VZaccess Manager changes WiFi connections to manually connect from automatic

VZaccess Manager changes WiFi connections to manually connect from automatic.
I have Panasonic CF-19s with VZaccess manager installed with a NDIS connection that automatically connects to Cellular service. I need my WiFI connections to also connect when available and have them set to automatically connect and managed by Windows (WiFi connection in accessmanager is set to None). When I first configure it, it works fine and we use Netmotion to decide which connection to use. After exiting VZaccess manager and restarting it, it changes my WiFi connections to "manually connect" even though accessmanager is not managing it. As soon as I exit out of Accessmanager  the connections are changed back to "automatically connect". I need both connections to be active at the same time so the switchover to cellular is immediate when the WiFi connection is lost.

  • DO YOU HAVE TO CHANGE WIFI CONNECTION OVERTIME YOU PRINT FROM MACBOOK AIR

Do i have to keep changing my wifi connection from computer to printer each time I want to print from the mac book air?

Not if you followed the setup instructions for use of the Mac with the wi-fi enabled printer...
There likely is more than one way to use the printer via wi-fi. If your computer already
had the drivers installed for the printer, or went online to get a download, the results
may vary. Settings are the key. It may also be seen as a Bonjour printer, if not direct.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • VZaccess Manager changes local network address

I would like to know why VZAccess Manager changes my local network IP address everytime it is installed or there is a program update. My LAN is on 10.0.0.- and VZAccess manager is installed on one computer on the network but every time I've had to re-install or there is a program update it sets the IP address for that computers LAN address to 192.168.-.- and I have to go back in and reset the network address to the proper settings for my network. This is a USB modem acquiring its own address from the Verizon network. Why is it mucking around in my LAN settings? It functions the same on the computer it is installed on no matter what my LAN is on so there is no reason for it to be altering these settings.

I'll give you an explanation of my network configuration and my opinion of the situation and VZ Access Manager and we can go from there.
I have an office in the lower leval of my home with my PC, my laptop and a NAS (an old PIII @1Ghz running FreeNAS to turn it into a Network Attached Storage). PC and NAS and usually the laptop are connected to a switch (their LAnto the switch w/CAT5. The switch is CAT5 to an Ensoniq CB3 for a wireless connection to a Hawkings wireless router w/ a 6.5 db external antenna that is located in the spare room upstairs where the computer my wife uses (on occasion) is also located. The Hawking is connected to the LAN on my wifes computer, connection sharing is set up on that computer too and the Verizon Novatel USB760 is attached to this computer through a USB port. VZ Access Manager is installed on her computer also. I can take control of her computer from downstairs using TeamViewer. The 3 computers and the NAS are on their own workgroup (renamed from 'WORKGROUP' and are also set up using 10.0.0.100, 10.0.0.101, 10.0.0.102 and the NAS is 10.0.0.150.
Everything works perfectly until VZ Access Manager is installed or upgraded at which time it changes the address of my wifes computer (that it's connected to USB to 192.168.1.1, 255.255.255.0, no default gateway or DNS server address which stops my network from working. The USB760/VZ Access Manager have acquired an IP address, mask, gateway and DNS from Verizon and they can be found in VZ Access Manager. It doesn't assign a valid address to the computer it's plugged into.
This is the point where I have to go in and reset that LAN to 10.0.0.100, 255.255.255.0, 10.0.0.10 and I use OpenDNS for all 4 units (and I change VZ Access Manager's DNS to OpenDNS' 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220) and everything works fine until VZ Access manager comes along with another upgrade. My download speeds from any unit run a pretty consistant 680K to 1.3G with everything set as I've explained above.
Now, the USB760 and VZ Access Manager have acquired their address as they should have. There is no reason for the program to go in and alter the settings on that machines LAN because 1) they were already set 2) VZAM is not assigning a working address to that machine anyway, just a generic 192.168 address and wiping the gateway address and the DNS addresses that were in there and not even replacing them and not setting them to 'Acquire an address automatically'.
VZAM and the USB760 would function on this computer even if I pulled the LAN card out altogether so my opinion is that this is a software glitch or a programming error in VZAM that I have had to fix 5 times now (3 program updates and twice to humor tech support when they wouldn't believe me that the problem I was having originated on their end).
This is basically an annoyance and I am extremely glad that VZAM isn't smart enough to be able to access the whole network and change all the settings but I sure would like to see it fixed before someone changes the code in a future update and it allows VZAM to run amok all the way through my LAN network.
Heheheh, it might not stop at the end of my network.....and the whole world will be reset to 192.168.1.1....even the MACs and the Smartphones.
    Have Fun
    Mike

I'm staying at my house in Peru, South America. From my PC laptop I can see my neighbor's wifi service network, but I also have my mini iPad and I can not figure out why I can't get any wifi connection from my area. Is there a setting I need to do?

Yes, I did try to go on my settings>wifi and was waiting for any wifi signals to pick up, but nothing shows up. But on my PC I get a whole list of networks to choose from. Regarding my neighbor, I already have her password that is why I was able to get it on my PC, the problem is that the mini Ipad is not picking any signal neither can it locate me when I go to maps.

This subject has been talked/written about a lot, after Lion was introduced. A solution from Apple has not yet been published, everybody is waiting.

  • Trying to change NAT connection from moderate NAT connection to an open NAT connection for XBOX LIVE

Hi, I have a Linksys Wireless-N Broadband Router/WRT160Nv2 and I have been trying to change my NAT connection from a moderate NAT connection to a open NAT connection for my Xbox Live on my Xbox 360. I can sign into my Xbox Live account but it is working on a moderate NAT connection. I have already enabled the UPnP and put in the proper port numbers. After doing that I signed into my Xbox Live on my Xbox 360 and tested my Xbox Live connection and still it says that I a moderate NAT connection. I do not know what elso to do and I would greatly appreciate step by step help from anybody who knows what they are doing. PLEASE HELP ME AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!!!
    Thank you

A known issue with Linksys routers is the NAT Type 3 or anything related to dropping of Internet connectivity during play time.  Network Address Translation (NAT) is the ability of a router or firewall to translate a public IP address to a private IP address and vice versa.  It adds security to the network by keeping the private IP addresses hidden from the outside world.
Here is the link, which will you in resolving the concern:  http://www6.nohold.net/Cisco2/ukp.aspx?vw=1&docid=2902de6218ed4dc1a4c595595ca1f60a_Resolving_NAT_Typ...

  • My laptop wifi connection disables automatically and red cross comes up

    Hello
I just bought a new toshiba laptop L850-B211 with win 7 home premium 64 bit and i have noticed that my wifi disables automatically in between and i see a red cross come up on the tower icon....when i click on the tower cross it automatically connects....and
works fine again. But why is it disabling the wifi adapter automatically. this happens in every 30 or 40 mins even when i am surfing the net. Is this a hardware problem or some setting in windows 7 or toshiba power management utility which is causing this
problem. Also to mention i always use my laptop with power cord connected. The model no of wifi adapter is ATHEROS AR9485WB-EG.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
When trying to connect the Wireless network, please check the “Start the connection automatically” option. Then, when you trying to connect certain Wireless network next time, it should connect
    to the Wireless network automatically.
In addition, update the wireless adapter driver to see how it works.
    Also, please check this thread:
    wireless adaptor disables automatically
    Hope this helps.

  • I have a WiFi connection from an international hotel, but cannot get on line even though my laptop wireless is working fine.  I have the Cell off.  Also tried Airplane Mode ON and WiFi On.  Any suggestions?

I am using WiFi for my laptop from the hotel room in an international location.
I have tried everything but cannot get my iPhone5 to connect to the internet from the room (where room # and name need to be entered first) OR the lobby (open WiFi).
Cell is off, Roaming is off.
I tried turning phone off, turning on with Home button pressed to reset, Forget Network and re-connect. No luck.
A friend has an iPhone 5 and it works just fine.
    Any suggestions?

    Catch 22
I need Safari to get to that first page so I can do that!
I am already logged on via the laptop, and can add the iPhone if Safari could only get to the first page!!
The lobby wifi is open, and doesn't need the sign in page, but I can't get to the Internet even though it seems to have connected to the hotel's wifi.

  • WIFI connection from IMAC to Officejet 6380 keeps failing

Hello.  I cannot seem to get my IMAC to communicate with my printer.  I've installed the software twice, once from disk and once from internet.  When I print test page from printer utility, the printer spools up, prints a couple of lines, then stops and hangs up.  eventually I see on the computer screen that a comms failure occurred.  Anybody know what I can do to solve this?
    Sincerely,
    JN

Describe to me your wireless setup.
What type of wireless-router are you using?
Is the iMac connected wirelessly or wired to your network?
Can you browse the printer's internal web page via Safari (use  Bonjour bookmarks to find the printer and select it).
Finally, what printer are you using?

  • How to stop Access Connections from automatically connecting to WAP at turn on or restart?

I had a problem with my X200 winxp sp3 wireless connection. I got it working OK again but in the process I did something that changed the action of Access Connections when I turn on or restart the machine where it automatically connects to the WAP whereas before it did not do this, rather it required a manual connection. For the life of me I can't find the setting that controls this behavior...can anyone point me in the right direction.
    thanks for any feedback

Might not answer completely, but what is your "profile" set to? I have a "profile" called Office that wll only use the "hardwire" LAN Connection. I have another "profile" called Mobile that will only use the Intel Wireless card, yet another that is "HSPA Modem" that will only use the AT&T wireless card.
Could it be that your "profile" is set to use just your Wireless Connection?
    Just a thought -

  • Instable WiFi connection on MBP 13''

My Macbook Pro 13 (mid 2012) loses WiFi connection from time to time, while a PC7 an iPhone and an Android phone work just fine. The router is Dlink DIR-300. Supports 802.11n.
Maybe the problem is that some of my other devices make the router switch to another format or protocol which is incompatible with the MBP's WiFi module?

This could be for quite a few reasons, if you are in an area where there are a lot of wi-fi networks then changing the channel may make the difference. You can download iStumbler and see what networks are in your area and what channel they're on. If you see several with the same channel as yours that could be the problem.
Another common issue is the ISP you are using has issues with it's DNS settings. That is also a very simple fix by following these instructions:
    1. System preferences
    2. Network
    3. Click Advanced
    4. Click DNS tab
    5. Click + sign
    6. Add 208.67.222.222
    7. Click + sign
    8. Add 208.67.220.220
    9. Click OK.
    10. Exit System Preferences
    11. Try out your iMac and report what happened.
    Regards,
    Roger

  • Whenever I try to open my Wifi Connection at home, it doesn't work! It just stays on 3G, and I want to update my phone, but In order for me to do this, I have to connect through WiFi to ignore additional charges, please help!

Hey! So basically, I've been using my Wifi connection (from home) lately, I had no troubles what-so-ever. I turned on my 3G network this morning, and again, everything's going perfectly fine with my connection. I came home around half 4 from school and decided to turn on my Wifi connection at home, what I've realised is that whenever I try turning on my Wifi network, the little sign that's usually at the top doesn't appear anymore. I tried resetting the network settings and closing and opening my phone, but.. This didn't really make any difference. I'm really worried and I don't know what to do! I have tried reconnecting to my Wifi but nothing happened, my Bluetooth's never really turned on. Please help!!

I'm not sure if I'm understanding but if I am then I'm not sure why you are turning your Wi-Fi off and on. It should automatically connect and use your Wi-Fi when it is available and use your cellular data connection when Wi-Fi is not available. I haven't turned either off ever. However, more to the point of your current problem, the following has some troubleshooting steps that may help: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398

  • Just had cellular data plan added to my iPad 2. How do I wep secure my wifi connection?

How can I secure my cellular data wifi network on my iPad 2? I want to ensure others are not drawing against my data plan.

You can set up a password to secure your WiFi connection from your router. A very smart thing to do given a recent news story about a guy in Florida who didn't secure his WiFi network and was raided by the polce, who later discovered his signal was being used by another dude for illegal purposes..
As to your 3G cellular data plan, I don't believe it turns your iPad into a WiFi hotspot that others can use.
I can be paranoid, so I tend to turn on airplane mode when I'm not using my iPad, and especially overnight when I'm asleep.

  • Using VZAccess Manager v7 With Sierra Wireless SB555 Embedded Device

We have several Panasonic CF-29 Toughbooks with embedded Sierra Wireless SB555 devices. Up to now we were running VZAccess Manager v6.9 on these laptops without any issues.
For consistency sake we want to upgrade VZAccess Manager in these laptops to v7. From what I could determine VZAccess Manager 7 should work with the SB555 devices. This is where I came across an issue.
After installing VZAccess Manager v7 the Verizon Wireless - VZAccess dial-up networking connection was not created. Trying to connect failed: Connection not available.
I manually created the connection and I was able to connect. The problem is that whenever I use Detect Device VZAccess Manager deletes the connection and a new one is not created.
I have a temporary solution by creating a connection named BACKUP Verizon Wireless - VZAccess and then when needed just duplicate this backup connection and rename it properly. At least that is a solution in the lab.
    This leads to 3 questions:
Is there a way to make VZAccess anager create the connection as it normally should?
When the automatic area coverage updating takes place, does that trigger a Detect Device? If it does not I guess I am safe to believe that the connection will not be deleted in the field.
Is there a way to reduce the time between the coverage area updates so that I can test this in the lab without having to wait days or weeks for it to happen on its own?
    Thanks!

I would recommend uninstalling the current version of VZAM on the PC, and installing the VZAM software from www.vzam.net. I have listed the instructions below on navigating to the software.
Once on the VZAM home page, select supported devices on the red menu located on the left hand side of the screen
Scroll towards the bottom of the page for Laptops with Embedded Verizon Wireless WWAN Module
The 4th selection from the top is labeled “Panasonic Toughbook with global module.” Click on the version number that fits your Windows OS
    Enter your wireless number
Before you download, check the two links below on whether you will need drivers for the WWAN device, or the Toughbook itself. I have listed the link below:
    http://panasonic.com/toughbook/support
    http://www.vzam.net/UploadedFiles/Pan03_RevA_Driver.exe
If you are okay with the drivers, you can proceed to download the VZAM software by clicking the red download now button. Once selected, save the file to your desktop and install the software
***Download version 7.2.9 (2470a) for either Windows XP/Vista or Windows 7
***If step 1 is completed successfully (the drivers installed, the device was found, and the set up completed), the VZAM network connection will be automatically built.
    2.      At the point that the automatic coverage update initiates, it has already detected the device. (If a device is not detected, you will not be able to activate it or update the coverage information.)
    3.      To reduce the amount of time a coverage update can take, you can periodically perform a activation on the device. This can be done by selecting the “options” tab at the top of the VZAM menu, and select “activation”. This process will update the PRL (Preferred Roaming List) and coverage area.
I hope this information was helpful.
