Post your shipping and order management experiences here:
Here are some common points of frequent discussion:
How to get a system fast: Buy an in-stock standard configuration from Lenovo or a Lenovo Partner in your area. Customized systems take longer.
Avoid Credit Holds - ensure that BOTH your bill to and ship to addresses are listed with your CC bank before ordering
Lenovo will NOT bill your card until order ships - an authorization charge hold to check for available balance may show up when order is first placed.
Estimated ship dates are based on default lead time and can vary from what was displayed on website.
In the US and Canada, Lenovo utilizes UPS for new product shipments
Orders may ship before the Estimated Ship Date
Orders may enter through Alaska and pass through Louisville, KY before traveling on to final address
Cancellation requests may take up to 2 days to process
Requests to change configuration or other aspects of the order may require the order to be rebooked.
Lenovo does not accept payment via international credit cards, except AMEX.

Order Experience? Here goes ... I ordered a W541 configuration on 2/27 along with some accessories (one of which is delayed until July?*?). The bag and docking station should arrive tomorrow (3/9), and the laptop on Thursday (3/12). On March, I received an email from the <XYZ> employee discount program, and configured the same configuration. Turns out it was about $500 cheaper. I contacted Lenova, and the rep (through online chat) told me to configure the same order and take a screenshot. Well, the mistake here, and it wasn't never mentioned, was that the accessories should not have been included in the second configuration, only the laptop. I tried pleading my case to a couple of reps, even short of threating to kill the employee that lied to me, but they wouldn't budge. Since the deal (email) sent to me ended on Sunday, I can't reconfigure the same deal. To me, that is bunch of bs. Lenovo does not care about honoring anything.  My next question was what is the process to return the laptop. Of course, they will charge me a 15% restocking fee. Perfect. That's great, it's lose/lose for the customer and win/win for Lenovo. Perhaps it was my fault, for not taking the time to find out more about the price matching policy, and taking the word of a certain employee. So, for future reference, only include the item that will be priced matched in the cart!! At any rate, when the laptop arrives, I will take out the drive and ram and replace it. I'll also replace the DVD drive with a second SSD. So it will have 32GB of RAM and 1TB of SSD space (2 512GB SSDs). I had planned to buy two 28" ThinkVision monitors, but I won't be doing that. I can't justify buying another item from Lenovo, nor recommend their brand to anyone. I'd really like to just return everything, but I'll still be charged ... so, I guess I'm screwed and will just have to make do!This isn't an excuse, but you shouldn't trust sales reps online. Pretty much every company hires the dumbest idiots off the street and doesn't teach them anything except how to look up promotional material you can already see yourself. I have yet to see a competent online sales rep that had a clue about what they were selling.

  • ThinkPad S-Series Shipping Thread

Ordered an S440 with a few upgrades on the 15th, and was wondering when everyone else got theirs? Ordering to the UK, and I haven't seen many threads that have orders being delayed etc. so I think I may have got it lucky and ordered one that doesn't have inventory issues or such.

    Thanks for the info Christovic.
Just ordered a S431 today (we don't have S440 in Canada yet). Yesterday it would take "more than 4 weeks" to ship as soon as I upgraded to the HD+, today it was "less than 7 days". Not sure what changed.

Still was there any notice somewhere that I missed?
Fact is that I am just preparing for the Java 5 Programmer (Beta) Exam and I wonder wether there are any additional changes in Java 5 that I may have missed?
BTW: I tried to look up the rules for infering the actual return type of <T> T chose(T trueExpr, T falseExpr);. Only then I noticed that the latest generics spec in fact consists of a whole new draft of the Java Language Spec, 3rd edition. Nice find. Is that the latest draft available?
I gave up however on understanding the exact semantics of infering types of generic method's type parameters as defined in 15.12 - it's not that improtant after all ;-)

    My applogies.
    Let me elaborate;-
"The MIDP 2.0 specification recommends four protection domains for GSM/UTMS devices: the manufacturer, operator, trusted third party, and untrusted domains. <ul><li>The manufacturer domain uses root certificates belonging to the device producer.</li>
<li>The operator domain is used for the network operator MIDlets and may use root certificates available on storage such as SIM cards.</li>
<li>The trusted third party domain will encompass well-known Certificate Authorities' (CA) root certificates.</li>
<li>Finally, the mandatory untrusted domain has not an associated root certificate and is used for unsigned and MIDP 1.0 MIDlet suites. "</li>
    </ul>
    More elaboration here : http://www.forum.nokia.com/info/sw.nokia.com/id/88b8bf92-ab04-46b0-a07a-7c3e835e6d1e/MIDP_2_0_Tutorial_On_Signed_MIDlets_v1_1_en.pdf.html
SMS in practice is an exception to the general midp policy which specially while sending message will always ask for confirmation even if in trusted third party domain. However, this depends on implementation and exceptions can be found. Some operators (mainly found with CDMA) does not support "Always allowed" option even in restricted apis other than wma.

    Was; 4 month ship date?!
On sept 9th I purchased a yoga 13 + extended warranty from lenovo's Canadian site.
My shipdate has been pushed back more than 4 times...
The current shipdate is Dec 31st 2013. That is over 16 weeks.... (114 days)
The only reason I ordered online is because the yoga was not available locally in the month I ordered it. Now it is available locally for cheaper than I paid at any time. Also the lenovo website says that new orders for the yoga will ship within the month.
When I talked to support and they said they do not know why it is taking so long and that I can not cancel my order. Apparently it has gone too far. Even though it will not be made for another 2 months... Unless the date gets pushed back again.
I would like to either get a laptop or cancel my order... I need a laptop to take notes for school.
Is this the typical experince for ordering from lenovo or did I just have bad luck? Also at this point it is propbialy better for me to get a yoga 2 since they will be out long before my yoga 1 ships...

  • X-series appreciation thread

As many find their way to these forums for problem resolution, some posting negative thoughts, I opened this thread to express my complete satisfaction with the Thinkpad X61. It's not a review of any sort, just a post giving full kudos to Lenovo for a well-designed and solidly built machine with all the bells and whistles needed for anyone conducting serious or casual business.
I recently took possession of the X61 7675-92U w/T7500 (2.2GHz CPU) with the Ultrabase and can't get over how well this little machine performs. For a seasoned traveller, this machine is small enough to carry around without any thoughts or consideration to weigh, yet it performs comfortably at par with the more "powerful" T-series sibblings and sits comfortably on any desk for some serious number-crunching or a little distraction. I had a T61 before this and I can honestly state that this little X61 is not only a great performer, but is also a solidly built machine, loaded with all sorts of connectivity solutions and running as cool as a cucumber - and surprisingly, there's nothing lost in having a lower resolution screen.
So here's a two-thumbs up to Lenovo for putting together a fantastic system in a tiny package!

Absolutely not necessary, it's about the X-Series in the X-Series board.
I have seen X number of X-Series over several years; I must say it is the series which presents the least number of problems for me. The predecessor 240 was just as reliable and equally fantastic.

  • WWE Thread 2015

Welcome to the WWE Thread for 2015. Here you can chat to fellow WWE fans, get help and advice from the WWE Community and generally share some banter on WWE TV shows and PPV's.
This is the place where all WWE related stuff is, and if you find any posts WWE related please do link the member to this thread. If you get a chance please do visit and comment on my blog about pro-wrestling, it would mean a lot to me.
This is the break down of the WWE PPV's on Sky Box Office. This is always subject to change so keep coming back here regularly.
For those of you that don't have the WWE Network and are looking to Sky+ WWE PPV's rather than staying up, or any other Sky Box Office Event for that matter, you should follow the following screen shots to ensure you don't order to view only and you instruct your Sky+ box to order to record.
First find your event by pressing the Box Office bottom near the top of your Sky Remote Control.
This screen will pop up on on your TV.
Ensure the event you are looking to order is highlighted. Then press the Record button on your Sky Remote Control.
his page will pop up and then all you need to do here is press select
Your Sky+ Planner will then show that you have ordered the event and most importantly you have selected the event to record. If you press the Select button, rather than the (R) Record button you will enable the event to be viewed only which will of course includes any of the repeat showings. All other Sky+ features will be usable during the show too.
Please also remember that if you had a Sky Multi-screen subscription prior to December 2013 your phone line will have to be connected to the box. This is for billing purposes.
A big welcome to you all! Have a wrestling daft year!

What also worries me is if the PPV's are on VOD next day which acts the same as a recording of it as that was the convenience with watching the PPV's on SKY.Finally, the PPVs are available on VOD as soon as they have finished broadcasting "live"  (they may even be available on VOD before it's actually finished, so you can watch it from the start - before the events actually finished, although I've never been awake at 1am to test that!).  Either way, you don't have to wait long and it's an exact copy of the Live version,  not aware of any edits or cuts made to it on the VOD plays.

  • Question regarding over ONE MONTH delivery time?

    Hello all,
I am aware of the W-Series shipping thread, but it hasn't been updated in some time so I wasn't sure it was still active. Others complained there of long and inaccurate delivery times, but others had the inverse experience - so I thought I would ask anyway.
I purchased a W520 online earlier today, but checking my order status tonight reports that the laptop itself is scheduled for a ship date of the first of May. Assuming I allow only a week for the delivery to actually arrive, it means I'm waiting over a month for my purchase to arrive. This seems like a very long time!
When I purchased the laptop, the site reported an estimated ship date of April 17th. Ten days until the hardware ships is resonable for this type of purchase. A thirty day wait is not (especially when there was no warning of backorder or delay when I made the purchase). Had I known upfront the estimated delay would be so bad, I never would have made the purchase. Now I understand that the delivery date provided during purchase is an estimate, and in no way a guarantee, but the delta between the two dates has me concerned. It took quite a bit of research for me to get over the purported SSS issue, and that buying a Lenovo was still a smart move - but once again I'm starting to worry.
My hope is that the estimated ship date listed under my Order Status will change to a date that is closer to the date given during the purchase, and that I won't be waiting a moon cycle to get my new W520. The purchase was made less than twenty-four hours ago, and although Lenovo said it will only take six hours for my Order Status to populate, I'm hoping this is simply a calculation error. Why I am truly worried and am bothering to post this question, however, is that other items I purchased in the same order DO have realistic ship and delivery dates. I ordered a sleeve to accompany my W520, and my Order Status is already reporting that it will ship 4/8 and be delivered 4/13. If this is accurate, and it does seem plausible, it makes it more likely my W520 estimated ship date is also accurate. And that is basically unacceptable.
Has anyone recently purchased/received a W520, and if so how long was the delivery delay? Am I (hopefully) correct in assuming the May first ship date is simply an early calculation by the Order Status page and will be updated to reflect a more realistic ship/delivery date? Has anyone else experienced an issue with early estimates of ship date on their Order Status being inaccurate and abnormally long?
My specs are i7-2640M, 15.6" FHD (1920x1080), Quadro 2000M, 8 GB RAM, 320GB Hard Disk Drive (7200rpm). Everything else was stock.
Thanks in advance for any insight or help. Here is to hoping I won't have to cancel this order because of what should be an easily avoidable issue.
    ~G

We don't see many users showing up here in the forum with new W520 machines right now, which may indicate sales are slow, which naturally makes you wonder why the wait is so long to ship new W520 orders. But someone just caught a store in the Netherlands accidentally featuring the new Lenovo Ivy Bridge/Kepler laptops (also see here) in their online store for sale.
So if the detailed ordering info for the new machines is at the retailer level right now, then Lenovo will likely announce the new laptops on or just after April 29, when Intel is expected to officially release the new Ivy Bridge processors. And it also means Lenovo has probably diverted much of its current production resources to building the new machines for the release.
That may explain the W520 shipping delays, although it's certainly a pain in the rear for anyone who wants to buy one of the current models, before they go out of stock. Anyway, a little buzz is always entertaining--that's certainly what makes the Apple world go round (the Apple forums are rife with about 150 pages of Ivy Bridge buzz, vs. almost nothing here in the W-series forum, so this forum may be asleep).
I'm dying to see test results of Nvidia's killer GTX 680M Kepler-based mobile graphics processor (and workstation sibling) when it finally comes out, although that may take a bit longer (and may only ship in 17" machines). But it should have roughly 3.4 times the performance of the Quadro 2000M.

  • Ship to party should be editable for export sales org only

    Hi,
i am copying quatation to order and that time ship to party is coming non editable.
i want to make this field editable  specific for one sales organisation only so pls help me in this.
Edited by: Monty garg on May 19, 2011 6:37 AM

    Dear Monty,
The Ship-to-Party editable is being controlled by the Partner function assignment settings.
If you want to restrict the change of Ship-to-Party in the Sales Order then the setting needs to be done in the following path
SPRO--> Sales and Distribution --->Master Data -->Basic Functions -->Partner Determination -->Set Up Partner Determination --->Set Up Partner Determination for Sales Document Header. Here for the PDP select the partners in the procedure and against the Partner Function SH maintain the tick against Not Modifiable.
Please note this depends on the PDP assignment to Sales document type and not on the Sales Org.  If you have separate account group  PDP and Sales Doc type for the Export sales then you can control based on the above settings.

    Karthik Krishnan

    Hai Irfan Ullah,
    In Sales - customer
    1. Partners are listed (SP,BP,PY, SH)for account group and Partner Determination procedure(TA) is assigned to it
Now for sales order type you need to assign the partner determination process
    SPRO
    Sales and Distribution
    Basic Functions
    Partner Determination
    Set Up Partner Determination
    Execute
Set Up Partner Determination for Sales Document Header
Select TA - standard order from the right side list
and select Partner Determination Procedure Assignment (from left)
Now assign your sales type to Partner determination TA.
Create a SALES order you can find the sold to and ship to are editable.
