W520 Base System Device PCI Bus 13 missing driver

About a month ago I had to do a full restore of my W520 as Windows was totally hosed.  I thought that I had all of the right drivers at that time, but I notice that I have an item in Device Manager that is unrecognized.  Does anyone know what this is?
Also, maybe related or maybe not, there is an Unknown device on Location "on Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Embedded Controller"  Is this related or something else?
Thank you!  Pete

That should be the "Lenovo PM Driver" Listed under your driver matrix as "Power Management" I can link to it once I can get the Driver support page working, as it is buggy right now.

  • DV6416eo.. 500GB HDD, Windows 7. Base system devices w/o drivers

    Hie
    I replaced the original HDD with a 500GB WD5000BEVT.
It works fine after I disabled Native SATA Support.
    I installed Windows 7.
Enabling Native SATA Support gives me a blue screen, and Windows 7 can't fix the problem.
In device manager, I get in Other devices:
Base system device - PCI bus 5, device 5, function 2
Base system device - PCI bus 5, device 5, function 3
    No drivers for these.
What would these devices be? Native SATA support?

    Hello uesy,
It appears that you're missing some device drivers after upgarding to Win 8.1.
Unfortunately for that notebook, there were no drivers provided by HP after Windows Vista. The only driver support available would be what Windows installs for it during the install.
Have you already tried going into the Device Manager and updating the drivers there?
That would be the only other way.
Sorry for the inconveince this may cause you.
Thank you for posting on the HP Forums.

missing driver on  HP pavilion dv4 the base system device drive,as a result of these i cant access sound on system.

    Hi:
The base system device is most likely your card reader.
Missing audio is related to something else.
On the bottom of your PC on the sticker with the serial number, please post your p/n.
That will identify the specific model of your dv4 and I can send you the link to the drivers.
The p/n should be arranged similar to this:  AF846AW#ABA

  • T500 Base System Device and PCI Device issue

    Hello everyone,
I cant seem to find the right driver for the Base System Device.  Earlier this morning, I had 4 ?s named Base System Device (under Other Devices in the Device manager).  Once I ran the ThinkVantage System Update, the other 2 Base System Device have disappeared.  How come I still have 2 listed that need to be updated?  Also, the PCI Device has a ! sign.  Any ideas?
I've already tried running the system update, and installed the Ricoh 4 in 1 card reader.
    Thanks for your help.
