You must update VZ Access Manager to verision 7.4.5 before upgrading to mountain Lion from Lion if you use a Verizon USB modem to access the internet. If you do not upgrade VZ Access manager first you will not have Internet access after you upgrade to Mountain Lion Ver 10.8.2 and will have no way to update VZAcess manager

If you are attempting to use a VZ Access Manager installer earlier than 7.4.5 on Mountain Lion, the software is incompatible. You should use the following link to determine if your device is supported by 7.4.5 on Mountain Lion, and if true, get the 7.4.5 software.
Is this an error message coming from an attempt to install VZ Access Manager v7.4.5 on Mountain Lion? If so, it is interesting that they assume people would know this tidbit before their ML upgrade, or expect people to reinstall an operating system to properly upgrade their connection software.
I just checked the requirements for 7.4.5 and it claims Mountain Lion compatibility. And, you are allowed to select either Lion or Mountain Lion in the download selection process. If you could only install 7.4.5 in Lion before a 10.8 upgrade, why is there a separate 10.8 selection criteria for installation?

The Logitech Quick Cam pro 9000 is not working with Mountain Lion's dictation.
Opening the dictation system preference panel makes the system preferences crash...
The mic of that camera is the only mic I have.
I own a Mac Pro and an old Cinema Display which has no built-in cam/mic.
Anyone having the same issue?
I hope this is gonna be fixed with 10.8.1.

Unplug and plug in back the camera does not solve this problem. I tried that before.
But what worked was to start photo booth. Don't really know why.
So after every restart of the mac I have to start photo booth and dictation with the QuickCam is working. ^^

Why does snaps pro not work with mountain lion?

I spent a lot money purchasing the pro addition only to be told that it won't work with mountain lion due to Apple's written something into the code that does not permit me to make videos with it. I even tried ot make a video of Indesign acting up so i could send it to Adobe support and it wouldn't allow me to. Is this the resaon it suddenly doesn't work anymore? Are there plans to fix mountian lion to allow me to use my software? Alternatively,, does Apple have something that does screen captures of videos?

As far as Snapz Pro X 2 functionality, some major backend Digital Rights Management changes enacted by Apple may be what is preventing you from recording movies you were previously able to record using our software. Basically, our program can no longer access videos before the DRM protections are enabled, unfortunately we have no control over these changes. Note the supported wireless channels - the 5GHz channels in the UK are 36-48 which are not on the list. A firmware upgrade on my router appears to have changed the country code. Having done a bit of checking it appears OS X detects this using 802.11d and enables what it believes are the correct channels.
Having disabled the WiFi on the router, OS X now sees the 5GHz network first and allocates the correct channels :

Falcon 4.0 Allied Forces does not work with Mountain Lion and Nvidia 650M

I have the new Imac with Mountain Lion and the base, built in Nvidia GeForce 650M card. I bought the Falcon Allied Forces game app from the app store, but the in-game graphics are unusable, pixelated, and generally garbage. It does not appear there are any patches out there to correct this? Has anyone had any luck correcting this issue? From what I can gather, it seems it worked fine on other macs prior to Mountain Lion? So is this an Apple patch, or a game developer patch that needs to go in place?

Notes are synched via IMAP. IMAP is a protocol most frequently used by email.
So if you have an iCloud account and have set up a @me.com email address, that's what is used to sync. For Gmail, that can be used as well, though Gmail's IMAP support has to be enabled on their site and their implementation is very nonstandard and can be problematic. Best is to sync notes via iCloud.

"Default Calendar" not working with Mountain Lion?

I have two write-able calendars on my Mac running Mountain Lion (recently upgraded from Snow Leopard):
1) an On My Mac calendar generated by the Library Books app -- tells me when books are due
2) a Google calendar shared with family
By default, I want all invites to go to the Google calendar. I set that in:
Calendar -> Preferences -> General -> Default Calendar
But everything goes to the calendar On My Mac. It seems to ignore the Default Calendar setting. The only way I can get invites to default to my Google Calendar is to remove the On My Mac calendar. I removed and re-added both calendars. Same issue. Instead of an On My Mac calendar generated by an app, I created a temp one. Same issue. It seems to prefer any calendar On My Mac ahead of my Google calendar. Any On My Mac calendar generated seems to be at the top of the list of calendars automatically, and that's what appears to be used.
What gives?

I managed to sort it out! Make sure that in system preferences, under mail, contacts and calander, that iMessage is selected. In my case it said google talk. click the box and your ready to go!

FCP 7 not working with Mountain Lion!!

FCP 7 is not working!!
Once I install FCP in Mountain Lion (10.8) My FCP 7 won't let me open or create new projects shot with a Sony Z5 using Sony HVR-MRC1 to ingest media.
Prior to this I never had any problems with Snow Leopard.
When I try to ingest media FCP freezes and received the message that the application is not responding. For older works I am receiving this message:

That error is well known and documented. Even if you are on The latest FCP 7.0.3 version, it can still appear.
Moving to FCP X won't help either. FCP 7 projects are not readable in X without third party conversion software.
FCP 7 should work fine in Mountain Lion (Mac OS X 10.8) I have it running in Mac OS X 10.10.2.
Use this free tool to trash FCP Preferences: http://www.digitalrebellion.com/prefman/ Doing so will return FCP to standard settings.

Logic 9.0.0 NOT WORKING with mountain lion update

I was running on snow leopard 10.6.8 prior to this evening and I had logic 9.0.0. I didn't get it from the appstore, though. When I try to open logic it shows the following message:
I really need to have logic working. I did do a back up with time machine before I downloaded the update for mountain lion, so it was running on snow leopard and logic was working fine when I backed everything up. But i'd rather not downgrade since I already spent the time and money to upgrade it would just be another hassle, and since this is the first time I've upgraded my mac I don't know how I would upgrade again once I downgraded.
The most favorable solution would be if I could keep mountain lion but have logic 9 still working. please HELP thanks!

If you or, any one else is having the same problem, I had the same. It transpired that I hadn't installed Logic in to my applications folder, so I transfered my version of Logic to the aplications folder, downloaded the update from apples website (google it) and I was away.

Ios 7 air drop not working with mountain lion air drop

Hi, didn't see an iOS 7 forum, so I'm posting it here since I was testing it out on my iPhone 5.
I tried to use air drop to share photos b/w my iPhone and my MBP running mountain lion, both has air drop enabled, but I couldn't see either on the air drop window.
is iOS 7 air drop not compatible with OSX air drop??

I have a Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard Folio i5. Also, even before reading your suggestions, I moved my phone hand set away from the iPad. There aren't any other sources within 10 feet although the phone base is within 30 feet. The WiFi router is about 5 feet away. Haven't had a chance to "troubleshoot" the connection.
Have you any suggestions for Air Drop or Air Print? My Pixma MP 450 which in excellent working order isn't compatable with either OS 10.9.x or iOS 7.
Canon suggested a Pixma MG 3520 which was hellatious to set up, requiring a big download and both a USB cable and Ethernet connection to the router, and isn't working with the iPad.
Clearly, technological "advancements" are for teeny boppers who spend their time taking phone pictures, sending mindless messages and listening to music. Oh, to be 14 again.

Miror airplay does not work with Mountain Lion with my MacBook either with my Apple Tv.

Yesterday I installed the Mountain Lion on my computer, it is a MacBook Pro i core 7 and Mirror's airplay function does not deplay on my superior tool bar and it does not work. Does anybody know how to make it work? The apple TV is the last model.

I just installed Mountain Lion today, after finally getting the up-to-date code from Apple.
I have also downloaded and installed the update for Mountain Lion, that fixed Powernap issues.
Maybe it could have something to do with the firmware on the Apple TV? I am currently running version 4.4.4(3330)

My printer does not work with mountain lion

I recently upgraded to Mountain Lion and now my HP Officejet Pro 8600 printer does not work. I downloaded the required driver from the App Store but am still not able to connect. Is there actually a solution for this or do I need to find a way to downgrade my OS to one that is compatible with my printer?
