W530 bluetooth aptx support?

I have a Thinkpad W530. It has Bluetooth 4.0 but it doesn't say whether it has APTX support. I'd like to know if it does, and if not whether there's any way to add this functionality.
I spoke to someone at Lenovo Tech Support and they told me they didn't know and I should post a question here (!).
Thanks in anticipation for any help.

no one knows?

  • Part # for W530 bluetooth module...

Does someone have the part number so that I can order a replacement W530 bluetooth module? If not, who should I contact?

    Hi critical_
I believe the part # is 60Y3271 but you should call Lenovo to verify, their number is 1-800-426-7378
    Hope that helps!

  • Aptx support in iPhone 6 and iOS 8

So I have an iPhone 6 Plus on the way and I was wondering if it supports aptx. I know it's something that hasn't been supported on past iOS versions and devices but it's on OS X so I was hoping the new iPhone's support it.

Just in case anyone is still looking at this I thought I'd report something I found very helpful (whether others will is up to them).
I was looking for bluetooth headphones and in the process auditioned five different ones that had received high reviews.  In the end I only kept a relatively cheap pair (and actually ended up with a wired set of Bose earpieces that I'm using with a tiny wearable USB receiver but that's a whole other story).
During my testing process one of the things I did was install the free-with-the-phones Jabra music playing app that imports your iTunes library and effectively acts as a substitute for it.  What it *does* do is offer the ability to play music using Dolby Digital processing, along with a fairly complete equalizer.  It works on both the bluetooth signal as well as any attached via the headphone jack (it might even affect the built-in speaker for all I know but it's hard to tell with my 4s phone).
The difference between using it and the puny EQ built-in to the iPhone is amazing -- cheap headphones suddenly sound like they cost thousands, and "good" headphones sound unbelievable.  I was almost going to keep the $150 headphones (which are nice but too heavy for my purpose) just for the app alone, but I see that's available for $5 as a standalone in the store https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/jabra-sound/id589556828?mt=8 )
If you care at all about sound in your headphones you ought to check it out -- it has completely changed my opinion about using even cheap earbuds with the iPhone.  This now makes me not care one whit about the lack of AptX.

  • Stereo Bluetooth - no support for controls and other issues

I have tried 2 stereo headsets now and both have the same issue. No controls other than Vol +/- are supported. Pause/Play doesn't work and >| and |< don't work. It's pretty clear that the 3.0 software doesn't support these functions.
One Headset is the new Sony BT100CX. The other is Insignia.
Are others getting the same results?
I also get some bizarre results with the Stereo Headset, like no audio in one direction on a phone call. Then when I switched to iPhone from Bluetooth and hung up, the call actually stayed open! Another time I connected to the Sony BT and got constant static.
I spent a long time talking to a nice but not very knowledgeable gentleman at Apple Support who consulted an "specialist." The specialist did not seem to know whether these controls are supported or not. It is bizarre that Apple is paying so little attention to bluetooth. Having waited years for decent bluetooth support, you would would think they would want to get it right when they finally put it in, but they leave out VERY valuable features. And they don't even seem to know that they left out these features. A simple pause in the iPhone in Ipod mode is a PITA. With the Bluetooth stereo profile it should be easy.

Thanks. That page says the 3G supports the AVRCP profile, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bluetoothprofile#Audio.2FVideo_Remote_Control_Profile.28AVRCP.29. Version 1.0 of the profile includes pause/play etc. It is clear that although they claim support, it does not work.
Are others not having this issue?

  • Look for official APPLE statement on future rSAP Bluetooth profile support

    Hi,
My previous post was considered as "speculative" by the moderators (I still do not see what were the speculations but, OK, I let go)...
Therefore, I'll try to be still more factual:
_Fact 1_: current firmware of iPhone 3G does not support rSAP Bluetooth profile.
_Fact 2_: my car needs my phone to support rSAP Bluetooth profile for being able to use the built-in handsfree kit.
_Fact 3_: I cannot find anywhere an official statement from APPLE about this rSAP Bluetooth profile.
_My question_: can someone give me a link to such an official statement?
(I hope this will be considered as factual enough...

Hello. I know this is not exactly what you are looking for. But the link below is a document that informs you about current BT Profile that is used.
If you would like Apple to know about other BT Profiles needed to work with your car. Feel free to contact Apple via the feedback page below.

  • W530 docking station supporting 4k monitor?

    Hello,
I have googled for quite a while now without luck. It seems to me that the most advanced docking station for the W530 is the "Mini Dock Plus Series 3 with USB 3.0 - 170W" which only supports a maximum resolution of 2560x1600 from its display ports according to this German webpage: http://www.notebooksbilliger.de/lenovo+thinkpad+mini+dock+plus+series+3+usb+30+0a65699.
Anybody know of a docking station for the W530 (244723U model) that supports 4k?
    Regards,

    Hello,
I have this question too. I'm planning to buy Asus 4K monitor and not sure, whether it will work via DP on my docking station.
    Thanks.

  • Bluetooth A2DP support

The including of Bluetooth Advanced Audio Distribution Profile support is fairly simple why did apple leave this off? To have the ability to stream audio to your car stereo or to a bluetooth head set is not needed but would make the iphone's ipod features so much more enchanced.

There is another topic out there about this to guys:

  • IPhone stereo bluetooth headset support?

My Sony DS970 works fine in telephone mode, but it won't work in stereo bluetooth mode. it's odd to be on a phone call working fine on the headset, then turn on the music or sounds and have that jump out of the speaker. Pretty annoying that we have to deal with a custom-sized headphone adapter AND a bluetooth transmitted that's disabled. I have a portable bluetooth transmitter, but it won't fit in the headphone jack. Wow -- I knew the Zune made some mistakes around bluetooth, but this one seems ridiculous.
Is it a possible software patch? Can the hardware support A2DP? Are there any plans to support bluetooth audio moving forward?
ANY answers would be most welcome even if the answer is "Go away we aren't going to support that until the next phone." I just wanto to know if it's broken, disabled, fixable, or what?
I prefer real answers to rampant speculation, but I'll probably get more of the latter than the former, which can be expected.

Many people believe apple left A2DP support off so as they may make the only devices to do this. So the market is only flooded with their devices. A2DP should be a software thing but dont quote me on that.

  • Bluetooth not supported for emulated applications?

This is a quote I received from a tech support group recently, and I'm trying to find out if this is true or not:
"Bluetooth on Intel based Macintosh system is not supported by Mac OS X for emulated applications"
So if we want to make use of Bluetooth, are we out of luck if the application is not a universal binary?
This is part of a running discussion I'm having with the Lego company regarding the Bluetooth capabilities of their new Mindstorms NXT robot kit. I'm aware of the issues of my specific case and I'm pursuing this with them based on an install of their software on an XP machine, but I'm wondering about the accuracy of their general statement above.
    Thoughts?

Why exactly are you trying to pair your iPhone with your Macbook Bluetooth, if it is for transferring any Data via bluetooth then that won't work as iPhone's bluetooth can only be used for Tethering (Internet) on your Macbook Pro

  • W530: Bluetooth hands-free audio problem

    Hello,
I have a W530 (2438.2HU) and lately I noticed that the Bluetooth Hands-free Audio driver is disabled. The Device Manageer section for this driver states that
"Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)"
I went to the Lenovo driver download site; but couldn't figure out which driver to download. Could someone, please, tell me exactly which driver I have to download to fix this issue? Thanks in advance.

    Hi @felixchip
What do you have connected via Bluetooth? Did you try the troubleshooting steps from the link in the previous thread we were working on? Is that how you got the Bluetooth error? Does the sound work when you plug in a set of headphones? Try installing your IDT High-Definition Audio driver and let me know if you get an error message when installing it.

on windows 7 I used to do this via hotkey f5 however on windows 8 this only gives me wifi options.

I know this sounds stupid, but check the side switch. that powers the bluetooth on and off.

  • Bluetooth Mouse Support?

    Hi,
Recently we announced the USB dongle product to share PC's keyboard and mouse with smart phone.
Please refer to the following Youtube video how it works.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n95bSTMQfFU&feature=related
Android smart phone support both keyboard and mouse, so it's very convenient,
but iphone only support bluetooth keyboard.
Especially for iPad, it's necessary to support both keyboard and mouse for easy editing documents.
Do you have any plan to upgrade iOS to suuport bluetooth mouse?

  • Is skype calls over bluetooth not supported?

I upgraded to 2.2.4 firmware. So now I can use Skype voice calls. But I found that my bluetooth headphone cannot be used in the skype call, but only regular call.
I wonder if it is my bluetooth headphone's problem, or it is true that the firmware doesn't support Skype call over bluetooth.
Post relates to: Pre 2 p102una (Unlocked NA)

So, we'd have to get an answer from HP about this one. I don't have a Bluetooth headset so I am not able to test it. I do know that Music and Phone calls uses different Bluetooth connections to play audio. Phone calls us the Headset Profile while Music and Video use the Advanced Audio Distrobution Profile.
Try this, while on a Skype call, tap the Audio button in the bottom left and select Bluetooth. Does this work?
