W520 windows 7 gps navigation software

Just realised that an old sim card can activate the gps. So has anyone found good route guidance / navigation software for windows 7?
Eventually using bluestacks with google maps navigation might be the best but I wouldn't mind trying some of the PC based ones first.

Hi maille
Use ThinkVantage GPS software which is provided by Lenovo.
Best Regards,

  • N95 GPS Navigation Software-also for the USA as we...

    Hello,
For the N95 phone, can you install and keep up to date its GPS Navigation software so that it properly works anywhere in the USA as well as for Europe?
    Tom

hey tom,i think you could download the free map from NOKIA, and then the the GPS will works good, or the other way, you could download the Route66 Nav software for N95, it's good and i think it will be the best choice!

  • Using N95's GPS with navigation software installed...

    Good Day,
Is it possible to connect the phone to a Laptop in such a way that the GPS signal will be transmitted to the navigation software installed on the Laptop?
    Tnx.

    Hi hanoch1hendel
Unfortunately that is not possible and there is no comparison between performance of the internal Texas Instruments GPS5300 NaviLink 4.0 chip in N95 due to it's antenna placing with an external SIRF StarIII receiver.

  • Palm GPS Navigator With Garmin Mobile XT Software

I recently purchased the above navigator for my husband for Christmas.  How frustrating that the maps don't display!!!  No where on the description of the item that I purchased did it say I'd have to unlock maps, etc.  Where and how do I go about unlocking these maps?  I'm ready to return this item and tell Palm exactly how I feel.

The only 3rd party apps you can install on your iPhone is what is available via the iTunes app store. There are a number of 3rd party GPS navigation apps available for the iPhone with maps used by the application stored locally on the iPhone with the application.

  • New iMac w/ Lion: MP Navigator software won't scan on my PIXMA MP780

Bought the iMac w/ Lion, and now my MP Navigator  2.0 software won't scan on my PIXMA MP780. Tried installing MP Navigator 3.0, but it gives me the "The scanner driver supported by this software is not installed. Install it and retry". Any help?
I know that there have been similar answers (https://discussions.apple.com/message/15333807#15333807), but I'm curious to know if these answers will work with Lion.
    Many thanks!
    Dave
P.S. For those of you with similar issues, I did find a workaround; I found I could use the printer driver from within system prefs as a scanner. Here's what you might try to do if you're having the same trouble I am:
    Open system preferences
Select "Hardware -> Print and Scan"
Click on the icon for your installed printer on the left side of the screen
After doing so, you might see buttons for Print and Scan above the data that then shows on the right side of that window.
Click on "Scan" and see if this particualr utility works.
It worked for my MP780. Not ideal (I'm used to the MP Navigator software), but it'll do.

Be sure to do some homework before trying again.  There is plenty of advice on the internet, for example:
    http://www.macworld.com/article/1161087/install_lion_over_leopard.html
As gumsie says, it is important atleast to backup your own data, photos, music etc on another disk.  I would get Carbon Copy Cloner (CCC) and make a bootable clone of your existing Snow Leopard. Then copy the new Lion installer to this clone as well.  With this, you can keep functional (and ask for help here) while you get the Lion installation working and your apps updated.

  • How to install Route 66 navigation software on N95...

I am trying to install Route 66 Mobile 7 Benelux navigation software on my N95. The software manufacturer has given me the instructions below, but this still has not worked. I cannot see the Rooute 66 Icon in the phone. Can someone help? Thanks
The installation of the ROUTE 66 Mobile 7 software on Nokia N95 should be done manually as follows:
    1) Connect the Nokia N95to your PC via connection cable.
    2) On the screen of the phone the following choices will display:
    - Media player
    - PC suite
    - Mass Storage
    3) Choose " Mass Storage"
    4) The phone will appear as an "external HDD" on your computer.
    5) Run ROUTE 66 Mobile 7.
6 Select the "Browse content" option and then select and open "MultiMediaCardImage” folder.
    7) Copy the content of the folder from the Mobile 7 CD/DVD to the N95 HDD.
    8) When copying is finished, you will find the R66 Mobile 7 icon in on the Nokia N95.
In order to work with the internal GPS, follow the instructions bellow:
Please check the version of ROUTE 66 Mobile 7 that you currently have. Launch Mobile 7 and select Options->View->About Mobile. The version information is displayed in the header and in the About text.
If the version is 7.3.545 (for S60 3rd edition devices), you are already up to date! If the version is 7.3, or 7.3.x where x is a number less than 545 (for S60 3rd edition devices), download the update file available under the link at the bottom of the page.
    http://www.66.com/route66/support.php?cid=UK&sec=1&ssec=4
Please after the installation of the update the application can not be launched due to errors, we advise you to hard reset the phone as follows:
    - type *#7370# , password 12345; be aware that by hard-resetting the phone you will lose all the changes done since the first use of the phone (contacts, messages, settings).
However, note you can make a backup of the phone settings via Nokia suite on your PC.

    Hello khanw
No this is not working for me. But it seems like your MultiMediaCardImage” has many more folders and files that what I have. As I look on the installation disc, I only see System. I thought that maybe it was because the others were hidden files & folders, but I've checked and my folder settings are supposed to show these hidden files. So I have the feeling that I'm stuck. I sent a follow up e-mail to Route 66, and the only thing that they could do is repeat the original instructions. I wonder why your CD has many more files on it than mine does????
Maybe there is someone else in the forum that can help??

  • Nokia N95 GPS Navigation

    Dear All,
I am James and recently bought a Nokia N95. It comes with GPS Navigation but not sure how it works. Looked in the user manual but still not idea of how to work it. I have played around with it and downloaded Google Maps but find it difficult to get a reception.
I want to know how to download maps onto it, what connection is needed and how it actually works?
    Any ideas?
    regards
    James

    Hi,
I'm just back from the US were i used the GPS a good bit. like most GPS's, Navigation on the N95 told me to turn right then left on on straight roads with intersections (watch out for this, always look at the map before turning as you'll see that the route line is straight on screen), sent me down bizarre side roads, never went the same route to a place as it did going back (very strange), but other that that was very handy.
The one major bug I'd like to report is in v20 of the firmware (can't say for others versions), despite disabling network communication in the settings, the phone would still startup my GPRS data pack connection while roaming. Even when I set it to use Wi-Fi, it still made a connection over GPRS. I work out it cost me about a €10 in unnecessary data charges. Easy test to see if you get the same problem: Startup Maps and say no to data usage, exit or Press Menu, Tools, Log. You should see that a Data pack connection was initiated at the same time you started the Maps App. The only way around this I found was to set the phone to offline mode. But you might as well buy a proper GPS if this is the only solution.
    Good luck!
I had exactly the same problem. Once activated, network mode could not be turned off and it cost me around $50 in a day and a half.
As soon as I tried to shut it down in Maps>Options, it either shut down maps or rebooted my phone.
Keep network support off, is my recommendation.
To cure the problem, I had to reload my firmware and software...everything but settings. If you reload settings, you reload the problem.
I spend hours today doing just that. Settings are probably the least important part of my phone history so it wasn't too big of a deal and the effort was totally worth it to save me mega cash while using maps.

  • Getting n96 to talk to the PC navigation software

    I have a nokia n96
its great but would like to use the GPS function alone to talk to my laptop marine navigation software.  I only need it to transmit the lat and long in NMEA
can anyone tell me if this is possible? and if so how?
    Thanks
    any advice greatfully received

    Read http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/controller/3.2/configuration/guide/c32mint.html#wp1153947
A zero value for the VLAN identifier (on the Controller > Interfaces page) means that the interface is untagged.
The default (untagged) native VLAN on Cisco switches is VLAN 1. When controller interfaces are configured as tagged (meaning that the VLAN identifier is set to a non-zero value), the VLAN must be allowed on the 802.1Q trunk configuration on the neighbor switch and not be the native untagged VLAN.
Cisco recommends that only tagged VLANs be used on the controller. You should also allow only relevant VLANs on the neighbor switch's 802.1Q trunk connections to controller ports. All other VLANs should be disallowed or pruned in the switch port trunk configuration. This practice is extremely important for optimal performance of the controller.

  • N80 - GPS navigation?

    Went to the shops.
Made up my mind to get an N80.
Slightly bulky... but happy to have this because I can use for GPS navigation.
Erm... there is NO mention of it being compatible with ANY of the software out there.
They ALL list the N70 and N90 as being compatible.
    BUT NOT the N80.
    Why is this!!!?
Surely the N80 is the next version of the N70?
    I tried calling Club Nokia.
Spoke to them for 10 minutes.
They were clueless and couldn't help.
Can someone let me know if it's compatible with any of the software's?
    If so... which ones?
    Thanks.

maybe you should have checked that out prior to buying the phone?
i dont think club nokia would be much help to you for finding software that is compatible?
if you check the nokia website, it shows there what it is compatible for the N80 and GPS. it has the ld-1w and ld-3w.

  • Palm GPS Navigator

I am having a bit of trouble with my GPS Navigator. I want to connect it to my laptop and use it for directions, but I have no idea how, since I dont have any of the software, since I just got it second-hand from my grandmother. Here is the info I found under the battery
    Model: 180-10242-00
    FCC ID:08F-238BTGPS
    IC: 3905A-238BTGPS
    Bluetooth 1.2 Compliant
    Post relates to: Tungsten E

I have the same GPS receiver model, and tried it with the Garmin software (Mobile PC).
First, you have to use the configuration software for Bluetooth in your PC to create a Serial port; in my PC, Toshiba Bluetooth stack is installed, and new virtual ports get ID 40 and up.
Then, in the GPS software, configure it to connect to that new serial port (COM40 in my case). If you have valid licenses, it should connect without problems.
Connecting GPS SW directly to bluetooth didn't work, as it seems connection is terminated every time there is no data transfer.

    Hi,
I bought a Lenovo X200 with "Windows XP Professional preinstalled through downgrade rights in Genuine Windows 7 Professional", laptop has a windows  7 pro COA. How do I get Windows 7 OS install software to install Windows 7 on my laptop ? Lenovo is not giving me a Windows 7 install or recovery disk since it is XP preinstalled. Microsoft says Lenovo is responsible for it.

There are no alternative links. The download servers are extremely slow. Try again and be patient.

  • GPS navigator on nokia e71 which one is working?

Hello, I'd like to install a gps navigator on the nokia e71, do you have any suggestions apart from the Nokia maps? I read that Sygic is working on Nokia, do you know a bit more about it? What about licenses, try periods etc? do I have to pay a licence or to download maps with these kind of programs?
    Thanks very much.
    Pippobaudo

I've been using Route 66 for over a year now on my E71 and find it the most stable and usable of all. Tried nokia maps, google maps, Tom Tom, Papago, Mapking etc...
You can download it from here:
    http://www.66.com/static_media/updates/mobile8_s60/M8_S60_Update_8.0.18990.exe
The application itself it free but you need to purchase the maps. The maps don't expire, but the traffic info, traffic cameras and weather are subscription based and optional.
Install the application on your memory card, you can either connect your E71 via USB or it's faster to put your micro SD card in a reader and install it from there.
Maps can be purchased directly via the application on the phone or you can download the Route 66 Sync (PC only) and do it from there.
You have the option to use R66 without data usage (HDSPA/GPRS) using the E71 internal GPS, I also successfully tried with an external CIRF III GPS module but doesn't make much difference.
You can however get faster fixes if you also enable "network based" and "assisted GPS" in the E71 phone settings (tools/settings/general/positioning/positioning methods)
Mind you that this will use a minimal amount of data usage for every fix e.g. when starting up R66.
But it has the advantage to continue the map scrolling when in tunnels by extraolating it's position using cell sites.
    Good luck.

  • Samsung 850 Pro One-Stop Install Navigator Software on Macbook Pro?

Would anyone recommend using the One-Stop Install Navigator software with my MacBook Pro? I have the disc, but I was going to throw it away... Don't feel I need it, but I want to hear the community's opinion. Thanks.

Try going to the App Store Purchases tab on the HDD and download 10.8 to the HDD. When the installer starts, point it at the SSD. Before you install, make a copy of the installer so you won't have to download it again. You can make a bootable USB stick to install using this free program.
