I have the same problem and cannot change fields from edit mode to display only, secondly if anyone knows how to change the infotype only to display it will be greatly appreciated.
Secondly you only have an option for an edit button can this be change to a display button or should we change the webdynpro coding?

  • Importing NT User information into Portal

We are using Portal in an NT environment, and we have been able to get through the necessary single sign on issues.
Now, we need to pull our NT user information into Portal's user database, including all the groupings we already have set up so that we can take advantage of Portal's exceptional security features. This is key to our ability to use the product, and to our demo in a week.
The fact is we have 5,000 users to enter, and it is prohibitive for us to do that through the standard Portal APIs. We already have the users' input once in NT, we can get a flat file with all the information we need, we just need a way to get this information
into the appropriate tables within Portal's database.
Is there a script or some more "automated" way you can suggest for us to do this?

Maybe you could try to use an intermediate LDAP export file (ldif), since Active Directory is LDAP-based and you can plug a LDAP to your Portal SSO Login Server.
I only have tried exporting and importing using .ldif files up to now.
I also have heard about techniques to use NT user account info to log on to Portal ; 'could be easier.

  • Flex Student Information Management Portal help

I am building a student information management portal in flex /php (using AMFPHP), but being a Flex Newbie, I have been researching endless on the internet for help to kick start my project. My project will be interfacing with an oracle database system (which is not an issue, I have already built connection classes in php in my past projects). My problem is binding the data. It appears in my opinion that the data grid is the only way to output the data which will not work efficiently in my case. I need a fluid and flexible layout to present the data within the page. Can the query results be binded say in labels etc and if so, how can this be achieved. Any pointers to tutorial sites for beginners will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    Google "Flex in a week".
Yes, you can bind labels, but given that you are asking the question, you really have a way to go in knowing how to build a portal.

  • Portlet Information from Portal

    Hello,
I'm developing a non-SAP portlet that will be consumed by the portal and was wondering what information, if any, the portlet will have access to from SAP.  Basically I am wanting to know if I will be able to get any information about the user that logged into the portal.
    Thanks,
    Brandon

    Simon,
I've been looking into how to extract the user id from the SSO Ticket.  I found where I need the SAPSSOEXT stuff, but this seems to be just a patch to the SAP system.  My application will be on an external java server and thus will not have access to the libraries that this patch contains.  Do you know of a way for me to get the necessary libraries, such as in a .jar, so that they can be accessed on the external server?  Or can the SSO Ticket only be accessed by an application on the same server?
    Thank you for your assistance.
    Brandon

  • Extending 'People' Information in Portal

We need to add additional columns to the information found in the 'persons (wwv_persons)' table in the portal. What is the best way to do this (add an additional table and link the two)? We are trying to capture/write portlets to maintain user information. The client is also planning on using LDAP in the future, should we use this instead to hold all user info? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    thanks in advance.

The way I did this for a client was to build a custom registration portlet that inserts into the PERSON$ table and a custom table at the same time. The unique link could be the portal user name or id - they're both unique. However, as the user id differs between the PORTAL30 and PORTAL30SSO schemas it is best to use the name.
Others may differ! Of course the default amend user and account portlets will not see the new info, so you need to create new portlets for this too.
You could of course not bother using the PERSON$ tables for profile info and just use a custom schema (still using the portal username as the virtual key)
    Hope this helps!<HR></BLOCKQUOTE>
John, do you do portal development for customers? If so, would you mind e-mailing me your contact info at [email protected]?
We are looking for an experienced Portal developer to do some work for us.

  • Defaulting address information into portal screen fields - ESS

    Hi,
I have a slight issue, it goes something like this. In the backend when selecting  a post code - The City and distict will automatically default. This does not happen in the portal (EP7 - ERP2005). We get the drop down for the post code, but have to also select the city and district manually. Could someone explain is there a way of defaulting information, so that it works like the backend. Where is configuration?
The front end should behave like the backend.

    Hi,
I had the similar problem.  Several users reported that different ESS iviews were not coming up for them (such as time entry and create expense report) and that they were getting blank pages.  These users had proper permission in PCD and ECC back-end, and they had no problem with anyother iviews or pages.
I just tried Kwong Tat's suggestion of clearing personalization, and this fixed my problem.
I like to give Kwong Tat points, but I don't know how, since this is not my thread.
    Joon,

  • Archive History information from Portal

When you delete items in a folder it is not possible to keep track of them.
For security/political raisons we want to keep all information from the Portal, even deleted, expired items.
What is for you the best solution ?
Copy the deleted items via a trigger in a track folder is a good solution for you?

At the content area level, you have the option of retaining deleted items (edit the content area and go the "Items" tab). You can also choose whether you want to display the deleted items in the edit mode of a folder.
So, checking 'Retain Deleted Items' and unchecking 'Display Deleted Items' will allow you to retain all the deleted items without anyone knowing about it :-).
FYI, portal content areas discussion forum is better target for such content area related questions.

Can any body give information on these portals(i can access reports through internet).
Also any one would like share some documentation regarding portals.

Display of BI Content in the Portal
you can access reports through internet once you publish the templates or reports in the portal..check the link below how to publish in portal
BEx Web application as an iView
A BEx Web Application as an iView shows the current data for the BI report. From a technical viewpoint, a direct call of the BEx Web Application occurs in the BI system. You can combine the BEx Web Application as part of a portal page with other iViews from other systems as an iView.
You can change the properties of the iView so that BI bookmarks or BEx queries can be displayed. For more information, see

  • Information regarding Portal user licensing

    Hello Experts,
i am looking for some standard SAP documentation ,Article or PDF which describe the Portal users licensing procedure/process in detail.
Also if in production Portal let say there are 1000 users and due to some reasons they are not using Portal frequently their login frequency is very low.
So in this case how the licenses can be managed.
if any body faced the same scenario please share your experiences.
    Any inputs/suggestions are most welcome.
    Thanks,
    Siddharth

    Siddharth,
It would be best if you were able to contact you SAP Account Manager for any query related to licensing. I doubt you would be able to locate any facts / figures related to that.
    Thanks,
    GLM

  • Information about databases available through portal?

I am an Oracle Portal novice so please excuse the question. What type of information can I extract from a database using Oracle Portal so that it can be published to the web? I am interested in things such as (to name a few):
    Instance Alias
    Instance Name
    Server
    Port
    DB Version
    SGA Size and Status
    Tablespace information
    Connected Sessions

Most of this information (and more) can be retrieved through the portal immediately. There is a portlet for database information in Portal Admin Pages (portal30.home).
    Regards,
    Bram
