. Again discuss this with the IT people at your university.

  • Run report that show "BOTH" campaign name AND contact when getting integration error message that relates to Lead Campaign Association

    When running an External Calls Failed report for Lead Campaign Association (e.g.Attempted to add a campaign member where either the member id 00Q70000015ngo5 or the campaign id null is null.), the report show me the contact but not the campaign the contact was trying to associate itself to in SFDC.  In order to see the campaign, I have to click on the downward arrow and click on the "view external call details" FOR EACH INDIVIDUAL CONTACT.
    Is there a report I can run that shows me both the campaign and contact for the error? I can't efficently trouble shoot issues in Eloqua if I have to view each individual record with two or more clicks.
    Any advise?

    I am getting the same error when opening the J2se Development Kit 5.0 Update 8 after I press the Run button. ( "This installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and than you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package").
    Is there a solution ?
    Thanks,

    Hoping for some help with a very frustrating issue!
    I have been syncing calendar and contacts on my iPhone 5 and Outlook 2007 using iCloud  2.1.3 (my PC is running Vista). All was well until the events I entered on the phone were showing up in Outlook, but not the other way around. I’ve tried the usual recommended steps: deselecting calendar and contacts in the iCloud control panel and then re-selecting, signing out of the panel and back in, and repairing the Outlook installation in control panel.  I even uninstalled iCloud on the PC and downloaded it again (same version).
    The furthest I’ve gotten is step 2 (and once, step 3) of 7 while performing “Outlook Setup For iCloud.” At that point I get, “Your setup couldn’t be started because of an unexpected error.”  After the first attempt at all this, all my calendar events disappeared from Outlook, although they are still in iCloud calendar and on my phone.
    Sound familiar?  Any ideas on how to solve this iCloud/Outlook issue?  Thanks much in advance!

  • CU8 Update - Public Folder Calendar and Contacts show up in OWA that no longer exist and I cannot access when selecting.

    We recently updated to CU8. I went to test out the new Public Folder access to calendars and contacts.  I first go to Calendars in OWA and I see a list of several calendars.  I see one that is listed twice, one I can open and the other states "Couldn't
    open calendar - A connection couldn't be made with the shared calendar. Remove the calendar and try to add it again, or ask the owner to share it again." I also see other calendar's that we used in the past but no longer reside under public folders.
    I get the same error on them.
    For People, I can go there and I see a section called "Public Folder" and there is a contact list called "IT Team Contacts".  When I click on it, it states in the middle pane "Your request can't be completed right now.
    Please try again later."  This contact list is not on our public folders.
    Any ideas on why we I'm seeing these issues?
    Thanks,

    Seems like some orphaned PF favorites. You should be able to remove them from Outlook, or via MFCMAPI

  • Outlook 2011 no longer syncing with iCal and contacts

    I have installed Yosemite recently on my Macbook Pro. I run MS Outlook 2011 for professional reasons. Until now, syncing with my Android phone worked (almost) fine, using a nice app called SyncMate. For a few days now (not sure it is linked to installing Yosemite though) new data on my outlook calendar and address book no longer appear on my phone after syncing. After checking I realized that Outlook is actually not syncing any more with iCal and Contacts, so of course the syncing with the phone cannot work. How can I resolve this ?

    facing the same problem, it was syncing prior to my upgrade to Lion. have you managed to find a solution?

    I just backed up my 3gs iphone using itunes.  All my photos and contacts have disappeared from my phone.  I am unable to locate them on my computer.  HELP!!!

    OK, I understand.  Try this ... it's much safer.  It will simply restore your backup, but not do anything to your iOS:
    While your iPhone is plugged in to iTunes, right click on the iPhone icon on the left side of the iTunes display.
    Choose "Restore from backup ..." from the pop-up menu that appears.
    Again, what this will do is place that backup back on your iPhone without changing iOS.  So you should be very confident in the backup contents before doing this.

    You are talking about the menu bar of Itunes, right?
    Yes. With iTunes open the menu bar is at the top of your screen.
    where exactly is the Store/synck you iphone option?
    After you authorize the computer connect your iPhone then follow the instructions here > iOS: How to transfer or sync content to your computer
    When you are done transferring the data to the desktop, right or control click the iPhone under Devices left side of the iTunes window then click Back Up.
    That way you will have a backup just in case you need to restore your iPhone.

    There is no way around the activation lock. You apparently decided to use the phone with someone else's ID set up for an iCloud (and find my iPhone) account before updating. Since Find My iPhone was active, updating to iOS 7 has automatically turned on the activation lock. If you do not have the Apple ID and password that were previously used, then the phone is now useless. You can't activate it without that informaion.
    Talk to whoever you bought the phone from if you can. If you can't, buy a new phone.

  • Sync musc on 1 ipod library and contacts on another computer

    Hi,
    This one is confusing. Up until today myself and my kids all had ipods and all use one itunes library (mine) for songs etc. This way we all share music. Today I purchased my son a new macbook pro. It is his first computer. I would like him to be able to connect his ipod so he can sync his calender as well as contacts. I also want him to be able to use the home sharing so he can listen to music from my computer but I still want to maintain the music on my machine. How can I do this? I do not need to transfer all the music to his computer.

    First, turn off automatic syncing when iphone is connected.
    I would assume that you could tell one computer to not sync music at all and only sync the info you want, the tell the other computer not to sync calendars and contacts, but to sync music.
    With the iphone connected go to the information tabs in itunes and select the info that you want synced. Do this for each computer.
    It may also help to do a forum search as this has been asked and answered before, there is probably more info.

  • Cisco Jabber for Mac - Directory Lookup and Contact Fields

    Hello,
    After having issues myself with Cisco Jabber for Mac 9.2 specifically with Active Directory lookups not working, or contact information not populating (and therefore not being able to call users from the contact list as no telephone information exists) I am including a sample jabber-config.xml file that works for me.
    Please note: there are many different ways to configure this. What I will be showing is the method that works for me and my deployment, which is pretty standard.
    As always and as a disclaimer, once again, this is what has worked for my deployment scenario. Always keep backups of your configuration files, and always be mindful of anything you have configured already, especially in the jabber-config.xml file.
    Background
    My deployment is based on CUCM 9, with 1 publisher and 2 subscribers. I also have a CUCM IM & Presence 9.0 server. This assumes that you have already configured your deployment and Jabber is functioning already, albeit with the aforementioned issues.
    As for Active Directory, my deployment will be based on Windows 2008 R2 Domain Controllers running in native 2008 mode. For this example, we will be searching directly against one of the DCs with a Global Catalogue role. Please be aware that in large deployments you will have to plan accordingly with regards to lookup traffic from Jabber clients to the DCs.
    Also, as of Cisco Jabber for Mac 9, the client no longer can search via the CUCM internal directory (which may be made of local end users, Active Directory synced users, or a mix of both) and this must be done via a LDAP mechanism.
    Scenario
    In this deployment scenario, Cisco Jabber for Windows is working properly - you can search and add people from Active Directory, and contacts in your contact list have all the appropriate fields populated from Active Directory. However, when trying the same with Jabber for Mac, Jabber for iPhone or Jabber for iPad you notice that you cannot perform a directory lookup, and if you add people directly (for example, [email protected]) the user only has the IM field populated. No telephone, email or additional information is displayed.
    Solution
    Whereas Cisco Jabber for Windows uses the EDI mechanism (native Windows), whereby when running from a computer that is on the domain (or in the event that you are search for contacts in another Active Directory domain where a domain trust exists) , Jabber for Mac / iPhone / iPad uses the BDI mechanism.
    In this case, you will need to provision a jabber-config.xml file that you will upload to your TFTP server (or Publisher) that will be "downloaded" by your Jabber for Mac client and also used by the iPhone and iPad client. You can configure many options in the jabber-config.xml file, but for this example we will place just the information that we need to order for these clients to request and display Active Directory information.
    Please note that the configuration may vary depending on your deployment, but at the very least we will be:
    - Configuring a DC where we will perform the lookup.
    - Configure credentials that will be used to perform the lookup. This will be an Active Directory account that has read rights on the Active Directory domain. Please note that these credentials are saved in plain text in the file, so ensure that the account that you will be using is not privileged.
    - Configure the server port that we will be using to perform the lookup.
    - Configure the Search Base. This is basically where we want the directory lookup to happen. You can either choose for this lookup to start at the "base" of the domain (and therefore the search will iterate through all the user accounts and and OUs below the root base) or define a specific OU where you want to search.
    Caution!
    - There is a current limitation with Cisco Jabber for Mac whereby you can only have 1 search base configured. Please keep this in mind if, like me, you have multiple OUs (like an OU for each company in your organization) and under these OUs you have sub OUs as a user account container.
    - If using the top level search base, unless you specify a filter, you will potentially be able to search for all user accounts in the domain. You will need to configure the <BDIBaseFilter> parameter if you want to fine tune your search ability.
    Steps
    These are the steps I have followed. Other steps or considerations may vary.
    - Log in to your TFTP server and download the jabber-config.xml file and keep it as a backup. If you are already using the jabber-config.xml file for other purposes, do not worry - you can add your BDI information parameters inside.
    - Remove the jabber-config.xml file
    - Edit the jabber-config.xml file and configure thus:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <config version="1.0">
        <Directory>
            <DirectoryServerType>BDI</DirectoryServerType>
            <BDILDAPServerType>AD</BDILDAPServerType>
            <BDIPrimaryServerName>DOMAIN CONTROLLER IP ADDRESS</BDIPrimaryServerName>
            <BDIPresenceDomain>YOUR PRESENCE DOMAIN</BDIPresenceDomain>
            <BDIServerPort1>3268</BDIServerPort1>
            <BDISearchBase1>YOUR SEARCH BASE</BDISearchBase1>
            <BDIConnectionUsername>[email protected]</BDIConnectionUsername>
            <BDIConnectionPassword>PASSWORD</BDIConnectionPassword>
            <BDIEnableTLS>0</BDIEnableTLS>
        </Directory>
    </config>
    For example, let´s assume the following:
    - Domain controller IP address is 10.1.1.2 .
    - Your presence domain is test.local .
    - Your search base will be test.local using the top level of the domain.
    - Your username with which you will be doing your searches is called walt . Usually you can either identify walt as test.local\walt or [email protected] . It is always best, in these sort of scenarios, to use the UPN convention so we will be configuring a [email protected] .
    - The password is the Active Directory password for the account walt .
    - I have disabled TLS in my case. There are issues with the Jabber for Mac client when using other security methods.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <config version="1.0">
        <Directory>
            <DirectoryServerType>BDI</DirectoryServerType>
            <BDILDAPServerType>AD</BDILDAPServerType>
            <BDIPrimaryServerName>10.1.1.2</BDIPrimaryServerName>
            <BDIPresenceDomain>test.local</BDIPresenceDomain>
            <BDIServerPort1>3268</BDIServerPort1>
            <BDISearchBase1>DC=test,DC=local</BDISearchBase1>
            <BDIConnectionUsername>[email protected]</BDIConnectionUsername>
            <BDIConnectionPassword>walt01!</BDIConnectionPassword>
            <BDIEnableTLS>0</BDIEnableTLS>
        </Directory>
    </config>
    One you have configured the jabber-config.xml file, you will now need to upload it to you TFTP server. Once uploaded, you will need to restart the Cisco TFTP service. Again, my TFTP server is on my CUCM publisher, so:
    - I go to Cisco Unified OS Administration on my Publisher server, TFTP File Management and I upload jabber-config.xml to / directory
    - I then go to Cisco Unified Serviceability on my Publisher server, I locate the Cisco TFTP service and I restart the service
    Once this is done, you can figure up your Jabber for Mac client. As a test, on your Mac (using Terminal) go to:
    /Users/username/Library/Application Support/Cisco/Unified Communications/Jabber/Config
    In here you will see several files, but what we want to see is jabber-config.xml . As soon as you start the Jabber for Mac client and log in, the jabber-config.xml file will download from your TFTP server and get saved here. When you see it appear, just type in your terminal window more jabber-config.xml and make sure that the output is the same as the xml file you created.
    From there, try doing directory search. If you have previously added contacts and they still lack attribute information, you will need to remove them (sometimes it will not refresh properly) and add them again from the directory.
    I will be updating this guide and ammending anything that is incorrect, but this is meant to be a quick checklist and steps to get this, at least in the most very basic version, up and running for Jabber for Mac.

    Hello,
    Thanks for this post! It works, I can do lookup and also I can add found contact to contact list and get information about contact from LDAP.
    One more question: - I can't get all information about contact. I don't get e.c mobile phone number and more others attributes. I have tried to expand your file as follows:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <config version="1.0">
        <Directory>
            <DirectoryServerType>BDI</DirectoryServerType>
            <BDILDAPServerType>AD</BDILDAPServerType>
            <BDIPrimaryServerName>IP of AD</BDIPrimaryServerName>
            <BDIPresenceDomain>Presence Domain</BDIPresenceDomain>
            <BDIServerPort1>3268</BDIServerPort1>
            <BDISearchBase1> Search Base</BDISearchBase1>
            <BDIConnectionUsername>User</BDIConnectionUsername>
            <BDIConnectionPassword>Password</BDIConnectionPassword>
            <BDIEnableTLS>0</BDIEnableTLS>
            <BDISipUri>msRTCSIP-PrimaryUserAddress</BDISipUri>
            <BDIPhotoSource>thumbnailPhoto</BDIPhotoSource>
            <BDIBusinessPhone>telephoneNumber</BDIBusinessPhone>
            <BDIMobilePhone>mobile</BDIMobilePhone>
            <BDIHomePhone>homePhone</BDIHomePhone>
            <BDIOtherPhone>otherTelephone</BDIOtherPhone>
            <BDITitle>title</BDITitle>
            <BDICompanyName>company</BDICompanyName>
            <BDILocation>co</BDILocation>
            <BDIPostalCode>postalCode</BDIPostalCode>
            <BDICity>l</BDICity>
            <BDIState>st</BDIState>
            <BDIStreetAddress>streetAddress</BDIStreetAddress>
        </Directory>
    </config>
    But it didn't help.
    When I capture lookup via Wireshark, I can see that Jabbers sends search request with bunch of attributes, but from LDAP answer contains only 8 attributes. (see attached screenshots)

  • Calendar and contact options are greyed out

    Hi all,
    I wand to sync my contacts and calendar between my iPad1 and my Windows Laptop.
    After installing the icloud sync software, I was only able to check "favourites and photostream" to be synced. The fields mail, calendar and contacts are greyed out and not available to select.
    I have browsed through the Internet, de-installed that software piece and installed it again, not change.
    Passwaords have been corrected according to the iTune needs (8characters, and so on).
    I do not know what to do, any ideas?
    Thanks

    When you say you are trying to get a file from your local c:drive, dio you mean that you are trying to import a file into your site from elsewhere on your computer, rather than 'getting' it from your remote server.  If you are trying to import a file from your local c:drive don't use the 'get' or 'put' buttons because they are just for remote connections, instead just use windows explorer to locate the file then either copy or cut and paste the file into the folder for your site.

  • Confusion with DX80 directory and contacts

    We just received two new Cisco DX80.
    I have to say I am a bit confused by many thing, one being the directory/contact. When the endpoint is registered on the CUCM (9.1.2), synched with Exchange and Jabber CUP server, a "Cisco UCM account" and "Cisco Directory Credential" are setup on the DX80... which directory and contact list is it using? and can we control it?
    When I am in Jabber and search for people, I can only find people in my Jabber contacts. When I am trying to add contact I can't find any
    When I'm on the "phone", the contacts seems to be my Exchange contacts. So depending on when I'm on the DX80 phone or on Jabber application, the contact list are different which is confusion. Consitency accross application would be nice. If the mail contact is using Exchange contact I would find it normal but that two Cisco UC applications are using different contact lists, I find it very confusing.
    When I'm on the "phone" and use Directory, which directory is it looking into?
    I have to say that overall the first DX80 experience is quite confusing

    Hello Matthieu,
    yes, I agree with you, it is not ideal, its multiple applications which seem to behave different them selfs,
    have different localization (the phone part is here for example localized, where the jabber part is not)
    and then in addition they behave different depending on the deployment, configuration, services and status, ....
    We are looking into a bigger roll out and these are definitely things we are investigating about how to deply
    especially to improve usability and limit the need for support requests
