W_DAY_D loading

Hi
After implementing BI application 7.9. I noticed that there is no data in w_day_d ,I know that the taskgroup used in DAC to populate this table is Task_group_daydimension. But i tried to execute this task group but i could not figure out how to execute it.
Could you please help me giving the steps to execute it

We have OBI Application 7.9.6.1 (FIN,SCM,PSA analytics application).
We are using Oracle EBS 12.0.6 as the source system.
we are using the Enteprise Calendar in EBS to load the W_DAY_D,but the W_DAY_D is not getting Loaded with Enterprise WEEK or FISCAL week informations,
does any one have an answer to this question,how to load theEnterprise WEEK or FISCAL week information in the W_DAY_D table??
We have raised an SR with Oracle Support & got the reply that this is a product BUG & they have internaly raised an Enhancement Request.
God knows when this will be fixed??
Can any one provide me with a work around ?/

Error loading w_day_d

In trying to extend the date of w_day_d by setting the refresh dates of w_day_d, w_dual_g, w_week_d, w_month_d, w_qtr_d, and w_year_d to null, the tables are empty except for one row with the date of 1/1/1900.
This had previously worked when tested in preproduction environment multiple times. and still does. We have not found any difference between the environments in DAC setting, mappings, worflows, session, parameter, refresh dates, etc....
The only place where we see any difference is in the session log.
Both logs are exactly the same until you get to the reader/writer sessions. In the environment that works the reader starts after the writer and in the environment it did not work the writer starts after the reader.
Both sessions are returns the exact same amount of rows, one writes to the table, the other does not.
Has anyone run into this? Where would you specify when the reader/writer starts?

Populate W_DAY_D correctly
2011 is near...
Oracle BI Applications come with a predefined Informatica Repository and a pre-built DAC (Datawarehouse Administration Console) repository. When loading the BAW (Business Analysis Warehouse, the predefined schema) for the first time, this is called a full load.
One table is of particular interest: w_DAY_D, implementing the time dimension, storing one record for each day between 1st of January 1980 and 31st of December 2010.
The end day of this period is now raising concerns (and eyebrows) among admins and analysts over the globe as they see that date coming soon.
So how is W_DAY_D populated?
Using the DAC Client this question is easily answered. There are four tasks that take care of W_DAY_D.

The main task SIL_DayDimension has two parameters which are passed to the Informatica workflow.
$$START_DATE has a default value of 1980-01-01 and $$END_DATE one of 2010-12-31.
Before you can update these parameters, you have to create a custom container using the functionality in the DAC File menu. Once the container is created, go to the SIL_DayDimension task, click the Parameters tab and update the parameters according to your needs.
When a referenced object in the DAC repository is changed, it will be cloned and you have to commit that in a dialog box.

Now we have to enforce a full load on the W_DAY_D table, which means setting the table's refresh date to NULL. This is standard behavior of the DAC. It will start the task in full mode when the refresh date of the target table(s) are set to NULL.
To do this, navigate to Setup > Physical Data Sources > DataWarehouse and click the Refresh Dates tab. Here you query for the table and set the refresh date to NULL.
When the next execution plan (you will have to create a new one once you have created a custom container) is run, W_DAY_D will be loaded with the new range of dates.
Please keep in mind that you should only extend the date range and never narrow it, so if you have those dates of 1980 already in W_DAY_D, they should stay there for the sake of referential integrity.

DAC: Increase $$END_DATE in W_DAY_D

Hi All,
Currently we are using BI Apps version of 7.9.5, we found that in W_DAY_D table data is till Dec
30th 2010 only. How we can load data till 31st Dec 2020 in same table. There are 2 parameters
used in the SIL_DayDimension mapping $$START_DATE and $$END_DATE.
$$START_DATE = 01/01/1980
$$END_DATE = 12/31/2010
If we change the END_DATE value in parameter to 12/31/2020 and then load Day Dimension will it
load till 2020? Please let me know what steps need to follow to load till Dec 31st 2020.

Hi,
We are using Dac Build AN 10.1.3.4.1.20090415.0146.
The start date is 01-Jan-1980 and end date 31-dec-2010.
I am interested to change the end date to 31-dec-2020.
For that I have created a custom container.
Design -> Task -> Query on SIL_DayDimension ->Parameters
Click on value, change the end_date to required value.
Save.
Setup -> Physical Datasource
Click on DataWarehouse.
Change W_DAY_D Refresh dates to null.
After running DAC W_DAY_D table is not having any record and end_date is showing as blank in paramter file
So I want to change it to original one that is as it was before.
When I de-clone it, the value for end_date is showing as Custom Format() @MM/DD/YYYY and if I add any value to it the after running dac end_date is showing as blank in paramter file and W_DAY_D table is not having any record.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

List out the tables with row count=0, get the sql override query and execute in source to see # records for tables ending DS or FS where row count=0
do the same for tables ending with _D using warehouse db.
If fact tables are getting 0 records check the w_day_d table.

Problem with extending W_DAY_D table

Hi,
We are implementing BI Apps 7.9.6 for Oracle EBS - Fins. Configured time dimension's $$END_DATE to 12/31/2015. After a full load, all tasks are completed successfully but time dimension tables are populated up-to 12/31/2010 only.
Exactly followed how Oracle suggested on extending W_DAY_D. Went thru other previous forum discussions on this topic but none worked for me.
I changed the ownership of SIL_DayDimension, SIL_TimeDimension_MCALPeriod tasks and $$START_DATE, $$END_DATE parameters to custom container where my subject area lives but no change. The parameter file generated by DAC is always $$END_DATE=12/31/2010 for these two tasks.
Not sure where and why it is picking a wrong END_DATE value.
Is any of you faced this issue before?

Found it....END_DATE parameter is de-cloned and again changed the value to work.

Null Vaues in the W_DAY_D Table

Hi ,
We ran a full load for the W_DAY _D table and found that there are few null values with the row id for Feb 29 , feb 30 etc.
Is this a expected behaviour ?
We also altered the mapping to filter the null values ....

Hi All,
We happened to search the Oracle SRs and we found the following answer:
There are indeed invalid dates in W_DAY_D, but the dates should not be deleted from the table.
See Bug 6741828: REGARDING WIDS IN W_DAY_D, INVALID DATES SUCH AS 20080231 (31ST FEBRUARY, 2008)
Out-of-the-Box mapping for W_DAY_D has generated data with row_wid = 20080230
+(30th February, 2008) , 20080231 (31st February, 2008) and many other invalid+
dates like 20080431’ i.e. April 31st etc.
This is by design. These extra rows are used to service the month ago, quarter ago, year ago etc metric and join to the corresponding records in those periods. If these rows are deleted, then it will not be possible
For these invalid dates, the column CALENDAR_DATE in W_DAY_D is NULL.
To avoid returning these invalid dates in Answers, the following should be done in the rpd :
In Admintool open the rpd > go to the physical layer > physical table W_DAY_D > the column CALENDAR_DATE should have the flag Nullable set to false.

Issues with W_DAY_D

Hi All,
I have 10 years of data for Order Management that was loaded as Full. I am running nightly incremental loads.
I needed to replace the fiscal month calendar with the one client is using, i.e July is first month and June is month 12.
I placed the fiscal_month.csv file that client provided.
Since the year extends beyond 2010, I made the refresh date for the date dimensions NULL.
I changed the $$END_DATE parameter for SIL_DayDimension task to 2020 and pushed it to references.
The ETL fails to truncate W_DAY_D after the changes and I get unique constraint errors. Any reason why? Thanks for your responses

Well if you check the DAC tasks, then you'll see that only the SIL_DayDimension_UpdateFlag runs for incremental loads.
If you want to reload the W_DAY_D, then you need to reset the refresh date of the TARGET tables which then in turn will propagate to W_DAY_D. I.e.: The target tables for tasks starting with SIL_DayDimension*.
Alternatively (and that's what I do normally), create a Subject Area explicitely for W_DAY_D and its staging tables. This way you can run a reload of that table as often as you want through its own execution plan.

Open project cancelled or unable to load database...

I have been running version 9 sucessfully and moving projects around with no errors. Today, I cannot load any of my projects.
I have been through the threads and deleted the .cpj, moved the project to the root of my hard drive, etc.
Something else is going on.
I did see some information on files being blocked by the virus scanner. I'll pursue that with my help desk.
Any other ideas would be appreciated.

The only file that is MS Access based is the CPD file and it does not matter which version of Access you have on your machine, indeed you don't have to have Access installed.
If you have the same problems with the supplied sample projects, then maybe something has gone wrong with your installation of RoboHelp. Click Open on the RoboHelp Starter page and then click Samples in the ribbon on the left.

OBIEE Pre-Builts Loading one year at a time

Hi,
We are in a situation where we need to load one year at a time into the BAW (warehouse). I have seen this done before where the initial load was a full load and only went forward one year. Each subsequent load was for a complete year until we were current. After that, it was simply incremental loads with the standard prune days of 30.
Does anyone have any detail as to how to do this?

Is the issue a performance issue (ETLs running for too long)? The problem is that if you do Year by year..and you want to do a "incremental" load for each year, that would be even more of a load..since you are not allowing for BULK load (where the tables get truncated). Either you can truncate and do BULK or incrmental..which may be an even heavier load. I think you are assuming that this approach will somehow help you from a hardware limitation standpoint..do you know for sure that it will?
If you really do want to do it, as I mentioned, you can edit the INITIAL and END parameters. It would help if you clarify the Hardware limitation...I think there are better ways to handle this than to do what you are doing.

Adobe cloud tries to load addon which I have deleted in Extension manager

when Adobe Cloud starts it tries to load an application (Edge FX lite) that I have deleted in Adobe Extension Manager cc. I get the error message ' unable to install the addon EdgeFX lite error 603. How do I stop this?
Also in Adobe Exchange in 'My Stuff' there are showing addons which I have removed in Adobe extension Manager cc which I would like to be removed from this listing as I will never use them, but if I right click to uninstall I fail to get rid of them.

1) Go to https://creative.adobe.com/addons/
2) In the top right hand corner select sign in and enter your Adobe ID and password
3) Once logged in, on the center of the screen at the left hand side, select the link 'All your purchases and shared items'
4) You will then be taken to a page that is the equivalent of your My Stuff panel.
5) You can then install individual add-ons/extensions.

Load Times

I am installing Adobe Creative Cloud enterprise in a virtual lab environment. This lab basically reverts back to a pre-defined state during reboot - all user profiles are deleted. When a user logs in and starts Photoshop for the first time, it takes up to 30 seconds to load. If the user opens photoshop again while still logged in, it opens in about 2 seconds. How can I speed photoshop up so it loads quickly the first time when a user launches it? Are there settings in the user profile that I can copy to other users? Is there something I can disable on the first load? etc. I tried copying some of the profile settings to the default profile, but that only reduces the launch time to about 10 seconds. InDesign is another example. Using Windows 7 x64, 8GB RAM machines. No other special software installed except office 2013. Thanks.

Probably nothing you can do. It's likely not PS itself, its the licensing stuff and the updaters, which naturally will have a hard time in a VM that prevents them from accessing certain things. Or in short: You are forcing them into quirks mode and it may take forever until they have established their port connections after a million failed attempts.

could you give the BW version also and what data you are trying to load and where ?
Ideally try replicating the datasource once again... and check your source system connection.

How do I use edge commons composition loader to load multiple compositions with a next and back button?

I am working on an interactive book and have set up each page as a separate composition in edge.
I am using the edge commons JS library to load multiple compositions into a main composition.

The way the edge commons tutorial is set up requires a button for each composition i want to load. I am interested in loading multiple compositions with a "next" and "back" button, and a "swipe left, "swipe right" gesture on the content symbol that each composition is loaded into. I also need the swipe features on the content symbol not to interfere with the interactive elements on the loaded composition.
Please suggest a solution that will work without adding additional scripts beyond edge commons and jquery.

Sort of. I'm using this code inside an action for a button symbol. But it doesn't work perfectly. Trying to debug it.
