W2k8R2sp1::Eventlog service does not start::cause: JavaWS service does not start
Windows Web Server W2k8R2sp1 Problem
Eventlog service does not start
- Cause: Java Web Start does not start
-- Cause: Had a virus in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.6.0_03\bin\javaws.exe"
(AVG removed file. Re-installed java in: S:\Java\re1.8.0_31
In registry: file-paths seem to be okay (regedit find: javaws, Java Web Start)
Can't find a solution on-line.
What to do?
It is a dedicated production server managed by remote desktop (Leaseweb.com, ip: [37.48.64.130])
Any help will be highly appreciated.
Thanx in advance,
Dick
Hi Vivian,
Rebooted several times
The point is the event-viewer is not working. Because the eventlog-process is not running/starting. Because JavaWS-process isn't starting

I have contacted at&t and they did what was nessary to unlock my phone was told to backup my phone and did that so know I just need to restore my phone with ituens which ituenes will not let me do cause I get message can not connect to cause of no internet connection wich is not true cause other wise you would not have gotten this
Try restoring the iPhone to factory settings. If you are having difficult restoring, put the iPhone into Recovery Mode and see if that then works:
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808
If not, or if a restore to factory settings does not fix the problem, then your iPhone may have a hardware problem. You can only get the iPhone serviced by Apple in Canada, so you will have to take the iPhone there or send it to someone you know in Canada who can get the iPhone serviced and send it back to you. The only option for getting service in Pakistan would be to pay some unauthorized repair shop to attempt a repair, after which Apple will no longer provide any service even in Canada.

Could any one provide solution to overcome this issue.Hi,
I guess I've seen this before even we've repository and incremental backup configured fine on ACS. One reason could be for the above alarms is the configuration on the GUI might not have taken over completely in the database and alarms will trigger due to that. Please restart the services of the ACS or reload the ACS in off production hours.

OC4J when started as Win Service does not map URL for analytics website
Hi All,
When OC4J is started as a console and user enters the URL http://server-1/analytics it is automatically mapped to URL http://bof-iclu-1/analytics/saw.dll?Dashboard and we get the dashboard login page displayed.
Now I have created a Windows Service to Automatically start the OC4J serivce.
When OC4J is started as a service and user enters the URL http://server-1/analytics it does not map to the Dashboard URL and we get the website cannot display the page. However entering the complete URL http://server-1/analytics/saw.dll?Dashboard the login page is displayed.
I believe the issue is cause by the OC4J being started as a service and not as a console start.
Any idea what the issue could be?
Do I need to change any of the configuration xml files?
Where do the configuration setting for website mapping and welcome files is mentioned in the Oc4j?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Best Regards
BThis is not going to help but you shouldn't be using OC4J for anything other than development.

Hi at all.... I'm a newbie with database oracle.,
I have the follow problem:
I installed Oracle Database 11g R2 XE on my guest operating system CentOS 6.5.
I have changed the hostname in my SO CentOS (where is installed oracle 11g R2 XE) after installation was completed successfully.
-) Before and during installation the hostname was localhost.
-) After installation I changed the hostname in VMCentOS
From the moment I changed the hostname, nothing starts up automatically. In particular, the listener and the database instance does not starts up automatically.
When I starts up the listener manually and I try to connect to database instance with SQLPLUS i get this error:
ORA-12514: TNS:listener does not currently know of service requested in connect descriptor
I think that the problem is due to the changed hostname because I, for testing and debugging purpose, re-installed a new OS CentOS virtual machine, re-installed oracle database 11g and I have not got that problem. The database instance and the listener starts up automatically!
Can any one tell me if maybe the problem is related to the hostname changed? ... and Why?
P.S.: After changed the hostname I have also modified the listener.ora and the tnsnames.ora by modifying the HOST with the correct hostname.-) Output of command chkconfig (there isn't any line oracle-xe 0:off 1:off 2:on 3:on 4:on 5:on 6:off):

OK, spent about 25 frustrating hours so far this weekend doing everything recommended on numerous threads here -- uninstalling and reinstalling itunes and all Apple items. Help?
I am using Windows Vista home premium. After the last iTunes update to 12, it suddenly would not work. I followed, to a T, all instructions to uninstall all Apples software, in the correct order, reboot, download the latest iTunes, run as administrator, plug in the iPhone 5S, let the driver install, and then finish.
Along the way, I received the error that "Service 'Apple Mobile Device' (Apple Mobile Device) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services." I am the administrator and have privileges. (I previously followed instructions from anther thread to change the read-only privileges for Apple folders, but to no avail. I also deleted every file with the word Apple in it after I uninstalled everything.) I did a retry and then an ignore during installation of the AMD error, which I have received 10 times.
The other error I keep getting is: "iTunesHelper was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7." I have done that 20 times.
Other frequent error: "iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 998)."
I followed other threads suggestions to install Windows .NET versions 3.5 and 4.0. No help. I also looked for various specific Apple files in various folders for DLLs, etc. Not present. I have rebooted 50 times and tried different users on my home account as well. Nothing.
I also followed instructions to Manage my computer under "services." Under Apple Mobile Device, the setting is for "automatic." When I try to get it to "start," the error I receive is "Windows could not start the Apple Mobile Device on Local Computer. Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion." (I followed previous thread instructions to use the CMD prompt to stop it. That caused problems because the status was then "stopped," but I was able to restart it later once I figured that out -- but with the 1053 error again.)
I think I've tried every suggestion in every thread for the four errors I keep getting (AMD failed to start; iTunesHelper Error 7; Windows error 998; and AMD Error 1053.) I am fresh out of ideas and very frustrated. I mostly want to make sure I don't lose my music and photos, which I was about to sync.
The only other thing I see that is strange on my computer (which I discovered along the way) is that I cannot receive automatic windows updates and have not had an update since 2012. My iTunes worked a month ago, so that was obviously not a show-stopper in the past, but perhaps there is a Vista update I need for iTunes 12? I have service pack 2 for Vista. I have followed all threads to try to set my windows to automatic update, but no joy there either. It checks for updates and then fails. I followed instructions and did run an installation to install windows automatic updates, but that doesn't work either. I tried 10 times. It runs and takes a while, but is never able to successfully update windows. It says "checking for updates" for a while. Then it dies. My last update was 6/19/12 (failed) and it says the most recent check was 6/22/12, but I have tried 20 times on 10/31/14 and 11/1/14.
When asked to "Install new Windows Update software" to check for updates, I have done so 10 times. It downloads and installs, but never works.
It's an old Dell desktop computer from 2006, and I'm using an iPhone 5S. I am fresh out of ideas. Anyone really smart here?
Thanks.
TristanUpon latest reboot, I also received this error message: "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005). Click OK to terminate the application."
Then I got the iTunesHelper not installed correctly error again.
Then the "Windows can't check for updates" error message.
Then "Apple Push has stopped working." Then a quick DEP error message that disappeared but said something about Apple Push being closed.
I'm also getting denials of service logged by McAffee. Not sure if I'm getting a virus/attack or not.
Not sure if it's a problem with my old desktop machine, my Windows Vista updates, or iTunes, but I'm very frustrated and out of ideas to try.
Thank you for your help!

Note: Able to login sqlplus using "sqlplus sys/sys as sysdba" but failing to access database table as "select * from PSRECDEFN;"

I have no luck and the error still persists.
I have set the "export ORACLE_SID=HCM" from root user and oracle user too.
I guess, I have already loaded database when I ran the "cd /opt/oracle/psft/vm

Hi All,
While restarting the hyperion service we see this exception. Nothing was changed on the hyperion server. Checking with DB team if anything was change on their end.
Caused By: weblogic.common.ResourceException: weblogic.common.ResourceException: Could not create pool connection. The DBMS driver exception was: Listener refused the connection with the following error:ORA-12514, TNS:listener does not currently know of service requested in connect descriptor

We don't have oracle client on our end, so this is not a tnsnames issue. This is preventing all the hyperion services coming up.
Thanks,The listener is up , the message is from the listener indicating the listener does not know of SID/SERVICE name that you are giving it. Manually connect to the db using sqldeveloper in order to make sure the parameters you are providing are working. Pay special attention to SID vs SERVICE_NAME. Then try to open config tool and go back to your database connection info. Reconfigure your database connection. It will likely you will find your connection error there. Also sometimes the config tool has trouble figuring out whether you mean SID or SERVICE_NAME. You can open advanced properties on the connection in configtool and specify / or : in the url.

My MacBook Pro, does not start after pushing start button. The side bar starts and stops at half way.
Hy myneck,
Happy Holidays! The resource below may provide some steps to try if your MacBook Pro won't start.
Troubleshooting: My computer won't turn on - Apple Support
http://support.apple.com/en-us/TS1367
This article discusses what to do if your Mac won't turn on. To differentiate this from a display issue, be sure that when you press the power button:
You don't hear a startup chime.
You don't hear any fan or drive noise.
There is no video on your built-in or external display
If your computer has power but doesn't display any video, it may have one or more of these similar symptoms when you press the power button:
You may hear a startup chime.
You may hear fan or drive noise.
You may see a light from the Sleep LED (if your Mac has one).
Pressing the Caps Lock key on the keyboard causes it to light.
If any of these display-related conditions occur, see Troubleshooting: My computer has no video instead. Otherwise, continue with this article.
If your computer won't turn on, try each of these steps:
Verify you have a good connection from your Mac to the wall outlet by confirming the power cord and adapter if present are securely connected and plugged in. To check if the wall outlet is working, plug in a lamp or other electrical device.
If the wall outlet is working and you continue to have no power try another power cord or adapter if available. If it works you may need a replacement cord or adapter.
Note: See Apple Portables: Troubleshooting MagSafe adapters for further troubleshooting with MagSafe adapters.
Disconnect all accessories that are plugged in to the computer, such as a printer, hub, or other mobile device.
If your Mac supports user-installable memory, solid state drive, or hard drive, and you recently installed any of these, make sure they are installed correctly and are compatible with your computer. If possible, reinstall the original memory or drive into the computer to find out if the behavior persists afterwards.

If you are still unable to start up your computer after trying each of these steps, visit an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP) for further diagnosis. If you plan to visit an Apple Retail Store, make a reservation at the Genius Bar using http://www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar/ (available in some countries only).Note: Diagnostic fees may apply for issues not covered under warranty or the AppleCare Protection Plan (APP).

Reminder 10.4.7 does not necessarily cause most of the issues you see here
Every software update people come in here, and blame the software on it causing one issue or another. There is a falacy here. I've updated the operating system with every update Apple has released for Mac OS X since Mac OS X public beta. While there have been some very small issues that appear along the way, usually I've found these issues had some contributing factor. The order of these causes is strictly random, however I've seen people who have had these causes isolated and off on their merry way:
1. Cache files.
2. Font corruption.
3. Preferences corruption.
4. Drivers not updated.
5. Permissions not repaired.
6. Third party software addons, anti-virus, firewall software not updated for the operating system in question.
7. Firmware not updated.
8. Directory damage.
9. Hardware not tested with the update, or damaged.
Many of these issues are very hard to isolate. Please do not tag along your post on another thread if it does not seek to resolve the issue of that thread, and start a new topic so that your unique may be isolated and determined and not confused with others. Please be very specific in your post title about what does not work, and do not assume that the update itself was the cause. And remember, always backup prior to updates to make isolating such issues if you come across them easier. Usually you won't see any of these issues. But if you do, remember that the update is not necessarily the cause even though it is the last thing you did.
Thank you.I agree. In fact, I find all of these recent posts that blame user error for problems with the 10.4.7 update to be arrogant and presumptuous.
The fact is, Macs are designed to be user-friendly. That includes users who know little about how computers function--who don't possess the technical expertise to predict what kind of precautions or system changes need to be made before they follow the simple directions provided by Apple--who simply want to follow directions and have their machines function properly. That's why many of us bought Macs in the first place.
Software Update is supposed to be a simple program where you follow the directions and get the results you need. It is not intended to instruct anyone or to test their technical knowledge.
The directions didn't tell us anything about clearing our cache, backing up, or any other precautions. It simply said, "New software is ready for download. Now be a good little Mac user and start clickin'."
I find this whole mess absolutely negligent of Apple and I am very upset that they haven't stepped up to the plate, admitted their MASSIVE mistake, and DONE SOMETHING for their loyal customers.
We can't be expected to fix every problem that pops up since the 10.4.7 update. We can't be expected to waste our time seeking answers on the forums or visiting our local Genius Bar. Apparently, these 10.4.7 problems are going to keep on comin', and it. is. a. waste. of. our. friggin'. time!
That's just BAD service.
Come on, Apple. Just release some sort of update to uninstall the 10.4.7 mess that everyone can use! -

I uninstalled Beta 4 and re-installed 3.6.13 now Firefox will not open at all I tried to uninstall to start again but it will not uninstall either it does nothing, I have been using Firefox for a long time but cannot resolve this problem can anyone help and give me a solution please. As I use Firefox as my web browser it is very frustrating.
The fact it will not uninstall appears to be something completely new as nobody I know who uses Firefox has ever encountered this in the past.Did you check your security software (firewall)?
A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox without informing you about that, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process.

I just upgraded to the New OS on my Mac Book Pro and now my trackpad does not zoom in or out. I looked at system settings on trackpad and it is set, but does not work How do I get it started?
This is really unfortunate. I'm sorry that nothing works. I was going to mention holding down the power button and doing a force shutdown but you already did that. You might need to take it into the Apple store. I don't know if booting into safe mode would help. You would have to turn off the machine again, hit the start button and hold down the shift key after you hear the tone, but normally you would let go of the shift key when you see the apple logo and spining wheel. Maybe by holding down the shift key after you here the tone will cause the screen to come back on? The other option is to start up from the 'install disk' if your machine came with one. You would insert the disk, then shut down the computer, and hold down the C key right after hitting the start button.
Here's the link for the safeboot

The command was successfully executed.Hi,
no, you got it wrong:
Oracle uses network services which are a logical representation of the database to resolve network requests.
in your ntsnames.ora file you have the following:
network_alias = my_alias -- here you can write anything you just need to resolve it correctly
(DESCRIPTION=
(ADDRESS=
(PROTOCOL=TCP)
(host=hostname or IP)
(port=listener adapter port)
) -- this a complete socket information of the listener adapter!!
(CONNECT_DATA=
(SERVICE=your_service) -- this is what you tell the listener about the service you want to connect to. It is defined in the instance with the paramter service_names
In general it is network aliasses which are resolved with connect descriptor in the tnsnames.ora.
A connect decriptor consists of the address part + the connect_data part.
The address part is used to reach the listener.
The connect_data part is the information you hand over to the listener.
So the listener must know the service name.
The listener can either know this from the instance itself. When an Oracle instance is started it tries to registrer itself with a listener which listens on port 1521 for the protocol TCP.
The instance tell this listener two paramater values: INSTANCE_NAME and SERVICE_NAMES. Then the listener knows the instance and which services are defined. It is just a reprentation of the database to the listener.
If the listerner knows the service requested with a connect, it can establish a connection to a service handler. This could be a dedicated server process or a dispatcher.
Another mehtod to let the listener know the service requested is so called static regustration of the instance. This is made with an SID LIST in the listener.ora file.
Then the listener knows SID for the instance plus ORACLE_HOME and can find the executable to start a server process for a connect request.
Hope it helps a little-.
=;-)
